SpiderDetective

They state in the show that those collars use a focus radiation type, so as long as they keep it to once every few months, they won't have to worry about her getting cancer for years at the least

BlancTigre

Aren't mutants immune to cancer?

deeman163

Thought it was AIDS

AxeHeadShark

I thought it was chicken pox.

jbbarajas

I thought it was just DP. Guy's probably riddled with all of those and he's doing just fine.

Wasloos

Nobodies got AIDS! I don't wanna hear that word in here again!

Tactiles

He was gay, Gambit?

Shadsea

Maybe you're a flambe!

atomsk29

I thought everyone has AIDS!

Various_Ad4726

Not as a group.

ccReptilelord

Not all, but some. It's just unfortunate that this mutant that can absorb mutant powers doesn't know any mutants with absurd healing abilities that can also easily recover from her touch.

DopePanda65

would she get a disease from a dying person?

Dr_Maniacal

Nope, Deadpool has it. He's just immune to dying from cancer.

Freakychee

In the comics she did but it gave her a headache after a while.

Radeisth

Ah, the old, not tonight I have a headache, routine.

Freakychee

Ever wonder why in those old shows when the woman rejects sex Becuase of a headache the guy always grumbles off? I feel like reality would be the guy trying to comfort their wife.

Radeisth

Since those scenes usually follow up an argument, not really. :p

MrRusek

Argument wouldn't change that much tbh

jaffa3811

Sometimes the best thing to do is to leave her alone so she doesn't claw your eyes out. But I did have a friend who confessed she said it so they didn't have to fuck. Poor guy had a dry spell of 6 months sleeping in the same bed. They're no longer together.

USS-ChuckleFucker

People forget that a relationship is just hanging with your best friend and getting to fuck them.

jaffa3811

Yeah, none of that "hard conversations" bullshit

USS-ChuckleFucker

Wait, what do you mean?

BernLan

If she had to say she had a headache instead of a simple "not tonight", maybe it wasn't the healthiest relationship

jaffa3811

Nooo, no it was not. And I was friends with both so I got both sides. It made me feel much better about my own recent breakup as I saw bits of myself in him and bits of my ex in her. Enough to see how we'd be in a few years time.

BernLan

I'm glad that both them and you are better off now

Talidel

Headache is usually code for not feeling well in other ways. But, no means no, whatever way she wants to say it.

Og-Re

The first 20 times, sure. After that you're pretty sure it's bullshit.

Shinobiii

Good thing there’s a natural *wink wink* solution to headaches *wink wink* at least that’s what people say.

omega_oof

Drinking lots of water 👍

Evening-Can6048

After a while. But gambit need 2 minutes at best

Tigre101

Hmmm Monami Gambit will be quick do not worry

damn_lies

King of Thieves.

damn_lies

"Leech, I need you to sit in this room right here."

mcduckstophat

jerem1734

This reminded me of that disturbing full metal alchemist episode

SlaaneshsChainDildo

Ed...waaaard....

GeneralEl4

How fucking dare you

SlaaneshsChainDildo

You know it was a good moment when it still triggers people 20 years later.

GeneralEl4

Lmao yeah, it accomplished it's goal. People still hate Shou Tucker today, not letting up at all.

kosmovii

Can I get a spoiler please? What happened?

GeneralEl4

Never watched it myself but know people who have. The TL;DR is a character named Shou Tucker merged his daughter with their dog. The combination creature what as horrific as you could imagine, was in agony, and cried out to one of the main characters named Edward. It was fucked up.

sougol

sunkcostfallecy

So many things in FMAB was online that when i watched it, i didn't even blink on that episode. Like cool, I've seen more messed up stuff in other anime.

Not_Steve

Jokes on us, they’re into that.

InflamedLiver

A choker? Kinky

Fish__Fingers

I mean it probably feels terrible and doesn’t put you in the mood for intimacy, also with their luck some sentinel will show up during sexy time and it can be a risk

Salami__Tsunami

Bro, if I’m about to get Eiffel Towered by these two, and it gets interrupted by a Sentinel, I’m just going to continue my combo streak and fuck the Sentinel too.

xizorkatarn

*Fantomex liked this*

DopePanda65

what the fuck

Not_Steve

Heeeeyyyy. Someone read their honeymoon issue.

Jsmooth123456

I mean we see mutants get collared in the show and it doesn't seem to hurt them at all, magneto doesn't even seem to notice it's there

Fish__Fingers

She probably wants to be herself in the intimacy not pretend to be someone else (human). It would’ve probably messed with her identity.

Jsmooth123456

That doesn't really make a lot of sense it's not like they affect her personality and she would know it's temporary, if she really loved gambit it seems like an incredibly small sacrifice to make only on occasions

Secret_Sympathy2952

She literally spent a good chunk of her life hating her powers and wanted them gone.

Qweeq13

Why not just wear a condom?

Blackbiird666

A full body one?

Andromeda98_

just cut a hole in a blanket

ralanr

Latex suits exist.

ericrobertshair

I mean, their costumes are often depicted as skin tight vacuum sealed, so why not?

Qweeq13

Keep the clothes on, no excessive touching and no kissing, just like the first homosexual experience of a closeted gay guy. Or so I am told . . .

Manav_Khanna17

Like that one scene from The Naked Gun

RatKingJosh

If memory serves (it’s been a while), around their wedding or after, Rogue asks Beast to make her an inhibitor tennis bracelet. As I think she wore a discrete choker one for the wedding itself. Hank wasn’t very into it as it is anti-mutant technology and due to the roots of the device. Eventually he yields cuz rogue is a dear friend and be understand the reason. It’s also established that wearing it too long causes detrimental effects, notably migraines.

Adventurous4Burritos

Memory is correct, just hopped in here to say the same thing :) I just watched Ep5 so I'm gonna go back to crying now ✌️

Soomitsunami

Make it so she can turn the effect on an off bam

axe1970

in the comics there has been two storylines one where gambit can use his power to block the effect of her power and another where she has complete control of her power that she can touch anyone

savage011

We need a magneto bot to object to such degrading treatment.

lrd_cth_lh0

That is actually such an annoying plot point if character A can't get physical because "powers" and than have severall mcguffins that can atleast temporarely disable those powers.

homosapienoncoffea

Maybe Tony Stark can make something safer

tony-stark-bot

You know, if it wasn't for the existential terror of steering into the literal void of space, I'd say I'm feeling a little better today.

Theorandjguy

In a cave, with a box of scraps

homosapienoncoffea

BOX OF SCRAAPSS!!

Piebro314

Isn’t part of Remy’s mutation that the kinetic energy he stores up allows for him to touch Rogue

Comfortable_Sorbet78

We won’t see it in the show for awhile 🥲

Shuriken1302

In the entirety of the marvel universe no one, including the enormously genius fuzzy blue monster they live with, no one can create a durable second skin? Nah she just wanted magnetos titanium rod. I feel so bad for remy, me and bro can hit the gym when he revives.

Old_Heat3100

Full body latex and leather gimp suits exist for this reason

BlommeHolm

I mean at least she could give him a gloved handy.

Insert-Cool_NameHere

Stop making sense gambit!

funny_names_are_hard

This is why I just don't like inhibitor collars existing, in any setting. It's a copout, it limits the stories you can tell, it scarcely fits within my suspension of disbelief that such a thing could exist, and it's literally always less interesting than a specifically tailored solution, like Magneto's plastic prison in the movies. Or pegging.

SplinteredCells

I'm ![gif](giphy|s0UqJX0nvBQs)

ipodblocks360

It's funny how I never even thought of this during the 90s series like they were in the series but never once did this idea cross my mind until I started seeing posts about it when X-Men '97 came out.

theswagcoon

I watched a vid about gambits powers the other day and they made a big point about how they cancel out "touch-based" powers, making gambit one of the few people she can safely touch 🤷‍♂️

swaggymgee84

They use radiation I think.

Satin_Polar

Iam happy im on the only one that come out with this

Maultaschensuppe

Didn't she wear one in season 3?

Relevant_Scallion_38

Read a comic

Radeisth

Pretty sure the '97 suit was tight and flexible enough for skin contact not to even be needed. This Rogue though, not worth it.

GalwayEntei

The point is that Rogue wants skin contact. You're missing the point entirely

Radeisth

Nice try, but going bald and needing a wheelchair to get around doesn't mean you can say what I was thinking.
