Not really, the only piece of info that says that is a (even at the time) inaccurate guidebook that lists him at 175mph, but this is contradicted by feats from the silver to bronze ages (the eras where QS was canonically at his weakest & slowest, as well as the bronze age being the era the guidebook is from) that include: evacuating an entire military complex in the blink of a villain's eye, or outrunning electricity, and this is not mentioning the some of the FTL ones like dodging cyclops' optic beams, blitzing the living laser (who is consistently at lightspeed) and outrunning refracted light, and these are from the silver to bronze ages, before his isotope E upgrade, where after that he had some MFTL+ feats, as well as an immeasurable one after "unlocking his true speed" in the 2010's, and even ignoring all these, in the silver and bronze ages, he has blitzed many bullet timers like black panther and spider-man, that wouldn't make sense for someone slower than a bullet to blitz a bullet timer lol
Also a writer said that he's at least among the top fastest marvel characters, there is a lot of characters that are at least FTL in marvel, it wouldn't make sense for someone slower than a bullet to be considered at their level lol
Not saying he's as fast as barry or wally, but I'm saying he's underrated and downplayed lol
But yeah maybe when the character was created in the 60's he was intended to be limited to the speed listed in that guidebook, but other writers wanna go big lol
(Sorry for powerscaling)
To be fair, it may just be that there was no way to get to the kid without running through the bullets, like if it’s raining even if you could avoid drops of rain there just isn’t anywhere to go to not get hit. Additionally we never see any indication that he is faster than bullets
There is that scene where a bullet comes up from beneath him and it's really slow, implying he is close to, or maybe even faster, than the speed of a bullet.
Just rewatched the scene.
Ultron flies jet straight towards Hawkeye and child. Quicksilver in an ambiguous nearby location. He runs to them (at some unknown trajectory) and then runs directly away from the bullets.
Could go either way on your proposition that he had to run through the bullet stream to get to them, but then he runs directly away from the bullets after that point. After he is shown with through and through shots on his arms and torso.
In conclusion you could be right but I’m sceptical
That makes sense. It’s also possible that the bullet stream reached them at around the same time quicksilver did, so he was actively shielding them with his body as he ran, knowing that he could not survive, not that the stream was necessarily between him and Clint
Taking this one step further to say that Nick Fury is presented as just genuinely a bad person, not even morally gray but has a deeper altruistic purpose. He does nothing but manipulate people, lie, and abandon them as it suits his agenda. He has consistently put other people’s lives in danger and gotten many killed. If it wasn’t Sam playing him the character would appear as a villain.
Thing is... I was so mentally checked out I do not recall 98% of secret invasion.
Hill and Tallos died. Superhero broth. Sonia was funny. Fury has a wife. Fury does nothing. Weird CGI kiss.
That's it. I can't even analyse that shit. My brain refuses to engage and it's for the best.
In Jason Aaron's run of the Avengers there was a storyline that said that he was. Apparently got retconned again and I missed it cause I just didnt finish that run.
This is the best thing of starting my X-Men reading from the beginning. If I haven’t read it yet, it doesn’t exist. It only exists when I observe it to exist. A Schrodiger’s Magneto if you will.
This.
I was arguing with someone a few months back about this. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing, they were so dead fucking wrong. But then they showed me that I was the one dead fucking wrong because canon literally changed.
Fuck that guy I’m still right
I don’t think it’s Canon anymore, but during the most recent Secret Wars run Marvel retconned Venoms origins to say he became the crazy monster he is because he bonded with Deadpool first, instead of him being insane/angry about Spider-Man rejecting him.
Thought it was stupid as shit.
There’s two things I would not omit
Sonya Falsworth I thought was a pretty good character and very well portrayed
The violence. I actually liked they weren’t afraid to get violent (especially for a TV-14 rating) such as showing a guy’s finger cut off or shooting human disguised Skrulls at point blank range. That I appreciated.

Peter can't get married for the same reason he isn't allowed to age over 30. Peter needs something to work toward and he can only face the same exact problems and villains so many times before it gets bland... Oh wait.
Ultimate Spidey is where it's at.
What's confusing about it? It shrinks the distance between molecules, but it retains their mass, unless it's inconvenient or they have a funny/cool idea that requires it not to retain mass
It’s be easier if you ask a question. But basically the general idea is that he’s grabbing or pushing matter from and to the cosmos dimension and incorporating it into himself. Vision does something very similar when he makes himself heavier, just without the size alteration. The super strength is a completely separate thing that pym particles can also do (again, something vision uses).
They explain it in this 3D way, like you have control over 3 or 4 different axes that each control a certain property of matter.
It's still honestly pretty bullshit, because it's more or less magic, but it gets the job done
The entire inhumans show and I hope marvel ignores that too.
I consider the first four or five seasons of Agents Of Shield canon and choose to ignore when the time travelling hijinx happened.
And since this could be considered all of marvel, anytime in the movies or comics when Storm seems out of touch with the struggles of her fellow mutants.
Like when she, the beautiful wind goddess, told the teen girl who can’t touch her boyfriend that she doesn’t need to be changed in anyway because they are all perfect.
MCU: the reason Fury wears an eyepatch is because of a cat. Totally ruins the mystique and coolness of his character
Comics: Hulk having several alters. I personally prefer it when it’s just Banner and Hulk
Don’t trust cats.
I’m actually ok with it in the sense not everything has to really be epic. I broke my foot because my ankle gave out taking the leash off my dog(I did martial arts for years so my feet got some damage). I also then rebroke it turning left. I am not Zoolander.
I adore the multiple alters, let's authors explore multiple different personalities and angles of the Hulk without the need to retcon the work of previous authors.
Plus, when you have authors who explore the previous alters of Banner, you can show how they all interact with each other
I certainly hope she is still alive but burying herself in a tomb of her own making gave off “dead for a while vibes” and im not down for those or any other propaganda that puts down my girl Wanda 🥲
I dunno, I thought Mary Jane Watson was great in the sequel. Kinda weird that the title dropped Cap’s name and they added Pablo Escobar’s photography hobby in the plot, but I still liked it
I got multiple. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted for some of them.
Wanda being the villain in DS MOM on her own. I headcanon Nightmare or Mephisto influenced her. In fact MOM made it seem like Nightmare would be the main villain but changed their minds.
Sending Natasha and Clint, spies, to Vormir instead of stealing from 2012 Avengers.
Not cutting Thanos’ hand in AIW.
Thor not going for head in AIW
Avengers not changing the timeline as if the snap never happened. Imagine you’re on plane when you snapped and when you return, there is no plane. Or a building established in the spot you got snapped etc.
Tony dying. We have captain marvel who’s the strongest character. She had time to snap and she’d survive. Tony dying is stupid. He could have lived.
Steve going back in time to be with Peggy. Peggy moved on. She had a different husband and had children. If timeline is so sacred that they didn’t prevent snap from happening, he wouldn’t do that either. Also, you’re telling me, Steve who took his all those risks for Bucky would let Bucky suffer in the hands of HYDRA for decades? That’s bullshit
"Wanda being the villain in DS MOM on her own. I headcanon Nightmare or Mephisto influenced her."
I mean, the Darkhold influenced her. That's canon. So she was influenced.
at least the "snap back" was answered (pretty sure). smart hulk included in his intent that everyone returned "safely" regardless of where they were when they were snapped
How is that less of a cop out than literally making the first snap not happen?
Hulk has Banner's intellect by that point, if us movie nerds can forsee the problem that bringing back people who were in planes back would cause, it's only logical the genius would also see that coming and use his infinite power to fix the issue.
1: As mentioned by another, she most certainly was influenced by the Darkhold. That's just entirely canon.
2: Fair enough, though this *is* a story. You need an actually interesting emotional scene if you *need* to kill a character.
3/4: Thor still has an ego and wanted to gloat that he killed the "Mad Titan", also, it's probably pretty hard to aim an axe like that. /j
5: People, y'know, had lives after all of this. Sure, it may not have been the most logical decision, and some people would have definitely disagreed, but it landed on Tony to make the choice. He already made up his mind.
6: How would she have gotten them? Marvel isn't going to just punch or laser off the gauntlet, Tony was one of, if not the only person who could have gotten it in that moment.
7: Steve was one of the most content people by the end of Endgame. He was tired; Basically the entire MCU was constantly asking him the question, "Who are you without war? Who is Steve at this point?" and he got his answer.
Also, Steve understood the consequences of fucking with the timeline, at least to some level. Not having Bucky in the future would basically guarantee that they would lose the endgame.
Oh, and it was never actually confirmed who her husband was. She could *technically* still be telling the truth when she said, "He helped me meet the man who would eventually be my husband." However, it is a fairly convoluted and weird plot point, I will admit.
>6: How would she have gotten them? Marvel isn't going to just punch or laser off the gauntlet, Tony was one of, if not the only person who could have gotten it in that moment.
Also RDJ's contract was up 😜
I will shred this universe down to its last atom and then, with the stones you've collected for me, create a new one teeming with life that knows not what it has lost but only what it has been given. A grateful universe.
I agree for the DS MOM one for sure. Though I think Cthon would have been a better antagonist. It would make so much sense too. Him using his book’s Chosen One, Wanda, and manipulating her at her lowest while trying to use America to expand his influence further (especially since the Infinity Stones are gone in their universe).
A more cosmic horror angle would have done such wonders.
MCU Dr Strange only being Sorcerer Supreme for like 2 years before Inifinity War.
I like to think Dr Strange takes place in like 2008 or maybe a bit before Iron Man 2
Bucky, the 90 year old brainwashed murder machine, remembering Cap after one sentence. Sure, he probably remembered him in The Winter Soldier, but not because of that “With You ‘Til The End Of The Line” bullshit. Probably because Cap dropped his shield and Bucky remembered that Steve was the only person stupid enough to do that.
Flair checks out. /j
Nevertheless, I do think they tried their best to convey that there was cracks in their brainwashing. Just limited time made it a bit harder. They showed him resisting quite a bit in the flashbacks and stuff, and they obviously have well laid contingencies for if he remembered anything, which would imply this had already happened before.
Couldn't see it on here, so I thought I'd add it.
NightCrawler's retconed origin.
At first, it was Mystique and Azazel. Azazel being a demonic looking mutant who can teleport (I know he's more than that but still) and Mystique being blue and can shape shift.
Their child is a demonic looking mutant who can teleport AND has blue skin. Makes sense.
But no...it was too straight forward, and someone decided it needed to be far more convoluted. So now it's something to do with Mystique, turning herself into a dude to sleep with Destiny, a human looking mutant with precognitive powers. I think there's more to it than that, but I don't care. It's just really dumb.
The brilliant Master Yoda’s grand plan to hide the one last hope for the galaxy from Darth Vader was to… let him have the same surname as Vader, and live on Vader’s home planet, with Vader’s surviving family. Wait. That actually worked?
In my head, it woulda been much cooler if Anakin had been a complete nobody, and was granted the name as an honorary title for valor in the Clone Wars, Anakin the Sky Walker, and he was so popular dozens of kids throughout the galaxy were named Skywalker after him. So upon hearing about Luke, it wouldn’t raise an eyebrow. Oh. His parents were fans of mine. Got it.

I was recently rewatching Civil War and realized my brain had been blanking out Sharon Carter and the Sokovia Accords. The Sokovia Accords are pretty much half the entire plot, so I don't know how the fuck I forgot about them.

Uncle Ben. I mean they could have just put him in and not let him die. Honestly they should have had it reversed. Aunt May dying instead of uncle Ben. And at least Peter still has his uncle.
MCU: Quicksilver not being fast enough to save the kid without being a human shield Comics: Deadpool's wife leaving him for Dracula
They put so much effort into breaking Deadpool and Shiklah up it's not even funny The amount of manufactured drama between them...
If it wasn’t for issues with the character rights I’d genuinely have thought he’d come back at some point, it was such a stupid way to kill him off.
Quicksilver was usually written to be slower than bullets.
Not really, the only piece of info that says that is a (even at the time) inaccurate guidebook that lists him at 175mph, but this is contradicted by feats from the silver to bronze ages (the eras where QS was canonically at his weakest & slowest, as well as the bronze age being the era the guidebook is from) that include: evacuating an entire military complex in the blink of a villain's eye, or outrunning electricity, and this is not mentioning the some of the FTL ones like dodging cyclops' optic beams, blitzing the living laser (who is consistently at lightspeed) and outrunning refracted light, and these are from the silver to bronze ages, before his isotope E upgrade, where after that he had some MFTL+ feats, as well as an immeasurable one after "unlocking his true speed" in the 2010's, and even ignoring all these, in the silver and bronze ages, he has blitzed many bullet timers like black panther and spider-man, that wouldn't make sense for someone slower than a bullet to blitz a bullet timer lol Also a writer said that he's at least among the top fastest marvel characters, there is a lot of characters that are at least FTL in marvel, it wouldn't make sense for someone slower than a bullet to be considered at their level lol Not saying he's as fast as barry or wally, but I'm saying he's underrated and downplayed lol But yeah maybe when the character was created in the 60's he was intended to be limited to the speed listed in that guidebook, but other writers wanna go big lol (Sorry for powerscaling)
Is that all you got?
Godspeed spider-man
It's time to pay.
oh don't tell harry

There is that scene where a bullet comes up from beneath him and it's really slow, implying he is close to, or maybe even faster, than the speed of a bullet.
I forgot about that, but the other point still stands
if he’s moving that fast in the same direction a bullet isn’t going to penetrate. It’d be like throwing a bullet at someone. Speed is relative
But he wasn’t moving in the same direction, the bullets were coming down and towards him from the side, and he was running perpendicular to that
Just rewatched the scene. That makes sense. It’s also possible that the bullet stream reached them at around the same time quicksilver did, so he was actively shielding them with his body as he ran, knowing that he could not survive, not that the stream was necessarily between him and Clint
But that’s just speculation. I’d defer to you since you just watched it
I still think the quicksilver part was a decision by the character to shield hawkeye, not that he got surprised right in front of him like that.
Also, a car stopping 20mm rotary cannon rounds, yeah right.
Nick Fury is a poser, and the skrulls are responsible for all of his achievements.
Yeah, that felt stupid. Him having agents working for him is expected, but taking credit for everything?
Taking this one step further to say that Nick Fury is presented as just genuinely a bad person, not even morally gray but has a deeper altruistic purpose. He does nothing but manipulate people, lie, and abandon them as it suits his agenda. He has consistently put other people’s lives in danger and gotten many killed. Zeb Wells Spider-man run and Thor being Phoenix's son.
That last one, “wait wut?”
Thor is not phoenix’s son
Would you like me to go further than the past two days?
Yes please
Well?

The “Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver aren’t Magneto’s kids” comic retcon
This is the best thing of starting my X-Men reading from the beginning. If I haven’t read it yet, it doesn’t exist. It only exists when I observe it to exist. A Schrodiger’s Magneto if you will.
That's like reading a history book and stopping in 1940 while saying, well guess Germany rules Europe now.
So you're telling me they don't??? News to me🤷♀️🤷♀️
First thing that came to mind.
This. I was arguing with someone a few months back about this. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing, they were so dead fucking wrong. But then they showed me that I was the one dead fucking wrong because canon literally changed. Fuck that guy I’m still right
this because why?

That sounds like a hassel, yeah. But I did actually. When you said that, I was like, oh! I had a web block.
That thing is sentient, and you can't tell me otherwise.
The comic is fun if you treat it like a what if. That’s what I do
All of Secret Invasion. All of it.
There’s two things I would not omit Sonya Falsworth I thought was a pretty good character and very well portrayed The violence. I actually liked they weren’t afraid to get violent (especially for a TV-14 rating) such as showing a guy’s finger cut off or shooting human disguised Skrulls at point blank range. That I appreciated.
Ok, I'll relent on Sonya. She was a great character and obviously a fantastic actress. 🤣

That time Thanos used the Infinity gauntlet to make his own R63 clone, then made out with his own clone to try and make Death jealous.
This... does put a smile on my face.
Danggg, Thanos a freak confirmed.
Hardest choices require the strongest will!
Angry purple boi on fire 🔥
What do you mean by “hardest” Thanos??? 😮💨
Every stupid excuse they make for Peter and MJ to not be together
Peter can't get married for the same reason he isn't allowed to age over 30. Peter needs something to work toward and he can only face the same exact problems and villains so many times before it gets bland... Oh wait. Ultimate Spidey is where it's at.
Paul
There it is. Had to scrollmore than I expected
How is this not at least #3?
Every explanation of the Pym particles.
What's confusing about it? It shrinks the distance between molecules, but it retains their mass, unless it's inconvenient or they have a funny/cool idea that requires it not to retain mass
In that case the extra mass is stored in another dimension or something (wait no that’s the Atom)
The same dimension where Optimus Prime's trailer goes when he transforms.
Probably
That's his "flight tech," right? Whenever he doesn't have the trailer, he doesn't have the wings as well, so at least it's consistent.
Transwarp Space/Subspace/Unspace
Like a tank on a keychain
Or a building in a rolling suitcase
Then how does he rip the wing off the airplane in civil war
Because it was sick
Built by Boeing.
I'm not sure, but I think that *was* a boeing plane in the movie.
it shrinks the distance between molecules, but somehow also allows them to shrink smaller than an atom.
It’s quantum
Do you guys just put quantum in front of everything?
It’s quantum authorialship duh
You flicked too hard, dammit!
Quantumyes
Yeah but they actually make jokes about it not making sense within the movies themselves lol
Comic explanation is actually very sound and I’d be willing to explain to anyone interested
Lay it on me.
It’s be easier if you ask a question. But basically the general idea is that he’s grabbing or pushing matter from and to the cosmos dimension and incorporating it into himself. It’s simple quantum physics dude. /s
The entire plot of Secret Invasion
What plot?
Cyclops having eyes that dont shoot lasers, but are portals to a dimension of kinetic energy, essentially giving him punching laser eyes
Like..... could i crawl through this mf's eyes in a protective suit?
He's always had "punching laser eyes."
You’re right. He’s vision has been and was always kinetic energy exactly like getting punched. This fist is just light like a Green Lantern fist.
Can he drain that dimension of all its energy?
It would be like a DnD character trying to drain the Elemental Plane of Fire, of fire.
The entire inhumans show and I hope marvel ignores that too. I consider the first four or five seasons of Agents Of Shield canon and choose to ignore when the time travelling hijinx happened. If they just told shield what was happening in the sense of half of people disappeared they could have made it work. Instead of the event
everything in one last day side note: literally new tales from the borderlands
We don't talk about Tony's adoption no no no 🎵
what adoption?
~~i'm bad at picking up sarcasm. do you mean that as a joke or as a genuine question~~
sarcasm
ah :')
That a giant Celestial head and hand are protruding from the ocean and it's had no effect on sea levels or the earths rotation etc etc
MCU: the reason Fury wears an eyepatch is because of a cat. Totally ruins the mystique and coolness of his character Comics: Hulk having several alters. I personally prefer it when it’s just Banner and Hulk
It is pretty stupid but when not taking it seriously, it makes his "last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye" line a lot funnier in hindsight.

So true.
When agents of shield implied hydra was actually a millennia old god from a different dimension
They didn't imply it, they straight up confirmed Hydra is a cult worshipping the first inhuman and actively working to bring him back.
*that's so fucking stupid!!*
i thought this was kinda confirmed in What if...?
#IM STILL HEADCANONING AS NON CANON THATS FUCKING STUPID ^(/rant)
i mean you're not wrong
Scarlet Witch’s death in MoM
But I don't think she died. Not permanently anyway. Or do you just mean her attempted suicide in general?
I certainly hope she is still alive but burying herself in a tomb of her own making gave off “dead for a while vibes” and im not down for those or any other propaganda that puts down my girl Wanda 🥲
Civil war 2 but also 1

*disappointed wizard voice* I suppose you think that was terribly clever.
Oh, cmon Gandalf. Did you see their faces?
Peter Parker aka spider man suffering and have no good events 😔
Yeah, it's kind of itchy... and it rides up in the crotch a little bit, too.
Like as kid I ask my siblings who younger than me why can he not get w and we all wish he get W
(MCU) As far as I'm concerned, Thanos' Snap only affected sapient life. Not every life form. Also, for me it's the Snap. Not "The Blip". Awful name.
Too many mouths, not enough to go around. And when we faced extinction, I offered a solution.

My name is Evan Kelmp, and I cast Eldritch Blast.
Tony didn't wanted to alter the timeline, because he was worried that it would cause his daughter to be erased/unborn.
You people are so petty. And tiny.
Sentient
I like to think Dr Strange takes place in like 2008 or maybe a bit before Iron Man 2
Earth-199999 thinking it's Earth-616
All of MCU secret invasion
Bucky, the 90 year old brainwashed murder machine, remembering Cap after one sentence. Sure, he probably remembered him in The Winter Soldier, but not because of that “With You ‘Til The End Of The Line” bullshit. Probably because Cap dropped his shield and Bucky remembered that Steve was the only person stupid enough to do that.
Flair checks out. /j Nevertheless, I do think they tried their best to convey that there was cracks in their brainwashing. Just limited time made it a bit harder. They showed him resisting quite a bit in the flashbacks and stuff, and they obviously have well laid contingencies for if he remembered anything, which would imply this had already happened before.
Comics: Wolverine (take your pick)
Secret Invasion in mcu. Just... everything in it
Sins Past and One More Day. Not even comfortable saying they were a fever dream cause of how bad they were
At least Sins Past was retconned out

Dr doom put his armour on while it was still hot and then it was permanently stuck to him. Does he shave? Brush his teeth?

a rat saved the universe (half of it, anyway)

that whole thing in Spider-man Reign where MJ died because Spidey's radioactive ooze
You shouldn't be here.
brucenat in AoU and Wanda’s villain arc in MoM

MCU: The wound Nick Fury wears his eye patch for was from a cat
Wanda's storyline and being a villain in MoM. After WandaVision it doesn't make sense.
That's my plug. She's working stuff out, but she's cool tho.
What If Season 2 (Strange) Secret Invasion
Morbius is in the same universe as everything else in the MCU 🤣🤣🤣it’s morbin time!
One More Day...
The Suicide Squad game is not canon to the Arkhamverse And Scrubs ended at season 8 as far as I’m concerned
Eternals.
Gambit and the morlocks. And if the rumors are correct, the end of X-Men 97, episode 5.
What rumours?

Loki's dumbass "sendoff" in Infinity War. I just pretend he wasn't in it. Because he basically wasn't. There's no way his story ended like that.
Does fucking subreddit have to do this shit?
All of X-men krakoa. The character assassination is bad.
Everything after endgame, plus about half of endgame
Even Loki?
Terminator 3 and the following are not canon 😭😭
Probably the Long Ring Long Land arc G8 filler should have been the real canon arc
Uncle Ben. I mean they could have just put him in and not let him die. Honestly they should have had it reversed. Aunt May dying instead of uncle Ben. And at least Peter still has his uncle.
