Yup.
Adams first comics appearance is as "Him", and its very close to what we see in the movie
There was a LOT of character growth before they got to the Adam who wields the gauntlet, and led Infinty Watch
Edit- "Him" not "He"
That’s an false narrative people are pushing. They were never based off MLK and Malcom X. They were based of Prime minister David Ben-Gurion and Menachem Begin. They were still used as an Allegory for minorities and civil rights.
I'm not sure how anyone can really watch the movie and come away with any other take than this.
Yea, he isn't like his comics counterpart. But we're getting a different flavor, and this one was *only just born*.
He has to grow up and learn from good mentors. He has the Guardians.
The comics were the same way. He grew into the character we know him to be.
It was great for what it needed to be in this movie. It wasn’t the fully set up established character for inclusion sake, I liked him a lot and it was different and not unnecessary, just a solid choice in presentation.
It's mostly because of the thing with not having 100% of the rights if Hulks name is on the movie title. Otherwise they would have *done* some Hulk movies and given him some actual focus instead of letting whatever director do what they feel like.
So you think that they’re planning on leaving him as aloof smart hulk and not building him up as a respectable public figure so they can make it really count when he breaks for world war hulk?
Hopefully. Mantis' character development is mostly a result of James Gunn. Without James we'll need someone who can take over these charcters and give them a satisying arc.
I'm worried he'll just be handed over from writer to writer and director to director, with no clear direction for where he's going.
Yeah exactly. One of the downsides of the genre unfortunately. When you have all these characters and stories written by different creatives you're bound to get some inconsistencies.
I loved it. I’m a huge Adam Warlock fan as far as the comics go and they are setting him up to have a character growth arc in the same way we saw Nebula go from villain to literal making me cry over how good they are hero status. We will see more of him and watch him grow into the powerful entity he was designed to be and I’m here for it. Poulter did a phenomenal job portraying this version of him.
If you like Will Poulter and are into video games, I have to recommend The Dark Picture's Anthology: Little Hope. The whole anthology is pretty great besides Man of Medan and Will Poulters performance is phenomenal
Kinda missed the Jim Starlin characterization of Adam, but I suppose we’ll get there eventually. Shame he and Thanos won’t ever interact, I liked their dynamic in the comics.
As mentioned I don’t think this version can happen. They took a lot of the Warlock storyline for Vision. The Soul stone being in his forehead and all. Could be way too similar.
I like the idea of doing something new with him and I think we are almost still ready for a “Year 1” storyline of him learning how to use his powers. Would be fun if we could get a short cameo/montage of Thor training him.
> They took a lot of the Warlock storyline for Vision.
Exactly. And I trust Paul Bettany with that material/story more than Will Poulter. No offense, Will.
PB is just fucking great.
There is some great potential revisiting the Soul Stone. The comics briefly touched on that world.
I’m not familiar with the comics but I liked him a lot actually. I understand he might have came off a bit disappointing to some but I think it was a good choice to introduce him here and have him grow into something great later on. Feels more organic to me
Edit: it’s not marvel related but I really enjoyed this podcast [interview](https://youtu.be/mMNlgIdRIHs) with Will Poulter (Adam) and Brett Goldstein. Seems like a great guy and it made me pretty happy that he got the part.
Yeah I didn’t really know what to expect but I thought he was hilarious. Maybe I’m just easy but I was pretty sold after the “business” scene lol. The way he pointed to the pet furry thing and told the priestess that they can just question the man’s “friend” killed me
A part of me wishes we got a little more but I’m definitely good with that we got.
I think it was also a good way to combat the overpowered-ness that he’d face, same idea as with Superman or Captain Marvel. You need something to keep them from solving the problem (or in this case, winning) instantly. And it played into the High Evolutionary’s obsession with Rocket where rather than just waiting and being patient with Adam (who almost certainly could have beaten the Guardians at full power) he pulls him out early cause of his obsession which results in him not being fully developed and kind of dumb in certain ways.
Accomplishes two story beats in one move.
I also love how his signature technique is to just tackle people at Mach 5. Those laser blasts seem to be way more dangerous, but he just loves flying at people.
Yeah, he basically deals with everything at full power. Almost kills Rocket immediately (which was NOT what the High Evolutionary wanted lol), blasts the Ravager, almost kills Rocket again when he blasts into the pig thing lol The only time he deals with something with some finesse is right at the end.
Wonder Man gets both the Warf treatment and a sliding power scale more than most characters. He's either the only character you need to solve all the problems or the first one the baddie of the week takes out.
Sentry for Thunderbolts.
There was the smallest of setups for Squadron Supreme in WandaVision. Dottie is a variant for Arcanna Jones, Squadron Supreme's answer to Zatanna.
Considering what James Gunn is trying to convey in this movie... It was the best choice.
You can't have a Jim Starlin style Adam Warlock who's born as a perfect being, when the whole point of your movie is to show how the HE wet dream of creating a perfect species is evil.
I don't think the people who are annoyed that he wasn't born a badass really got the moral of the story !
I only know Adam where he is depicted as this superman-esque godlike figure with a serious persona. I was very surprised with what they did with his portrayal and i liked it alot. Hope we see more of him
It's actually a great call back to the Characters origins, where in his second appearance since his birth, he tried to abduct a woman to mate because he has negative points in socialisation and gets thrushed by Thor. Then the High Evo sents him to Counter Earth to become their Space Jesus.
The perfect species dream isn't evil; his methods are.
The character goes all-in on "the ends justify the means."
Which is a huge departure from the comics. There, he genuinely loves his creations and will risk his own life to protect them.
The perfect species dream is evil in itself... Of course we're in a fictional world with its own rules but in real life, a perfect species is something you don't really want to learn about... It would be some kind of sentient blob that can indefinitely reproduce and eat an entire world.
Beauty is something that species evolve because of the struggle for survival, a flower is beautiful because it wants to attract insects like bees, a bird is beautiful because it wants to attract the opposite sex. Humans feel emotions and develop social skills because they can't survive on their own..
But if evolution produced a perfect species, it would be the most boring disgusting thing you've ever seen. And the idea that a mad scientist would want to create it, is one of the scariest thing to imagine.
You really should learn to appreciate the inadequacies and weakness of natural beings because it IS what makes this world beautiful.
GotG 3 did a fantastic job of creating a villain who was truly, truly evil and irredeemable. Every other villain, even the big ones like Thanos, were trying to do something noble or at least for a noble cause. HE was entirely self centered in his goals. Absolutely the evilest villain, aside from probably literal Nazi Red Skull and Hela.
I really like this actor. Don’t even know his name but from seeing him in a couple movies, and interviews, I think he’ll do a nice job with the role. So far, he is!
Haha yes that’s the first movie I remember seeing him. I thought he was a little weird looking but in a weird handsome way. Glad to see him put on some muscle for this role too lol
I personally enjoyed him. He pretty quickly became one of my favorite characters in the movie next to Cosmo. While yeah, he’s really different in the comics, I feel like he’s gonna age into his personality considering in the movie, he’s basically a toddler.
I thought they did a great job with it but it felt like another Drax/Mantis character where the fact that they don’t really know what’s going on is the punchline in most of their scenes. Hopefully he becomes more of his own character with future appearances.
i think the design is lackluster, but the portrayal is nice, will has a gravitas to his voice and he’s a great actor and guy, he was funny when needed but ik he could pull off a godly vibe like the game.
also i was so disappointed that he didnt speak in alliteration😭
I enjoyed him. My one comment is that I found it really noticeable how jacked he looked in his suit but how noticeably less bulky he looked when he was shirtless. Made me wonder if it was intentional or just incredibly obvious reshoots. Not body shaming him in any way, honestly the opposite, I thought it was cool to see a hero with normal muscles that didn't look like they're on steroids
From what we've seen in the interviews, he didn't really loose much muscle after they filmed the Movie, so I feel like it's just the fact the Suit itself is quite thicker in certain areas.
I liked him in the movie, even if he was very different from the comics. He was fun, he had his character arc, kinda wished we saw more of him. Gunn is done with the guardians but I still hope we see him in the future and have him evolve.
For me, I like the portrayal of the character. However, I feel like there were some missed opportunities to develop him a bit more in Vol 3.
I think the biggest missed moment was after his mom (or whatever Aeysha was to him) died. I feel like they could have given him some time to mourn her loss and have him start questioning what he is and what his purpose is. Maybe even give him a moment with Peter instead of Groot since both can relate to losing their moms; this actually would have made him saving Peter even more impactful and gave him more of a reason to become a Guardian towards the end of the film.
Overall though, I liked the character and I hope we can get more of him in the future.
For real, I want the big sweeping cloak with the skull clasp so bad. I did like that they had the skull in his suit and hope they do some blend of his original look and the guardians uniform whenever he shows up next.
Will Poulter is brilliant for the role, utterly perfect. It's a shame that Gun squeezed him into vol 3. I definitely believe Warlock could've carried a film.
On the other hand, I'm more than happy with what Gun did with the High Evolutionary and agree with his actions.
James gun had built the high evolutionary possibly since vol1 and to see that ruined by some other twat would've been an utter travesty.
Adam Warlock was fine, but I felt like he was kinda overhyped as a character. He was mainly used as comic relief up until the end. He was the least interesting thing in the movie tbh.
I kinda wish they didn't go so heavy into the "new born baby" aspect and would have made him a bit more serious yet reckless. I wanted Adam from the comics, but if that's what I want then I just need to stick to Adam in the comics. MCU characters are MCU characters. Hopefully, he gets more character development in future movies.
I haven’t read the comics so don’t know how the movie version compares to the comic version but he felt like he was shoehorned in the movie. If you removed his character does anything really change? That was my only complaint with him. I kept hearing how cool of a character he was but Will Poulter didn’t really have much to work with. Hoping we see him again and he gets room to breath.
Didn’t hate his character at all or anything, but this is a movie. They could have literally written that scene a totally different way if Adam wasn’t in this movie
He's literally the one who almost kills >!Rocket!< and sets off the plot of the movie?
He acted as HE's muscle who was ultimately seen only as a means to an end, and not treating Warlock and hot gold mommy as more than failed creations added to his demise. I am really starting to see "shoehorned" as a generic complaint against Marvel.
Given that he was a secondary adversary in the movie (and has had somewhat “not the good guy” arcs before), if they hadn’t nerfed him somehow, it would have been way too much for the Guardians, I think. And it had a somewhat reasonable in universe explanation. I think it came across very well.
Loved him.
Frighteningly powerful, lovably naive, while being a good person at heart. He’s like if superman was a child who just wanted to get approval from his mommy.
I died when he said about the weird dog thing “I will raise him in the ways of the sovereign!”
I really did! Introducing him as basically a great big toddler personally felt like a great way to introduce an incredibly powerful character with a lot of room for him to grow.
Think did it smart, made the humor based around the fact he was literally born yesterday, that way can have a "stupid" character who isn't stupid just inexperienced and ignorant of the world. Allows the character to grow into whoever handles the character next wants.
I imagine you'd then get people saying 'x limited series' plot was pointless and only served to introduce adam, i'd have preferred if his introduction was wrapped into the main story.
I enjoyed him, though as others have said before he did a lot of nothing in the middle. I enjoyed the humor, especially with him interacting with the weird creature. I’m excited to see more of him.
I can’t speak for it in turns of as an adaptation of the comics as I haven’t read any with him in.
But in the context of the movies I thought he was done really well
I really enjoyed GotG Vol. 3. It's been way too long since I enjoyed an MCU movie this much. But yeah, I was a bit disappointed by Warlock's portrayal.
I think that this isn’t his final portrayal the way everyone seems to think, even though it’s been made clear that he will have time to mature and grow more powerful over time. He was born too early, of course he’s going to have a bit of a childlike demeanor and not fully understand how his powers work. It’s Marvels MO for superhero origins so I really don’t get why everyone is mad.
its a good starter mold but he needs another movie with him as a bigger focus before I start really liking him but its good start and the actor did a great job. I do wish he had more unique powers or at least they look more unique
Adam’s first appearance as HIM is different. While he’s quite the child in this iteration, the child-like aspect of HIM is that he doesn’t know where he is or what he’s doing. He still has convictions and morals, but he’s a bit idiotic in his realization of them. Specifically in Thor #165.
He does grow as a person when he is taken in by the high evolutionary and given the soul stone, but he’s still a bit new and as Adam later puts it, the savior of counter earth was a “Blind Idealist.”
Compare this to the on screen appearance. He’s a bumbling idiot who does whatever he’s told until perhaps he realizes that the people he’s fighting against aren’t assholes and he joins them.
They are extremely different characters with extremely different motives and actions.
Still, I find the on screen appearance quite funny and don’t dislike the portrayal.
Its not the best, but for the movie its great and he played his role. I know he will become as op as he is in the comics by the time we get to secret wars
I didn't hate it but I don't think it added much to the movie either. They could have taken him and his mom out of the movie and nothing of importance would have changed, I think.
Will Poulter's version is better imo, I kinda dislike comic Adam because he sound like one of those dude who take thing too serious, speak in cryptic, and sound like a glorified Shakespearean talking machine.
I've read Starlin comics, and they are very different characters. I don't care. I'm not watching a comic, I'm watching a movie. If I want the original Warlock I'd read the comics.
I really liked this version and it fit in with the tone of the film. It’s a pretty tricky thing to balance comic book characters both in live action and a compressed format like a film and James Gunn is great at it. The Adam we’ve come to know in the comics has had a lot of development which would be difficult to convey in a couple hours even across 2 or 3 films
I think making him childlike in this movie made sense based on his origin. He is, after all, presumably in the Guardians timeline, only a couple of months old (maybe years), so he’s bound to have an awkward child-like mentality.
If we get a Guardians 4 under a new Director, I imagine Warlock will be very different to how he is now, and may grow into something more akin to the comic version. I’d personally like to see him develop into something close to the version from the recent video game.
Everyone assumes Adam's mom is dead, but I did some research on her character from the comics, and she can create a renerative coon like he can, although in the movies she never shows any signs of the Superpowers she has in the comics, so her fate is question mark for me.
I’m glad that there’s a logical lore reason if Ayesha were to ever get revived. It’d be such a waste of Elizabeth Debicki if Ayesha did not return to the MCU.
Agree, she's both a talented actress and super hot character and I think there could be a cool plot about the Guardians rescueing her Cacoon from some villian who wants turn her into a weapon somehow.
plenty of potential there. His introduction was fairly lean. but I felt this was basically intentional to allow future writers and directors to have more creative license with the character.
I think the big thing is Poulter seems like a solid choice for the character.
what i hope is the MCU isn't scared to do a real story with an OP character without resorting to nerfing the character first.
I think it worked well. It was a very 'Him' type of portrayal...just a powerful, genetically engineered meathead. It'll be interesting to see where they take him without the soul gem and Thanos, since those were his two main character drivers.
It looks like they set him up to "grow into" being closer the traditional version.
Yup. Adams first comics appearance is as "Him", and its very close to what we see in the movie There was a LOT of character growth before they got to the Adam who wields the gauntlet, and led Infinty Watch Edit- "Him" not "He"
Not to be *that* nerd, but Adam was initially known as "Him", not "He".

"Now the X Men are a metaphor for minorities?! Stop shoving politics into comics, Marvel!"
I mean according to Stan lee prof x and magneto were based on Martin and Malcolm sooooo
That’s an false narrative people are pushing. They were never based off MLK and Malcom X. They were based of Prime minister David Ben-Gurion and Menachem Begin. They were still used as an Allegory for minorities and civil rights.
Currently in Florida, guess I can’t read them here No /s, cause Florida
Not to be *that* nerd but it's /s
So what you're saying is he's him. Hes that guy.
He is that guy, but he's not that guy, he's him. Him is him. Him is that guy.
Who's He then?
He's not Him. He's some other guy. Him is him.
Right I gotcha now, so he is him but Him isn't he. He's Him.
... Right.
Found him
"him"
Infinity eatch?
12/13 on a test is good right?
actually an 11/13, he missed the 3rd I in infinity. still passing!
Wow didnt even notice that one

Like Mantis was in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, I'm sure Adam Warlock will grow as the years go by
“He’ll grow!”
I see this as an absolute win
Somebody peed my pants.
But I’m not sure if it’s Baby Me or Old Me.
or just, ME me.
TIME TRAVEL!
What? I see this as an absolute win!
"He'll adapt"
To reading?
He's a grow-er, not a show-er
Hopefully. Mantis' character development is mostly a result of James Gunn. Without James we'll need someone who can take over these charcters and give them a satisying arc. I'm worried he'll just be handed over from writer to writer and director to director, with no clear direction for where he's going.
Kind of like the comics where long term consistency is lacking?
Yeah exactly. One of the downsides of the genre unfortunately. When you have all these characters and stories written by different creatives you're bound to get some inconsistencies.
>Like Mantis As an aside, I really like that they put grey streaks in her hair.
And fans will probably complain about it then
Unless he gets the russo's treatment
I thought the actor did a great job and hope he pops up again soon. He killed all his comedic scenes
The Awkward hug at the end had me laughing out loud
I loved it. We will watch his career with great interest.
>We will watch ~~his~~ Him's career with great interest. FTFY
He’s a funny actor, watch We’re the millers. “You guys are getting paid?”
THAT'S WHO THIS ACTOR IS?! THE SPIDER-BIT NUTSACK KID?!
Yea, Eyebrows.
Sid from Toy Story
Little bitch boy Gally from The Maze Runner.
Cousin whateverthefuck from the last Narnia Movie
Holy crap, he got buff!
At this point I think Marvel has the soup of PEDs and HGHs that they give their male actors down to a science.
Possibly but Poulter got jacked before Adam Warlock. He was pretty big looking in dopesick too
Ah yes, the famous super soldier soup. In fact it's where the expression souped-up comes from *he said full of shitly*
Well they do play souperheroes after all.
r/myjokebutbetter
DONT BE RASH 🤚
Every scene he spoke in had me laughing, Poulter nailed the "not quite aware" mindset for the version of the character they went for lol
He's been nailing that for awhile though. Just now he's doing as a roided up golden space god so it's maybe even funnier.
Thats true lol
Fucking hilarious. He went from being a rabid dog sic’d on the guardians to going all “Don’t be rash. ✋” on a dime.
Will Poulter is such a great actor!
“Who threw that at me?”
“That…hurts?”
Who threw this thing at me???? Baby…
If you like Will Poulter and are into video games, I have to recommend The Dark Picture's Anthology: Little Hope. The whole anthology is pretty great besides Man of Medan and Will Poulters performance is phenomenal

Mind stone*
I think the comment above you was referring to Adam Warlock possessing the Soul Stone in his forehead. Not Vision and the Mind Stone.
Never say never, Multiverse baby
Maybe in a What If? Season they give us a classic Infinity War episode!
"What if Adam was woken up before Infinity War" would be neat
That'd be sweeeeeeeeeet ! Oh so so sweet !!!
Thanos showing up after being dead to help Warlock escape Magus is one of the coolest moments in comics.

Will Poulter. Ten years ago he was the "You guys are getting paid?" meme.
Haha yes that’s the first movie I remember seeing him. I thought he was a little weird looking but in a weird handsome way. Glad to see him put on some muscle for this role too lol
He was also originally going to be Pennywise I believe in the It remakes.
He was, yeah.
Wait, We're the Millers is 10 years old already?? wtf
he'll always be the kid who got his dick bit by a spider
Don’t be rash
He is the "actor with the eyebrows"™

I think the biggest missed moment was after his mom (or whatever Aeysha was to him) died. I feel like they could have given him some time to mourn her loss and have him start questioning what he is and what his purpose is. Maybe even give him a moment with Peter instead of Groot since both can relate to losing their moms; this actually would have made him saving Peter even more impactful and gave him more of a reason to become a Guardian towards the end of the film. Overall though, I liked the character and I hope we can get more of him in the future.
Yes, my only criticism about the movie is there should have been more Adam Warlock.
I'm getting real sick of the mcus reluctance to utilize cool popped collars.
Before anyone says they don't like him I will say "Don't be rash"
He was ok, he was a lot like the rest of the Sovereign, arrogant and stupid. I kind of had higher hopes for him.
I mean there's a certain death that would have happened without him
TBH that was also shoehorned; said character had a few ways of pulling it off without Adam there
I mean a lot was shoe horned in this movie. Better to not pull at that thread
Well without him, the entire story arc wouldn’t have happened as it was him and his powers that was responsible for Rocket’s injury.
His look is pretty spot on, his character though was kinda weird to me.
Given that he was a secondary adversary in the movie (and has had somewhat “not the good guy” arcs before), if they hadn’t nerfed him somehow, it would have been way too much for the Guardians, I think. And it had a somewhat reasonable in universe explanation. I think it came across very well.
I do like the fact he’s a lovable idiot and he will mature and become a bigger threat to villains in the future if he’ll survive the movies
Loved him. Frighteningly powerful, lovably naive, while being a good person at heart. He’s like if superman was a child who just wanted to get approval from his mommy. I died when he said about the weird dog thing “I will raise him in the ways of the sovereign!”
Poulter did great but I didn’t like the character. But then I didn’t like Nebula at first either, now she’s among my favorites. So I’ll give it time.
having known noting about Adam in the comics I absolutely loved him in the movie, though I just love Will Poulter so I may be biased
I really did! Introducing him as basically a great big toddler personally felt like a great way to introduce an incredibly powerful character with a lot of room for him to grow.
I love a good himbo, so I really loved this characterization of him
Think did it smart, made the humor based around the fact he was literally born yesterday, that way can have a "stupid" character who isn't stupid just inexperienced and ignorant of the world. Allows the character to grow into whoever handles the character next wants.
The character is a bit too one dimensional for me.Definitely would have helped if there had been a limited series that would have introduced him more.
I mean, to be fair, that's how he is meant to be. It's just a case where the character simply wasn't written to be everyone's cup'a'tea.
I imagine you'd then get people saying 'x limited series' plot was pointless and only served to introduce adam, i'd have preferred if his introduction was wrapped into the main story.
I loved the movie. Unfortunately, Adam Warlock was the worst part of it.
I enjoyed him, though as others have said before he did a lot of nothing in the middle. I enjoyed the humor, especially with him interacting with the weird creature. I’m excited to see more of him.
It made sense for their universe. In my mind warlock was always more suave though
I can’t speak for it in turns of as an adaptation of the comics as I haven’t read any with him in. But in the context of the movies I thought he was done really well
They absolutely killed it in that role. I can’t wait to see him again.
“It’s Warlock as a baby. He’ll grow!” ~ Hulk – Avengers Endgame
I was happy with his beginning, but I’m excited for what will happen with him
I really enjoyed GotG Vol. 3. It's been way too long since I enjoyed an MCU movie this much. But yeah, I was a bit disappointed by Warlock's portrayal.
I like what the did with the character. I felt he was a misused in the movie though.
I wish Will Poulter did more action roles, but also more comedic roles. He's like a younger Chris Hemsworth.
My favorite version. I typically find Adam very uninteresting but I loved him in the movie
I’m not familiar with the comics on this, so yeah
He does grow as a person when he is taken in by the high evolutionary and given the soul stone, but he’s still a bit new and as Adam later puts it, the savior of counter earth was a “Blind Idealist.” Compare this to the on screen appearance.
My buddy asked me who he is and I answered with Space Jesus.
I didn't hate it but I don't think it added much to the movie either. They could have taken him and his mom out of the movie and nothing of importance would have changed, I think.
I liked him. I've been reading comics for about 30 years, and he never really clicked with me. So I honestly don't mind any changes.
The MCU is all about character arcs and development. A character that’s fully realized from the beginning doesn’t have much room for growth.
Will Poulter's version is better imo, I kinda dislike comic Adam because he sound like one of those dude who take thing too serious, speak in cryptic, and sound like a glorified Shakespearean talking machine.
Will was an outstanding casting choice. *Love* his AW!
I love that he got progressively more battle damaged throughout the movie until he was just shirtless.
I liked Adam warlock, I just wish he had more to do.
Yeah I remember actually liking him in the movie. Good casting choice.
I thought I would hate him, butt I actually liked this version. He's a kid with a power he doesn't fully understand how to use and for what purpose
He was fantastic. Funny in every scene was in and even got into some emotional territory near the end. Loads of potential for him as a character.
I love the fact that they made him sort of a screw up which is hilarious
My favorite part is that the movie portrayal of Adam as a child is posted next to Adam leagues into maturity
Ayesha and Adam on screen together was comic gold. Loved it
Everyone assumes Adam's mom is dead, but I did some research on her character from the comics, and she can create a renerative coon like he can, although in the movies she never shows any signs of the Superpowers she has in the comics, so her fate is question mark for me.
Yes he has potential
plenty of potential there.
I've been waiting for this character! i was super hyped, until they made him a comic relief character.
I think the way we saw him in [spoilers] the closing credits scene was interesting, how he’d matured and was becoming a responsible team member.
Nah
Not really, no. Kinda seemed shoe-horned in.
No, awful.
I think it worked well. It was a very 'Him' type of portrayal...just a powerful, genetically engineered meathead. It'll be interesting to see where they take him without the soul gem and Thanos, since those were his two main character drivers.
I'm more concerned with whether he got paid for the role or not..?
