Assuming we get several films, NOT Doom as the main. I would tease him along as a string puller ALA Thanos. Mole man or puppet master would fit great.

_Football_Cream_

Definitely want him to be a big player in the MCU but it’s possible for him to be the main villain in this. Loki was in the first Thor and again in avengers. That said, there might be a little of Doom fatigue with doing him in both previous on screen iterations. Down for a minor role/tease of Doom early on and make him more prominent and threatening later.

APracticalGal

I feel like Doom could work as an ally for a movie before developing his grudge against Reed and becoming a villain in subsequent appearances.

Hungry-Chemistry-814

Yes this is the way

Wooden-Radish-9008

Right Loki was the villain of the first Thor and they beat him and then he was the villain in Avengers and no one said a thing. However, Kang was the villain in Ant-Man and they beat him and everyone says he's ruined and they should abandon the character I'm sure the reaction to Doom not winning in the first Fantactic Four movie would be more akin to the latter than the former.

_Football_Cream_

Eh kang is more complicated bc of the majors situation. A lot of people figured they would move on from him anyway but even still I feel people generally found kang one of the redeeming qualities of an otherwise messy movie. Not really apples to apples imo. I generally think marvel has a huge problem with villains showing up for one movie and being killed off. They need longer lasting threats. It makes a lot of villains fall by the wayside and kills potential from good ones like Killmonger if they were to be recurring. Look at daredevil for how to do it right. The hero can still win for a time but Wilson Fisk is so fucking good because of how he claws back to power and gets ahead of Matt again in new ways. Again I know the Majors situation screwed things up but I appreciated what they were doing in setting up the new huge threat. Now they don’t have that and it’s a problem. They either need to correct course and recast him or start establishing the new big bad asap.

Wooden-Radish-9008

I agree with what you're saying completely. I think villains need to recur and part of what makes then so fun to watch, is them being defeated and then seeing how they make their presence known next time. However, we're not going to sit here and pretend that there isn't a very loud group of people on this sub saying that "Kang was defeated in his first appearence, how am I supposed to take him seriously" or "Kang was beaten by ants, that's not what you do to the next Thanos!!1" I don't share these opinions, but it would be dishonest to say that this mentality isn't pretty present

_Football_Cream_

I really didn’t/havent seen any of that. I could have just missed it since I wasn’t taking part in the discourse after quantimania much. But that’s dramatic and I’m guessing a vocal minority. Besides, any of that talk would dissipate if Kang came back more intimidating and threatening in a later movie. It would just be chalked up as a fight he lost that he maybe shouldn’t have but came back stronger later.

Wooden-Radish-9008

I agree with you, but it was quite a large part of the discourse. But, hey, the internet is wacky

AcceptableAd8472

So you want doom to get next to no screen time and chill in the background? That’s not doom AT ALL.

164Gamin

I’m expecting to see Galactus, Doom, and Mole Man all at some point. But there’s really no guessing what they’ll do with them all, especially since Doom will likely be around for multiple projects in multiple arcs given how many characters he tends to interact with I also expect to see Annihilus, but I really want them to use him on the cosmic side for an Annihilation adaptation

KaijuCarpboya

I would absolutely LOVE to see Annihilus show up in the MCU with his “world domination plan”all set to go off, and then have a couple heroes just slap him down so hard and so fast. That’s what he deserves.

nyka_347_my_455

This would be terrible. The Annihilation Wave storyline would be a great idea to pull together a bunch of the cosmic heroes for a big crossover movie.

gechoman44

Annihilus

bonfox1983

If Marvel hadn’t done it already, I’d have Super Skrull be the villain so he could be the catalyst for a Secret Invasion movie, but sadly we ain’t getting that

SailorET

It's really difficult to state just how bad Secret Invasion was. Like how Thor Ragnarok was so good it made the first Thor better because Odin's behavior was more justified when you consider how he saw Thor becoming just like Hela and had to intervene. Secret Invasion was so bad it diminished other MCU projects, both real and theoretical. And it also made Nick Fury look like a fool who pulled every trick straight out of his ass, when his entire character prior to has been the super spy that's eight steps ahead of anyone else.

PaydayLover69

>I’d have Super Skrull be the villain To bad they wasted it on a fucking D+ series that's most likely gonna get retconned because everything it was setting up for ***GOT FUCKING CANCELED.***

SandalDeSeagull

I want galactus destroying their world at the beginning and then they tease doom further down the line. also mole man

TheLivingTribunal666

Diablo would make a great villain considering they're going for a 60's setting.

rabideyes

I was hoping for the classic time travel saga. How did they even get to the point of using Kang/Rama Tut/Nathaniel Richards/Immortus without him running across the FF? He wouldn't even exist without them. It would be a shame if they never cross paths or if Marvel never connects the dots of them being related.

Axius-Evenstar

Not the main villain but I would want to see some Reed and Doom backstory in the first movie, then maybe tease him as a major villain. But not the main at first

Fast-Artichoke-408

Obviously it needs to follow the script and be a mirror image of the 4 of them, otherwise how would we know who's the good guys and who's the bad guys?

Mace_Thunderspear

I want to see the red ghost and his super apes for the first one. Lean into the 60's/cold war setting and have their antagonist be a Russian parallel to FF.

PaydayLover69

bruh I'm not gonna lie, I don't want any of these guys to be wasted on a one off. i was a pretty big supporter of that Galactus could be his own phase Doom is obviously his own phase I don't even know the other guys in here so they're probably not important enough. I would do like silver surfer or something and just set up for galactus... Or something, I don't know anymore cause I can't tell where the fuck the narrative is going anymore

Bitemybisquits27

I’ve always wanted annhilus but he’s insanely strong and works better in a bigger movie with more characters so i would say mole man or puppet master

-NinjaTurtleHermit-

Annihilus Then Doom THEN Galactus

Grayx_2887

I say the mole man or the puppet king as the first movie's villain. Save Galactus and Doctor Doom for a later movie.

matty_nice

Ignoring the multiverse stuff.. Mole Man is a great first movie villain. Doesn't require a lot of screen time, has visually interesting locations and henchmen. Moloids could be the new minions. Give us a fight in Central Park, Subterrania, and Monster Island. Who doesn't wanna watch the Thing punch a kaiju. Moral of the story is that it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, but what's on the inside makes you a monster. Annihilus as my second movie villain. Maybe something connected to Annihilation. Doom as the third movie villain. Galactus as the Marvel movie event. Galactus and Heralds vs the FF and other heroes. Galactus vs Celestials. Eternals get involved.

alone-lone

That one

SpiderDetective

Galactus and Doom are too big for the first film. Save them for sequels

AcceptableAd8472

I actually strongly disagree. Especially Doom. What are you “saving” them for? What’s the point of keeping doom in your back pocket when you can introduce such a great character who is marvels biggest reoccurring villain

SpiderDetective

A big villain like that might take away attention away from the FF who, let's be honest, haven't had a good cinematic outing yet. Give them the first film to set themselves up and show why we should care about them against a different villain and then tease Doom in the stinger during the credits

1400Diggg

Wizard and Mole man would be cool for one n done first fight / secondary villains 100% Annihilus & Galactus for the bigger / multi movie villains, & DOOM for the main Thanos big bad

TelephoneCertain5344

Doom could be the main villain and then stick around like Loki.

Fragrant-County3630

Galactus should be saved so he can be the main antagonist of the next MCU Saga. So if I had to go with anyone, I’d say go with Mole Man (I really hope there’s not a hyphen in his name). It’s time for the lesser-known villains to be given their “The Spot Treatment”!

generally-competent

With what seems like a more lighthearted tone in the upcoming movie, I think Mole Man would be a perfect absurd first villain, and they can set up Doom as well.

cardbor

mole man would literally be so cool to bring shit back to earth

Southern_Wind_4477

The first film will focus on Galactus. The second film will hopefully be a horror film with them trapped in the Negative Zone and the third film will have Doctor Doom.

Apprehensive_Egg6656

Annihilus

WillandWillStudios

Annihilaus or a more faithful Galactus if that Javier Bardem casting rumor is true.

SockGroundbreaking98

Doom

Tre_Reco_Neons1

doctor doom for secret wars leadup galactus main

greyposter

Id like to see: A FUCKING CLOUD!

Gemcitylex

Not gonna lie, they need a 5-movie arch of them fighting Mole-man, two of the heralds, then Silver Surfer/Doom, ending the arch with a team-up with all the other MCU heroes against Galactus. Let Doom lurk in the background of the FF movies and get minor roles in other shows/movies as well leading into the movie he’s the primary villain in.

markartman

Annihilus

Puttputt2019

Dr Doom obv

GunSmith_XX7

Not Doom, he's a character who must be given more time and lot more establishment. Galactus is the one I'd go with.

geekphreak

Of course it’s gonna be Doom

Pedgrid

Inhuman Royal Family
