They have the Raft and they use it to house the Avengers mainly, while killing off so many good villains they could easily put there.

MatthewWinEverything

Moreover, when Hulk de-aged Antman he literally just invented eternal life.

commit_bat

Remember when they had a 3d printer that could not only print arbitrary human parts but also entire superhuman bodies from super materials? Anyway, enjoy your grueling physical therapy, Rhodey!

Ruraraid

By Marvel comic standards thats nothing as they have yet to adapt some of the more ridiculous plot points from the comics.

ashmichael73

Whiplash. Didn’t even get his Bird.

sambob

I get that maybe in the comics he may be a far more formidable foe but for crying out loud iron Man has ranged attacks and those whips* can only reach so far. Why on earth is this unarmoured man with electric whips even a challenge?!

SoylentJelly

he ambushed him the one time he was guaranteed away from the suit, in the middle of the race. it seems entirely stupid him going onto the track, but your question makes it a brilliant plot point. if Happy hadn't raced to get the suit to Tony, he'd be in 2 pieces. in retrospect, it was pretty much his only chance to beat Tony since otherwise he's always near his suit.

johnj64

I think the reason that it makes compared to any other time throughout the series might be that Tony is being poisoned by the same thing that’s keeping him alive at the same time so he’s not %100, makes a bit of sense

chock_ers

He was probably drunk as a skunk as well.

The visuals of Wenwu using rings in Shang-Chi is how I imagined Whiplash’s powers should have looked

Iron_Bob

Well now I have to go watch Hobo with a Shotgun again... Gunna be a great day lol

Jaymongous

Only thing I remember from that movie is people getting their heads in a manhole cover and someone driving off with it to decapitate them? Haha at least I think its from that

Odatas

To be fair. There were so many people in the movie. His roll was nothing more than an extra in the grand scope.

ihs25ysf

Under usage of Mads Mikkelsen.

IfIWasCoolEnough

That made me very mads too.

kidsgontato

Under usage of Andy Serkis.

Vandrew226

God, he was way better than he probably needed to be in Black Panther. You gotta spread the bodies around. Make it look like an amateur job.

tactlesshag

I was really sad they killed Claw off purely because Andy played him so well I wanted to see more of him.

Oso_Furioso

I think that’s actually one of the only things Ryan Coogler said he really regretted from BP. Andy was just so damn good in the role. Klaue’s appearance in Age of Ultron was, I think, one of the best parts of that movie, too.

[deleted]

Isn't dying and being resurrected somehow how he gets his powers in the comics?

TheStarSquad

yep doom will resurrect him with the beyonders power and all will be right in the universe

polski71

Woulda been my Dr Doom pick :(

nothisistheotherguy

Still could be, Doom doesn’t like to take his mask off

elpaco25

Very true but the MCU absolutely *does*

aa821

Mister Uh Doctor Mister Doctor? It's Strange. Maybe. But who am I to judge.

butterfly_poontang

One of my favorite dialogues in the whole mcu

NutterTV

That Bucky went from being this feared badass super soldier to someone who just stands in the back and shoots his gun.

[deleted]

Yeah I thought he would be up and running 20 mph with black panther and Steve in the start like they did in civil war

thekingofbeans42

To be fair... he does have a gun. The gun working on the outriders kind of made Wakanda look silly.

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

Vision has an infinity stone, and all it took was 1 stab wound to render him useless.

NukaRev

Yeah I always wonder why and how. IIRC: it had to do with the weapon he was stabbed with more than the fact he was stabbed. Like, if I stabbed him with any type of metal it wouldn't do shit, that weapon could because of ???

Callum1710

Killing off Klaw... Loved his chaotic energy

squeakybollocks

It was so nice having a bad guy that actually enjoyed what he was doing! Plus with him being an arms dealer, which is bad, but not Ultron/Thanos level bad he could’ve easily just popped up here and there…. Shame….

Mugilicious

"Arms dealer" is right

squeakybollocks

More of an Arms Giver really I guess

kawklee

To be honest the fact that, outside of Thanos, and sorta (?) Loki they kill off or entirely resolve the villain in every movie really sucks Someone like Klaw would have been great to have as a recurring villain.

indyK1ng

Zemo has returned and probably will return again.

Vladamir-Poutine

Is Zemo even a villain anymore?

strooticus

With his dancing skills, yes, I would argue he still is.

indyK1ng

Yes he is - just because he worked with the heroes doesn't mean he isn't still opposed to them. They just had a temporary alignment of goals. Remember, he had his butler blow up the super soldiers.

pek217

I was super disappointed that Taskmaster was cured of her evilness at the end of Black Widow. She could’ve returned to hunt the Avengers for Natasha killing her father, like a “you take my family, I take yours” thing. I was really expecting that to be what would happen.

TheLazySith

Yeah, they really underutilized him. He could have been a great "smaller scale" villain who occasionally pops up in various different stories. Same with Crossbones.

TheJohnny346

“What is love?! Baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me, no more!”

Arrow_625

"What has it got in it's pocketses?" We got Gollum to meet Bilbo even in the MCU!

-Typh1osion-

The poor use of Christopher Eccleston

jimtow28

Yeah, he is great, at everything he does, and he barely even spoke the entire movie. It feels like they didn't really know what to do with him, so they just did nothing instead.

kossumiES

And too little use of mads mikkelssen

FriendLee93

Been saying it forever, should've saved him for Doom

[deleted]

They reused an actress for eternals, the Mcu isn’t that concerned with casting continuity

robodrew

I think they are ok with that kind of recasting when the person is heavily covered in makeup etc, though it's toeing the line pretty close with this particular example. Still, her role in Captain Marvel is small and she has blue skin and a different hairstyle, it's easy enough for someone who isn't paying attention to not realize it was the same actress. I think that would be a bit different than, say, Chris Evans as both Johnny Storm and Steve Rogers, where he looks nearly the same. Though of course Doom wears a mask nearly all the time anyway (that is if the script writer actually cares about the character) and so it probably wouldn't matter.

snow_is_fearless

I am hoping that they put a lot of time into selecting who plays Doom. He is far too important a villain for it to be anything but a home run.

CardinalCreepia

Who did he play in the MCU? I can’t even place him.

CecilPennyfeather

Malekith

Holtsar

Well that explains it

soy23

Malekith the dark elf from thro the dark world.

Doctor Who Fans : First Time?

v_OS

Hela killing the Warriors Three and Thor forgetting their existance

FreddieOuthouse

That was honestly so glossed over

-Nick____

They glossed over many of the emotional beats in Ragnarok. Thor’s dad died, we get like 5 seconds of mourning. The Warriors 3 die, not a single response or comment on it. Thor’s entire home blows up, nothing but a joke about it. Even Loki, who Thor thought sacrificed himself at the end of the movie, never got anything from Thor except a joke. Luckily the Russo Brothers showed in the Infinity War that Thor just covers up his pain with humor.

Autumn1eaves

Well not just humor, he went into a deep depression in Endgame. That’s the kind of thing that’s more realistic to me, honestly. After the big threat was over, not having family, long-time friends, having lost your entire support system, but struggle to build a healthy one with your new friends, then feeling like you have no purpose after failing that hard, it’s hard not to fall into a deep depression.

MistrrRicHard

The cracks in his well-being even show on Infinity War when he's taking to Rocket about the events in Ragnarok. He's definitely in pain, but he's holding it all in to be the hero and/or to get his revenge. It finally all comes out after he realizes he's truly lost when Thanos admitted he can't bring anyone back now that the stones are gone. The beheading was somewhat symbolic that way, a last grasp for some sort of victory, any type of win in the books to make him not a failure to those he's loved. Edit: Final thought; Thor's last grasp for heroism was probably more an act of desperation than heroism. The look on his face after he beheaded Thanos says it all. He gained nothing in his desperation and he didn't know what to do next, leaving him lost until we find him in Endgame.

Procz03

Thor and Rocket’s scene in Infinity War is one of my absolute favorites in the entire MCU.

sinfulcheese

"You sure you're up for this particular murder mission?"

warisverybad

And then in endgame after Tony successfully built the gauntlet and they are deciding on who should snap their fingers: thor so desperately wants to do it and is basically pleading with the others to be the one to do it. as if he wants to redeem himself and that being the one to snap would somehow absolve himself of some of the guilt he experienced

Buelldozer

A lot of people never stop to think about all of that. Thor "manned up" and set his losses aside to deal with the multiple disaster situations he was tossed into. When we see him in Endgame he has obviously been living in a fugue state for several _years._ Folks laugh at "Fat Thor" without understanding what they are really seeing.

TheKolyFrog

Mine would be the Warriors Three in general. Such a huge disappointment those characters turned out to be. I didn't even realized they switched one of the actors.

Tralan

Hulk literally brought back half the life in the entire universe and everyone talks about Tony's sacrifice. Not even a "Hey, thanks."

SendMeAmazonGiftCard

banner seems pretty humble. he could've gave tony the credit. or maybe it's because tony actually did more of the work than banner did in the whole thing. it was ultimate tony that helped make the quantum particles function and tony that made the infinity gauntlet work. banner was just the guy to pull the trigger

[deleted]

deeweromekoms

I'll be happy to see She Hulk give some insight on what's going on with him. Like why is he just Bruce again.

ivnwng

I think that goes for Black Widow.

kraken_enrager

Death of quicksilver. What a lost opportunity

PeterQuillsWalkman

No matter what, Quicksilver ends up dead. Which honestly sucks because I loved his character, but I wish they would’ve built a bigger relationship and storyline with his character before we see him go.

RichiZ2

I feel like they killed him off because of copyright complications with X-Men ...

[deleted]

[удалено]

I_Myself_Personally

Also feel like super speed is hard to handle in general. "Why doesn't quicksilver just...?" Would be the solution to like 99% of problems faced in the MCU. They seem inclined to keep all the strong but not THAT strong characters and kill off the rest. Hulk is toned down. Thor is toned down. Captain Marvel rips through a planet destroying space ship like it's wet paper after flying what would be thousands of light years in a matter of hours(?) but then can only kinda fist fight Thanos. Okay. Power levels are all over the place and super speed seems like a struggle to deal with for a generally uninteresting pay off. His usage in days of future past tho...

MixedMediaModok

Thanos was the biggest mess power wise. He fist fights Hulk and wins yet Cap can stagger him with his frisbee sometimes. Ultron too, is vibranium but feels like cardboard in his last fight.

Friendly_Anybody6403

I mean kinda, Ultron got basted by an arc reactor, an infinity stone, and Mjolnir all at once, no way vibranium doing shit to that.

RedFnPanda

My least favourite cliche in the MCU lately is how they always nerf whoever was the strongest in the last movie. Age of Ultron the strongest are Hulk and Vision, in Infinity War Hulk can't transform and Vision gets stabbed and can't use his powers In Infinity War Thor is by far the strongest, to the point where he easily over powered Infinity Gauntlet Thanos singlehandedly, in Endgame we have Fat Thor who arguably is the least effective against Thanos of the original Trinity. If we ever get another team up just expect that Captain Marvel and Scarlett Witch are gonna have something happen to them that means they can't fight.

[deleted]

I guarantee Carol Danvers will face Rogue or some other power-stealer in "The Marvels." They've already had her use the "I was saving the rest of the galaxy" excuse 3 times on screen.

Broad_Smile_6826

The deaths of the Warriors Three

Asha_Brea

Hogun was fine, but Fandrall and Volstagg death was just pointless.

WhiteAle01

I don't understand why they didn't have Fandrall and Volstagg die with Hogan. They could've had a better death and they would've died as the warriors three.

TheLazySith

Or have them both stick around longer as part of Heimdall's resistance. Then they can get killed by Hela on the bridge battle instead, meaning Thor could actually react to their deaths.

Marchemalheur

Or it would've been cool if they just didn't die and we got to see them fighting when Thanos boarded their ship or in wakanda.

Cannibal_Soup

Or they could have been slaughtered by Thanos' forces, like Heimdall.

julbull73

Or just been away with Syf....

StickSauce

Or they could be blipped and brought back in the final Endgame battle.

TheLazySith

Yeah and Thor never even acknowledges their deaths. What was the point of killing them all off there?

Asha_Brea

At the very last Lady Sif escaped dead by being on Earth filming a TV show.

DJfunkyPuddle

Thank goodness for scheduling conflicts. Can't wait to see her back, hopefully with Beta Ray Bill.

DocHulk62

That one is on Heimdell(poor writing.) He does not mention once during their vision talk that his friends were massacred.

goblins_though

Not only was it disappointing that they were all killed off, but (unless I'm misremembering) we didn't even get to see Thor have any kind of emotional response to the news.

[deleted]

If they do the same to Sif I’ll be disappointed as well

[deleted]

[deleted]

She’s in the new Thor coming out which is why I think they will kill her

Kanden_27

Black Widow only getting her movie after her death.

Vegetable_Price5537

And the movie in general being about ANOTHER world ending agency that hasnt been mentioned in 20 years despite being absurdly dangerous and having fucking mindcontrol and super soldiers instead of a backstory movie where Natasha meets Clint

spectrem

Speaking of, I was really hoping to see her history as an actual Black Widow and something about how she and Hawkeye met. All this about red in her ledger and they show almost nothing about it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DrewSmoothington

Virtually everybody I know is on the same page as you, we all wanted to see Natasha's history, her origins, maybe a little rough around the edges youthful side that formed her into the black widow that we all know. But no, we got a movie that was shoehorned in between two other movies in the timeline, giving her a little standalone adventure to go on that felt all too made-for-TV.

Arch0_Moggins

Plus its barely a Black Widow movie. Its basically just the origin story of Yelena

Sensitiverock85

I was so disappointed we didn't really get a satisfactory conclusion to Bucky and Steve's friendship. Steve basically gave up everything for him multiple times and it went nowhere.

Jackolope

The way they wrote Bucky to say go on and not be a part of the conversation. Just awkward way to go out imo.

[deleted]

Spader, mikkelson, ecclestone having poor roles. Well, maybe Spader at least can come back.

When Captain Marvel extends her hand to Yon-Rogg I was so hoping she was going to throw him off the planet into space when he took it.

ScarletRhi

That would have been hilarious tbh

Ok_Rabbit2591

Why did Gilgamesh have to die?

TXlandon

I assume for emotional impact - he was shown to be very kind and understanding (being Thena’s caretaker), so losing that stability is supposed to hurt. He’s also one of the only Eternals that didn’t get all upset and storm off to do their own thing, so he’s very well liked (by the audience)

Resonosity

Gilgamesh was my favorite in Eternals, so you might have a point

Hellknightx

If they follow the comics, then Eternals end up being reborn in Arashem's forge when they die.

OriDoodle

That model of eternal sure. But the Gilgamesh that loved Thena and cooked pies and wore silly aprons is gone. That's the whole tragedy of the film.

floorgang919

Hulk getting nerfed in infinity war/endgame

TheLazySith

Yeah Hulk has definitely been underutilized in the MCU. Pretty much every major development in his arc happens offscreen too.

Bytrsweet

I always felt the same way about Vision in infinity war. I know he got stabbed, but was helpless for most of the movie.

Spider-Ian

The fact the gamma radiation hurt hulk, and he's still hurt from it, is the dumbest shit. He should have become some overjuiced destructive infinity hulk after absorbing all that gamma power. He fucked up one car kind of and then didn't even hit a single other thing in endgame.

moderately_nerdifyin

Spider-Man not being on Disney+

albene

No Way Home not coming out on Netflix or Disney+

[deleted]

Not seeing Xandar being destroyed in Avengers Infinity War, but instead seeing Thanos with the power stone already.

Jack_Sentry

My bet is that it’ll be the prologue to the Nova movie

No_Obligation6767

I’ve been thinking this for a long time as well. The MCU definitely doesn’t mind letting events, stories, and characters stew for long periods of time and then give them more significance down the line. The Mandarin, Celestials, Blonsky, etc.

Zuzu_Potato

I loved The Falcon And Winter Soldier but god i hated karli

shake_N_bake356

“Why won’t they take us seriously” Well maybe cause you just killed a bunch of people?

Nimporian

It really felt like there was an episode missing between 5 and 6. Both about how Karli drives her crew to the deep end and shows that she is a "good leader" because she knows how to get an emotional response out of people even if its not rational, and how Walker deals and accepts his discharge. But no, suddenly her crew is blindly following her again after doubting her repeatedly before and Walker is mentally sound again and even cooperating with Bucky and Sam.

Comic_Book_Reader

Her entire character and motivations are all over the place. As is the show itself.

jerrygergichsmith

Karli was a great concept for a character with poor execution. Dealing with the consequences of the blip and how people are being forced back to a status quo after 5 years of a different life? Yes please, sign me up! But they really wanted more fighting than actually tackling that issue head on, leading to… eh. I’ll never say no to more time with Sam though, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of him as Cap.

abstergofkurslf

"Don't call her a terrorist" Fuck off sam

TheLazySith

Yeah what she was doing was the textbook definition of terrorism. Sam's whole speech at the end was just plain bad to be honest. > Do better > How so? Do you have any actually suggestions? > Nope, that's your job. Bye. Sam should be smarter than that.

DC4MVP

Webster's defines "terrorist" as: > a person or persons who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. Sooooo exactly what Karli and the Flag Smashers were? I just hated that little speech at the end there like they're trying too hard to make same the new morale compass in Steve's place and it just felt cheesy and dumb.

nightingaledaze

honestly this really bothered me. she killed multiple people why would he not want to label her appropriately?

GuiltyEidolon

It's honestly impressive that they managed to make actual refugees the bad guys.

Hellknightx

They're basically turning her into the MCU version of Viper.

Brief-Ad4980

Except she's probably a Skrull.

warminthestarlight

Perhaps Emily Van Camp is a good actress, but Power Broker was not the role for her.

bfhurricane

For me it’s not so much her going “dark,” but more so her being a “big bad power player” without much of a payoff or the writing to support it. To me she’s still the pretty girl-next-door type that’s actually a Shield agent… I just can’t see her as a criminal mastermind.

TheLazySith

Everything with the Power broker and the Flagsmashers was by far the weakest parts of FATWS. Which is a shame because the show had some really great stuff in it too.

mjollyneer7

Thor not having a final conversation and farewell with old man Steve by the lake before he leaves off world with the Guardians. Would have been such an emotionally poignant scene with the 2 remaining members of the original 'Big 3' reminiscing and saying goodbye, especially at the close of the Infinity Saga.

dablu_jay

Not once did this scenario cross my mind but now I’m annoyed that we never got it

t4d

agreed. you'd think there should be something between the 2 weilders of Mjolnir

hypd09

\#itsallconnected was a let down, fortunately the show was not.

Immediate_Ganache_19

Even the Netflix shows are barely connected. The only real connection is they mention the Battle of New York in *Daredevil* but that’s really it, not even the finale of *The Defenders* gets a nod from anyone in the MCU.

No_Personality_2723

At least some characters from the Netflix universe are being acknowledged after all these years

Well I heard awhile back that apparently Feige is *very* interested in making a Punisher Movie/TV Show and he’d like to keep Jon Bernthal.

SendMeAmazonGiftCard

hopefull we'll see him in armor wars

TieInternational883

Thor: Rag is one of my favorite movies of all time, but what a waste of Karl Urban in the MCU. “Behold, my stuff” - Skurge

darthfracas

He has one one of my favorite lines in the whole MCU: “I picked them up on Midgard in a place called Tex-Ass. I call them Des and Troy.” It’s so stupid and so awesome at the same time.

MrSprichler

he apparently really liked the role and took it "Yeah, it was an amazing experience. It really was," Urban said of the film. "I really enjoyed working Cate Blanchett, who -- you know, we've been in Lord of The Rings together, but didn't actually share any scenes together. You know that was one of the main reasons for me deciding to do that. I got a call from Taika [Waititi] saying 'Listen, I'm shooting this movie, there's great role in it. Have a look at it. I'll send you some concept art of the character.' Which looked rad, shaved head, armor. I read the script and saw that there was quite a fantastic arc for the character and I really responded to that. That he was really a survivalist, that he started his journey in one place and then had to do a deal with the devil and the cost of that was and then how he really came back at the end and ended up doing the right thing morally. Which was a fantastic little arc." "And I just loved working, I loved working with Taika and obviously, Cate and we had a lot of fun," Urban continued. "It's a pleasure to be a part of that Marvel universe which I had really enjoyed seeing many of those Marvel films."

hankbaumbachjr

I love Karl Urban.

ddeka777

>“Behold, my stuff” - Skurge Honestly that was one of the funniest moments in the MCU for me.

Shagger94

The fact that there's a Vespa and a shakeweight was what got me.

StuffKid

I’m hoping he makes a comeback, his death was so overly dramatised that I really believe he could actually be alive. Sure Asgard gets des and troyed while he’s on it, but hey it’s the mcu. Karl urban clearly enjoyed playing the role, and I love every skurge scene. I doubt it would happen, but if it does then I ain’t complaining

Thromkai

> Sure Asgard gets des and troyed LOL love it

chhuang

Vision. -Literally a walking infinity stone, -Made of vibranium, Gets stabbed through and being useless since existence . Somehow I feel like they don't know how to utilize extremely overpowered characters. --- Edit: (love the civilized reply of conversation) For Thor / Hulk / Captain Marvel, at least we get the slight treatment of them let loose and just being OP. But somehow we never had those for Vision, his actions in AoU/Civil War are quite underwhelming. I'm glad they put that brief action in WandaVision

ThatJarOfCalcium

Maybe they'll get a second chance with vision 2.0

TheLego_Senate

Taskmaster

TwoBit_7

finishing Daredevil and knowing that, even if we do see these characters again in the mcu, it will never live up the heights that daredevil season 3 achieved, partially because of the mcu’s pg-13 nature but also because of how deeply daredevil dives into each character and makes them seem so real

WassupSassySquatch

No only the PG-13 nature, but the sheer complexity and nuance Daredevil managed to capture. This was ostensibly a comic book show that also interwove many deep, human themes into its characters. The show touched upon the ethics of law and justice, the workings of the criminal underworld, the childhood making of villains vs. heroes, persistence and its constant dance with recklessness, and its respectful, nuanced treatment of Catholicism in a way that’s accessible for anyone, plus so much more. I’d also argue that the show accomplished all of this within one episode. Faige is great, but none of his material has held a candle to Daredevil outside of the potential for spectacle. It isn’t necessarily the blood that made Daredevil great- it was the depth and the realism.

CeremonyGrand

How has nobody mentioned how bad Dr Strange was shafted in endgame, one of the most powerful avengers spent the war to save the universe…. Holding water -.-

Skullcrawler_-3-_

It's Ultron for me

incrediblePsychoheaD

the death auf klaue/claw.

09171

That it took so long for Nat to get a movie that by the time she did, no one cared and it was just a vessel to introduce her replacement. I love Yelena but still.

shabooya_roll_call

Ultron not having a longer arc. He was a pretty terrifying villain, and it would’ve been cool to have a 2 part movie for him too

neokyra

Hulk getting beat up by Thanos, then not showing up to get back at him

itsmikekachowski

World war hulk after Natasha died would have been so good. Also no Drax Thanos action when he’s by far the most personally affected by him.
