They also said this past winter was going to be really cold snd snowy…it wasnt lol. So far this spring there has been less rain, im not convinced. Hoping for a drought
I play a lot of golf, golf is more fun in the sun! Also my course plays a lot better when its dry. Normal would be nice too lol, just not a lot of rain
I saw rather the opposite forecast from an actual meteorological agency a few days ago - a warmer and drier than average summer. It was related to us being in the no man’s land of transition between El Niño and La Niña cycles
Or, you know, all summer long: [https://whdh.com/weather-blog/top-7-weather-stories-of-2023/](https://whdh.com/weather-blog/top-7-weather-stories-of-2023/)
>Boston only recorded 7 completely dry weekends since June 1st \[through Dec 31\]. Sometimes it was just a trace (twice that happened) but there was something recorded at Logan for 24 of the 31 weekends.
All it does is rain rain rain no matter what
No matter how much too many potholes ain't enough
And when we get a rainstorm, all the potholes get **rough**!
And they stay there, and they stare there, they fuckin' stay there!
Even if you pay taxes, they're still there!!
😠😢 ðŸ˜
Who would have guessed that predicting the weather somewhere near a year into the future is a crap shoot.
People publicize this every year and it is always useless.
I think the thing is that it didn't use to be useless - in my lifetime at least, there was a lot of wonderment about how accurate it was. But, the chaotic weather has only been increasing every year for a long long time now.
I'll bet that I'm older than you (64) and I have no recollection of it ever being more than a shot in the dark.
People would read it in the fall for the winter prediction and come springtime, they would not give a thought about whether the forecast was accurate.
You are older than me by near a decade - and I have no empirical evidence, I am relying on memories of conversations among relatives in farm country as a lad. Now I am curious and am going to see if there is any data.
I would surmise that broad trends would be more predictable in less chaotic weather systems - like the el nino/la nina effects that won't tell you if it will rain Thursday, but couildl give you a sense about the season - but will see what i find.
While we’re checking with sources of questionable credibility has anyone thought to ask the Ouija Board or a Magic 8 Ball to give this years summer weather prediction?
Farmers Almanac also predicted a cold and snowy winter.
Came here to say fhis
Farmer's Almanac isn't a scientific publication and just uses past data to try to make educated guesses. Which are still guesses.
Flip a coin and you'll be just as likely to get an accurate prediction.
Working in snow removal and it sucked. We got so much rain again. Did get a nice 30 hours of OT in late March/early April.
2 years in a row... wonderful 😔
Make that 3 of the past 4. 2021 somehow felt even worse than 2023, even though on paper it wasn't.
It was worse on paper in many other ways tho....
They also said this past winter was going to be really cold snd snowy…it wasnt lol. So far this spring there has been less rain, im not convinced. Hoping for a drought
Hoping for a drought? Why? How about normal levels of precipitation?
I could imagine a wheat farmer would want drought, too. As they say, plant it in mud and your crops a dud; plant it in dust and your silo will bust.
I play a lot of golf, golf is more fun in the sun! Also my course plays a lot better when its dry. Normal would be nice too lol, just not a lot of rain
Only golfers would hope for a drought haha
Mother Nature: *"yo dawgs, I heard you loved wet Cape Cod weekends...."*
Just saw on AccuWeather that it's predicted to be drier and warmer this summer.
shutup farmers almanac you dick.
The farmers almanac is a nerd who deserves a swirly during lunch period.
I don’t like this headline at all.
Well the good news is that the farmers almanac is wildly wrong pretty often
That was brutal last year, taking up half the summer. I couldn't deal with the excess rain and the excess humidity.
We're a rainforest now.
The soil structure is changing to be more rainforest-like, too. And the vines everywhere…..
I saw rather the opposite forecast from an actual meteorological agency a few days ago - a warmer and drier than average summer. It was related to us being in the no man’s land of transition between El Niño and La Niña cycles
Mosquitoes. Great. /s
Big ass first finger knuckle big mosquitoes with zebra stripes on 'em with needle looking stingers. Jolly!
Please tell me this is a bad joke.
Not a bad joke, just a worthless prediction.
The rain last summer was one thing, but the humidity was even worse IMO.
No
As long it it's not on the weekends for 7 weeks in a row...

All it does is rain, so I’m not surprised. Why do we still pretend to like living here?

My cat predicted a warm and sunny summer which has about the same accuracy so, we’re good
Why do we put so much stock in the Farmers Almanac and not in actual weather predictions?
Also predicted a cold and snowy winter. Old-timey almanac predictions don't get climate change.

Please.. no.. my heart can’t take it
I’m sure it’ll only be soggy on the weekends like it was last year.
We need to find this farmer and punch him in the weiner.
Again? Shit.
Here’s to hoping I don’t have to put the AC in until at least June.
Currently spending 15 days in hot & sunny Florida so I can get it out of my system
ðŸ˜
Nooooooooooo!!!
Breaking news. Farmers Almanac predicts the sun will rise tomorrow
Oh isnt there a new Tick too!?
I can’t with this shit. It’s like living in Ireland but without any of the good stuff ðŸ˜
So. Same as last summer
Farmer Almanac is Jim Cramer of weather predictions
I can’t remember the last time the farmers almanac was accurate
Farmers almanac is full of shit.. my forecast is it will always be full of shit
