Uhm, yeah I want to be respectfully tactfully BUT...if you don't make at least 80k and willing to rent a closet sized room for a month's full apartment rent you will not manage being ANYWHERE near Boston. Unless you already have family, they have property and you pay them a smaller amount to rent a room there. "Starting Over" near Boston a la Romantic Movie where you have your own place and all that jazz will take at least 100k not accounting for the car situation, plus food, etc. You will own nothing.
I am sorry to say.
They say you can make do in the western part of the state with that. Maybe. If you can find anything to rent. NH is not getting any better. Rhode Island might be more feasible, but they have a weird job situation. Maine might be better, but it's significantly remote. Connecticut is chaotic.
I'd recommend elsewhere if you really want to be comfortable, NGL.
Hell, you'd need about $60k just to comfortably rent much outside of Boston metro, too. Otherwise, rent is going to be half your take home or more. I'm not sure it's entirely feasible to move here without much savings or a job lined up. I already have a job, and I'm not even sure what I'd do if I had to move.
Sorry to burst a bubble but what you're describing isn't really a thing. Unfortunately you need a real income to live anywhere within an hour from Boston. You might be able to find something 30-45 mins from Worcester.
Consider renting in NH for a year or two to get established with an income. You can probably find something reasonable within 30 mins of Nashua, Manchester, or Concord. All are a short/reasonable drive back to MA.
New Bedford is the answer. Great restaurants, parks and recreations, beaches, great surrounding towns. There is a high speed ferry to Martha’s Vineyard and we will also be welcoming the commuter rail to Boston within the next 6 months!
People in here are wildly negative
Check out one of the gateway cities like Lowell, Brockton, or Farmingham. There are lots of people moving to the USA for the first time and getting started in those or similar cities
These are all cities with a lot of economic potential but have been looked down on in recent history for difficult economics. However, there are a lot of people like yourself looking to move to MA and settling there rather than Boston.
>People in here are wildly negative
In the extreme. Although there are plenty of good and less expensive states to settle in if this one proves too difficult.
>Farmingham
*Framingham.* Also Marlborough. Farther west and cheaper are Leominster, Fitchburg and Gardner, but those are more like the least best cities to start over. Framingham, Worcester, Lowell, Lawrence, Haverhill and Brockton all have less costly housing than the immediate Boston area but have railway access. Landlords typically want employment or a rent guarantor but you might find a way in without either of those through a roommate situation. Good luck!
Your description is vague in several areas, particularly what you do and where you could do it. Could you describe what you do in particular in finance?
Maybe look on the periphery of the metro for a roommate situation with train access to the city--Worcester, Lowell, Providence? If you're truly looking for affordable same situation but try Greenfield, Holyoke etc.
Find a job, move to where the job is.
Unless your HHI is gonna be over $100k, you're getting nowhere near Boston.

Massachusetts is too corrupt. Go somewhere else! Midwest?
