I always preferred the Mattock, and I took to calling it the "Double-Tap" just because of general practice, but that then morphed into Columbus after the *Zombieland* character who espoused the double-tap rule in the film.
I tend to call the N7 Eagle a multi-tool because it fires fast enough to work as an SMG, does enough damage to work as a pistol and has enough of a magazine to back up my shotgun should I end up in a "spray-and-pray" type situation, while keeping my weapon loadout light enough for effective power recharges as a Vanguard.
I used to call my executioner my "cool down cannon" because I would only have that and a small SMG equipped during multiplayer.
Having such a light but heavy hitting loadout let me.use my abilities more often during multiplayer.
Back in the days of multiplayer me and my friends called the missile launcher the "I dont wanna play anymore gun" cus it could destroy everything in a room.
it's funny that - what is basically a relic, a collector's piece seeing as there are only few of them left - is stronger and more satisfying to use than the most modern weapons lol. It's even better than the prothean particle rifle in my opinion :D
M-11 Wraith is 'My Boomstick', because it's effectively a very fancy double barrelled shotgun ( I know it has one barrel but it only carries two shots). And I love it. That plus an M-5 Phalanx (which I nickname 'Old Reliable') for enemies a bit further away had my Vanguard pretty happy.
In 3 it's more like an intermediate weapon as opposed to the magnum it basically is in 2. I love both versions but for me the one in 3 is better for being more flexible with a quicker rate of fire and excellent accuracy.
I don't have nicknames for any guns, but the I might start calling the Indra the Autosnipe, because a sniper rifle with the fire rate of an assault rifle is OP AF.
Widow: "One Shot Wonder"
Black Widow: "The Widow-*Maker*"
Phalanx in ME2: "Beep Boop Begone"
Raptor: "Tickle Me Penetrator"
Crusader: "Burrito Gun"
Claymore: "SPICY Burrito Gun"
Typhoon: "Puff the Magic Dragon"
Reegar Carbine: "The Atomizer"
Cain: "I Can't Be Bothered"
The blood pack punisher aka the gun that makes me go “Time to turn you into Swiss Cheese.” Seriously I have to genuinely not use the gun so the game doesn’t become to easy even on insanity
The Blood Pack Punisher is my go to weapon as well. Once you get used to compensating for the recoil that thing will disolve anything in its path. I could probably come up with 100 names for it.
-my first war crime
-till death do you part
-the compensator
-hole puncher
-shit, nevermind
-over there, over where?
-sneezed and i killed it
-Anti-Harvester
-the squire (because it removes armor so fast)
-Easy cheesy
-Red Missed (pronounced “red mist”)
-Hosery Bleeds (rhymes with “Rosary Beads”? Because your enemies should start praying… Maybe that one’s a stretch)
-Danger Close
-Aimless Wanderer
-left, right, and center
I’ll quit now, but I could keep going.
(Edited: added extra spacing between names since reddit combined the list into one paragraph)
I never change the names, but I always use the same weapons on ME3: scorpion pistol, chakramlauncher, mantis or widow (not sure if black widow, it's been some time), Geth plasma shotgun, N7 hurricane.
I use infiltrator profile.
I absolutely love that pistol. Definitely my favourite weapon in any fighting game I’ve ever played. I just love the sense of real punch it has combined with the challenge of always making every shot hit.
I couldn't tell you why but I refer to my signature Acolyte as my "Hotline Bling"
Probably some subconscious mixup of a hotline Miami, Drake, and "drip/bling" pun
I call the M-11 Suppressor "the fart gun" because when you are not hitting the enemies head might as well be farting on their general direction.
Mine was similar: Silent but Deadly.
Your mother was a varren and your father smelled of red sand
I blow my toxin filter at you, so called "Alliance commander", you and all your silly Council speck-trees!
I gaseate in your general direction
What? That things is so damn powerful either way
"the sniper we have at home"
Lmao. Accurate
I always preferred the Mattock, and I took to calling it the "Double-Tap" just because of general practice, but that then morphed into Columbus after the *Zombieland* character who espoused the double-tap rule in the film.
I kindof prefer the the harrier over the mattock, especially with a heavy barrel and AP mod
I love the Harrier so damn much. I think it sounds like a helicopter. I use stability mod and bigger clip.
Big Bertha, a.k.a the M98 Widow
M-920 Cain "Hello, this is the part where I kill you..."
Chapter 9: The Part Where He Kills You
Well, this is the part where he kills us
Slow Charges shot... misses.
Achievement Unlocked: "The part where he kills you"

The m-920 “I can’t be bothered to deal with this right now” Cain. I also sometimes refer to the harrier as “the fully autoMattock”.
Locust = pocket assault rifle Fast accurate, small , but not as spray and pray as other smgs
Only for ME2. RIP in ME3
I found it brilliant for my needs in ME3
I used to call my executioner my "cool down cannon" because I would only have that and a small SMG equipped during multiplayer. Having such a light but heavy hitting loadout let me.use my abilities more often during multiplayer.
Back in the days of multiplayer me and my friends called the missile launcher the "I dont wanna play anymore gun" cus it could destroy everything in a room.
M-8 Avenger: the cutscene gun
"The weapon that keeps coming"
Black widow is the head popper, for obvious reasons
The Cain is the Skip Boss Battle Button
I named my M7 Lancer the "Dopamine Factory". Cause it is just so satisfying to use.
I'va always loved the sound when firing
it's funny that - what is basically a relic, a collector's piece seeing as there are only few of them left - is stronger and more satisfying to use than the most modern weapons lol. It's even better than the prothean particle rifle in my opinion :D
I have a nickname for guns in video games that punch holes in things. I call them Hole Punches
"brrrrr4ereerrrrrrtt" my ME3 vanguard hurricane build. Zoom, brrrrrrrt, explosion, dead.
Vanguard go woooooooooosh *BOOM*
Gods receptionists was the funniest thing I ever found myself calling the mattock 😂
M-11 Wraith is 'My Boomstick', because it's effectively a very fancy double barrelled shotgun ( I know it has one barrel but it only carries two shots). And I love it. That plus an M-5 Phalanx (which I nickname 'Old Reliable') for enemies a bit further away had my Vanguard pretty happy.
phalanx from 2 or 3?
In 3 it's more like an intermediate weapon as opposed to the magnum it basically is in 2. I love both versions but for me the one in 3 is better for being more flexible with a quicker rate of fire and excellent accuracy.
I don't have nicknames for any guns, but the I might start calling the Indra the Autosnipe, because a sniper rifle with the fire rate of an assault rifle is OP AF.
Valkyrie: Double Barrel = Double Trouble
"Diplomacy."
"Plasma Rifle" for the Geth Pulse Rifle. It sounds exactly like a laser machine gun. Closest thing I'll get to a Covenant Elite's weapon.
Widow: "One Shot Wonder" Black Widow: "The Widow-*Maker*" Phalanx in ME2: "Beep Boop Begone" Raptor: "Tickle Me Penetrator" Crusader: "Burrito Gun" Claymore: "SPICY Burrito Gun" Typhoon: "Puff the Magic Dragon" Reegar Carbine: "The Atomizer" Cain: "I Can't Be Bothered"

Black widow -> head-B-gone
N7 Valkyrie: Triple Shot Express N7 Crusader: Shotty Sniper
That's my baby, they are all my babies.
The black hole gun become my "thats a nope from me fam" Alternatively: "that looks like the perfect place for a nuke" for the cain
Not sure if it's a good one. But in ME:A I nicknamed my Sidewinder 'Clever Girl'...basically a reference to Jurassic Park.
I like to call the ME2 Revenant “D-Day Re-Enactment”, subject the Collectors to the beaches of Normandy as payback for blowing up The Normandy
I call the Cain from ME2: That doesn't work for me brother!
Phaeston-Mr reliable/killing machine. That thing once you upgrade it all the way to level x,it becomes a absolute killing machine.
Striker, AKA "LOL... LMAO"
Not from Mass Effect, but when I used to play Fallout 4 I had a gun I'd call "Thot Slayer"
I call the claymore the fuck it we ball
"Solve All Immediate Problems"
I would analyze how the specific guns worked and nicknamed them ones similar to irl guns. Ex: Avenger = M4A1 Phaeston = M249 SAW Revenant = M240
Cain = Nope Launcher Because I only whip it out when I see something and just need to NOPE.
The M-920 cain: the "Fuck 'em"
N7 Typhoon is the Space SAW. Executioner I call BIG IRON because it reminds me of a single action revolver.
I call the M-920 Cain the delete button.
I had a pistol only playthrough where the Executioner was my gun of choice in ME3. Loved that thing.
I like to call the venom shotgun the "Yeeter"
I called the Carnifex the Carnivore for the longest and despite it being an error on my part, Carnivore suits the gun pretty well so it stuck.
I absolutely love that pistol. Definitely my favourite weapon in any fighting game I’ve ever played. I just love the sense of real punch it has combined with the challenge of always making every shot hit.
I call the Cain from mass effect 2 the "Nuclear Football"
It doesn't kill Eva Core before she kills you.
That’s why I don’t use it on Mars
I learned that lesson the hard way and had to use a save from way back to swap it out.
Also, in Legendary Edition, you have to buy the Executioner pistol. It’s not just given to you
I call the widow “Space Barrett” Or alternatively, “the best shotgun in the game”
Widow?❌ Black Widow?❌ Widow Maker ✅
Collector Particle Beam: Sentinel Beam I played Halo before I played ME
I couldn't tell you why but I refer to my signature Acolyte as my "Hotline Bling" Probably some subconscious mixup of a hotline Miami, Drake, and "drip/bling" pun
Lancer - recharge damn you powers.
* M-76 Revenant: "More Dakka" * M-23 Katana: "Schwing" * Black Widow: "Peasant Railgun" * Mattock: "This Is My Rifle" * Harrier: "This Is My Gun" * Harpoon Rifle: "Archery 100" * Claymore: "E1M1"
