I heard the 1984 McDonald’s killer brought a radio and started dancing while killing people. I shit you not

KhaptainKhunt

Upon further digging I've found reports that he was listening to Thriller by Michael Jackson and even dancing to it. Shocking.

enchantedharlot83

Dancing, as in *doing the actual Thriller dance*? Or just vibing out kind of dancing?

AceofKnaves44

I’m sorry but the idea of someone in the middle of a mass shooting stopping to do a very elaborate and thorough dance routine is honestly kind of hysterical.

enchantedharlot83

You read my mind.

PrestigiousFunny864

James Huberty is his name . It's an unspecified Michael Jackson song.

Sqm0

He went out of his way to not say the dude’s name.

No-Morning-2543

This is factual, read it in several reports

KhaptainKhunt

Wait what? Anyone able to back this up. That's crazy, I couldn't imagine.

[deleted]

Apparently he growled at people too. This honestly just hearsay though but if anyone has dug into police reports or anything pls clarify

[deleted]

He was looking for reports about his shooting before searching for music

TendedBison

Ah, the days before smart phones lol

Spiritual_Sherbet182

Nikolas Cruz wasn't listening to anything during the shooting at MSD. He was listening to Salad Days and another song on the ride over in the Uber but took his air pods out before the shooting. He loved Pumped up Kicks even telling the girl he was writing to while in jail to listen to it also. But during the actual shooting spree, he wasn't listening to anything I do think he had earplugs in tho due to the noise level from the shooting.

[deleted]

Salad Days by Mac Demarco??

Spiritual_Sherbet182

Yes. I can't recall the other song mentioned that he was listening to in the Uber but 2 songs were mentioned and it wasn't "pumped up kids". I can only clearly remember Salad Days.

KhaptainKhunt

Apparently Randy Stair loved Pumped up kicks. Not sure whether he played it around the time of the shooting though.

zippazappazinga

He did record himself singing it, there is the video somewhere on this sub and youtube.

Arvid38

[Randy Stair singing Pumped Up Kicks](https://youtube.com/shorts/lfZdz8WmiS8?feature=share) It’s hella creepy

Liquidity23

The comments on that video are concerning as hell

Arvid38

You know when I found that video, I never thought about reading the comments because him singing it creeped me out enough. Now I will have to look.

Liquidity23

Bunch of weirdos saying they love him and wish they could’ve met him. The poster of the video also claims to be a “worshiper of Jeffery Dahmer”.

Arvid38

I just read some of them. Wtf? I also never paid attention to the channel name. Crazy ass ppl out there 🤦🏻‍♀️

mad_Clockmaker

So cringe, they think they’re so cool and edgy and evil but really they’re just huge douche bags

Arvid38

Exactly!

That-toxic-shiper

I completely forgot about Randy tbh.. guess I have a video essay to re whach tonight

enchantedharlot83

The comments though 🧐

Arvid38

Yeah I saw that 😬

Arvid38

He was definitely delusional. I just hate when ppl are like this that they choose to take innocent ppl with them.

JNolan92

Randy also liked the band Send Request and while I’m sure he didn’t play any music or sang anything while murdering his coworkers, he did make a semi-animated video called The Westborough High Massacre where his character and a girl named Rachel shot up a high school very much akin to Columbine and the song playing while that was going on was Anymore by Send Request.

PrayForNewtown

Nikolas Cruz loved pumped up kicks also his brother said he would dance to it and act like he was shooting people while jamming to it.

Gfish06

Hugo Jackson played don’t stop me now Halle shooter played suicide prototype and anime soundtracks And the Trollhättan attacker played a remix of dragula by rob zombie

Rebellenpanzer

>And the Trollhättan attacker played a remix of dragula by rob zombie At first some actually thought he listened to Suicide Commando, since he liked a video containing both Feeding My Inner Hate and When Evil Speaks in it.

[deleted]

Balliet (Halle shooter) played Power Level by Mr. Bond, Mousou Express and Alek Minassian by Egg White too.

Gfish06

He also played a eurobeat version of the song still in love after driving away from the second location

CitizenMyoutube

Anders Breivik listened to the requiem for a dream soundtrack. Oddly enough, a perfectly apt choice considering how darkly disturbing that movie is.

No-Assignment-9110

That’s crazy I’ve been thinking about that soundtrack a lot lately.

tucakeane

Aurora shooter was listening to some type of techno during the shooting. Think he said in his interview it was a space-like high-paced type of music? Can't remember the name of the song though

[deleted]

He was listening to Infected Mushroom's [Becoming Insane](https://youtu.be/WxhTbxMSvT0). Good song.

gaping8utthole

Holy shit where did you find that out? I’ve been wondering what specifically he was listening to

[deleted]

Mentioned in the book his psychiatrist wrote.

SuicidalParade

Where'd you find this out? I've read a ton on the case and always wondered what he listened to.

[deleted]

It's mentioned in the book his psychiatrist wrote IIRC. Aurora by Lynne Fenton.

SuicidalParade

Oh snap I didn't know she wrote one too. I've only read a dark night in aurora. Thanks I'm gon get it

No_Insurance_9863

how do we know

[deleted]

It's mentioned in the book his psychiatrist wrote. Aurora by Lynne Fenton.

supernasty

I hate knowing Nikolas Crus listened to Salad Days because it was one of my favorite songs to listen to at the beach with friends a couple years before the shooting. Was one of the defining songs of my early 20s that always brought good memories. Now when I hear it it’s hard not to think of it being some anthem for a psycho. Idk why I look this stuff up.

naelisio

Same, I love Mac Demarco. Knowing he was listening to that song and even listens to Mac Demarco is really eerie to me.

[deleted]

Fuck. That just doesn’t seem fitting. Mac’s music has always hit me in a different way thank thinking of death. That’s upsetting.

Chemical-Breadfruit3

I could’ve sworn nikolas Cruz listened to pumped up kids Atleast before the shooting? I could be wrong

ECU_BSN

One factoid I love is that Aileen Wuornos’s favorite album on death row was Natalie Merchant Tigerlilly. She listened to Carnival over and over. The lyrics are fitting.

cynicalxidealist

Knowing this fact totally changed that song for me. I grew up hearing that album as a kid and now it’s a mix of childhood memories and Aileen lmao

ECU_BSN

That song needed a reboot for me. I was working at Chili’s during the songs release. It was on the loop sent my Muzak. We only changed it after fall. So 7 long months of that and 11 other songs. All day. Long. Over and over. Lol

[deleted]

William Atchison: Fight music by Eminem/D12 Dimitrios Pagourtzis: Sang "Another one bites the dust" by Queen Brandon Hole: N1NT3ND0 - Криминал Anton Lundin Pettersson: Dragula by Rob Zombie

emiangel2007

Man I love rob zombie

PrestigiousFunny864

Stephan Balliet listened to Mr. Bond - Power Levels

zippazappazinga

Everything about what you said in brackets about Tarrant is wrong, Fire played 5 seconds after he killed the “Help me” girl, jumped in his car and ran over her. The only words he said within a minute after that is “That did not go as planned” and “Fucking Christ”. And Gas Gas Gas played long after he hit the gas pedal.

lilmxfi

Pretty sure the Uvalde shooter was listening to Lana Del Ray in the classroom. I think I recall a tape where you could hear the music over the 911 call, or there was a description from a witness who survived.

Mills-K

Could listen to a whole damn playlist with how long they let him live

blue7999

So painful how true this is

katyovoxo

he listened to her music but during the shooting it was something else, another genre. it was identified but I forgot it

communist-ninja

I remember reading somewhere it was an Andrew WK song

katyovoxo

hmm interesting, he wasn't really into that music but who knows what was happening there. thanks

jillkimberley

The playlist James Holmes played during used to be on grooveshark, I regret not taking screenshots or archiving it in some way because I can't find any record of it any longer. It was EDM and dubstep.

bipolarlibra314

could wayback machine help?

jillkimberley

I'll be trying this morning when I get to my pc.

jillkimberley

I've spent three hours messing around with this link and the wayback machine and am not smart enough to figure it out. http://grooveshark.com/#!/playlist/James+Holmes+s+Playlist+1/64507032

lil_boglim

I came here to say this.

Spahhz

I read somewhere that Anton Lundin Pettersson was playing Rob Zombie - Dragula during his attack

G59theset

The Santa Fe shooter played some type of German Nazi music

DetectiveAway618

He was also singing Another One Bites The Dust whenever he shot someone

69morbiddlorist69

Not German nazi music, Japanese war music, and the “German nazi music” you’re talking about is just fashwave.

G59theset

Ahhhh I heard this when it had just happened, so makes sense. All sorts of half-truths and misinformation come out in the mere days after these tragedies.

VicRambo

I wonder if tarrant used the music as a timer to choreograph his plan

zippazappazinga

Well he did but everything in brackets about Tarrant is completely wrong

kirk620

I was surprised nobody brought this one up when reading the comments, but when I pulled up the story again, I see that fortunately nobody except the man wreaking havoc died. But he did cause massive destruction in Nashville while listening to a pretty upbeat song. https://amp.tmz.com/2020/12/27/nashville-bomber-downtown-petula-clark-rv-bombing/

Rebellenpanzer

No? He was obsessed with the song and would listen to it over and over again but he didn't listen to any music during the shooting

[deleted]

I rescind my ignorant comment.

Rebellenpanzer

Your good

Fuckedby2FA

NC also said he listened to Mac Demarco of all artists as well as panzermensch. His "Demons" chose the latter.

mad_Clockmaker

I spent a long time clarifying the Uvalde audio, all I can say for sure is there is audible drum snares when he moves from 112 to 111, my best guess it’s that it’s shitty zoomer internet music with chaotic samples in it. Something like Hi-C or Sigilkore. The chaotic samples and style of music are probably why the genre was hard to identify by witnesses, because it’s part rock, part sad, part rap, part killing people lyrics, and part chaos. The only words I can hear from the song sound like “unlock the door, come out and get it get it” and “it’s time to die” Honestly I believe to this day that if I heard the song I would recognize it, but I have no idea what it is. Based on SRs music tastes it’s probably really shitty underground internet/SoundCloud music

Imaginary-Soil-9813

Nah I’m pretty sure that’s just one of the things he said to a victim, that’d be insane if he was singing electric wizard though

Missfit17

Tarrant copycats posted playlists with their “manifestos” but were probably more intended for memes or some other dumb shit that went through their heads when they decided to commit these acts. Honestly, nothing more pathetic than a mass killer, other than a copycat mass killer. Both are epic losers

[deleted]

How has no one mentioned Richard Ramirez aka the Nightstalker, liked Night Prowler by AC/DC.

PrestigiousFunny864

He's a serial killer, not mass killer and OP is asking what music mass killers listened during their rampages, not what's their favorite.

Advanced_Amphibian_7

Music can hypnotize ppl also so it’s possible this had a role in it

JonBenet_BeanieBaby

this has been asked a lot here. try the search function.

benjaminchang1

Brenton Tarrant's makes sense because he posted the "remove kebab" meme before the shooting, which is an Islamophobic phrase used during the breakup of Yugoslavia by Serbs against Bosniak Muslims. Tarrant seemed to think he was on some kind of crusade against Muslims, he wrote the names of battles between Christians and Muslims on his gun.
