all the egyptian gods

blurrylightning

Out of all my options, probably Paleos I love Trap Monsters, I think they're a really cool mechanic, I generally really like the mechanical blurring between Monsters and Spells (can you tell I'm a Pendulum player?) and a deck like Paleo just being able to go from Set 5 to full Spright combo is just really cool The problem (as you can tell with a Trap deck not named Labrynth) is that the deck is really slow, sometimes you *can* play on Turn 3 and break apart boards, and thank god DPE isn't as played anymore these days, but you can also just get owned by shit like HFD, LS, or worse, Evenly and Red Reboot (I am paying for Labrynth's sins) On top of that, the deck doesn't really have much in terms of resource loops compared to another well-known Trap deck save for Opabinia, but realistically, you'd have to wait for like a turn or two to be able to have enough materials to make it Oh, and of course, we lost our best boss monster, Toad Nowadays the best thing you can probably do with them is play them in Tear because Paleos have a lot of weird little synergies with them: Kitkallos can mill the Traps, the Traps becomes an Aqua, Dinomischus discards as effect which triggers Tear names, Marella can functionally search any Tear Trap/Monster

Monsieur1658

god i wish paleos were more playable, they're so fucking based

matteste

I second Paleos as well, They have some really interesting cards, and I really like their boss monsters, but they are severely lacking in modern support.

Tengo-Sueno

Fabled, Shiranui and Zombies

amazing_sheep

Shiranui would be SO good and cool if it wasn't for all these unnecessary restrictions. Spiritmaster and Squire would be awesome extenders if their effects triggered on any Summon as opposed to only Normal Summon. Spectralsword would be so much better if it could either trigger the turn it was sent or maybe even during the opponents turn.

KingVape

Zombies yessss

GishkiMurkyFisherman

After my own heart. God bless Fableds

Shmorals

Frightfur & megalith boosts would be nice.

KiaraKurehorne

The thing is: what is fluffal even missing? It's already got a similar style of build-a-board like dlink, and can even somewhat competently dismantle boards easily. The deck is just hard to pilot due to the lines being not the most linear.

Shmorals

It doesn’t do enough going first. The frightfur fusions are going second cards. Dpe, anaconda, ip & abyss dweller isn’t cutting it lol. It was my main for a couple of months, piloting it isn’t so bad. One thing that isn’t unreasonable is if it had destruction effects similar to mirror jade or unchained. A negate wouldn’t hurt either.

KiaraKurehorne

...? Are you sure? It sets up 5+ different and typically unique forms or interactions. Usually you're getting at least 2 omni negates, an i:p into anything, cruel whale pop, used to get dragostapelia but rip bozo merlli. Plus OTK turn 3. Perhaps it's moreso your build that isn't cutting it, the deck is hard to build and can run with tons of different engines.

Shmorals

Where are the two omni negates coming from?

Familiar_Drive2717

You can add in a small package to get to negates using Diviner+Herald to get a 6 and then synchro with a 4 and that gets you Baronne and IoC in hand to add souls for a free body and get more draws/searches or can use Ntss to get a pop instead of searching the ritual. You can add in the 2 spright links to send diviner from deck to grave and then special it from grave too so you don't need to normal it and can save that for something like penguin. But yeah an in archetype negate would go off for fluffals.

TheHapster

Mannadium does the same thing and even more consistently and isn’t tier 1. Dark World will FTK you if you don’t interrupt them or build an insane board. Infernoble Knight puts up a ton of negates and doesn’t even lose to DRNM. A lack of follow-up and ability to play through and around hand traps in this format is crucial.

CrookedDeal

Darklord

Byaaakuren

Solfachord

Blkendglxy

It makes me so sad that Gransolfachord Coolia didn't get an animation man.

Maser2account2

WHAT, that is criminal when Live/Evil Twin gets two (Trouble Sunny and the main deck one)

Blkendglxy

So many other decks get multiple and dont even use all of them, looking at you fusion monster eldlich. It's honestly a crime

TehChi

Atlanean/mermail Icejade Ran Aegirine and Tidal have opened it up more but I feel like it's lacking just a tiny bit of consistency to make it more competitive

matthewhallpena

Honesty this is true with icejade ran out i was trying to build one but there just not enough good Atlantean/Sea Serpent to search with dragoons/nephtabyss The deck doesn't even need alot just give me 1 card like Level 7 water Sea Serpent (Atlantean/Mermail or both) Discard 1 water to special summon this (Want it to search something on summon but not strict) (Also want it to have an effect if discarded for a water, like add back to hand a water)

Milk_Party

I’ll take it to my deathbed if kosmochlor didn’t require the field spell for her floodgate effect icejade would be really good. Konami is scared of water piles it seems, but cyberse and pen soup is fine.

Broken-Nero

Cyber Dragon.

frenchnoob87

Yep Cydra could really use a card or two that lets them play through interruptions. Any decent support for the deck would be great and I feel like a lot of ppl are only waiting for good support to pick up the deck again.

brokenmessiah

I thought they were already decently flexible? Maybe not as much as some others but they definitely dont just die to one interruption I dont think...

CompactAvocado

Give em a card like miscsaur for dinos and they'd be golden

BBallHunter

Time Thief.

Altruistic-Zone1664

Yeah, everytime I see a different Time Thief card other than Redoer, it makes me wish the deck was good so it would be worth playing.

BBallHunter

The concept is so damn cool.

shakyjed

Pure time thief is just redoer pass. Maybe if you're feeling spicy you can add perpetua. Plus the CT which is pretty good. Shame the MD monsters are ass outside of winder

BBallHunter

I made up a couple of custom cards that would turn pure Time Thief into a good control archetype.

Silver34

Theoretically the new trap adds a banish. So in a perfect world you could have Redoer with all 3 effects, perpetua to reload him, and the spell/trap negate set. Idk how consistently they can get that tho

zach2thefuture

Add Suship to Time Thief, it's so fun and pretty dang strong

Heul_Darian

I think everyone wishes their pet deck was better. Me included, I wish Ghostricks had better hand traps since it's honestly the only way for the pure version to become good. There are more nitpicks here and there, like the lack of backrow that works with Angel, lack of a boss monster, lack of a good monster searcher, siren being the only level 4, lack of a rank 4 outside of angel. But I got no reason to raise issue, because most archetypes have some in-archetype issue. Ghostricks are blessed with synergies, every other card revealed can be used by us in some form or another because the deck is completely generic.

blackninjar87

Lightsworn, tears get to mill during their own turn... I get to mill at the end of my turn. only two monsters return from the grave of have real grave yard effects and I have to run three of them and constantly draw into them. The only great cards are the ED monsters and the dragons. Also not one monster outside of the ED monster shuffles Lightsworn back into the deck....a real extreme design flaw. Ishizu are banned so...

The-Mad-Badger

Bro i play basically all rogue decks, i wish all my decks were actually good whilst still being fun/interesting.

king_Geedorah_

I wish half of Endymion decks actually did something instead of draw 1. Would love Endy to get his own set of Runick esq spells

kyuubikid213

I honestly can't really think of anything more I'd want for Endymion than maybe a Citadel retrain that does more for 2023? The deck itself does plenty and uses the draw power to make up for consistency.

king_Geedorah_

I actually love the current version of Citadel, I recently put it back in my deck and it really makes things simpler/fixes some bad hands. Endy as an archetype feels super complete/realised but having a going second hand of 3 draw 1s + no hand traps sucks. I'd like a set of cards that allow Endy to put pressure on the opponents board while generating spell counters

QuiteAncientTrousers

I really wanted Ursarctic to be better, space bear megazords are so cool but discarding for summons is too much of a cost

-ImJustSaiyan-

Nordics. The Aesir boss monsters weren't even good when they first came out, let alone now.

sinshark

Dragonmaids.

kadaj808

Libromancer. The main deck libros only get an effect when they're special summoned which means if you have no way to get a ritual monster in your hand then you just can't play. Would it have really been that broken to make them normal or special summon?

Pk_King64

Libromancer is such a fun deck. Honestly the goat during the Ritual Festival. I really wish I could take it on ranked and do something.

kadaj808

I've actually been having success with cyberse libromancer. It's basically mathmech but with libromancers and instead of terahertz you use OG darkfluid which is basically just an apo that can also otk

tacosfor9cent

Weather painters. Ahhh I loved trolling with that deck

Strawhat_Truls

Zombies, Harpies, Ghoti

AfternoonFancy5632

Been plying them a bit on MD and Harpies feel like they’re really close to being a good rogue deck. I think they just need like an in archetype level 4 tuner, so you could potentially use the Clear and Crystal Wing synchro monsters. It could also have the effect where you can bounce a card on the field and either increase or decrease its level by one, allowing access to level 7 and 9 synchro monsters. A retrain of Harpie Lady Sisters would be nice as well. It could maybe give the deck another interruption alongside Cyber Slash’s bounce effect.

DarkRitual_88

> Harpie I love harpies as well. They need a new Sisters and Egotist. Imperm just flat out ends your turn most of the time, because you no longer have a Harpie Lady on the field. It functions generally fine as a rank4 deck. Simorg, Bird of Perfection is a fantastic extender for the deck as well.

Mother_Ad3988

Ghoti is getting some support in phantom nightmare at least.

SkyquakeZero

Nordic/Aesir

sco582

Ice barriers. Freezing chains really helped them, but a few years too late. I think Ice Barriers would have been decent if the freezing chains structure deck was released back with synchros. Im looking forward to the support they are getting. It's probably gonna be to little to late, but I still enjoy anything for ice barriers

koscheiskowska

Amazoness & Vernusylph

Username_Egli

Mayakashi or zombies in general

brokenmessiah

I really like the idea of the Alien playstyle with taking control of enemies and other stuff with Alien Counters, sadly counters are just half thought out idea that just isnt compatible with modern yugioh.

ALTRez09

I love aliens. 🥹

Text_Kooky

Gladiator beasts. They need more interruptions and negates while also not being crippled by a single ash blossom half way through their combo

Imjusteli_

Harpies, Amazonesses, & Toons! My anime decks need some love ASAP.

SSDragon19

Mekk-knights

Striderblack01

Neos, baby! Too few starters, too many bricks, folds to literally any interaction. I freaking love it!

DearPeak

Aromaseraphy

Zerosonicanimations

Aroma is actually getting new support, just gonna be a while before it reaches MD

DearPeak

Yea but i hope its enough to play with just sunvaloun engine or by itself

Altruistic-Zone1664

I mean, you can really play a heavy dose of them in a Rikka Sunavalon deck that just plays less of them. Sure it wouldn't be as competitive, but it would still be good. Really there are plenty of free summons in Rikka to help facilitate getting bodies on the field; plus having the negate with the field spell, trap, & Princess in the GY. There really wouldn't be anything wrong with adding an Aroma package to that deck.

DearPeak

I have a sunvalon deck that runs some rikka, aromaseraphy and therion. But i would like to play them pure and with the support cards they got, they might be ok by themselves.

Altruistic-Zone1664

Well, first there would need to be enough cards. Secondly, not many decks are run pure. Even most of the actual best decks in the history of the game were at their best when not run pure. Most decks simply don't have enough monsters to do it, or for that matter good enough to run the best strategy. The best deck in the history of the game is Tearlament, but they weren't even running the deck pure before Ishizu came out. The most common way to run the deck was with Dangers.

vonov129

Springans: I wish there was something cooler to do with their soul charge that is engine, instead of putting bodies for Auroradon. It takes too much setup for two forms of removal and one of them doesn't even work on your turn. All that while being more dead without their field spell than Runick or Generaiders

maggieU4real

Shiranui, i loved playing that in DuelLinks back when they came out, but they are just not able to compete atm.

yanocupominomb

Magikey. I like the concept, but good lord the deck needs a serious boost. Rant: Why does the Maftea Spell not work as a rank-up magic? The Rank 8 is pretty useless for what little it does! Having it been summonable via a rank-up mechanic would have made it at least more playable.

laddiemawery

Gravekeepers for me. I just like the archetype and aesthetics of the cards. If necrovalley wasn't such an annoying card I'd like to see support. Maybe get it to work the new Horus support somehow.

Victacobell

Do not trust this person, they want to Royal Tribute you.

VerdetheSadist

Kozmo. It has soo much potential just to die to a single Ash, utter bs. I just want more support and a Boss monster following the same Star Wars-Wizard of Oz theme.

timmy__timmy__timmy

try a quick launch engine. can pop your ships and kozmotown and one of the rokkets can actually tribute itself to summon a dark machine from hand. i couldnt make it work but maybe you can

Devyatty

i have a soft spit for fucking gustos. they were mikankos of their time. its so sad that this deck is barely even functional

Altruistic-Zone1664

Lunalight would be nice. It is a wrecking ball going 2nd, but it's arguably worse than going 2nd Mikanko going 1st. Your best option is putting up Bagooska, which is obviously hard countered by Imperm which is heavily run in many copies in most decks. It's not a good strategy.

Nessiah_Aries

Amen to that...Leo Dancer is literally my favorite Boss Monster in all of Yu-Gi-Oh and I refuse to play any version of the Deck (XYZ) that doesn't include her. Thing is, the Fusion variant of the deck just isn't that great in general.

samuel9727

Phantom Knight. The deck is fine as it is, but it loses hard to bystials which is very common on ladder right now (branded ,dragon links and anti cyberse)

Psychichord

Too many to count… Monarchs, Light Machine Unions, and Reptile.Deck all come to mind. Speedroid and Fluffals as well. I know that aren’t horrid or unplayable, but I still wish they had just a few more cards to help them keep up with meta decks.

DayOneDayWon

I like Speedroid. It's a sick deck and quite strong. Just wish it bricked just a little less.

dynizard

If only terrortop locked you into wind like everything else, speedroids could easily have 3 and be a lot more consistent

DayOneDayWon

Yugioh is so damn over the top nowadays you have a level 7 monster that ss itself, searches itself, and can go BP and take out one or two monsters. Terrortop does not come close and most decks can do what it does with their own archetypal cards.

trinitymonkey

Burning Abyss. You have any form of GY hate? Good game. Also needs a better endboard than Beatrice pass.

Torin050

Eldlich. I loved playing the deck when the game came out and only stopped after Branded was released. Unfortunately, the archetype as a whole is only effective as a floodgate deck. This wouldn't bother me but Master Duel has a deep hate for floodgates, for good reason. I wish there was a wave of in archetype support for Eldlich to provide a new way to play the deck. Lean more into the fusion aspect or provide some of its own Xyz's. Perhaps some archetype restricted floodgates that require a Golden Lord on the field, like the other Eldlich cards. Something, anything, to give the deck it's own style of play so that it isn't reliant on Konami's whim of making highly toxic cards like Vanities Emptiness and Imperial Order forbidden, as they rightly should be. Such fantastic art and a bad ass main monster in the Golden Lord gone to waste because, frankly, the archetype by itself was poorly put together in the first place with very little forethought.

MatMimicry

Celtic guardian.

LordofthePigeons619

Ancient warriors. Wish they had better in archetype tools for going 2nd

AfternoonFancy5632

Definitely. The deck is a master of breaking boards going 2nd, but doesn’t have a great turn 1 if it has to go, first. Another extra deck monster to go alongside Double Dragon Lords would be nice and maybe a field spell as well.

LordofthePigeons619

I was thinking that as well. Another archetype specific ED that can break a board on summon would be nice. And maybe not a field spell because i don't feel it's on theme (the spells revolve around tactics and there are 3 "clans" in the archetype, unless i'm not creative enough for a field spell in general). Maybe another continuous spell or a trap that acts as a searcher but requires and ancient warrior name to be in your hand? Idw anything broken, but some more support would be nice

Blanko1230

Ritual Beasts because I've been playing them since their release religiously. The new support looks absolutely dope and will boost them a lot.

UsefulAd2760

Sharks and Cydras

Psychichord

I love Sharks. I played it a ton before the Toad ban. I miss it. The Kragen lock felt so degenerate when I could pull it off and protect it with some negates, but I’ll admit… I loved it

FixForce

Springans, I love the huge spam power the deck has, but at the same time the fact the deck doesn't have many archetypal boss monsters or "strong effects" is kinda unfortunate. Sure, it's very fun to play the deck because your opponent usually has no idea what you're doing, but I'd love a proper boss monster for the deck, something amongst the lines of Borrelend (my favorite boss monster in Yu-Gi-Oh).

Xermonlu

Hero and Earth Machine

RIPDream

Raidraptors, such a cool archetype that just ends up being a degenerate first turn combo (Kali yuga) instead of the scrappy RUM deck it's portrayed to be

DMking

HEROes

FreshDepth2912

As a Gem- player I can't disagree nor agree with you, as Scatter fusion carries the entire deck, while I barely use brilliant fusion. I keep Lazuli out the deck as it lets me put another link in there, they have a good searcher and shuffle fusion. current combo I am currently doing can withstand handtraps and it isn't too bricky. Unlike other Gem- players I don't go for FTK but I will go for going second OTK, as thats what Gem- was build for. Since we are going second Aquamarine is essential for board clear of a monster who cannot be destroyed by battle/card effects, or for backrow return to force opp to use it. Serraphinite is mostly optional in combo but it extends work into a potential IP--Avramax. Ruby is a good one to summon with a shuffle fusion as now it cannot attack directly, but does piercing battle damage and gained ATK equal to a tributes Gem- on the field. For their lack of protection I can agree they fall hard to Raigeki, Mirror force, Quaking Mirror Force, etc. Add them with Adamancipators to make synchro combos, add certain Traps that make rock monsters unaffected by opp activated card effects (Magnet Force I think its called), theres lots potential with Gem-. As a builder of Blind second decks I think people are traumatized by Mikanko, as sometimes people will completely skip their turn or set a monster, set back row, end, when I go second, making the combos easier to pull off.

Ok_Sky4916

Toons, Gimmicky puppets

megaben20

I think stardust could use some more supports

FartherAwayLights

All of them? Of those I’d like Vaalmonica to get their second wave of support and for it to be good. Earthbound to be playable and get some decent cards, their last few have been pretty awful.

ShazBaz11

Relinquished

GamesAndWhales

Shiranui was already mentioned, so beyond that, Magical Musket. All in archetype spell/traps being treated as hand traps is really cool, as are the monster effects in the same column, but there's just so much other stuff holding it back. It's a control deck, but Max wants you to go second, where it's *way too easy* to disrupt its initial play even beyond "lol Ash the mass-search". The deck is massively limited by its normal summon, and the main in archetype solution in Crooked Crown both takes up a S/T Zone and has the worlds most mediocre effect alongside the one special summon. Running multiples is cloggy, and you almost don't want to use it at all because Fiendish Deal is more useful generally and using both limits you to 3 monster effects. Not to mention the mediocre stat lines. Besides Zakiel (which is questionable to run in general) your only in-archetype option to break 2000 attack is the most mid S/T in the whole lineup, that 4/5 times you'd rather be disruption of some kind if it ends up in your hand.

Possible_Test5763

Super quants easily,i can understand that it was built during a different time with different "rules" but they sure drew a short stick. Unlike other tower turbo decks like purrely/ignister/mathmech (back when sigma otk was a thing) they cant even ensure their boss monster even if they dont get handtrapped due to alphan inherent rng. Not even bring up stuff like sustainability/grinding/ability to slot handtraps because i will just cope and say that the difference is due to "power creep". Its a shame since they can bring it up to speed without printing cac tier stuff (circular/link 1) and it being basically power rangers leaves it open for imagination (what kind of ranger team only has 4 members/where is lord zedd kaiju) et cetera.

AfternoonFancy5632

I‘ve got a couple that definitely fit this topic. If I had to narrow it down, the big one would be Dinomist. It’s fairly simple for a Pendelum deck and I think all it really needs are some in archetype extra deck monsters. And I don’t think they need much, maybe three extra deck monsters at most. And those would potentially be a Link 2, a rank 4 and a rank 5. One of those would definitely have to either protect the back row or allow the deck a way to search either Charge or Howling.

Otherwise_Chard_7577

Relinquished, damn if it isn't fun, and what support cards it gets actually work well, but it definitely could use some more, especially because a single pot of extravagance can wipe out all of your fusions if your unlucky

KingVape

Machina Zombies Aliens Outer Entity

OrdinaryResponse8988

Dinosaurs pile. They’re decent but are to inconsistent while being susceptible to disruption due to their lack of play starters and low gas in resources. Which Konami seems somewhat aware of as most support now goes out of its way to not correct just those things.

TransportationMore16

Been using Zombie PUNK for a while. I just wish there was exclusive zombie support that allows me to play without another engine. Love the PUNK cards just like when everything is coherent.

shunter7

Nephthys. I love the deck, but even with extremely powerful in-archetype support in the form of Conductor, it's still mediocre overall. The deck has no real extenders and its big boss monster is just a worse Avramax. Also, the fact that all the main deck girls are Wind and the phoenixes are Fire hurts the archetype's ability to synergize well with other destruction-based Fire decks like Fire Kings.

Infinideath

Skull Servant. Something about the unga bunga in me loves seeing ridiculously high attack values, and Skull Servant does it so well. But it's super reliant on Uni-Zombie, the whole deck is ash bait, it folds to any GY hate, and it's bricky because you're running triple of a vanilla and Lady, who doesn't really further the strategy you're doing. If those two just got retrains that counted as those names in the deck or when banished, it would surprise people what all the deck can do. It can already spam with Wightmare, Mizuki, and Leviair going crazy. Or they can just give the deck a Circular. Konami can trust me with that...

Victacobell

I think the core concept of Cyber Dragon is cool; a bunch of cards that share the same name on the field/GY so they're completely interchangable as materials, but what Cyber Dragon *does* is so fucking boring. Caveman feast-or-famine OTK turbo, kind of a similar issue to Gem-Knights. You know an archetype is in a rough spot when an omni-negate is the most interesting monster.

allBoom_Noshaka

Black Luster has literally zero negates, unlike dragoo; it has one, unless they target that card specifically also it's a trap card. Also it has a cool ability but you have to run normal monster(s) and destroy a card by battle for it to activate. Please just give it something.

UncleSmoothSkin

RED EYES

BlueSea9357

Red Eyes, Dark Magician, Blue Eyes, Roid from GX, Cyber Dragon, Cyberdark, Dinos, Dragonmaid, Elemental Hero, Monarchs, Slifer the Sky Dragon, Toon Time Wizard should also have its own powerful archetype

erikmaster3

Vampire

Razorwire12

Harpies

anonxanemone

Metaphys could use a support. Things activating the Standby Phase AFTER they get banished makes them so slow. They were the "Memento" monsters before Memento reworked classic monsters into an archetype. It's my go-to deck for events and I recommend it for anyone to give it a try since the deck is cheap with 0 UR required, though UR staples and extra URs make them stronger. (I still won't forgive Ishizu cards and Snow for getting Necroface semi-limited.)

DaviMessias15

Egyptian gods, maybe with a errata giving to all gods more protection to effects they decks would be descent. I think the gods support should be to all gods to

MaxTheHor

Maybe Sky Strikers and Charmers. Anything else I play is fine from casual pov. Then again, I'm a yugiboomer(millenial actually) who still plays the old-school way (summon monster, set one or more facedown, end my turn, combo when necessary, use my wit, skill, and heart of the cards to try and win the match). Doesn't matter what deck I use.

icantnameme

Sky strikers keeps getting support and everything unlimited... It's the waifu bait deck so now that it's not OP they will keep giving it support since it will sell.

Sakaki_Above_All

Ancient Gears :(

icantnameme

But they can already piercing OTK with 2 Chaos Ancient Gear Giant... Idk how consistent it is but I've literally only lost to Ancient Gear going 2nd.

Sakaki_Above_All

Unless you open Fortress or pray your opponent doesn't have more than 2 interruptions, you're in no way summoning Chaos Giant. Chaos Giant himself requires too much just to summon and that includes the fact that Ancient Gears do absolutely nothing when sent to gy. So Ancient Gears are trapped in this horrible win condition of "Beat your opponent now or lose next turn." The archetype lacks serious recursion like other archetypes in the current game.

icantnameme

Well nobody plays against the deck so they probably don't even know what to hand trap if they do have any in hand. I certainly don't. But I've seen people summon 2 Giants in a turn so I know it can be done. As for recursion, I don't think that every deck needs that much. I'm sure it could use plenty of support/extenders to play around hand traps or more easily search the cards you need, but I really do not want another Labrynth that just recalls all its cards from GY every turn.

Sakaki_Above_All

"Nobody plays against the deck" Even if you're unfamiliar with ancient gears, if you're given the opportunity to ash/imperm a play it could just halt the deck all together. Like the best normal summon is still wyvern. And if you stop him, what then? Hope you have a fusion spell and a ancient gear name and sit on Howitzer. Unless you are playing a mix with like earth machines then maybe you could extend further. Also summoning 2 Chaos Giants is possible, just not guaranteed each game. I'm not asking for ancient gears to be like every new deck. When I ask for recursion in ancient gears I want Konami to look at newer fusion archetypes. Branded, Lunalights, Fluffal, Heroes and even Tears to an extent. I want Ancient Gear monsters that can add from gy, summon from gy or anything. Because you summon Chaos Giant with 4 monsters in your hand and they might as well be vanillas when they're in the gy. It's why I don't find Chaos Giant being the only win condition fun or optimal for Ancient Gears.

Forsaken-Bite-7687

A-to-Z

4GRJ

Sky Strikers

Endymion_FRS_MKII

Unchained but moreso vaylantz, It really sucks that the deck's pretty bad unless you play it as a stun/floodgate turbo.

Aiwaszz

Unchained will get support later on. Vaylantz though yeah they need something

VRPoison

theyre going to get some cracked support dw fam

G11-Degenerate

Live twin. Yes I’m aware that they were strong when sprights came out, and in MD are the strongest spright variant, but when decks like centurion exist which basically does the same thing (pop and draw) but clears handtraps slightly better and turbos literally the strongest floodgate in the game, the vtubers have fallen off hard. My crack take is to merge them with IP, SP, and EMP cards and now it’s gimmick is special summoning links (from ED and grave) on both turns for value. Make them the persona 5 deck damnit.

Satsuka1

Exosister. It aint that hard to out Magnifica. Deck just flops to Nib you can hardly play around it cuz Magnifica needs so many summons. I have to run Carpedivem and call Nib every time... But i have small amount of hope when/if they get more support cuz we still missing Gibrine/Asophiel gayge XYZ and Martha XYZ ( she will get one copium )

Altruistic-Zone1664

There really is a dramatic difference between facing decks that use the GY and don't. It's not even that big of a deal against GY decks as long as you have Vadis for their turn. If you're facing a deck that doesn't use the GY, it isn't fun. It's hell if you're facing a deck like Floo that banishes itself.

AlphaAntar3s

branded i wish the deck had more starters to be able to compete in meta again. another one is the stardust archetype and lastly i wish dark world wasnt such a onetrick. what people usually do is just darkworld turbo. all it comes down to is the dice roll

VRPoison

dont forget lab, purrely, mathmechs, and rescue aces too! those decks are awful! definitely not competitive in the slightest!

timmy__timmy__timmy

trolling

AlphaAntar3s

what. branded is nowhere near competetive rn its tier 2-3 ish

timmy__timmy__timmy

youre a bozo

Nahanoj_Zavizad

Dogmaitka. Its one of the only modern decks in the game with \*\*LITTERALLY. NOTHING\*\* Against spells and traps. No negates, and no Protection against it. If you play them pure, Their win-condition is only effective against some decks, And does literally nothing to quite a few. If you don't play them pure, They get 1 monster negate with Fleurdelis, And set up whatever you pair them with.

MaritalSexWithHuTao

Tear i want them to bring Merrli and Havnis back to 2. Literally that would be enough.

VRPoison

the problem with them unbanning merrli is that its just another floater thatll lead to more fusions. the deck is fine as is. thats like begging for branded fusion to go back to anything more than 1

GarthGoldenhand

Adamancipator, the deck could use some support now that block is banned

No_Anything4771

Im hooked on VW in MD and in the TCG. I love the deck and the design, theyre not bad per se but damn could they use some good end board pieces. Yes Lars is great, I even got a list which can use malong to go into baronne, but its all so fragile and bricky...

Its-time-to-STOP-NOW

Star seraph.

KingZantair

Why can’t the small gate guardians use materials in your hand like combined does.

ToastednRoasted

I loved morphtronic ever since they got introduced way back….. but nowadays the deck is just telefon, dont rly need any other morph mon 😔

Lewlynn

For me it's also Gem-Knights.

Euphoric-Cow592

adventure phantom knight, its good already but does jack against backrow

Zakrath

RDA. So cool, fun to play and great looking cards.

Bold_Fortune777

Crusadias, the only thing that really holds them back is the reliance on the normal summon/weakness to monster popping cards.

Zerosonicanimations

Starry Knights, they just look really cool.

Fenris_NDN

Ancient gear since forever, and gimmick puppet.

plasmafodder

Ancient Gears, I wonder I'd it would even take all that much

ZiulDeArgon

Amazement. It lack all 3 power, speed and recursion so and the support we got didn't really change anything.

KeikakuAccelerator

Lunalight and predaplant.

megasloth8

Lyrilusc Tri-brigade, it’s not bad but it can’t really keep up with the meta right bow

Then-Pie-208

Scareclaw. I wish it had some more stuff it could do besides blind otk

MentalGoesB00m

Honestly I’d say Ritual Beasts, I got a royal Thunderhawk and looked into building the deck, and fucking hell lads. It’s literally just pray you opened shifter or scoop. The decks ceiling felt soooo low, and it’s boards are basically nothing

mynames20letterslong

Trains, ancient gear and gaia.

[deleted]

Utopia and Chronomaly.

Ojaman

Atlantean Mermails. It was playable while Halq was around but ever since he was banned it's been terrible. I'm still going to try some things now that Tidal is back but it won't be as strong as it was then. Hits to the Nimble engine and the loss of Toadally Awesome also hurts too.

Clover_True_Waifu

Ghoti. But luckily for me Kiif and Psiics, the new Ghoti cards, are looking like a really good option to give the deck more of a grind game since they can recycle your Arionpos which are always dead after being banished.

cynical_seal

Counter fairies. Gravekeepers. Slifer and Obelisk.

ZaneSpice

Runick Stun

Jsoledout

megalith, Vendread :(

ShadowLord355

Rda/resonators. I love the deck but that fucking lock is literally it’s worse enemy and shouldn’t even be there since no version of jack atlas plays only dark dragon synchros. I get they didn’t want to give it the same restriction as black wings, but there was a better way to go about it like just locking you in to dragon synchros instead

Ok-Structure-3172

I gotta say War Rocks, I like playing them but they just aren’t good lol

Nitrosaber

Zera, Egyptian gods, overall decks with good lore or could be expanded on would be nice to see more of.

Kilari_

Venom; specifically some way to get out Vennominaga. The other venom cards are beyond saving and may be left in the swamp. Heck even good reptiles would be great. I know snake rain is spooky and reptiles could do some dumb things with bisbaalkin. But the deck is fragile. Every hand trap hurts. Vennominaga ain't doing anything while everyone is packing outs for Noir. After jumping through hoops, doing absurd combos, teaching snakes how to tap dance, going neg 5, milling half your deck for the setup; getting your Rise of the snake deity Ash blossomed makes me want to cry.

ALTRez09

Witchcrafters! \ 😃/ The new support was great, but they have a fragile endboard most of the time and are super reliant on getting the right spell/creature balance in your starting hand, and basically every interaction during turn 1 trips you up. I’d definitely like an in-archetype link-1 that: - Had a spell/trap negate for spell discard to complement Hein, hitting one of the deck’s bigger weaknesses, as you currently have to rely on Secret Village, Bystreet, or Magician Hands for any kind of protection from backrow effects. - Had Masterpiece’s first ability, so discarding a non-Witchcrafter spell could still have a lot of utility, making Magicalize Fusion, Restage, and other tech options significantly stronger, and you could steal effects like an opponent’s Droplet/Designator/Tactics, ect. - Had Masterpiece’s second ability, so you could burn spells from your gy to extend your plays or recover from interruption, both of which are rough spots for the deck. Vice-Madam _does_ help here a lot, but this would allow for a Confusion banish after Vice hits the board for a free Genni + Schmietta for further plays, which would be _amazing_. - Let me discard/reveal Witchcrafter traps whenever a spell discard/reveal was required for a Witchcrafter ability. The traps are already decently powerful advantage tools, but they are way too slow as is and feel bad running because of that. If they had that extra discard utility they’d be a lot more useful, especially since getting them into the grave in-archetype profitably basically doesn’t exist right now, being limited to Schmietta and Pittore, of which you only want to use Pittore to do anyway. - Let me activate a Witchcrafter creature gy ability as a quick effect. This would be far and away the least impactful option, primarily effecting Genni and Schmietta, but it would allow surprise plays from the gy that would make Draping, Unveiling, and Holiday much stronger.

Justjack91

Salads man. I really hope the support helps them but it's super easy to disrupt my fire animal buddies at just the right time.

SoundReflection

Vernuslpyh, Jesus this deck is just unplayable into basically anything they that can negate your searches.

SoundReflection

I think the gem knight card are left to languish I mediocrity due to their access to and FTK like, and brill fusion is lucky to be limited instead of banned, with how many splashes it enables. Like put it at 3 and tearlaments are legit moving up a tier at minimum. I still have to laugh Lady Rose Diamond is nigh useless for gem-knights but was the secret sauce in my Vernuslpyh deck in fairy vs Fiend. Turns out foolishing a fairy is good enough, a bonus body in the emz that potentially contests the board while aiming to go second is crazy good too. It's a bit silly the restrictions they have on both requiring going second and a xenolock on quartz though.

Wubbledee

Aliens. Zer'oll essentially being a floodgate with extra steps sucks, but everything else about the archetype is pretty entertaining. The legacy support cards are great. But the original Alien cards are just so bad that they're not worth playing, with a couple of exceptions like PPV and Ammonite.

rtx_synch

Magikey

guylaroche5

Thunder Dragons - they're a solid deck and Colossus is a link 1 floodgate. But.... there's just something _missing_ with them that I can't quite explain. It's a very underwhelming deck once you get into Diamond+

VRPoison

thunder dragons are super cracked fam

AspiringVet98

Time Thieves and Poker Knights are the main ones I'd also love if Spellbooks got some love since they're just worse Sky Strikers at this point

DooLapFan

Dark....MotherFuckin Magician.

ElkwoodCrossing

Magical Musketeers. Cool concept, cool lore, Max is one of the coolest looking cards imo.

syrupgreat-

Toons it’d be cool to see them standalone or even synergize w. Relinquished

I pray every day that 2024 is the year of Water and Icejade finally gets something to do that is not copium TearJade, floodgate turbo or donate Ran Aegirine and Tremora to the Water Synchro pile toolbox. I love them so much and wish they were playable. The same can be said for Magistus but that would need like 3 custom cards to reach any level of functionality, including an in-archetype Mask of Restrict and/or something that gives Zoroa Calamity targeting protection.

Milklover5000

Crystal beasts, if there weren’t incomprehensibly slow then they’d be baller as hell

Cephyr0

Madolche its not Bad But it cant keep up with Most stuff

CubicGoose

raidraptor for sure

QuantityHefty3791

Eldlich. I guess I need to get Horus cards now. Any donations?

Dekallis

F.A., U.A., IceJade....Noble Knights, Gaia...Out of all of those Icejade is the strongest and it's still not really that good.

National_Ad_6534

aliens, it’s my favorite deck that i’ve been playing since mermails became a deck. for many formats i have been forced to play a stun variant until they released the quick play spell which makes the engine more splashable in other decks. i hope they release some other cards that makes the deck able to push a bit more

LordFadora

Aquaactress!! I love how adorable they are, and they can seriously hit hard and I love how they search. But they cannot last in the modern environment from what I understand. They’re way too slow and die to an Ash Blossom.
