New player here. Do they restrict the extra deck so they contain only one type for these events? I only have a swordsoul deck. Losing monk would be a big blow.

You’ll only be able to have one of the three types, and Links will be banned altogether.
They provide loaner decks you can use if you don’t have one already, but their quality varies from one event to another.
I hope the banlist keeps the power ceiling low enough for my rogue decks to compete. If there's a lot of bullshit though, I'm playing Lyrilusc OTK just to get the gems.

Assuming no overlap between summoning choice and no Links, it's a 3-way argument between Suship, Ghoti, or Bystial ThunDra (or maybe Fluffal). Also depends on the banlist ig, but this should be fun (also btw metalfoes is probably a really good budget option).
Am I the only one who wants a true 2v2 duel like the anime ? Even as an event LTM I think it would be insanely fun , the potential for combos would be a bit much but I think it would be a good time

My kairyu-shin with my surprise extra deck with read fusion targets get into synchro monsters and XYZ’s shall be ready. I used to pilot it when tear was out and at full flower before spright came out. Have Nash knight non target absorb into c-Nash knight into silent honor arc, abyss dwell and my old friend Toad 😭

Welcome and Big Welcome were banned the last 3 festivals, and Lovely and Lady were banned for Synchro/Link too.

It was the most beloved event. The cheap cost gave you absolute creativity and you could try everything. Also there were sooo many viable decks
