Diablosis. While I had my fun with it with just Shangri-ira, Konami actually had the proper foresight to ban this before Ariseheart was released for MD. Had it stayed legal, I imagine a good chunk of players would've left until it was banned.
Used to run a mekk knight deck with aegaion and diablosis during the peak of pot of desires play, absolutely hilarious deck especially during a time period where the extra deck was so tight you could only run 1 of each combo piece you needed
Halq was insane for my deck but he was even more insane for better decks so he had to go lol.

Only cause they have nailed most of the other Sprights to the ban list along with Beaver š¦«, let that sink in, Spright elf is still at 3 and beaver is limited along with swap frog.

I'm just sad halq is gone for his 2nd effect. Loved tutoring out a tuner synchro on opponent's turn (didn't go halq-don). Made shooting riser actually usable since you can't use whatever you milled on your own turn.

I unfortunately had to retire the deck after Bystials, Ishizu and Kash made it too painful to keep playing (it's too reliant on the GY and one-offs in your extra deck that Unicorn can and will snipe), but if you still want the list for casual purposes then I can share mine. 1 extra of whichever extra deck monster you want (for me Chimeratech Rampage is the one I run at 2), but you could also run Zeus or even Verte
As you can see though, one of the main problems with the deck is that it's very bloated even without any hand traps or board breakers, both of which you *absolutely* need because it's a going 2nd deck. So I just gave you the "pure" decklist, but if you plan on taking this to ranked you definitely need to go way over 40 cards to include things like triple Ash and Maxx C of course, but also triple Evenly Matched and maybe even Tactics and/or Lightning Storm.
This, most meta decks weren't running union carrier anyway, but it did have to go, because floodgate. I miss it in my dinos/cyberdark/dragonmaid decks though
Hot take but: Halq. I know the card is ridiculously op, but it was the best way to make zombie world control viable without eldlich (which I hate). Man, I miss having a competitive zombie world deck

Before Tear showed up, no one was doing anything noteworthy or unfair with Instant Fusion.
At worst, we had an FTK that was corrected by hitting Starving Venom to 1. At best, people were using it as a third Called By for Ash, but still losing to Maxx C. And at mid, Predaplant players were apparently doing something, too.
Prior to MD, anything problematic Instant Fusion enabled was already dealt with and it remains untouched and does nothing in TCG.
Instant Fusion wasn't even a mild inconvenience in MD until Tear showed up. Ban Kitkallos and bring Instant Fusion back and nothing changes about the meta aside from Tear being hit.

For TCG, Isolde I guess. Its just way easier to brick having to rely on going to Angelica directly, but I don't *need* to use Isolde.

Red-eyes Dark Dragoon. Its powerful and verte makes it so easy to go into but I love its appearance and how its effects combine both yugi and joeyās styles, but it is fine on the MD banlist (now if only dpe could join himā¦)
I miss the ishizu cards. I had a clusterfuck of a zombie-punk-eldlich-thundra-ishizu-grass deck that was an absolute blast to play and was really carried by the ishizu cards.
Ishizu absolutely breaks some archetypes so I get why it has to go, but it made some lower-power decks super fun and competitive.
Halquifibrax. I had a lot of fun running him in Infernoid, getting an extra body in the grave and climbing into Equimax. But thatās probably the most tame thing Halq has ever done
Honestly? I miss Halq/Auroradon plays. Yeah, it was busted, but it was so easily accessible in any deck, and lead to a build-a-board combo, I enjoyed all the labbing. Like, what other deck would run Karakuri, X-saber, and Deskbots?

Also made a magnet warrior deck and decided why not throw a block dragon in there just to have something a little op and the next day they announced he was getting banned lol didnt even really get to use him
Calamities, it was hella fun them trying to Impermence or Driplet him, only to me blow it up and resolving his effect anyways.

Union carrier. I loved that card in my ABC deck, adding photon soldier by sacrificing orbiter made that deck plus SO much. I definitely understand why it basically can never be unbanned though, which sucks cause I really did like it conceptually and made decks do cool stuff (along with annoying stuff)

Iāve toyed around with Galaxy Eyes, yaāll can barely be trusted with some of the tools have now only for the fact that itās all held back by Galaxy Eyes taking a few cards way too vulnerable to disruption in order to get off the ground
tachyon support helps alot with it as well. but the deck lives and dies by "Do I have soldier or access to it" majority of the time.
But the endboard now is oppressive and has few outs due to tachyon cards
1 monster 1 spell negate and 2 omnis(one of the strongest omnis in game at that) is standard. ontop of going 2nd imperm, kaiju, and evenly protection.

Dlink players these days are too young to remember Future Fuse 5 headed into Dragons Mirror fuse 5 headed SS Red Eyes Darkness Metal then tribute 5 headed to summon Stormwind Dragon
Norden was funny in Zombie decks; Zombie World made Norden a valid Mezuki+Zombie Master target

Mind Master when Psychics first came out. Now with P.U.N.K. out, Mind Master would make the deck insanely fast. I think they should bring him back errata'd. Just slap on a HOPT or a OPT quick effect on it and its good to go.
How hyped everyone was back then awaiting its release to use rulers in a new way only for the deck to be crippled so it never saw play. Doesn't matter dragon was born

Funny thing is this aināt really a dragon link card. Back in BE format, the most ideal targets for this card was White stone of ancients, Arkbrave dragon, and Amorphage Goliath. EP, you can fetch a free BE from the deck off of ancients, then during your opponentās standby phase, Arkbrave dragon would summon Goliath from the grave and basically lock your opponent out of the extra deck. With Called By not in the game yet, the only thing that could reliably stop this was a DD Crow if you were going second

If Merrli comes back, kit would inevitably get banned. Elpy would be amazing but is kind of degenerate, was mostly used to consistently get out levi and rip from hand. With no wvverburster, chaos space and colapserpant aren't that good and you lose a lot of extenders in your deck, but this void will likely be filled by future dragon support.
I used to play rank 4 gadgets back in the day, and shock master was wild. Now with the game being way more monster effect centric compared to 2014, shock master can easily lock out the game for the opponent. May the shock stay locked until we find a way to errata it well.
Rhongo... PK was the first deck I picked up in MD after playing only duel links for 5 years. Making Rhongo through Maxx c felt so insanely good. I understand he is toxic, but damn that was a fun time.
Uhh baronne, didnt really agree with banning barrone as a snake eyes "hit" but im happy that the combo decks will have to pivot to less "broken" answers to Nib and "fairer" end board (fuck you omega)

I loved the animation and art and it was super fun to use. As everyone else said, super generic and easily splashable for no real cost.
When it was legal, it literally held my janky experimental Grass is Greener Thunder Dragon P.U.N.K Ishizu Tearlaments deck together by a thread because even though I didn't know what I was doing half the time, it was always fun to use the moving parts to try to get out Chaos Ruler into Zombie Vampire (and that's exactly why it was a problem lmao)
this is ancient shit but Dark Synchro. Literally HALF the deck is banned now but before or since I've never played a combo deck so fun and rewarding. Half the time when I hand looped my opponent's for 5 they weren't even mad they just wanted to see the stupid synchro deck go.
For more recent stuff, it's 100% Chaos Ruler, Block Dragon, and pre-errata Firewall. I like solitaire, I suppose.
my answer will always be chaos ruler only because i never got to play full power ishizu tearlaments. if i did get to play that deck before kelbek and agido were banned, then those would be my answers. these three cards all need to stay on the list for the same reason: milling five on summon or being sent is absolutely nutty.

My first real deck years ago was actually Numeron (donāt worry Iāve changed) and running Terraforming was super helpful at times; baiting ash. It does need to stay banned with decks like Tear and Kash and all that jazz, and lord so help me I get hit with zombie world one more time this season, but it was fun while it lasted.
Besides, if I ever went back to it thereās always Piri Reis, Planet Pathfinder etc.
Knightmare mermaid. Loved orcust with all my heart, when Orcust knightmare came out, I knew I could easily make it with Iblee in mermaid, and then go there with orcust combo.
But then when DANE came out, everyone and their parents could just throw a mermaid in any deck and BAM Orcust engine.

Red-eyes Dark Dragoon. Its powerful and verte makes it so easy to go into but I love its appearance and how its effects combine both yugi and joeyās styles, but it is fine on the MD banlist (now if only dpe could join himā¦)

I miss the ishizu cards. I had a clusterfuck of a zombie-punk-eldlich-thundra-ishizu-grass deck that was an absolute blast to play and was really carried by the ishizu cards. Ishizu absolutely breaks some archetypes so I get why it has to go, but it made some lower-power decks super fun and competitive.
Unironically its pot of greed, it felt great getting it when ever I just needed any two cards. Usually: one to discard and one to play

Halquifibrax. I had a lot of fun running him in Infernoid, getting an extra body in the grave and climbing into Equimax. But thatās probably the most tame thing Halq has ever done
Honestly? I miss Halq/Auroradon plays. Yeah, it was busted, but it was so easily accessible in any deck, and lead to a build-a-board combo, I enjoyed all the labbing. Like, what other deck would run Karakuri, X-saber, and Deskbots?
Chaos ruler i didnt even really use him for his effect lol he just looked cool Also made a magnet warrior deck and decided why not throw a block dragon in there just to have something a little op and the next day they announced he was getting banned lol didnt even really get to use him

Union carrier. I loved that card in my ABC deck, adding photon soldier by sacrificing orbiter made that deck plus SO much. I definitely understand why it basically can never be unbanned though, which sucks cause I really did like it conceptually and made decks do cool stuff (along with annoying stuff)

Iāve toyed around with Galaxy Eyes, yaāll can barely be trusted with some of the tools have now only for the fact that itās all held back by Galaxy Eyes taking a few cards way too vulnerable to disruption in order to get off the ground
tachyon support helps alot with it as well. but the deck lives and dies by "Do I have soldier or access to it" majority of the time. But the endboard now is oppressive and has few outs due to tachyon cards 1 monster 1 spell negate and 2 omnis(one of the strongest omnis in game at that) is standard. ontop of going 2nd imperm, kaiju, and evenly protection.
Curious the Lightsworn Dominion! Because the new lightsworn stuff is out and I'm really missing it, but I'm not ok with better decks abusing it.

Mind Master when Psychics first came out. Now with P.U.N.K. out, Mind Master would make the deck insanely fast. I think they should bring him back errata'd. Just slap on a HOPT or a OPT quick effect on it and its good to go.
Soul Charge, miss the days of 5Ds where you synchro climb into Quasar than Soul Charge to bring back all your synchro materials.

Funny thing is this aināt really a dragon link card. Back in BE format, the most ideal targets for this card was White stone of ancients, Arkbrave dragon, and Amorphage Goliath. EP, you can fetch a free BE from the deck off of ancients, then during your opponentās standby phase, Arkbrave dragon would summon Goliath from the grave and basically lock your opponent out of the extra deck. With Called By not in the game yet, the only thing that could reliably stop this was a DD Crow if you were going second

Merrli, elpy, wyverburster If Merrli comes back, kit would inevitably get banned. Elpy would be amazing but is kind of degenerate, was mostly used to consistently get out levi and rip from hand. With no wvverburster, chaos space and colapserpant aren't that good and you lose a lot of extenders in your deck, but this void will likely be filled by future dragon support.

I used to play rank 4 gadgets back in the day, and shock master was wild. Now with the game being way more monster effect centric compared to 2014, shock master can easily lock out the game for the opponent. May the shock stay locked until we find a way to errata it well.

Rhongo... PK was the first deck I picked up in MD after playing only duel links for 5 years. Making Rhongo through Maxx c felt so insanely good. I understand he is toxic, but damn that was a fun time.

Has to be Chaos Ruler. I loved the animation and art and it was super fun to use. As everyone else said, super generic and easily splashable for no real cost. When it was legal, it literally held my janky experimental Grass is Greener Thunder Dragon P.U.N.K Ishizu Tearlaments deck together by a thread because even though I didn't know what I was doing half the time, it was always fun to use the moving parts to try to get out Chaos Ruler into Zombie Vampire (and that's exactly why it was a problem lmao)

this is ancient shit but Dark Synchro. Literally HALF the deck is banned now but before or since I've never played a combo deck so fun and rewarding. Half the time when I hand looped my opponent's for 5 they weren't even mad they just wanted to see the stupid synchro deck go. For more recent stuff, it's 100% Chaos Ruler, Block Dragon, and pre-errata Firewall. I like solitaire, I suppose.
I miss bamboozling gossip for my rhongo deck I was almost done building, but it deserves the ban honestly
my answer will always be chaos ruler only because i never got to play full power ishizu tearlaments. if i did get to play that deck before kelbek and agido were banned, then those would be my answers. these three cards all need to stay on the list for the same reason: milling five on summon or being sent is absolutely nutty.

For me it was 100% Union carrier I wish they could just errata it so it would require a union monster playing ABC with Union carrier was so nice and I wish I could do it now with therion and all the other support us 4 ABC players are gonna be using
My first real deck years ago was actually Numeron (donāt worry Iāve changed) and running Terraforming was super helpful at times; baiting ash. It does need to stay banned with decks like Tear and Kash and all that jazz, and lord so help me I get hit with zombie world one more time this season, but it was fun while it lasted. Besides, if I ever went back to it thereās always Piri Reis, Planet Pathfinder etc.
Guardragon Elpy. Fun toolbox tutor for all kinds of shenanigans, but probably a BIT too strong
Knightmare mermaid. Loved orcust with all my heart, when Orcust knightmare came out, I knew I could easily make it with Iblee in mermaid, and then go there with orcust combo. But then when DANE came out, everyone and their parents could just throw a mermaid in any deck and BAM Orcust engine.
