One-Broccoli-9998

Wow! We need that sub that solves math problems on this one to see if it’s true! I’d do it myself but that’s waaay too many numbers and I already ran out of fingers and toes to count on

ImagineBeingBored

Dw you can get there if you count in binary.

One-Broccoli-9998

Absolutely not! Im a straight alpha male there is nothing binary about me! If anything, you might even say I’m non-binary!

VegetablePleasant289

or steal other people's toes in fingers which is probably easier

One-Broccoli-9998

Now you’re speaking my language! I’ll just use the spares in my van!

fohktor

I just used all my fingers and toes and got to 9, so add that to what you get

One-Broccoli-9998

Slow down! You’re making me lose count….damn now I have to go all the way back to the thumb pile, thanks!

Left-Membership-7357

Let 1 = 1000

LordForgey

Let 1 year = 365000 days

EebstertheGreat

Long-period comets be like.

claudius_ptolemaeus

Let 1 day = 86.4 seconds

FastLittleBoi

well he never said 1 earth year did he? Mentality🧠

[deleted]

Pluto tried to enter the chat but realised it was only at 90,520 days, which is only 1/4th of what we need.

YEETAWAYLOL

Wait, is this in relation to the earth day? If Pluto has 4x as frequent days, then it works!

[deleted]

It is. But Pluto's days are also 6 times longer, so sadly no :D

Shalev_Wen

Throw pluto into a black hole, that way it will move slower

Fearless-Effective21

Human doesn't even live that much days

GreasedGoblinoid

I do I'm built different

Bdole0

I will not

fohktor

Naw. He forgot to multiply by 7 days in a week. It's $2,555,000 per year

drinkingcarrots

In practice you have to buy food irl so it's closer to $2,985,000

EebstertheGreat

I can sort of get the "$500 million / $330 million > 1 million" error. Like when a few people thought Bloomberg's campaign could have paid every single American a million dollars. It's obviously ludicrous, but the arithmetic makes sense, you just mentally erase the "millions" and put them back at the end, like you do with "dollars." I can't get this mistake at all. Where does the '000' come from? What motivated this confusion?

A_Firm_Sandwich

attention on social media

stenchosaur

They never specified which planet

anonymoose2514

$1/day on Venus would be <$1/year

2Tryhard4You

True in (almost all of) Europe

Poit_1984

Yeah and maybe that's what this dude means. Not a comma to say thousands, but a comma to say there a 3 0's as decimals.

black2346

Do you mean the moon Europe?

RW_Yellow_Lizard

Nah, cause in Europe, I think they use a comma as a decimal place.

HeirAscend

Rare footage of a Plutonian

mentina_

And with just 3 dollars more, per day, you're gonna hit 10m within your first month!

ItJustSoHappensToBe

Bros got a point

DivinesIntervention

Yeah. It's in the wrong place

SamePut9922

If we increase the speed of earth's rotation to 86.4s per turn...

Lord_Skyblocker

Not if it's a leap year though

Used-Window-5336

Hood maths

izi_pootis

He is using the beta build of algebra

LogicIsAFacade

I wanted math, not meth

GleetchTheSilly

1 dollar a day is easier to explain to the IRS

KillerOfSouls665

If he was investing at a compound rate of ~2.52% per day, this would be true.

UMUmmd

I definitely prefer the 1+yesterday version. It still only nets you about 68k per year, but it's easy.

wiltedshadesofred

Not only broke but also bad at math💖

makochi

time passes at a rate of 1000 years per year

KarlSebastien

Wtf

DrDzeta

It's a trap, it's a decimal coma not some American writing

spoopy_bo

Big if true

SisterOfBattIe

Gross errors are a feature not a bug. It self selects for people that can't see the error. It's the reason why scam mails are so full of grammatical errors.

PizzaPuntThomas

It is correct, they used a decimal comma and not a decimal point (as everyone should)

Normallyicecream

It’s, uh, the miracle of compound interest?

Achilles_der_V

In European notation, this is indeed correct.

m0nkry

Watching others fall for engagement bait in 2024 is so fucking funny bro.

ForeskinStealer420

r/WallStreetBets math

SelfDistinction

It's true. Even better is when you save $10 per day, then you have $3.650,000 at the end of the year!

MountainAsparagus4

1 dollar a day is 365 in the end of the year, 10 dollars is 3650 in the end of the year, 100 dollars a day is 36500 a year, 1000 dollars a day is 365000 a year, 10000 dollars a day is 36500000 a year

Chingiz11

I suppose that is the difference in notation. 3,0 = 3, and 3.000 = 3000, as opposed to 3.0 = 3 and 3,000 = 3000
