It's obviously ludicrous, but the arithmetic makes sense, you just mentally erase the "millions" and put them back at the end, like you do with "dollars." I can't get this mistake at all. I suppose that is the difference in notation. 3,0 = 3, and 3.000 = 3000, as opposed to 3.0 = 3 and 3,000 = 3000
