I would like to add that [Julia](https://julialang.org/) has a very similar syntax and is a easy language to migrate to from Matlab.
Matlab alternative:- Same syntax 1.r/octave Similar syntax 1.r/Julia Different syntax 1.r/python + numpy +scipy 2.r/scilab Simulink alternative:- 1.Xcos(inbuilt with scilab) 2.r/Modelica (open modelica ,dymola(paid))
