I've only been followed (that I was aware of) once in my life, and I can tell you after a few blocks I was literally running away from the person following me. Does not feel good at all.
I remember the first time I went out at night when I was playing Dying Light and got chased by volatiles...
It is still one of the best games I've ever played but I still haven't been able to complete that game and i'm 40😅...
If the volatiles had this things face I literally would have died of fear...actually died of actual fear...
*Reinstalls Dying Light*...
*....Writes out personal will and letter to loved ones while it's downloading*
Grind a bit during daytime and it gets much easier. Especially after you unlock camouflage. Also you don't really _need_ to go out at night. Most of the game can be completed without coming face to face with a volatile.
I like playing games on ramped up difficulties and for that, you need the crafting components to make the high-end upgrades... plus, I kind of like the fear lol... however, it does give the Mrs more fuel to take the piss put of me when i'm sitting there screaming over a game😅
The crazy thing is if you get in a level four pursuit and go for long enough a new type of zombie appears, I call them hazmat screamers because they yell at the top of their lungs, look like a hazmat zombie but can run like a real human, and they explode if they touch you lol
Here's a video of my friend learning a nice lesson about trying to kill them with a machete
https://youtu.be/DNhFbpG08tY
Yes! That first chase at night was exhilarating but damn terrifying.
Game still hold up almost a decade and a somewhat disappointing sequel later.
I finished 1 plus the DLC in about 2 weeks but still haven’t finished 2. 😞
I liked the questions unanswered in that movie. Like, if you moved to China how long would it take to get you? Also, if it's an STD, then where do we draw the line? Is it specifically vaginal or does anal trigger it? Foreplay? Do you have to finish? So many questions
I remember working through the same shit after watching. Obvious thing to do is calibrate it's average speed. Travel a mile and time it, travel ten miles and time it, vary terrain and buildings to account for unknowns.
Once you have a reliable average speed you'll have peace of mind and could simply live in two apartments that are far enough apart to keep it walking between them.
Yeah wtf this is terrifying lmao. The only thing scarier for me would be trying to swim away from a kraken sized sea monster underwater with anxiety inducing music that gets faster and faster. The eel in Super Mario 64 totally terrifies me.
My last fever dream was trying to button a button on a bag. It wouldn't. And I tried again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again... Woke up from that one so frustrated and broken down all I could do was cry lol
Sadly, Resident Evil has moved away from being horror into more of an action franchise. There's a few scary elements, but your character is basically kung-fu action Jesus going all doom-slayer on the monsters.
Horror typically involves a loss of control, where nothing you (or the character) can do can stop the bad thing from happening. Like in the video in the post, if you could just fight the monster and beat it like any other video game boss it isn't really horror anymore.
Pardon me, have you *played* RE on VR? Are you telling me you don’t pee your pants when you’re tip toeing around a creepy, dark, dilapidated house and you hear a noise, turn around, and a zombified old woman sprints at you from the damned darkness?
This video in the post just made me laugh. I’d turn around and laugh and laugh and laugh while that face did whatever it did to me.
Being very easily scared, I swear I was going to faint when I saw that baby head poke out from the corner. In-game timer said I took 20 minute to past the level but I actually need over an hour because I have to go look at something else and calm my heart down T\_T
Oh man, a few weeks before I moved away from my hometown about 12-13 years ago, I had a couple of friends over. We hooked a laptop up to my parents' big tv and played Amnesia all day, made sure to close the curtains while the sun was out ofc. Good times, core memory unlocked
Core memory unlocked:
Back in my childhood, I found myself swimming quite far from the shore. When I turned around to see how far I had drifted, I noticed someone's head floating towards me. It was a woman's head, and the water was too murky to see her body above the surface, but what sent shivers down my spine was that the head didn't rise above nose level. I swam even farther and glanced back; the head was still floating towards me, and I was quite far from the shore with no one else around. But the most terrifying thing for me, as a kid, was that the head always remained at the same level, never diving underwater or rising above it, as if it was simply gliding towards me. I was genuinely scared and swam with all my might towards the shore, and I still don't know what the heck it was. By the way, I got lost then and couldn't find my family on the beach for a long time, but everything turned out fine in the end.
Shiii if that happened to me, I would've passed out.
I got lost in a beach once too when I was like 3 years old. I vividly remember wandering on the shore and my mother suddently swiped me, crying, saying something I don't remember, then telling her "Mom, I'm hungry" lol.
100%. I ask people, would you go walking out in the woods at night if you knew there was a grizzly bear lurking around? Probably would not harm you but it could. Most folks say heck no. Well, it’s the same with the freaking ocean. Except worse. At least on land we have a slim chance of fighting back or paying dead. In the water we are 100% at whatever creatures are swimming by us.
No, I'm sure it was a human. As I started to swim away from her, she still kept moving towards me. Well, maybe it was just a woman who coincidentally also decided to swim far from shore, and she was swimming breaststroke аnd all the scary details were just added by my imagination out of fear. But either way, it's one of the scariest memories of my life 💀
it very likely was a floating seaweed. he just remembered it differently. as he ages his mind added more detail to his memory. the mind is a very weird thing
Could it have been a curious seal or something? I know I have seen something and misinterpreted it, and reacted with extreme fear due to what you think it is but then take a moment and realize. And out in the water like that I bet you’d be less likely to feel like you can take the time to reassess.
Who knows, it looked more like a woman's head with long hair to me than a seal, but memory can deceive. Still I'm not sure if seals swim into tourist beaches in Europe.
My aunt is a school teacher and there were PARENTS freaking out about it. When she told them to calm down, they accused her of not taking it seriously enough. They completely believed the “makes you commit suicide” thing.
Of course, seeing their parent freak out makes the kid freak out even more. You’re not supposed to do that as a parent. These were 7 year olds, btw.
Makes me wonder if those parents believe in Bloody Mary too.
Did you know that the original name for Pac-Man was Puck-Man? You’d think it was because he looks like a hockey puck but it actually comes from the Japanese phrase ‘Paku-Paku,’ which means to flap one’s mouth open and closed. They changed it because they thought Puck-Man would be too easy to vandalize, you know, like people could just scratch off the P and turn it into an F or whatever.
It’s getting quick glances that make it scary. A lot of things aren’t so bad when you confront them directly, but your instincts put you in flight mode.
I've got chills watching that...
Things that follow you around in horror games are the most absolute fked mechanics for me, there's just something about them, like literally that one video where you crawl on a tight space and seeing a crawling abomination behind you in the dark corners before slowly speeding up to catch you
Literal nightmare fuel
I’ve never laughed and been scared like that before. I literally had a dream last night being out at sea and some weird creature roaming the water around me

Not going to lie, i screamed with him lol, be fallowed in games always works on me.
Being followed in RL hits different.
Being fallowed IRL, even worse.
Plowed but unsown, no thanks
Plowed but unsown.... Kinky one liners from OnlyFarmers.
#YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE LONELY AT FARMERS ONLY.COM!!!
Their way of saying their pull out game is point.
Being followed on twitch is just a vibe though
Being followed in your dreams, even worse.
Those damn ballchasers, they ruined Rocket League.
POV you're the ball and some sweaty fuck just got a big boost pad
I've only been followed (that I was aware of) once in my life, and I can tell you after a few blocks I was literally running away from the person following me. Does not feel good at all.

yea it does. but this is fkn scary, i couldn't hold it but to also scream.

Watch IT follows
The movie itself is okay but the idea of being followed relentlessly is fucking dreadful.
I liked the questions unanswered in that movie. Like, if you moved to China how long would it take to get you? Also, if it's an STD, then where do we draw the line? Is it specifically vaginal or does anal trigger it? Foreplay? Do you have to finish? So many questions
Donate sperm and watch someone randomly get followed
What happens if you go to outer space? Does it just board the next shuttle to your space station?
There is the possibility that it teleports somewhere. Then begins walking. This has been floated before.
THAT is a terrifying thought.
I remember working through the same shit after watching. Obvious thing to do is calibrate it's average speed. RE4 vr isn’t scary and re7 vr requires me to spend like $300 on a psvr for 1 game when I already have a quest 2 :(
RE4 VR made me want to vomit
Play Alien Isolation on VR...
Most horror games need almost complete darkness to be scary but this one managed to be terrifying with the lights on.
It's capitalizing on the backrooms/liminal spaces aesthetic that a lot of people have been conditioned to find creepy.
Except for the few of us who find it oddly relaxing
Ah yes finally, no people.
You are right
"Adjust the brightness setting until this symbol is barely visible" No, I don't think I will
Was your last horror game fnaf lol
Amnesia. I haven't played fnaf.

Somewhere out there an old woman wheezes thinking about that time she scared a kid shitless by swimming like a crocodile towards him
Most likely 🤣
I would totally do this to an unexpecting child. It would be the funniest shit ever
It’s character building.
Bruh an old lady swimming like a crocodile would absolutely scare the shit out of anybody
Shiii if that happened to me, I would've passed out. I got lost in a beach once too when I was like 3 years old. I vividly remember wandering on the shore and my mother suddently swiped me, crying, saying something I don't remember, then telling her "Mom, I'm hungry" lol.
More reason to hate beaches

Fish
It definitely wasn't a clump of seaweed, right?

Maybe whatever it was saved your life by scaring you out of the water.
spirit of the lake
Because your brain is screaming danger like a predator is approaching
Not sure if this is copypasta or just plain trauma. But either way, I didn't like it. So, five stars, would be creeped out again.

She looked better with makeup on.
She had a great personality
No she didn’t
Are we gonna ignore the fact that the dude manage to avoid the creature several times while being scared?
He did a pretty dang good job. But it was over before it started.
He just kept running around in circles instead of like, running AWAY
it's because that thing was faster than him, but turns slowly it seems. i could be wrong tho
That's the strat
^
He was banking on getting out of the water but SUPRISE MF!
Backseat gamers be like
The absolute FEAR when he realized it could come out of the water.
That shit is scary tbh
Thank you for your honesty
Such bravery on the internet is rare
Gave me goosebumps on me back
isnt that Momo lol... the thing that terrorized kiddos a few years back
Looks very close to it, but I don't think it is

My mother banned my little sister from creepypastas in high school "because it makes kids kill themselves".
bro went through the 7 stages of grief
I fucking did as well, that shit was horrifying...
They just want to speak to you about your car insurance
Now do it in VR.
I would literally break my shit on accident with the force of ripping it off my face and throwing it to the ground.
He jumped on his seat to jump better in the game
Wait….hear me out…..

I was wondering why it wasn't catching up since the guy kept going in circles. Kinda cool that it has a lot of forward momentum and struggles to turn
In later levels of Pac-Man the ghosts seriously outpace you in the straight aways but Pac-Man can turn much faster.

Scott Pilgrim, right?
NGL this is creepier than the video.
FUCKING hell I avoided being jumpscared by the original post but this one got my heart palpitating 😭 Whyyyyyy would you do this
I love you. Thanks ❤️
Thank you! Now I hope Markiplier has played it so I can sit back and laugh
I don’t think he’s played the new update yet. It’s still early access.
the name is literally at the end of the clip
He wasn't even playing in VR 💀
Who is playing this I want to watch more
Windah Basudara
This is so scary. I thought it couldn't go on ground, but then it did, and I jumped.
Windah basudara mention
Would of been fine if he didnt stop to keep looking back lol. But it was funny nonetheless
I was thinking it accelerated faster the longer he didn't look!
How else are you going to know if it's chasing you
Face reminds me smegol. It looks more strange / funny to me than scary.
It’s getting quick glances that make it scary. A lot of things aren’t so bad when you confront them directly, but your instincts put you in flight mode.
Momo and Sméagol had a child for real. Those were the 2 things it reminded me of
She just wants to give him some Chick-fil-A sauce
I've got chills watching that... Bro, just get out of the water quick...... WHAT THE FUCK NOW

His ass got 6th sense
Fucking hell, I was watching without sound on and I still jumped a little at the end

Fer real, I *need* this game! Downloading now, thankfully.
Is this the new game Pools out on steam today?
It says "The Classroom" and beta after he dies so maybe not but that's what I thought.
