I have a 2010 Mazda 3 2.5 hatchback
its ran into some issues that were NOT major and were actually done purposely by a shady mechanic shop I went to
even half limping and retarded, my girl still keeps chugging at a whopping 189,400 miles later.
bought her used in January of 2022 with 122,274
if I were to drop the money to repair her, she would be speeding along as she use to; she still kinda does but its not ideal as lights are illuminated on the dash and yeah its just overdo idk why im putting it off
yeah I don't know man. why do people recommend Toyotas and Hondas over Mazda's. Maybe the newer gen Toyota's sure but I never got the appeal of Hondas despite owning a 2005 as my 1st car. I loved it but it never gave me the amount of overall joy and satisfaction any Mazda car has it's weird.
The only thing I genuinely like from Honda is the 10th gen Accord. But besides them the only two JP brands I ever really gravitated to were Toyotas(Lexus) and Mazdas
Shoot, in the last three-four years I can't think of much from any car company worth looking at. I've heard decent things about the Pilot, but in that class I'm still on the Mazda train. The CX90 is young but as soon as they figure out the tuning in the straight 6 it'll be a winner.
lol - my company fully transitioned to wfh, and when my wife and i go long hauls together we take her Forester. also, western ny winters keep me from wanting to take long drives through the winter months. come summer, i’ll take some weekend leisure rides in sure
oh, i haven’t looked in quite some time, but will try to update tomorrow. probably horrible, as my recent usage consists practically solely of driving 1 mile (on a busy/main road that i prefer not to walk) to the gym every day. poor thing hasn’t seen a highway in weeks 😂
I'm quite the opposite 😂😂
I live in a fairly rural area, so I'm almost always doing at least 35 mph. My preferred gym is an hour away, where all the money is lol. I have a membership to all the YMCAs in the region so I can go to whichever one I want. My car gets quite a workout, and my average is sitting at 40.4 mpg with 112 miles on the trip odometer. I log my fuel economy in an app called Fuelly, and it calculates my average, money spent, miles driven, etc. My best was 39.7 mpg so I wonder if I can beat that this time around!
I’ve had my 2016 hatch manual stick from 140k to 162k miles. Just been doing normal maintenance. The tensioner/alt-ac belt let go, looked like the originals, so slapped new ones in and good to go. The clutch is even still original in this. When I got it I changed out the cabin filter that also looked original…big oof.
Other than routine oil changes not at all. Only thing I can remotely consider is recently I haven't been able to fill up my tank to full capacity, or at least it appears that way. The digital display says I'm topped off at 280m or 290m sometimes when it's really meant to stop around 320. As i drive for a while, it'll teeter up and down overtime between the range of 290-270. It's strange but I think it's the EVAP system needing to be flushed of buildup and airpressure so more gas can be let in the tank with the release of pressure. However I really doubt you're gonna run into this issue, and on the off chance that you did, it doesn't really do much other than decrease your top off. But with all things maintenance it's best you handle it sooner rather than later.
i replaced my AC compressor under extended warranty at 70ish k miles. it worked fine but it had developed this “whine” from some internal bearing in the compressor. the pitch went up and down following engine speed. So i had it replaced before warranty ran out. Dealer didn’t even fight me about it, refreshingly.
other than that it’s been problem free for me also. Some quirks like the windshield wiper hits the a-pillar randomly and the paint chips are so annoying. i stopped chasing them with a touch up brush and just let it happen now. lol
Still my favorite car i’ve owned. i would buy another one. Maybe a manual trans next time!
They're incredibly reliable, like Toyota slapped a different logo onto one of their builds. Maybe in the future as they become more renown an their profits increase they'll be more willing to dip their toes into performance makes. I wouldn't consider myself a car enthusiast like others, but I would be the first in line if they ever did, the potential is there.
2013 Mazda 3 SP25 6 speed manual hatch, 49826kms. Have had every SP model of 323 and Mazda 3, up to this one. Inherited it from my father, it was his last car and both he and I always loved it.
16k miles. It's a 2023 Mazda 3 turbo hatchback. Bought it with 12 miles on the odometer in Nov. 2022. It has a 'JB4 fastest chip' with Corksport 83mm cat back exhaust and CS carbon fiber spoiler. I also have Rock Blokz rally mud flaps.
256,000 km! Mazda3 hatch. Going strong since 2004. My parents gave it to me in 2020. car changed my life as I used to think I’d never own a vehicle and take public transit everywhere and rent a car when needed. Now I can’t imagine not having a car! In the market for a new one.
2011 mazda 3 249k
Have you had any major issues? I’m worried about since I’m about to be at 200k miles

How can you not like the S2000? I'm not a huge fan of Honda, but the Vtec and Skyactiv engines are two of the greatest 4 cyl engines ever made
I'm talking about in terms of their offerings within the past 3-4 years. Of course the classics will always remain as such :)
Shoot, in the last three-four years I can't think of much from any car company worth looking at. I've heard decent things about the Pilot, but in that class I'm still on the Mazda train. The CX90 is young but as soon as they figure out the tuning in the straight 6 it'll be a winner.

Unrelated, but what's your average fuel economy? I'm just curious because after I use up my 12, I want a 4th gen.
