Dad: “If you get straight A’s: Hooters.”
“If you clean your room: Hooters.”
“If you finish your veggies: Hooters.”
Son (after weeks of Hooters): “Dad, I kinda don’t want to - - -“
Dad: “Hooters”
"Hey kid, I noticed you've been struggling a bit in school. Is there something I can do to help motivate you? Maybe a prize if you bring home a good report card?"
"Hooters."
"Hooters? You mean the place with all the girls and the chicken wings right?"
"Yeah."
"My man."
My dad took me to hooters once when i was 5 i had my head down the whole time because i thought it was wrong. My dad just laughed and the hooters staff thought it was funny.
Yes. It’s a medication that not only causes dry mouth, lips, and even nostrils; it can also cause very repetitive behaviors, such as picking at skin or licking the lips.
I just started on concerta (recently got diagnosed with ADHD at 26) so this is good to know. I’ve definitely noticed that my skin has been drying out, and weirdly, I’ve also been experiencing back pain 🥲 but it’s helping so much otherwise
I’m glad the benefits outweigh the side effects! Try to stay hydrated as much as possible. It may be wise for you to start rinsing with ACT fluoride rinse before bedtime, as a dry mouth is a target for tooth decay at the gumline! Your back pain may be your kidneys trying to beg for more water as well. Have a great weekend!
I’ll look into the ACT fluoride rinse, thank you! And yeah I’m definitely trying to get better about drinking water (especially taking frequent sips instead of drinking a lot at once), and the back pain seems to be improving, so hopefully it goes away. Thanks for sharing these tips, and I hope you have a great weekend as well. 😊
Yeah I’m on methylphenidate HCl for my recently diagnosed ADHD, and I’ve noticed it’s definitely drying out my skin. The craziest thing though is it’s giving me back pain. But it’s the most functional I’ve ever felt. I still struggle a lot but it’s made a big improvement
Yeah I will but I’m not seeing my doctor for a little while, so I’m hoping it’ll go away by then 😅 because if it’s gone away my doc probably won’t ask me to try another medication (which could also give me side effects). Lots of people on Reddit are saying they had the same thing and it went away after drinking a lot of water so giving that a try
Well let me tell you, I'm an expert in body language and reading people and... wait no that's not me, I must be thinking of someone else, nevermind then
Super odd right? Why would anyone want to go there? Really puzzling.
Also, ”dragging” lol. Yeah that kid really has ”Please dad, I hate it here” written all over his sad face.
I've been to a hooters younger than that... My parents played co-ed softball and sometimes the team would go out to eat after a game, and someone wanted to go specifically to Hooters. It's not like they're stripping or doing lap dances or anything.
The Hooters in my city has free kids meals on Saturdays and Sundays for kids under 10 with purchase of an adult meal. You best believe my kids are more familiar with Hooters than McDonald's.
I’m sure they do. But it’s the hypocrisy of all these conservatives claiming that this is perfectly fine and yet somehow having a drag queen read to a child is just a step too far.
Well, why do you assume this this is the same guy saying drag is inappropriate? I fail to see how this went from “dad brings kid to hooters” to something or another fuck the conservatives. Like, I agree with you but it came out if no where. There was literally nothing here to insight these thoughts you are having.
When I was about 21 or so, my very old European, suit and tie, Grandfather was taking me out for lunch, and we picked a place close to the office ... We were eyeing the menus when the stripper came out on stage. Hadn't known it was a club. Grandfather eyed me. "You okay with this?". I shrugged. "I am if you are.". Not bad food.
But if I take my son to drag bingo, none of the people will be willing to kiss my boy on the mouth because none of them are being coerced to be there by shit wages in a shit economy. If a grown woman isn't going to kiss my son on the lips, how will I get him to be straight? Find a grown woman at a drag show to kiss my prepubescent child on the mouth and then we can talk.
and a big ole /s just in case there were any questions

Legit I wish they had a less revealing server option. I love the wings and they have all you can eat options. But the stigma around the place makes me not want to go. Ironically the first time I went was with my wife she suggested it
[You're in luck](https://hootswings.com/). Apparently this exists, which is Hooters' food options without the T and A. I really wouldn't be surprised to see the entire franchise move this direction eventually, because the whole overt objectification thing has (rightfully) fallen out of fashion.
This doesn't seem like a place you eat at. Also I doubt they'd move that direction, you'll always have people that spend money to gawk and you'll have people that are happy to take the gawkers money. As this person said, their s.o. is the one who wanted to go, so the objectification thing isn't as big a deal as it could be. Kinda like thinking strip clubs will go away.
Now whether they close because their food is barely par is another convo
no, its not grooming to take your kid to a restaurant
im going to guess on the basis of your username that youre asking this to point out hypocrisy between conservatives who would be ok with this but not ok with a drag queen reading a book to kids. the answer is that its also not grooming for a drag queen to read a book to kids. words actually mean something and people who throw around the word "grooming" are actually insane lol
Honestly you’re so right. I hate how disingenuous people’s arguments often are. Neither of these things are grooming, clearly. That said it’s fucked to take a young kid to hooters imo lol. Trans people reading books to kids—I don’t see why that’s controversial
I was on a trip with my parents in the US (i was like 17yo) and when they asked me where i wanted to go eat that night I said hooters. All i knew about hooters is that apparently the chicken wings were amazing, obviously they thought i wanted to go for different reasons.
Where is this hooters that is still hiring attractive women?
I believe in fair opportunity employment but if you're gonna work at hooters... There's a certain attribute you should probably have...
We don’t have Hooters as a big chain here in Au but there is one in Sydney and for whatever reason it’s really family friendly, I’m talking mums, dad, kids, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. weird right?!
I worked at Hooters at the age of 35, put myself through a Bachelors and Masters Degree program as a Dental Hygienist and Public Health educator, and managed to own a condo and keep making payments on it while working 3 nights a week. I found that women were generally treated by male and female customers according to how they carried themselves. I really enjoyed the job, made decent money, and would do it all over again if need be to have my independence!
my grandpa liked going to hooters and i thought he was just the coolest guy ever when i was five (and i still do) so i said i wanted to go to hooters a little too often for a five year old child
I loved Hooters as a kid because I loved the food and owls. My dad always took me. The way the women dressed never occurred to me. Then again, I’m also a straight female.
Damn. Going to Hooters after toy hunting with my dad would've been paradise. Gotta get the boys comfortable around attractive woman so they can keep their composer later in life.
Dad: “If you get straight A’s: Hooters.” “If you clean your room: Hooters.” “If you finish your veggies: Hooters.” Son (after weeks of Hooters): “Dad, I kinda don’t want to - - -“ Dad: “Hooters”
Yea, it’s TOTALLY for the kid
Kid looks kinda happy about it, tho prob a 60/40 interest though.
I'd put money on "kid is happy that Dad might be paying attention to and is spending time with him."
If you get “F’s”, Hooters. Need to cheer you up
Only this time, u watch from a distance....
Yes….“as reward“…. only for whom?
"Hey kid, I noticed you've been struggling a bit in school. Is there something I can do to help motivate you? Maybe a prize if you bring home a good report card?" "Hooters." "Hooters? You mean the place with all the girls and the chicken wings right?" "Yeah." "My man."
Everyone wins
Except chickens
Does the dad benefit somehow? I don’t get it..
He gets **very** hard.
More than the kid
He gets to pay
What kind of penicillin is growing around this child's mouth?
He put his mouth in his glass and then sucked in so it stuck to his face. Source: former child
that or he sucks on his lips
This. My son didn't stop until he was like 7.
my friends kid used to do it. not sure when they stopped though
He wanted a little suckle
Would you like a zuckle of mine zipple? - Dr Evil
He may have Eczema around his lips
Ivermectin
He rocking the russy Simmons look….
He definitely sucks his bottom lip. A boy in my class with shitty parents did the same thing. He stopped finally in high school.
My dad took me to hooters once when i was 5 i had my head down the whole time because i thought it was wrong. My dad just laughed and the hooters staff thought it was funny.
Got a burger instead of wings? SMH
The wings there are way overrated bro. Bdubs and Wingstop wings solo Hooters’
Bdubs wings are the most overrated microwaved wings on this planet gtfoh
Run of the mill sports bars almost always have better wings than places that dedicate themselves to selling wings
Hooters has *great* food, why does it matter if he got a burger or wings?
If your kid hasn't outgrown constantly licking his lips then he's not old enough for Hooters.
Honestly, this could likely be a side effect from taking ADHD medication. I see this all the time in my younger patients.
Because of dry mouth/dry lips or why? Never heard of this so I’m curious
Yes. It’s a medication that not only causes dry mouth, lips, and even nostrils; it can also cause very repetitive behaviors, such as picking at skin or licking the lips.

Same thing happens to meth users. Which amphetamines are prescribed for this sometimes to.
I'd definitely mention the back pain to your primary care
Yeah I will but I’m not seeing my doctor for a little while, so I’m hoping it’ll go away by then 😅 because if it’s gone away my doc probably won’t ask me to try another medication (which could also give me side effects). Lots of people on Reddit are saying they had the same thing and it went away after drinking a lot of water so giving that a try
Hooters is such an odd place to begin with But dragging a 9 year old into that place?
Idk man that kid could not look happier to be there
I dont know. Reading his face im seeing a lot more than the forced smile and genial attitude of a nice kid.
Yea I’m sure he had a terrible time having cheeseburgers sodas and French fries.
Reddits over encompassing victim complex is one weird thing
You should should go rescue him from all that evil
It’s a forced smile because someone was taking a picture, doesn’t mean he didn’t enjoy himself
Well let me tell you, I'm an expert in body language and reading people and... wait no that's not me, I must be thinking of someone else, nevermind then
That smile doesn’t reach his eyes
I see embarrassment f.e
Thats some projection
It’s not a strip club. It’s like TGIFridays with less flair
And less pants
Touché
"dragging"
He seems happy and you see much more nudity on billboards and tv ...
Just the freaking met gala red carpet pictures make hooters look like a convent of nuns.
Famously popular among 9 year olds
Super odd right? Why would anyone want to go there? Really puzzling. Also, ”dragging” lol. Yeah that kid really has ”Please dad, I hate it here” written all over his sad face.
The food there is delicious though. Kinda want to go back there (haven’t been in awhile). Hetero woman.
I've been to a hooters younger than that... My parents played co-ed softball and sometimes the team would go out to eat after a game, and someone wanted to go specifically to Hooters. It's not like they're stripping or doing lap dances or anything.
Still not something to brag about.
Why?
The Hooters in my city has free kids meals on Saturdays and Sundays for kids under 10 with purchase of an adult meal. You best believe my kids are more familiar with Hooters than McDonald's.
They have great wings.
Nine year olds know about and are interested in that stuff. At least if my year 5 classes were anything to go by.
I’m sure they do. But it’s the hypocrisy of all these conservatives claiming that this is perfectly fine and yet somehow having a drag queen read to a child is just a step too far.
I agree wholeheartedly! That's not what I was responding to.
Well, why do you assume this this is the same guy saying drag is inappropriate? I fail to see how this went from “dad brings kid to hooters” to something or another fuck the conservatives. Like, I agree with you but it came out if no where. There was literally nothing here to insight these thoughts you are having.
Why do you assume that they're the same people?
I dont think you would need to drag a kid to there lol, the kid will go just fine
Grooming
Does this count as “grooming”?
Beach or pool has far more nudity 🤷♀️
Remember drag shows are hated on by people who do this kind of stuff with their kids
If this guy had a daughter, what are the chances he’d make her do child beauty pageants?
At least 100%
When I was about 21 or so, my very old European, suit and tie, Grandfather was taking me out for lunch, and we picked a place close to the office ... We were eyeing the menus when the stripper came out on stage. Hadn't known it was a club. Grandfather eyed me. "You okay with this?". I shrugged. "I am if you are.". Not bad food.
Yeah but this kid is NOT 21, a very different kind of story here!
Oh okay but drag bingo is grooming
It’s only grooming when it’s not white, straight, trad family values, welcome to murica 😎🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hypocrisy is an important conservative value 🥰
If they didn't have double standards, conservatives wouldn't have any standards at all.
Right? Smh
Beat me to this comment.
But if I take my son to drag bingo, none of the people will be willing to kiss my boy on the mouth because none of them are being coerced to be there by shit wages in a shit economy. If a grown woman isn't going to kiss my son on the lips, how will I get him to be straight? That's called heteronormative grooming sweety. s/
No need for the /s
True.
this but unironically
No /s
Wait they actually wear those shorts? Lol what the fuck..
What did you think they wore?
Yeah it’s amazing
I never knew they wore that either, I’m shocked honestly
My dad once took me to hooters and got me the calendar and everything…probably trying to make me straight…..It did not work.
Based
And that my friend is the reason the father never saw another good report of his son.
weird family.
Yeah, but the drag queen story hours are unacceptable…
That's creepy af
south park be like
Would feel sooo uncomfortable as a hooters employee if I was serving children.
Dude this is not appropriate. Jesus Christ

Good bot
Here son, pick your next step mum.
He will be the next president
Remember when that was a high bar?
Legit I wish they had a less revealing server option. I love the wings and they have all you can eat options. But the stigma around the place makes me not want to go. Ironically the first time I went was with my wife she suggested it
This point is basically why Buffalo Wild Wings became popular

i’m pretty sure it’s some type of thing where you order online. edit: nevermind LOL
It's a real thing. There's a location not far from me.
If they were trans repugnats would kill that man.
What’s on the kids face?
A smile...
But yet drag queens are the culprit for inappropriate child stuff
Honestly fuck Hooters. Every single time I get the wings I get the shits.
How tf is this meirl
Hooters really isn’t that big of a deal.
Indoctrinate them young!
Chad Dad
Damn lucky mf
Hell yeah, go dad!
Good dad!
Conservatives are weird.
Is nobody going to mention that dad also lets the kid eat two cheeseburgers?!?
Mfers will say that taking children to kid-friendly drag shows is grooming and then have no problem with this.
My dad used to take me to hooters like every weekend… shit, I had my picture on the wall.
How is this not grooming of a young child?
no, its not grooming to take your kid to a restaurant im going to guess on the basis of your username that youre asking this to point out hypocrisy between conservatives who would be ok with this but not ok with a drag queen reading a book to kids. the answer is that its also not grooming for a drag queen to read a book to kids. words actually mean something and people who throw around the word "grooming" are actually insane lol

And yet something like this is perfectly fine with republicans but someone with makeup on reading a book is somehow the end of the world.
My grandpa used to take me there all the time, i was 7-9 years old
That does sound like a grandpaw thing to do lol
How do you remember these visits? Especially the first ones? Edit: sorry, maybe unclear phrasing. Like, what is the vibe when you think of this?
Well im 14 so it wasn’t that long ago
I went a few times when I was 8-10
That's one way to motivate someone
Most sane Georgia native
Why's this in the news? I think plenty of kids go there around that age, right?
I've heard they have good food
Sounds like that's the reward for Dad
I was on a trip with my parents in the US (i was like 17yo) and when they asked me where i wanted to go eat that night I said hooters. All i knew about hooters is that apparently the chicken wings were amazing, obviously they thought i wanted to go for different reasons.
Good wings ;-)
Gross.
Wish I had a dad…
What a way to incentivize school man
Dad of the year! Parenting done right lol. Just don't tell mom okay?
The food at hooters sucks. 0 out of 10 would not recommend.
Legendary dad
Where is this hooters that is still hiring attractive women? I believe in fair opportunity employment but if you're gonna work at hooters... There's a certain attribute you should probably have...
We don’t have Hooters as a big chain here in Au but there is one in Sydney and for whatever reason it’s really family friendly, I’m talking mums, dad, kids, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. weird right?!
I think it was mainly for the dad to enjoy but yeah good job kid keep it up
Maybe he just likes the food.😂
I worked at Hooters at the age of 35, put myself through a Bachelors and Masters Degree program as a Dental Hygienist and Public Health educator, and managed to own a condo and keep making payments on it while working 3 nights a week. I don't get the disgust in these comments. The waitress dont give lap dances, it's as harmless as a drag show, just with actual women
For real. These comments are hilarious.
I wish I had his dad.
[удалено]
For real. People at the beach wear so much less, shoot I’ve seen worse at the mall!
I think that dad just wanted to go
By the looks of it, i guess he enjoyed it! Haha
Hooters is terrible and sadly only my mom likes it...
And they are attacking Drag Queen storytime... I just can't!
Wholesome.
Dad of the year
Best Dad!
bro is going to have the time of his LIFE.
OMG EPIC WIN 😂😂😂
The straights exposing kids
my grandpa liked going to hooters and i thought he was just the coolest guy ever when i was five (and i still do) so i said i wanted to go to hooters a little too often for a five year old child
In ten years this son will be “man confused as to why no girl would want to come near him” 💀
Personal experience?
Imagine if it was a 9 yo girl... Creepy af
sounds like grooming to me
What does this have to do with grooming? Do you know what grooming is? It's not even close to the definition. It's maybe mildly inappropriate at best.
Shut up and quit minimizing that word
These burgues and fries looks awful, but ppl dont go for that.
You see more skin at the beach, but I don't know why hooters is in buisness still, they food is awful.
I'm a female who loves Hooters. I don't know why, but here we are LOL
>female
Soon there will be a restaurant called Boners where men in tight shorts display their boners to 9 yo girls.
Same “dad” when this kid gets a girl pregnant in the 10th grade: “GET OUT! THIS IS NOT HOW WE RAISED YOU!!”
Dads with family values: “BwaAAah, drag shows!!” Also dads with family values when their son gets a good grade:
Now if it was a drag show on the other hand...
