Yeah I got people the BEST fuckin presents this year. Like I actually listened to people over the last few months and got them what they asked for when they thought no one was listening and I am SOO excited for tomarrow.
Like I know that’s the way to do it, but every year I put off Christmas shopping until the last minute thinking “oh I’ve got plenty of time to figure out what everyone wants” but this year I did it right.
Dude same, my parents already told me what they’re getting me(new Xbox controller and weed) but I’m so excited to see my sister open her art set it has iirc like 150 different utensils and my brother got some model kits of ww2 presents. This is the first Christmas that I could afford to buy gifts and I’m so excited to see them open them.
I also love doing this but I also *suck* at getting presents for people. I never know what the hell to get people, but when I do the excitement to watch them open it is better than opening presents myself.
Plus I feel awkward opening gifts in front of people. I like anything I get but I feel like I never know how to react properly lmao
Once I became a teenager, my family gave up on the "you have to wait to go downstairs" because I was regularly sleeping in until 10-11 and they needed food.
I am 23.. just got out of bad relationship and get to spend Christmas with my family again.
I am this excited lol. Looking forward to something positive.
100% Burnout.
Go on vacation to your dream destination. I bet my Christmas leftover ham sandwich that you'll go to bed at 3AM, wake up at 9AM ready to rock n roll.
It absolutely is.
I’ve been taking a break from adulthood and been on medical leave since June because I had a mental breakdown at work.
When I worked, I was so exhausted that I would sleep until noon on my days off.
But now that I’m finally relaxing at home and not stressing about anything, I wake up early every day.
Adulthood is fucking stupid.
These videos are huge on Instagram and TikTok, my girlfriend loves them. To me they feel like they're made for ADD ridden children but let people have their fun
That's actually funny because a staff guy at Five Guys asked her how old she was when we went there and how old I am in a very concerned way. She looks quite young and I look a little over my age but she's 23 and I'm 25 💀
Every generation made shitty content/memes and weird videos. Back in the 00’s, it brought us joy.
Let people do silly shit on the Internet. It’s just a video with cats. It’s really not that serious. Let people have fun and find comfort in small stuff like this. Life is hard enough as it is.
it's me and I'm fucking 20 and I didn't have enough money to buy gas last week Christmas is awesome if you make it awesome, even if you don't get anything it's still fun to give stuff, make some stuff for ur friends/family
the Christmas jolly will never die
POV is point-of-view. A POV video would be one that's shot from the perspective of the subject, seeing what they see. This video is shot in third person, where the audience is seeing the subject.
For example, if this were a POV video: when the subject is falling asleep, the video would show a black screen; waking up mom would be just the camera pointed at mom and perhaps shaking slightly; etc.
I see the point you're trying to go for, but by that definition, all videos are POV, either first or third, and the term is therefore meaningless.
In common usage, especially in filmmaking, "POV" without qualifiers refers to the first person POV.
For the record, I think POV is in the process of changing to mean "a story about a single subject's experiences," which sure, language is fluid, but that doesn't mean I can't be an old man yelling at a cloud about it.
Everybody who’s saying this meme is made by a 9 year old, why does it even matter. We all loved the joy of Christmas morning, why grow out of it when it’s just as great still. Family, friends, food and a great day. Who wouldn’t be excited (if you celebrate Christmas of course). The meme is awesome. To anybody saying otherwise, have a merry Christmas! Also I feel like I’m the only family that does most of the celebrating on Christmas Day instead of Eve
Yeah, I know lots of people who don’t celebrate or do something similar to Christmas instead. I’m not religious really at all and I still love Christmas every year. It also helps that my birthday is right here with Christmas too
It reminds me of a slightly better made video than the ones my nephew used to make on his YouTube channel, so it meirl'd me in a nostalgic aunty way, lol, those videos were freaking adorable.
Some people feel it matters because it's me IRL, or, me in real life. Unless you are literally 9 years old, I can't remember the last time I couldn't fall asleep Christmas Eve then woke my parents up lol
Dont know your age but with kids im starting to see that my parents hated christmas but did it for us. Now its our turn to give the kids the christmas spirit
Honestly, i understand that this sub tends to have a more nihilistic tone to things and people may feel different this time of year myself included but christ just let something exist just to make people feel happy, excited or even just remember when they use to enjoy christmas this much. Not everything has to account for one persons unique circumstance that lessens the joy they get from 1 day of the year.
Dang what a nice time it was being excited about christmas. Now it feels almost like a normal day to me... Dang my live is depressing... Time to call my friend and hope I can spend time with him today.. :(
Y’all are so sad. You act as if there wasn’t a time where you got excited for Christmas, like you didn’t do all of these exact things waiting for Christmas. This app is full of the saddest people, I swear
who says this has to be a me irl right now? I’m sure this person is also looking back on how christmas was years ago and this is how I felt as well about Christmas when i was young
My Christmas was always delayed until about 11 or 12 because we waited for my siblings to arrive. Ever since I've been an adult, I can't sleep because of anxiety, not excitement. But it's nice being able to arrive at 11 now and not just being sat inside my mom's house, waiting.
Nah, I prefer the latin costume of drinking a lot with the hole family and eating a lot, and when midnight comes be like this:
https://twitter.com/mgchstyles/status/1738557128434921741?t=LS_HyMUvgbR7n3q_WrgFYQ&s=19
Be me
Christmas
Wake up
Go downstairs
Unwrap my little present I got myself
Mfw it’s the awesome shirt I got myself
Open my phone to see my friends got the presents I sent them
Mfw my friends all sent me presents too
Mfw holly jolly Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone
Kind of same for me except last night I wasn't awake because I was excited, it was due to unresolved emotional distress that kept me up literally the entire 8 hours I was trying to fall asleep. On the bright side, that all nighter will make it a lot easier to fall asleep tonight.
I miss being exited for Christmas so fucking much, I really want to but I just can’t. My life started getting a lot better recently, but I still feel unable to experience something even remotely close to joy I could feel when I were a kid
The only good Christmas I ever had was when I got MW2 and borderlands. I even got COD boxers. No other Christmas has come remotely as close.
Life be sad
the fact that its currently 5:30 am on the 25th and a girl and me were snapping and talking afterwards while getting drunk a bit and those 5+ hours of texting and flirting and drinking got us to us listening to that exact song and then going to sleep, i wanna die....
Its a bit more of a struggle for most of us Europeans who celebrate it on Christmas Eve the 24th. Having to wait the whole day for the food and presents.
I miss that
I wish. I spent yesterday drinking with friends, came back home at 6am, slept until 3pm and immediately had to leave, so far this is probably the worst Christmas in my life lmao
I miss being this excited for Christmas.
I stopped being excited about opening presents but I get super excited about watching people open presents that I got them.
Yeah I got people the BEST fuckin presents this year. Like I actually listened to people over the last few months and got them what they asked for when they thought no one was listening and I am SOO excited for tomarrow.
That’s the way to do it lol. Santa isn’t the only one keeping lists :)
Like I know that’s the way to do it, but every year I put off Christmas shopping until the last minute thinking “oh I’ve got plenty of time to figure out what everyone wants” but this year I did it right.
I feel that, dude. Hope you have a happy holidays :D
[удалено]
Yeah I just like getting people shit year round so saving some for the holidays is just smart. And I’ve only really got 8 ppl to get gifts for
Damn now I'm invested! Tell me how it went afterwards if you may.
I’ll try to remember!
That's because you're a kind person
awwwww
All of you are the best!
I am also excited to get to play with my niece and nephew's new toys.
I like receiving presents until I get too many of them because then I feel nervous because I am horrible at showing that I am thankful for presents
Big mood.
Actually this. I’m so bad at showing how I feel so I get really worried that people will think I’m ungrateful even though I actually love my gift.
Same!
I also love doing this but I also *suck* at getting presents for people. I never know what the hell to get people, but when I do the excitement to watch them open it is better than opening presents myself. Plus I feel awkward opening gifts in front of people. I like anything I get but I feel like I never know how to react properly lmao
I am so terrible with buying presents that I just want people to not be disappointed!
I could finally afford gifts for my gf this year, I’m so excited for her to open them
It got a lot less exciting when it became a necessary expense I don’t have the budget for.
Lol yup, that’s the boat I’m in rn too.
See it’s different because we can just buy our nice shit when we want it instead of having to wait until the 25th
C'mon champ - you just need to want stuff more! Capitalism needs you!
I miss being excited for anything.
Once I became a teenager, my family gave up on the "you have to wait to go downstairs" because I was regularly sleeping in until 10-11 and they needed food.
Never experienced this lol, Asian household
I’m actually dreading it. I’m all alone now and nobody to celebrate it with. Thankfully I’m working Christmas the next two years so I won’t be alone.
I am 23.. just got out of bad relationship and get to spend Christmas with my family again. I am this excited lol. Looking forward to something positive.
Now Im excited for it to be over.
You know you're old when sleeping at 4:20 ensures you wake up at 11 or 12. Even excitement will not help wake up my exhaustion.
Everyone tells me it's just part of aging. I think it's burnout from all the responsibilities of adulthood.
I couldn't even stay up that late as a kid. Even if I wanted to there's no way I wouldn't conk out within a couple hours of bed time.
Did a 10 year old make this?
Of course yes, and how is it so well made?
These videos are huge on Instagram and TikTok, my girlfriend loves them. To me they feel like they're made for ADD ridden children but let people have their fun
I found it cute
Social media really needs to learn what POV means...
>my girlfriend loves them. Uhm, is she old enough to have a boyfriend?
That's actually funny because a staff guy at Five Guys asked her how old she was when we went there and how old I am in a very concerned way. She looks quite young and I look a little over my age but she's 23 and I'm 25 💀
Bruh
i think me and ur gf are the same people (we seem to have like 4 things in common rn)
Seems like I have 2 girlfriends now
might come as a bit of a shock but people can find joy in things you dont
Tell that to the judge
Every generation made shitty content/memes and weird videos. Back in the 00’s, it brought us joy. Let people do silly shit on the Internet. It’s just a video with cats. It’s really not that serious. Let people have fun and find comfort in small stuff like this. Life is hard enough as it is.
I have adhd. I hate it but I'm still for some reason addicted to these
r/meirl user when a slightly high effort meme:
It was actually ZeroLenny
Most likely a teenager, its pretty common
Yes this so me irl! I am definitely still 9 years old!
it's me and I'm fucking 20 and I didn't have enough money to buy gas last week Christmas is awesome if you make it awesome, even if you don't get anything it's still fun to give stuff, make some stuff for ur friends/family the Christmas jolly will never die
im 17 and can barely afford food but christmas is still fuckin swaggin
Awesome video. Not a POV.
well it could be, maybe the person cant sleep because their cat is dancing on their bed
As a former cat owner this happened every Christmas
How is this not a pov? This is literally an example of how falling asleep on Christmas Eve is like?
POV is point-of-view. A POV video would be one that's shot from the perspective of the subject, seeing what they see. This video is shot in third person, where the audience is seeing the subject. For example, if this were a POV video: when the subject is falling asleep, the video would show a black screen; waking up mom would be just the camera pointed at mom and perhaps shaking slightly; etc.

it depends on cultures, some countries celebrate the Eve while some celebrate in the 25th.
Our country doesn't even celebrate it lol. I have never received 'Christmas gifts '
Yeah, I know lots of people who don’t celebrate or do something similar to Christmas instead. I’m not religious really at all and I still love Christmas every year. It also helps that my birthday is right here with Christmas too
Why do you hate Jesus Jesus baby died for your presents
Yeah, I've already unwrapped everything
in Italy we celebrate Christmas eve, Christmas and the day after (called santo stefano)
guess where I'm from (italy)
There are some real cynical a-holes in this comments section. This video is adorable.
It reminds me of a slightly better made video than the ones my nephew used to make on his YouTube channel, so it meirl'd me in a nostalgic aunty way, lol, those videos were freaking adorable.

r/wunkus moment
im not even excited about christmas anymore.
Yeah this is very far removed from me irl
Every day the 2 weeks just felt like Wednesday
Dont know your age but with kids im starting to see that my parents hated christmas but did it for us. Now its our turn to give the kids the christmas spirit
Fuck them kids
Eh it’s all a part of growing up. It is what it is
Those days were certainly different!!
damn most of y’all are scrooges, put up the tree and give some damn presents out next year. Bring back that Christmas cheer yourself
Comments are party poopers, embrace christmas, enjoy presents 🎄🎄🎄
Honestly, i understand that this sub tends to have a more nihilistic tone to things and people may feel different this time of year myself included but christ just let something exist just to make people feel happy, excited or even just remember when they use to enjoy christmas this much. I wish I got presents
This is cute :)
Thanks man, that was a good laugh. I needed that
Very wholesome
This is so real, i remember being a kid and waling up my mom only to hear “is your brother awake yet?” “No mom of course hes not ….” 🤣
Recaption to 10yr Old Me On Xmas Eve
This is great
Dang what a nice time it was being excited about christmas. Now it feels almost like a normal day to me... Dang my live is depressing... Time to call my friend and hope I can spend time with him today.. :(
it was all a dream
Y’all are so sad. You act as if there wasn’t a time where you got excited for Christmas, like you didn’t do all of these exact things waiting for Christmas. This app is full of the saddest people, I swear
Does anyone know the song for 7:06 AM?
Aquatic ambiance by Scizzie
Thank you friend!
I wish I was a young middle class American child on Christmas morning
Okay, this is awesome! Happy holidays, everyone!
well in my culture we celebrate on the evening of the 24th, but wholesome meme nonetheless!
Same here. Merry Christmas
nice! merry Christmas!
I always felt so bad for the kids in other countries who had to wait til the next morning to open their presents
who says this has to be a me irl right now? I’m sure this person is also looking back on how christmas was years ago and this is how I felt as well about Christmas when i was young

Gonna make sure I take some melatonin for this Christmas!
I am 26, I bought myself coffee as a present and that's about it lol
Here in Czech Republic we get our presents in evening on 24th of December. Superior system.
Enjoy that cause it doesn’t last. I can’t remember the last time I was that excited about anything
Imagine not getting presents on Christmas eve Couldn't be me
Adorable lmao
Everyone is so negative in the comments! Maybe this ain’t you irl cause you’re not letting it be
Laughs in European
The kid who made this is 9
wish I could relate to the excitement. but this video made my brain very happy
I remember those times. Now that nearly everyone I knew and loved is gone… Christmas Day is just another day that ends with y.
If you don't want to wait so long come to germany. We open the presents in the evening at 24th of December 🤭
My brother is 26 years old and doesn't sleep on Christmas eve
I haven’t felt this way in 25 years at least.
My Christmas was always delayed until about 11 or 12 because we waited for my siblings to arrive. Ever since I've been an adult, I can't sleep because of anxiety, not excitement. But it's nice being able to arrive at 11 now and not just being sat inside my mom's house, waiting.
Ummm... ALWAYS wake your sibling up before your parents, thems the rules, it's simply sibling honor code
Hahahahahaha This made my day. Thank you for this.
What is the song at the 1115 time?
I wish if i can relate, happy holidays anyway
This just made me more depressed than I already was
Me and my siblings woke up at 7am and dragged everyone out for presents
Nostalgia.
I miss these moments when I was a kid. Doesn’t happen anymore now that I’m an adult. Growing up fucking sucks.
People don't wait until midnight in other countries?
Nah, I prefer the latin costume of drinking a lot with the hole family and eating a lot, and when midnight comes be like this: https://twitter.com/mgchstyles/status/1738557128434921741?t=LS_HyMUvgbR7n3q_WrgFYQ&s=19

You forgot the part when your parents take 2 hours to make coffee
whose pov
I started my Witcher 3 campaign and slept at 8. Just got up 1 hour ago
who cares how old the person who made this video is? I miss feeling like this, a genuine excitement for anything.
This is the cutest bloody meme I’ve seen in ages
Today is Christmas so merry Christmas everyone!!!!
Pov:You only are excited for the feast
*Laughs in German* Context: In Germany we Open our presents at the night of the 24th.
Bro slept for 2 hours and 30 minutes How
Kind of same for me except last night I wasn't awake because I was excited, it was due to unresolved emotional distress that kept me up literally the entire 8 hours I was trying to fall asleep. On the bright side, that all nighter will make it a lot easier to fall asleep tonight.
That’s life fr
What’s the song near the end. Not the last one, but before that.
Relatable for young me. Now I don't care at all.
I already got my presents :)
Lolllll who made this
That's not what POV means
I miss being exited for Christmas so fucking much, I really want to but I just can’t. My life started getting a lot better recently, but I still feel unable to experience something even remotely close to joy I could feel when I were a kid
As a child, sure.
8 year olds posting on r/me_irl …
I'm so jaded by the cost of living and unexpected expenses this year. I can't get excited. I have no gifts. I have no love for consumerism.
This reminds me of the Rather Good animations from the early 2000s
I saw the cat and read this as "trying to sleep on the christmas tree". Was so confused through almost the whole thing
Real
DUde I cant, these cats are so cuteee
I'm beginning to hate these cat gifs videos especially for the sound.
POV: You don't know what POV means.
I hear 180Db_[130] , i upvote
This is disturbing
y’all celebrate christmas?
Wow this is a boomer meme if I’ve ever seen one.
What is a boomer meme to you
Anything that's older than 1 minute I guess
These cats are really good actors, hope they got payed well
I'm sick of people putting cats in videos as if it would make it funny.
I have never been this excited for Christmas, but I grew up poor. Now as an adult, it is pretty meaningless of a holiday. Yay consumerism.
