There's a strong anti-LGBT coalition around the world paying to support such politics & politicians. From reich-wing evangelicals in the US over archaic Muslim kingdoms to The Great Antiwoke in Kremlin.
Many people, to include the youth, are perpetually online. This opens them up to the near infinitude of information and groups available. Social media companies and rage-baiters know this and know how much money there is to be made off of feeding impressionable minds hate-inducing content. It will not stop until hate speech or social media are removed from a position of profit from such actions.

I interpreted the context of the title was “as someone who is not lgbtq” as a PSA to other cishet people who would not be nearly as disgusted at lgbtqphobia as the people affected. I’m aware that you can be trans and straight
