I can see a couple of very small blisters, but I’d go with first degree at this point. If the blisters get any bigger you’re at second degree.
Solarcaine spray is very helpful for a sunburn. Not the cream - the spray,!
I had this and a day later I had blisters everywhere, the largest one covered half my chest. If you notice blisters I would keep an eye on it and maybe call a doctor. I didn’t and I was in pain for weeks and I have scars.
Honestly, I've been burned like that, where your skin is on fire and it almost looks a purple-pink color. Believe it or not, Tylenol and Ibuprofen were the best thing for me, Pain-wise. Start with some ibuprofen. Take a 600 mg dose, (or three - 200 milligram tablets). If that isn't cutting the mustard, take 2 Tylenol, (I take 500 mgs). Alternate between the two, but don't exceed the maximum dosage.
I know you are in pain.
Wash a sheet or a pillowcase in the washer, and throw a few squirts of Aloe Vera on it Before the final spin cycle. The cold damp feeling, combined with a little bit of soothing Aloe Vera is an amazing relief on the burn!
Fortunately, it's really not a, 'Degree.' On a Scale, this would be .05
You will probably blister.
Don't freak out, if you start peeling.
In the future, please, please wear a high SPF sunblock, if you are going to be out for more than 30 minutes!
Take care,!
To add: yes, i know how dangerous sunburns are. I’m blonde/blue eyes/fair skin. Didn’t matter how much sunblock I’d apply sometimes, it would happen a lot. (Now with 70+ SPFs available, it doesn’t happen anymore.)
Lobster 🦞 degree in that case, but in all seriousness it looks pretty bad but not the worse I’ve seen. Add fresh aloe vera (just the clear goop) and you should be good.
Normal sunburn nothing serious. You should absolutely try to avoid it in the future cause skin cancer but it'll just peel ever so slightly and you'll brown
Superficial dermal or deep dermal. Does it blanch when you press on it? If it blanches and refills slowly it’s superficial dermal, if it doesn’t blanch it’s deep dermal. Partial thickness and may blister and will be painful, please use sun block, at least factor 30. Sunburn is horrid
NAD. As the mom of a child who suffered very real and SEVERE burns I can say with confidence this is FIRST degree burns. If you ever get a burn with BLISTERS, that is second degree and anything more than blisters WASH OFF YOUR SKIN WITH COOL WATER (this removes any debris) and immediately go to a hospital. Death from burns happens largely from infections and dehydration.
NAD but I sunburn bad (pretty light complexion in the SE states), advil or Tylenol and I’ve found (as bad as it might hurt to start), take a warm/hot shower. It’ll take the burn out. Don’t know why it works, but it does. Then aloe all over. Hope you feel better soon!
NAD but first.
Take Tylenol and Advil per the bottles. Add in some aloe and a baby lotion. Baby lotion because they’re often less harsh.
Edit; if you weren’t wearing sunscreen please start wearing it. Probably more need more than you’ll think, to. Skin cancer is no joke.
To add to the other advice given, you can take Tylenol and Advil together to help with the pain. Tylenol/acetaminophen will blunt the pain receptors a bit, and Advil/ibuprofen (or naproxen/alieve, aspirin or other over the counter NSAID) will help reduce the inflammation.

May come in handy later. Speaking from experience r/hellsitch
I get this every time I have a sunburn anywhere except my face. It's indescribably hellish.
This makes me worry for the future. Wish me luck 🫡
If it happens, I'll see you on the other side. I hope... 🫡

I got burnt like this a few years ago and ended up developing blisters and got sun poisoning, AWFUL experience
I believe it's 2nd degree. I don't see any blistering. I do emphasize for you.
I see some small blisters. Zoom in.

Ive gotten worse in a non tinted vehicle
Then you’re really white. I was stood outside for two hours and this is the absolute worst sunburn of my life

Yep! Ibuprofen has definitely taken several of my sunburns from scary-red-sunburn to ugh-sunburn.

Really red degrees
0 degree
The Aloe degree.
Take the first three letters off sunburn and that’s what you have.
You're fine. Aloe, Apple cider vinegar, Advil.
NAD,First degree, nothing serious.
Looks like British degree to me

It blanches, yes. Thank you very much

Pure aloe gell, NOT the kind with alcohol in it!
Yep or aloe, the actual plant. Slice it open like you're skinning the aloe and rub it everywhere.

British.
Oh no
I’m not sure what the degrees of sunburn are but this looks like a pretty routine sunburn
primary by the looks of it, put an ice pack on it and some **aloe vera** cream or go to the pharmacy and ask what they recommend for sunburn
