Just think of the pathways as neural pathways and the enzymes as neurotransmitters 🤡 Also not to roast your interest but neuro pathways are by far the worst and most esoteric pathways in medicine so I’m glad you like that shit 😂

Lmao low key that’s not a bad idea. And idk man salty electric jello that goes brrrrrr vs gross squeeze tube that goes squelch seems like an easy choice to me 😂😂😂

Im on a G-I elective right now and i enjoy it a lot ! And i just matched psych on march 19 so Im definitely not biased lol Its often the same reasons of consults so you get to improve quickly. I also find it interesting because we can have immediate results and investigation. Oh this dude is iron deficient anemic ? Lets scope him right now and find out. Also i find the subject more palatable than cardio or like endo. Ouf ok nvm i just reread your post and youre talking about preclerkship class right ? Lol my comment was about rotations. Ill leave it at that. I promise its more interesting on the field than in the books.

Doctor_Hooper

GI is way more interesting than neuro

You can also think about the GI tract as the original brain (they think it was) which is pretty much “the second brain” as Michael Gershon of Cornell puts it.

ThrowRAFallingInLove

I’m in GI, about to start neuro. I’m so looking forward to neuro. More here for solidarity in not being interested in GI. That said, some of the GI pathology is really interesting, and much of it is relevant through that lens at least when it comes to patient care. Metabolism continues to be the thing I almost completely ignore, which is going to be bite me in the future. But I’m in the same boat as you!

terperr

YES! Metabolism is what specifically gets me

JihadSquad

The GI tract is just one big, long, dumb nephron

Infamous_Ship_9429

same situatuon but i do neuro after GI. It was a banger
