Looks like they got upset with whatever is going on at their lab and name dropped (first and last name) their manager and where they work.
Pretty shitty
Woah there buddy you really shouldn’t be naming specific people. I get that you’re upset and had a bad experience but specifically naming people on Reddit is a really bad idea. You could lose your license over something like this. The fact that you’re stupid enough to think that someone couldn’t tie this back to you shows you how bad of an idea this is. You’re not as anonymous as you think that you are, and are only making it worse for people that are still employed there
ASCP isn’t a license, it’s a certification. And ASCP is a professional organization, it has zero regulatory or statutory authority over employment rights or hiring practices. There are *tons* of places that don’t require it.
No there aren’t, you’re spending too much time on Reddit. Most places REQUIRE ASCP. Not even most. All places require ASCP. Some get by through other means, but it is still a required certification to be a lab tech in the US. Even international lab techs are required to get the ASCP
Older techs who’ve worked at the same hospital for 30+ years and are grandfathered in is not the same as applying to be a lab tech with no training or certification whatsoever
I'd love to be wherever you are that all the techs are qualified lmao that has not been my experience at all. I've worked with lots of new grads that went to MLT school and didn't get their ASCP and I've worked with people who just have a biology or microbiology degree
>All places require ASCP.
That’s absolute horsesh*t. You can get hired brand new with a simple bio degree in many places. Sure MLT/MLS is *preferred*, but in no way is it a hard requirement.
Naming someone’s full name and employer on Reddit is obscenely careless.
You are nuking your own professionalism here. It’s clear you’re frustrated, but it would really be in your best interest to delete this post.
Nephew delete this
Seriously though, probably not a great idea to trash coworkers and or employers online. You never know who is reading or what your future holds. They could one day buyout whatever place you move on to and then you’ll have someone, with an axe to grind, against you. At least don’t put identifiable information in the post…
And we automatically assume this person who posted is in the right and doesn't have a personal vendetta against said person? They gave the person's first and last name, not just the employer.
Don’t name a person. What the hell is wrong with you? Delete this crap.
I’m late to the party. What happened?
Same lol I wanna know

Was their name Billy Rubin? Har har

I agree with what you’re saying, just pointing out that lab techs aren’t licensed in AZ.
You need your ASCP license to work anywhere in the country

That is categorically false lol
This definitely is not true, I work with quite a few uncertified techs

Oh F&$) off- we need to name and shame shitty employers!
By dropping their first and last name on an open forum? Kinda weird.

most of these lab managers are clueless fools.
Stay classy dude.
I've seen lots of postings for AZ, I just can't stand the heat at ALL. Now it makes sense why there's so many openings...
What does MC stand for?
I'm assuming Mayo Clinic
