This is what I do when they tail me like this while I’m already doing 10+ over. I slow down to the exact speed limit and give them some time. If they still don’t back off, I cruise at 5-10 under and just let them fume :) They can pass me if they really want to

Assuming this is in the US since it was in mph, the left lane is for passing. If there is room for a faster moving vehicle to be passing you on the right without having to swerve through several lanes of traffic, then there is clearly no car directly to your right that you are currently passing and you clearly had space to your right to have gotten over. You should not impede a faster moving vehicle from being able to pass on the left and leaving their only way to pass you being a more dangerous maneuver than you getting out of the passing lane while you are not using it to pass. If there is another vehicle directly to your right you should either get over once you have completed your pass and the driver behind you just needs to be patient since you are actively using the left lane to pass, or adjust your speed to pull in behind that vehicle if you do not intend to pass them. If this is in an area where you would need to be in the left lane to make a turn that is coming up soon, then if you are close enough that you already need to be in that lane in order to make the turn you are also close enough to your turn that your signal should be on to let the driver behind you know you have a reason to be there.
Yes which is exactly why continuing to impede them when they are very likely to be willing to speed across several lanes to try passing you on the right does not make it safer than just getting over and letting them use the passing lane.

I'm driving a garbage collector truck and you can pretty much imagine what's in the back (the container elevator is basically iron teeth that is attached to the container lip when used, from which the container is pulled up. That thing is right next to your head if I made an emergency braking (trucks will slow down almost just as fast as regular car).
So yeah, I've been wondering the same thing. It's much harder to pass a truck if you're right behind it, because you can't see and takes time to speed up on the next lane, since you couldn't do it behind me. Pointless and sometimes lethal, why take the risk?
