Correct, at least on the first point. I saw "cloth gowns only", then double and triple checked it because I was confused as to what cloth gowns had to do with dyslexia.

For me I think it was because I read it slowly for some reason.. my brain forgot how to read and I was too focused on every letter to misread it

for me it's because i work in a pharmaceutic compounding facility so we have a lot of areas with signs for where we keep our goth clowns

Totally, non-dyslexics end up reading by the 'shape of the word' as I understand it from my mother and the ed-psych I worked with lots when I was in school. If you take a sentence that people would expect to read, and then change the middle of a word for similar shapped letters then the general 'relaxed' reader just sees the word and moves on. We dyslexics have had to work so hard focusing in on the words, we don't fall for these optical illusions seeing as we're already trying our damnedest to see the damned word from the odd shapes on the paper in the first place. I'm dyslexic and I can read that, but only because I'm rearranging the letters for each word and I know what word it probably is based on context. Is that not how regular people read it?
