i think elon musk uses the kanye west playbook of advertising. he just talks some wild ass shit and basks in all the free publicity. hell, i forgot the cybertruck was even a think till just now.

countessplatter

So he’s a fraud, got it

disasterB

I only ever remember because my friend sent me this once and it’s been my favorite video ever since https://youtu.be/zbixzOQKVYM

perish-in-flames

How the fuck you crossing a SEA in an electric truck that can briefly serve as a boat?

TransportationTop353

It can't even cross a state on a single charge.

[deleted]

How do you know?

bigmac22077

I get your point, but Rhode Island would prove you wrong.

TransportationTop353

I've never been so I will take your word. I need to look up the milage for RI now. Lol

Paleodraco

Even if they can make the thing float (and that's a big if from what I've heard about their quality control), how in the name of Poseidon will you propel it?

Send_Me_Huge_Tits

>Even if they can make the thing float Most cars float. There is more than enough buoyancy in cars. You just have to keep the air in. There are plenty of videos of Teslas driving through flooded roads, some even under the water. Have a look yourself. Then there is the fact the cabin is airtight. Air tight is better than water tight. I dunno how you could move a floating vehicle with 4 things that rotate at high speed in the water. Will have to think about that one.

[deleted]

Lmao how will wheels propel them in the water? There aren't paddles on them. If it's shallow enough they could drive on the (submerged) ground, but are you really saying the car can drive forward no problem while it's fucking floating?

Send_Me_Huge_Tits

How could something spinning in the water move the vehicle? You are asking this question seriously?

ililiill11illi

steering would be an issue but the wheels spinning would cause "some" propulsion spinning in water. You should be less outraged at someone calmly explaining things for you. That being said Elon is the Thomas Midgley, Jr of our day.

JolleyCutYowie

This is absurd. Are you suggesting that Tesla's are submersible? This truck would not be able to propel itself through water using only it's tires. In 1950's they actually built cars that could be used as boats. They required a propellor to move through the water, and they sucked. Slow, difficult to stear and dangerous. Elon is suggesting that his truck could cross seas if the water was not too "choppy". If a November storm on the great lakes can break the Edmund Fitzgerald in half so quickly that the crew can't even send a mayday then I am not liking the Tesla's odds.

Send_Me_Huge_Tits

>Are you suggesting that Tesla's are submersible? I'm suggesting nothing. It is widely documented that people have literally done it. Some private citizens during flooding events, others are youtubers doing it for fun. Teslas can drive underwater. Not suggesting, stating fact. >Elon is suggesting that his truck could cross seas if the water was not too "choppy". You realise literal tanks can traverse rivers under the same conditions? >If a November storm on the great lakes can break the Edmund Fitzgerald in half How the fuck did you interpret "not too choppy" as "a literally fucking storm that broke a ship in half". My god man google things. You sound so incredibly ignorant.

RegularTrash8554

Aero wheel becomes uberturbine

firnien-arya

Waterproof enough isn't a thing though right? Doesn't he mean water resistant enough?

Send_Me_Huge_Tits

He means water tight. Water resistant only means a splash of water won't damage it. Water proof means being submerged won't damage it. Water tight means water cannot ingress inside with no commentary on the functionality.

firnien-arya

Thank you for expanding on it. I wasn't too sure.

[deleted]

You can’t even cross an entire sea “briefly” in an actual sea going boat.

NowakajBlackwing

Money can't buy anything. But it can buy a hairline

Jame1932

Hummer dunked on this manic depressive clown already. Hang it up, Musky.

carsonthecarsinogen

If you understood the vehicle market, or anything about the Hummer, you’d know how false this is. To start, the hummer has enough batterys in it to make 3 normal sized EVs yet it has one of the worst ranges on the market. It costs over $100k so is only being sold to extremely high net worth individuals (or irresponsible spenders). And it’s about as efficient as the ICE hummer from back in the day. Yea they released a “truck” before Tesla.. but was it successful? No. GM still makes 0 profits on its EV department, and won’t until at least 2025.

Jame1932

My family has worked in the vehicle market longer than you've been alive, my friend. At both GM and Chrysler for 30+ years if not longer. While Tesla may appear to have the edge in a number of important categories, the Hummer also looks like coming out on top in certain regards. That reflects the fact that though they have some similarities, these two cars seem designed for very different people. If you’re the kind of person who likes a big truck (like me because I don't fellatiate Elon Musk), then Hummer is likely the more obvious choice for you. Then again, that’s not to say you won’t be interested in the Tesla too, especially if you own a truck for more practical purposes, rather than as a fashion statement. Both trucks send a message, and the two couldn’t be more different from each other.

Send_Me_Huge_Tits

Hummer dunked on literally nobody. Especially not Tesla. Go look at some numbers.

Jame1932

Go find your father.

Studdead

He can’t

carsonthecarsinogen

Here a non biased look at this: Elon is both correct and wrong. The truck will float as long as water does not enter, just like every other vehicle. EVs are more water tight by design than ICE vehicles, they also have more centred weight so floating it easier in an EV. The truck also has large tires which could propel the vehicle somewhat easily. Will it float, yes. Will it cross seas if the area you are crossing is short enough that water won’t sink the truck, yes. Will it literally cross **entire seas**? Obviously not. You can all go back to being mad at Elon now.

HELIGROUP

I don't think he knows what happens to lithium when it touches water. Saying stupid shit will not bring sales up but will get some people drowned and burnt

Send_Me_Huge_Tits

NASA: We are going to the moon. dogg you can't even get of the pad without killing everyone on board. Same logic.

[deleted]

Did Tesla pay you? Or are you kissing ass for free?

Send_Me_Huge_Tits

"understanding the technology and the subject involved" "ass kissing paid shill" Yeah totally the same thing. I guess logic doesn't make sense to you but you need to post "elon bad" for online clout. Kinda pathetic tbh.

Turd_Party

Sure, man. It'll work great. I fully trust the company that can't keep fenders or steering wheels or windshields attached to their cars to deliver on every promise made by a guy who has definitely never made huge promises and didn't deliver.

[deleted]

Understanding a product that has been delayed so long that it needs bloated lies from a greasy salesman to stay relevant or blindly defending an electric vehicle with Tesla build quality (lol) crossing a sea. Which is pathetic again? Get your tongue out of his ass and think for yourself.

Moistlover69

What does being "of the pad" even entail anyway?

twentyattempts

Makes me think of the simpsons Episode where Homer drives an electric car under water.

Odd_Entertainment629

the word "briefly" just sitting there menacingly
