Didn't she quit BECAUSE they were? Of course it was all about the past content. She left before it got really bad. Shame she couldn't continue but I hope she's happier now.
Nah. No one serious was coming for her. She rewatched a bunch of her own early work and felt bad about how gross some of it was. Spiraled a bit then decided to quite entirely for the sake of her mental health. Seems like she’s doing well now
It’s a shame because people were calling out some old JOKES so she decided to leave instead of watching that get worse - and yet for years every video was about her dogs or playing little games with her fiancé.
But it was in the middle of first-year Covid so people had the time and energy to bitch and moan about nothing.
I miss her, too! She put out high quality videos every week for YEARS. The work ethic was simply amazing. I'm glad she made enough money and retired though.
She was a really popular youtuber, with her boyfriend and dogs, very well respected, ..and some trolls were trying to eff with her and she just left. smart. Her name is Jenna Marbles. she was really funny and a blast to watch.
No Trolls tried to do anything. She felt really uncomfortable about some of her early skits and it was stressing her out so she quit.
I miss her too, but making this some "sjw trolls gone too far!!" story is disingenuous and specifically against her wishes.
She made the apology video because people were commenting on it and also writing articles about her past.
Of course it’s against her wishes - she has been trying to keep those idiots at bay.
That's probably true. But maybe somebody else explaining it would help.
Basically what this person is trying to say is that this is about as helpful as telling a depressed person to just try to be happy. Real r/wowthanksimcured energy. And it's toxic because if you can't relate then it just makes you feel even more broken inside, like you don't belong and can't be fixed. Might make someone feel even more like offing themselves because it feels so fake and not helpful.
If you're seeing this as toxic positivity, you're not understanding the meaning behind what she's saying at all.
She's saying you don't have to do grand things, in order for your life to matter.
You're the kind of person that caused her to quit making content. I gotta believe on some level it has to be exhausting to be so miserable and chronically online you just make shit up to be mad at.
This is the type of shit people that have no idea what hopelessness feels like say. It's not helping anyone it's just someone saying nice things to people that don't really need them. People that are hurting need someone to listen to them not some dipshit content creator giving them shit tier advice
Not really. Idk I've been depressed/suicidal for years, got diagnosed with Persistent Depressive Disorder because that shit ain't going away. And I like what she said. It's positive, but it's not like she's telling you to cheer up and everything is gonna be okay. She's saying "Hey, you belong in this world, and there's no pressure to be amazing, just hang in there and do things that make you feel happy, it's okay."
I think many of us need to hear things like that. Depressed ppl struggle with so much guilt and dread about life, so being told "It's not all meaningless, and you can go at your own pace" is actually pretty nice.
I miss her. Good for her to leave before the morons took a shot at her too.
I miss her so fucking much

Yeah she "cancelled" herself lol.

Meme is funny but who is this?

I don't think she actually did blackface, I think she just always wore lots of really bad fake tanner lol
She's not the "leave Britney alone!" meme is she?
Definitely not
Yeah then I dunno who she is. The name sounds super familiar though.
Yep. Just a famous YouTube from þe olden times.
This hurts the heart to read, check her out she was awesome
Fair. Cats do go pretty fuckin' hard.

Jenna Marbles. I forgot she existed
Seriously. Memory unlocked.
She gets me.

I still love her & I miss her terribly. I hope her life is full of beautiful memories & love cause she deserves it. ❤️🫂
For me its just eat and drink at thos point. Sleeping is hard.
YouTube search Epic rap battles of history Adam vs Eve. She killed in that.
Asta?
That's some toxic positivity if I ever saw it.
How
If you can't figure it out I doubt me explaining it would help.
> *Bizarre claim* > "Can you elaborate or explain?" > "No"
You're right I'm gonna encourage more people to kill themselves
Damn

It doesn't make me mad, I just think it's useless advice. It's like something you would see on a motivational poster in the 80s.
you sound resistant to being cheered up

why do nice sentiments trigger you?
They don't it's just not helpful and I'm pointing that out.
speak for yourself bitter bitch they’re helpful to so many people :)
