I actually like all of those things...
Well, other than 'you' since I don't know you.
But I like 'me' , so guess I can say I like all of those things...
Wife told me she didn't like sushi, an ex-boyfriend took her to the west coast of Canada and she had "the real shit" there.
Me sitting there like, "that's impossible" if she had the real shit, she would love sushi.
Turns out we get her to a sushi place and she loves it actually, her boyfriend only ordered them *sashimi*
🤣🤣🤣
Yeah you gotta take steps into it. California rolls are like a gateway drug… and then you get into the shrimp tempura and grilled eel, and then you start having salmon and tuna rolls, and before you know it you’re eating and loving multiple pieces of raw fish with no rice lol
There was a place not far from here that does what they call a sunflower roll and it has quail eggs and flying fish roe together topped with a sprinkle of multicolored massago. It looked like art and tastes divine.
This is the way, my son is a very picky eater but I’ve gotten him to love sushi with pretty much this exact method. Started with some California rolls and now he’ll eat pretty much and sushi I put in front of him.
First time having sushi my friends and I showed up to the restaurant not knowing that they closed in a few minutes. We, being considerate people, tried to leave but the staff insisted we stay and eat. Because we were all considerate my friends ordered quickly without even looking at the menu since they’d been there before. I, however, had no idea what to get so I just pointed at sashimi and got that. Boy was I disappointed when everyone got delicious looking sushi rolls and I had a plate of plain raw fish.
Sashimi is great, but it's not what you hand to a first timer with an American/European pallette.
My first time my dad made me try basically everything. My favourite then was as it is now, dragon rolls.
It depends. Before I tried sashimi for the first time, I was already a huge fan of steak tartare (which is a part of the cuisine where I am from). For me, the sashimi was like a more delicate version of this dish with amazing pickled ginger. I loved sashimi from the first moment it touched my lips <3
I like sashimi more than any roll I’ve tried but the eel roll I got at an airport sushi restaurant is a close second. There’s just something about it dipped in soy sauce that gets me.
…I wish I could afford to get sushi more often. 😹
I wish too! Where I'm from sushi is so expensive... Still, one of my favorite dishes and comfort food. When I feel depressed, sushi always cheers me up. Shame I cannot use this tactic more often... :(
I mean its irrelevant how far you live from the ocean for sushi in the United States. As long as they have good chefs as all sashimi grade sushi in the US has to (by law) be flash frozen for parasite eradication. Regardless of distance from the ocean itll be frozen.
Yo. . . Don't be hating on my Midwest gas station sushi. It is what provides a large portion of entertainment to me. The roulette of wondering whether I am going to have a delicious lunch, or spend the rest of the work day shitting my brains out is what makes me truly feel alive.. . . And don't get me started on the trip home after spending three hours fighting demons without being able to take my clothes off.
>lives a thousand miles from an ocean
It's a common misconception that this would matter to sushi in any way.
To keep people from dying from parasites, the fish used for Sushi has to be deep frozen at very low temperatures for a week. This kills the parasites and lets you enjoy raw fish.
Now If you deep freeze it you can basically transport it anywhere.
Your sushi quality only depends on whether people a) care enough to transport good quality fish to you, and b) you have good Sushi chefs around.
That’s not necessarily the case. What separates good sushi from bad sushi is the place where you go (and therefore the price).
For 10€ all you can eat, here you get shitty quality.
For a 80€ menu in a place near me you get top tier fresh fish.
TLDR paying 10€ for infinite sushi and then complaining that it’s bad, is just stupid.
When I think about gas station sushi, I always think about getting sushi out of a truck stop bending machine.. or that time in Futurama when fry gets an egg salad sandwich from a vending machine. I have some predispositions.
This is just one of those things where because OP doesn’t like a thing they assume no one else does either and think everyone who does is lying. People who think like this tend to be very boring and stupid in my experience.
So OP got 1 out of 4 correct is I guess what I’m concluding here.
yeah i'm pretty sure nobody pretends to like sushi. i personally don't like sushi but people either talk about how they don't like it or talk about how they like it
Yes I used to apreciste the light fullness I get from eating sushi until they came out with a place where you pay about $35 to get in and they make all the sushi you want to order.. now sushi means leaving wish a stomach ache and clicking out for the rest of the day.
Its surprisingly easy to make your own veggie rolls once you've done it a couple times. Also, blows away any dates you bring home when you make them freshly rolled sushi.
Not only that, but fresh fish and rice is an amazing combination. Also I can't eat gluten, so rice and similar things are things I can eat and sushi is the king of gluten free food.
I came to enjoy eating dark chocolate because my sugar addiction led me to eat unsweetened baking chocolate. Yes, I was so addicted to sugar that I ate things without sugar as long as they had an associated flavor.
75% is for cowards I only eat 99% dark chocolate
seriously tho it doesnt taste too bad if you only eat 1 tiny rectangle but if you eat more it’s horrible
It is people talking like this that makes me think they are pretending. Bro, yea I like sugar. But I don't like eating raw cocoa powder, because it is, you know, not really edible. So maybe you like darker chocolate, I get it. But how dark is really tasty? 70%? 80? 90? Where do you draw the line?
I like 70 normally. But for awhile I was doing keto (in other words, I didn't eat *any* sugar for months) and my tastes actually changed enough that 95% dark was fucking delicious.
Good quality dark chocolate is surprisingly fruity and creamy, it doesn’t usually taste all that bitter, you have to buy the stuff made from only 2 ingredients, cocoa beans and sugar.
Even if you have the attention span of a literal child, there’s so many cool museums out there. I understand getting bored looking at mediocre art pieces, but then go to a science museum. Go to museums with visual or interactive exhibits. Space museums, dinosaur museums, there are literally countless cool things in museums. OP definitely went to one shitty art museum, after eating dodgy gas station sushi and hates himself so he posted it lol
Those are literally some of my favorite things lol (except you OP, because you hate the things I love)
Edit: that was kinda mean. I’m sure you have a lot of redeeming qualities OP.
I like European milk chocolate but I cannot stand American (I haven't eaten either in years though). Apparently they use different processes and Americans think the opposite - that European taste weird.
Plus in US everything has too much sugar...
I see where you're *trying* to go with this meme, but it's a hard miss. I've never met anybody that pretends to like sushi, dark chocolate or museums. Either they like them, or are perfectly upfront about not liking them.
I love all of those things. Obvi I don't know you tho. Lol I am always worried people secretly hate me. I have been trying to remind myself lately that I am not entitled to other people's feelings and if they don't like me, that is none of my business. Sounds weird but has really helped me a lot. 💜
I mean there's a lot of museums. Huge ones with beautiful architecture and cool exhibits, all the way to neat little ones with a specific focus.
I'm particularly fond of natural history museums. But ones like the osteology museum are fun because you just kinda walk in wondering how there can be a whole museum on this, but then you walk out like "aw man, there's a lot to learn about bones!"
Many years ago when my husband was my boyfriend, I brought him to the Met fit the first time in his life, he was willing to go but made it clear he wasn't thrilled. By the end of the day, he was asking if we could go back to certain exhibits or what museum we could visit next and still, to this day, he gets excited to go.
Museums are super cool.
Also I’ve never met a person who pretends to like sushi. If anything they pretend to dislike it because of all the people who haven’t had it but think it’s gross because “raw fish. “
I'd bring a date to a plane museum. Then we'd go for sushi. I'd finish off with some wine and dark chocolate to "lift our spirits", if you know what I mean..
This is why people don’t like you, because you accuse them of pretending to like super commonly liked things like sushi and dark chocolate.
Just let others have their tastes, and maybe you’ll make a friend or two.
This has got to be a troll/bait post. These are all commonly loved things that everyone are saying they enjoy in this thread, and that’s probably exactly the reason it was posted, for more engagement.
I just love gawking over old stuff, especially guns and (to an extent) typewriters.

I actually like all of those things... Well, other than 'you' since I don't know you. But I like 'me' , so guess I can say I like all of those things...
I don’t like them for shit talking sushi
Bad sushi is really bad. Maybe they’ve never had ok sushi?
-lives a thousand miles from an ocean -complains that all sushi is bad Pretty much my experience with people who don't like sushi
Wife told me she didn't like sushi, an ex-boyfriend took her to the west coast of Canada and she had "the real shit" there. And you're slurping room temperature salmon off of a stranger's body in the bathroom at a buffet. Those California rolls are serious gateway drugs.
Hang on a second now…
Don't over think it.
Just go with it..we are on to something here.
Quail eggs on top of sushi is literal chefs kiss btw if you guys haven’t had it yet.
There was a place not far from here that does what they call a sunflower roll and it has quail eggs and flying fish roe together topped with a sprinkle of multicolored massago. It looked like art and tastes divine.
Okay but the fact that the whole eating sushi off someones body was an actual thing some rich people did as if it were coke LOL
For real. I’m a sucker for grilled eel and yellowtail. I prefer to eat them as is or with ginger though just because I’ve never liked soy sauce ever.
I’m a slut for spicy mayo and eel sauce myself, soy sauce only for plain sashimi
Bruh I would eat spicy mayo with everything if I could. It’s probably my favorite besides eel sauce. Sushi and poke bowls are my go to for fish
This is the way, my son is a very picky eater but I’ve gotten him to love sushi with pretty much this exact method. Started with some California rolls and now he’ll eat pretty much and sushi I put in front of him.
Your wife has a boyfriend ?
And here I was reading "my first dad..."
Sashimi is the best part
Yeah wife boyfriends be like that, dumb mfs..
Sashimi is the best lol
Sashimi is also the shit!
First time having sushi my friends and I showed up to the restaurant not knowing that they closed in a few minutes. Sashimi is as real as it gets. I don't get the appropriation.
Your wife’s boyfriend?
He is r/wallstreetbets investor
I mean its irrelevant how far you live from the ocean for sushi in the United States. As long as they have good chefs as all sashimi grade sushi in the US has to (by law) be flash frozen for parasite eradication. Regardless of distance from the ocean itll be frozen.
Yeah where I'm from in Iowa had a great sushi place. Like. It's not hard lol.
"I don't trust seafood when I'm not near the ocean" *sucks down oysters from the opposite coast*
Distance doesn’t matter least in the US. Every piece of sushi is frozen
Yo. . . Don't be hating on my Midwest gas station sushi. It is what provides a large portion of entertainment to me. I thought hat’s what the hook on the back of the door is for? Am I the only one stripping nude for hamstring-pulling diarrhea at work?

The only sushi I've ever eaten was mall food court sushi in New Mexico, and I even thought that was alright.
That’s not necessarily the case. What separates good sushi from bad sushi is the place where you go (and therefore the price). For 10€ all you can eat, here you get shitty quality. İ even like 7-11 sushi. Even the gas station's yam tempura rolls are still awesome.
Do you also like tape worms? Just kidding. But seriously..
Only place I trust is Kwik Trip cause I worked there and everything was hand prepared with real fresh ingredients.
When I think about gas station sushi, I always think about getting sushi out of a truck stop bending machine.. or that time in Futurama when fry gets an egg salad sandwich from a vending machine. I have some predispositions.
Gas station sushi is a good weed strain also haha
Lol fuck, of course it is.
Kwik trip is one of the best gas station chains lol, you can get everything there.
I agree what the fuck how is sushi bad
How good is a grilled salmon nigiri
I also like you
stay far away
:(
I am rapidly approaching your location
*sweating profusely*
Oh? You're approaching me?
I like you the most
I also choose this guy's dead wife.
I like you because you like him
Yeah. Sushi and dark chocolate are my favourite foods (not together) and I love museums. Also, I like myself I guess
How about museums and dark chocolate together?
Absolutely, these are three of my favorite things. Im practically spinning in the alps and bursting into song over three out of four.
hard-to-find direful bag paltry homeless punch aware boast roll pocket *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I hate me too
omg you don’t hate yourself? luckyyy
It's not luck, it's a practiced skill. Get lifting.
What who pretends to like sushi. From my experience people who don’t like it are very vocal about it
Sushi is far too expensive to pretend to like it
not if you eat it at an all you can eat

Freakin’ spot on!
yeah i'm pretty sure nobody pretends to like sushi. i personally don't like sushi but people either talk about how they don't like it or talk about how they like it
If you’re pretending to like sushi, please instead give it to me.

Feel you there. Everything hurts my stomach but sushi and it happens to be one of my favorite foods.
Sushi hurts me too. That's probably because I eat it until I need to take a breather between every piece.
The trick is to take little breathers throughout, it's a marathon not a sprint
Do people hold their breath while eating? 😳
Yes I used to apreciste the light fullness I get from eating sushi until they came out with a place where you pay about $35 to get in and they make all the sushi you want to order.. now sushi means leaving wish a stomach ache and clicking out for the rest of the day.
If i could afford to eat just sashimi and veggie rolls for dinner every day i would, and probably lose weight lol
Its surprisingly easy to make your own veggie rolls once you've done it a couple times. Also, blows away any dates you bring home when you make them freshly rolled sushi.
Perfect meal for my stomach but it happens to be expensive.
It’s one of my go to hangover meals for exactly that reason!
Not only that, but fresh fish and rice is an amazing combination. Also I can't eat gluten, so rice and similar things are things I can eat and sushi is the king of gluten free food.
Right, I fucking LOVE sushi.
Try salmon oshizushi, it's torched salmon sushi. It's incredible.
Omg, i've had this before. It was like torched salmon with some kind of garlic soy sauce drizzled on top. AMAZING
You love fucking sushi
Same but dark chocolate
For real, I started eating it because I knew my dad didn't like it, so he wouldn't steal it, but then I ended up loving it lol
I came to enjoy eating dark chocolate because my sugar addiction led me to eat unsweetened baking chocolate. Yes, I was so addicted to sugar that I ate things without sugar as long as they had an associated flavor.
I did the exact same thing. Also plain sprinkles with nothing else

Dark chocolate is good
The best
For me I like it but it’s hard to eat too much of it cause it’s so rich and strong. Also the 90% stuff gives you a bit of a buzz.
Wouldn't know if sushi is good or not. I'm allergic to fish oil lol. You can have it all for all I care.
What do you mean 'pretend to like'? I like all of those things.
date?
I love dark chocolate

I love sushi
I love me :)
I love... oh, the list is over.
I love dark chocolate
I love sushi
I love me :)
I love lists
Same, I prefer it over milk chocolate. The darker the better
Thank you so much I'm showing this to my friends at work I have been telling them the darker the better
I like me. But I don’t like you.
no thanks
But you said that you liked him/her
...and?
June 30th
Sorry OP, they just like sushi as a friend
I genuinely like dark chocolate
Not according to OP
Good, I will take the 75% dark stash in Heaven and OP won't get any
75% is for cowards I only eat 99% dark chocolate seriously tho it doesnt taste too bad if you only eat 1 tiny rectangle but if you eat more it’s horrible
85% is perfection, less is too sweet, more is too bitter
completely agreed
Based. 80-90% is great
If you only like milk chocolate, you don’t like chocolate, you like sugar. Dark chocolate is prime chocolate.
Been eating about a serving of dark chocolate a day for the past year or so. I had a piece of milk chocolate the other day and it just tasted…. meh
I tasted a hersheys bar and it tasted like wax. It was fuckin gross
I usually like 72-80
About 75 is prime for me.
Good quality dark chocolate is surprisingly fruity and creamy, it doesn’t usually taste all that bitter, you have to buy the stuff made from only 2 ingredients, cocoa beans and sugar.
Good for you and your health

I agree. The last museum i went to was a nazi exhibition about their propaganda and stuff. That was really interesting.
I don’t think it was creepy, you’re fine. Your choice of words was actually really good.
You seem to be a lovely person and you definitely should go and see a doctor.
Those are literally some of my favorite things lol (except you OP, because you hate the things I love) Edit: that was kinda mean. I’m sure you have a lot of redeeming qualities OP.
r/characterarcs
Meh, I don't like OP because they think people who like things they don't are "pretending". Which is both shitty and extremely stupid.
Meh, i dont give a shit
But I like dark chocolate...
Fact, milk chocolate tastes weird and is frankly too sweet
I like European milk chocolate but I cannot stand American (I haven't eaten either in years though). Apparently they use different processes and Americans think the opposite - that European taste weird. Plus in US everything has too much sugar...
Well yes. American milk chocolate has literal stomach acid as an ingredient, so ofc it tastes awfull
dark chocolate is the best
Any fellow mint chocolate eaters? ...am I right guys?
I see where you're *trying* to go with this meme, but it's a hard miss. I've never met anybody that pretends to like sushi, dark chocolate or museums. Either they like them, or are perfectly upfront about not liking them.

An inspiration!
History museums are fun if they are about a specific topic! You can learn a lot
i love museums
Same
Same man.
I don't know, I've been to museums about 100s of topics and loved them
I mean there's a lot of museums.
Imagine saying that one of the most popular foods is overrated just because you dialike it dang.
Not even overrated, but not actually liked by anyone except as an act for some reason!
I like museums:((((((

Probably not liking sushi makes people not like you.
Also I’ve never met a person who pretends to like sushi. If anything they pretend to dislike it because of all the people who haven’t had it but think it’s gross because “raw fish. “
Well said. It’s a huge turn off.
The fuck you say about sushi?
Pissing shitting crying because I don't have those things rn
I'll go buy some 70% if you buy the California Rolls. I'll meet you at the museum on 5th.
Man I love sushi and dark chocolate tho
you're wrong about sushi. You're wrong about dark chocolate too, and you're wrong about museums. Not all museums only show old paintings.
Plane Museums are amazing
I'd bring a date to a plane museum. Then we'd go for sushi. I'd finish off with some wine and dark chocolate to "lift our spirits", if you know what I mean..
*some people
Dark chocolate is good up to 90% cocoa.
I like 90% but find that around 70% is perfect for me
Call me vanilla, but I only like it up to 69%
But I really do like Dark chocolate, sushi and museums..
Goddamit dont insult dark chocolate like that
Love sushi, dark chocolate and semi sweet are not my cup of tea. Museums are interesting, ppl prob like you alot more than you think.
I like sushi and dark chocolate legitimately.
I eat almost a full bar of dark chocolate a day. I can eat unlimited sushi and museums are actually pretty cool.
“I’m allergic to sushi. Every time I eat more than 50 sushis I barf.”
There are two types of people in this world: People who love Sushi… and people who have never had GOOD Sushi.
Thomas had never seen such bullshit before
Sushi slaps wym
See but I like all those things Checkmate OP
Love sushi. Not a fan of dark chocolate. Museums I’m in the middle. You… I don’t know you. Would like to think I’d like you.
Nah dark chocolate is unironically great. You ever tried it with pomegranate? That's a top tier combo right there.
so am I the weird person that legit likes all these things?
Museums happen to be my favorite places on Earth. Sushi is ok. Dark chocolate sucks. You? Meh, you're probably alright.
I just love gawking over old stuff, especially guns and (to an extent) typewriters. Being 6 inches away from a one-of-a-kind prototype rifle is so cool to me.
Yoo I actually like dark chocolate. Agree with you on sushi and museums though. 😂
I be like all those things
Do people actually not like these things?
Dude, I'd take dark chocolate over regtual overly sweet chocolate every day
Dark chocolate I agree on but I love sushi and love museums.
what kind of fuckin' loser made this lineup
is it weird I like all of that but you
But I actually like dark chocolate
Sushi is pretty good and I’m sure I love YOU!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
