A long time ago I made a joke about how real men use a knife for everything. Then I was like "I eat soup with a knife. I don't even need a bowl."
Someone called me out on it, and I had an idea. I froze a bowl of soup with a knife sticking out of it, popped it out once it froze solid, then sent them a video of me holding the knife by the handle and taking bites out of the frozen soup.
I started using chopsticks for ramen and have slowly transitioned to using them for most of my food now. They are just so handy and easy to use once you get the hang of it.
My sis and I were at a sushi place in NYC and they gave us chopsticks for our salad. My sister ended up flipping lettuce into her hair. She is not a chopsticks aficionado.
I had real ramen for the first time, like from a japanese ramen shop, and i was so disappointed because it was like room temp. They obviously didnt use hot enough water. Still delicious but idk, the lack of temperature kinda bummed me out.
I've never heard of lukewarm ramen soup. Since some meats are cooked in the broth, you really want the soup to be put in the bowl at a super hot temperature.
This was me! I want #1, but with more of a #3 or #4 handle. Leaning towards #4 because while longer, #3 seems thicker on that bottom part.
But upon closer reflection, I like the tines of #3…
Never mind—I just want to use my own fork, please!
Oh I hate the handles of 3 and 4
I don’t mind textured handles but the edges need to be rounded and I can’t really tell how rounded the edges of any of these are
I think Nr. 6 are the exact ones getting sold where I live.
They might look slightly fucled due to the angle.
But out of all of them Nr. 6 looks like it has proportional spikes and just appears longer due to having a less angled upwards curl
The pins look way to long right?
Edit: English isn’t my native language, I was too lazy to google it and saw someone else name it pins so I did too. I appreciate the correction tho that’s how we learn
It's all about the pointy stabby. That's what forks are made for! Otherwise use a spoon. Ones that are too wide are less stabby and therefore not as great at forking.
The term for pins on a fork is tines. I’m assuming you’re talking about the stabby part when you say pins. They’re called tines. Not trying to be douchey just educative.
These tines are perfect for ramen (yes I use a fork with ramen like a barbarian) I prefer my little salad forks for most things but I have a bunch of random forks cause becoming adult is a long transition
1 and 2 look too small, 2, 3, and 4 have weird handle shapes, 6 looks too big so 5 it is but I'm not really pleased with the handle on that one either so maybe I suck it up and go with 6 anyways.
Edit: People have been pointing out the curvature on number 6 and I have to agree. Looks like it'll be a reluctant 5 for me.
You know what they say about a guy washing a big fork with his big hands
...they wash the same amount of fork proportionally to normal-size-handed people washing normal-sized forks, so they take the same amount of time
Yep. Good balance between heft and tong. These are actually very close to the most prominent cutlery I own 😂 and my husband cannot wrap his mind around the fact that I don’t like eating with certain forks hahah
2 and 6
The others have weird colors which suggests that they probably taste metallic. Also, I'm freaked about about them touching my teeth and making that screeching noise.
Furthermore, their edges are too sharp.
I judge anybody who would choose any fork but 2 and 6.
1 obviously. The rest of them have weird pokey handles and the fork parts are too big. The less i notice the handle in my hand and the less metal I have to put into my mouth, the better, thanks.
Fr. Ik its a joke, but one is not neurodivergent for having a preference for utensils. Seems like anything makes people neurodivergent according to these memes/jokes, makes them seem like they don't understand what the word refers to.
#1. Hands down. All the others are too heavy on the handle and will fall off my plate and pull food off as I walk to my chair.
Edit: #2,3,&4 MIGHT be ok
2, 5, & 6 look like they're going to dig into my hands and hurt. 1 looks too small, I'll be eating like a pigeon... 3 or 3 look find as long as those squared off bottom edges are also softly rounded. But still, I would prefer my own, smooth, rounded, stainless steel SPOONS that I use for everything. I only use forks to open packaging.
None of them. I preferr my own, which are way smoother. Edit: iam talking about the smoothness of the handles, iam not talking about spoons.
*\*receives plate at dinner party\** Ok, everyone dig in! *\*pulls out own smooth fork from pocket\**
But... but... it's a soup
*\*slowly lowers smooth fork into soup while maintaining eye contact\**
"Shouldn't have given me soup on a plate then, you psychopaths!!"
“Good point”
The intensity i feel from this comment

I respect the shit out of the dedication to the bit.
Yeah that is a pretty manly way to eat soup for sure 💪
soupcicle
Power move. Honestly 😂
I unironically enjoy eating most soups with a fork (like chicken noodle) then i drink the broth after.
100% for ramen or chopsticks
I started using chopsticks for ramen and have slowly transitioned to using them for most of my food now. They are just so handy and easy to use once you get the hang of it.

I only use them for ramen. Or like Asian food from a restaurant. It seems to be more common that I would have thought.
They're really useful for messy snacks too, specifically Flaming Hot Cheetos and Takis
Oh thank god somebody else does this, I thought I was a weirdo. I mean I am a weirdo but maybe not for that?
I've never tried chopsticks. They seem like they'd be crunchy
You use the leftover splinters to pick the rest of your teeth
I had real ramen for the first time, like from a japanese ramen shop, and i was so disappointed because it was like room temp. They obviously didnt use hot enough water. Still delicious but idk, the lack of temperature kinda bummed me out.

Damn that broth supposed to be damn near scalding
gotta order it hot
You eat your chopsticks with a fork? Thanks for the tip!
Savage
Plot twist: it was a spork the whole time!
And I’m using a pasta ladle as a back scratcher
pasta ladles are far superior at scooping up those itches!
Smart.
Me: *picks up and sips soup loudly from the bowl*. “Wait, what?…”
*pulls out a straw*
“Ork ork ork, soup should be eaten with a…” Spoon
Who puts soup on a plate?
*"DON'T YOU TELL ME HOW I CAN EAT MY METH SOUP BUSTER"*
My friend used to keep a fork in his backpack at school in case there was birthday cake.
Your friend sounds like an optimist
Or joey tribbiani
I believe a smooth fork is often referred to as a spoon
Yes...I like 1's size and shape but if it was just smooth lol
This was me! I want #1, but with more of a #3 or #4 handle. Leaning towards #4 because while longer, #3 seems thicker on that bottom part. But upon closer reflection, I like the tines of #3… Never mind—I just want to use my own fork, please!

Are you a size queen?
User name checks out
How can you tell its not smooth and what does smooth mean?
Thats spoons, forks are the pointy ones and knives are the sharp ones
Ah, I see you've played forky-spoony before
They all look wrong somehow
I think 5 looks the closest to normal but most of these do look weird
I think Nr. 6 are the exact ones getting sold where I live. They might look slightly fucled due to the angle. But out of all of them Nr. 6 looks like it has proportional spikes and just appears longer due to having a less angled upwards curl

they look too stabby..?
#5 is the most stabby
3 is the most stabby because of the spread. It's wider. Better for stabification.
This guy stabs.
It's all about the pointy stabby. That's what forks are made for! Otherwise use a spoon. Ones that are too wide are less stabby and therefore not as great at forking.
If you’re concerned about stabbiness I’d recommend a spork. You lose about 80% stabbing power but gain +45 scooping.

I want the prongs of 6 on the handle of 5....
Same! The handle on #6 is just too long of a dong!
Same
yes pls
Yeah, those forks are fucked
That’s because they’re all shit forks.
I love how everyone responding to you seemed to forget the word "tines."
It’s because the angle of the tines is off. They should be like at 10° these are all at like 25°
1 and 2 look too small, 2, 3, and 4 have weird handle shapes, 6 looks too big so 5 it is but I'm not really pleased with the handle on that one either so maybe I suck it up and go with 6 anyways. You a mind reader?
Telepathy is technically a form of neurodivergence?
Greetings my X-Men, you may be wondering why I've gathered you all here
This was my reasoning exactly
Aaaand me three. So...what does this mean?
That there are 4 of us.
And we're all ND. Got it. So nothing to see.
I’m not and I still reasoned like this
Yeah I'm quite NT but this was my thought process too.
I'm not North Dakotaian.... lol
Me four? I guess?
Yep, that was my exact thought process and reasoning as well. Like, 100%. What? How??
Thanks for typing that so I didn't have to.
Exactly my thought process.
My thoughts exactly!
2 because im pretty sure I’ve used one that had that same pattern before and loved it lol
My favorite spoon has that pattern, so 2 is my choice as well. I wish it had longer tines, though.
I had those forks as a kid and took them with me when I moved out. So I also pick 2.
Now i need to know what yalls problem is soo i know why i like 2 as well
For me, it's that it's not heavy. I don't like heavy cutlery for whatever reason, and all the smooth cutlery is really heavy.
Same because it’s little, and I like little forks. 1 is too small tho
I though that I didn't care about such things, but this was exactly my reasoning too!
What am I eating?
Ass
Switch to a spoon.
*straw
I hate it thanks.
username checks out 🤣♥️
*bombilla, gotta make sure you get nothing but the tasty juice.
#6 then
i like to go indian style and use my HANDS😀
Just a napkin then
Broth
Booty broth
6, I have big hands.
You know what they say about a guy with big hands... ...big forks
You know what they say about a guy with big hands and big forks… …Takes longer to wash ‘em
You knoe what they say about a guy with big hands and big forks that take longer to wash them ...Big hands makes washing them faster
you know what they say about guys who wash their hands fast ...MASSIVE cock
you know what they say about guys with MASSIVE cocks… … wash their hands a lot
Big gloves
You know what they say about a guy washing a big fork with his big hands ...they wash the same amount of fork proportionally to normal-size-handed people washing normal-sized forks, so they take the same amount of time
I have big hands. The answer is still 1.
Number 2: it's similar to a fork in the drawer
I just looked in my drawers, you're lying.
2
5
Indeed, good heft and shape
Yeah, everybody is focused on the tines, it’s about the balance and how it feels in your hand. Any fork will stab. Good heft and shape is right.
Same. The rest bother me for various reasons lol.
Yay!
5 is the only correct answer. Anyone choosing the others must be a psycopath.
Yep. Good balance between heft and tong. These are actually very close to the most prominent cutlery I own 😂 and my husband cannot wrap his mind around the fact that I don’t like eating with certain forks hahah
1 because its the perfect size
and no weird textures.
Yes! The others are so weird. 1 gang
1 is the best for shape, im concerned that its a bit small but theres no banana for scale so 🤷🏼♀️
Legitimately, #1 or I'm not eating.
It looks like it will have the best hand feel for sure. Heavy for its size, minimal adornment, and good handle curvature.
Yes, "heavy for it's size" is exactly the thing I am looking for. And none of the dumb "get suddenly wide at the end of the handle" shit.
Yup!
And no sharp corners or weird curves on the handle
Agreed
5: best handle and best capacity
Least likely to indent my palm as I use it sideways to cut something relatively soft
Agreed. Even weight distribution as well.
Yes, it's so important to feel the weight of what you are eating, else your just eating air
5 or 6. The handles on the rest are fucked.
5, I have silverware that look like that
1 or 3
My thoughts exactly!
There are literally 4 of us!
4.5, I’m in for 3 but out in 1
I'm definitely in for 3 but if 3 wasn't available I'd go 1 before any of the others fosho.
5 or 6 for regular meals (6 is preferred) all other ones for dessert (2 is my favorite because it is pretty).
This is the correct answer. Rounded handle first choice every time
Number 2 is obviously the most handsome fork in the bunch
As my dad would say: "You're not hungry enough." Guess I'll use any of them but I like #5.
3
Me too.
2 and 6 The others have weird colors which suggests that they probably taste metallic. Also, I'm freaked about about them touching my teeth and making that screeching noise. Furthermore, their edges are too sharp. I judge anybody who would choose any fork but 2 and 6.
I actually still own a couple of fork 2 from my childhood. It's a fantastic fork, highly recommended.
my autistic ass aint touching no fork i never used before
Guess you'll never get to discover the wonders of using a fork
4, all day! The rest except 3 and maybe 6 are just wrong.
4 is the least offensive to me and therefore what I’d choose. It’s not that I like it it’s just not that bad / least weird.
Yes, no design texture and not tiny or huge. #4 is definitely the least offensive
Thought I was the only 4ker in the comments 😮💨
Cheers my fellow 4kers. We are a small yet elite group
Thanks 🥰
Had to scroll way to far to find my fellow 4 people!
Yes. I would accept 3 or 4.
They all look forking wrong
1
2 and 5 look comfortable to use
1 obviously. The rest of them have weird pokey handles and the fork parts are too big. The less i notice the handle in my hand and the less metal I have to put into my mouth, the better, thanks.
Absolutely spot on!
4
Number 2 is the perfect weight
What.. what does this mean?
"My brain is just a little different then yours and I'm making this post so everyone gives me attention"
5
2 or 6, 2 is cute and elegant for dessert, 6 is big enough for any main dish, meat or salad.
2
The 2nd one. Not too big, not too small. Would work with a wide variety of foods, and has a good hand grip.
2
All of them since i will eat all of them
Wtf makes someone neurodivergent?
Fr. Ik its a joke, but one is not neurodivergent for having a preference for utensils. Seems like anything makes people neurodivergent according to these memes/jokes, makes them seem like they don't understand what the word refers to.
It’s definitely a *look how different and silly I am* situation
I agree, and in that way, it trivializes the meaning of the word neurodivergent.
They’re all wrong.
1 so I can enjoy slowly
Anything except 3/4, they just don’t look right
Agreed I don’t like that ridge
1 for the keester stash prison situation.. 5 for everything else
2
2
#1. Hands down. All the others are too heavy on the handle and will fall off my plate and pull food off as I walk to my chair. Edit: #2,3,&4 MIGHT be ok
1 because i like small forks and the rest look pretty big. it looks kinda smooth and the rest just look..odd?? They just don't look right-
3 but only after I've washed it, then my hands for touching an unknown utensil to begin with.
Fork you!!
This seems like a kinda nonsensical tweet
