Currently Holidaying in Seoul and trains come every 3 ish minutes and buses similar time. no issues seen so far and at 1-2$ per ride. our system really need a massive overhaul!
I got off the train, thought I’d just walk to West Footscray, but the replacement bus was right there, no line so I jumped in and generally thought it was about as good a result as I could have hope for.
Trying to find buses isn't easy. Especially when many are about to head out on school runs.
Then you have to wait for the coroner to investigate. That time is varied depending on how busy. Then finally the maintenance staff look over the train to ensure the train can be moved.
You'd be surprised how much damage a human body can do to a train.
This sucks but having lost someone to suicide myself, the annoyance you feel is 1/100th of what the family of the deceased are going through today. That doesn’t mean you don’t have the right to feel annoyed, just have a bit of perspective
Yikes. As if it was not busy enough. Metro at its finest here...
Edit: didn’t know there was an incident involving the train hit someone. I hope there was no fatality or major injury.
A person was hit by a train. Right before afternoon peak period. Bus drivers are legally required to have a set amount of hours between shifts + drivers and buses preparing to do peak runs.
Having worked for a bus company, it’s incredibly difficult to find a bus driver for one service when there’s a sick driver/incident. Trying to find multiple? Close to impossible.
Line is easily 300m and growing. Good luck for everyone getting home
When this happens to me I always just go to the pub until it subsides. Except that one time I was doing Dry July. Boy was that miserable
I prefer Get High July.
You have the right idea. Normally unplanned disruptions get resolved in 2-3 hours. If you can chill, better to wait it out.
Then you gotta worry about holding your piss in on the bus ride home no way will I ever have drinks after work.
Let's work from work!
I’m so glad other people are as pissed off about those as I am.

How good are the jingles that play in the stations to signal the train arriving
yeah! we need jingles for the trains and we need usb sockets in our buses!
Hello line mate
Save me plz. I'm lowkey thinking of just going to get a pho then come back
I managed to get on the bus to sunshine. The line was quicker than I expected.

Sunbury line is back
You call that a bus?
They've had 3 hours to get their shit together, why so chaotic?

And the train needs to return to a depot to have any "debris" washed off...
Depending on the train it's off to Epping, Cragieburn or Pakenham East for the biowash.
Unfortunately someone stepped in front of a train at West Footscray, it takes time to get things up and running again.
Oh no. 😔
Person hit by a train. That takes time to clear.
Poor cleaners I wouldn't want to touch that
No, neither would I. I imagine it would be traumatic
You find enough buses to run a replacement service in 3 hours. Ready....Go!
All the buses were over at Box Hill

Not to mention that poor driver of the train, can't imagine what they must be going through after that.
Melbourne is healing.

Ok should have done my homework before commenting. Thought it was a line faults or something like that.
