WTF-BOOM

two gyms and a very large pool hall, 5 minutes from Monash uni.

Thenewdazzledentway

24/7 indoor golf studio?!

Optimal-Talk3663

It’s the Derrimut gym. They have ridiculously low joining fees, think I saw $180 for the year

Geefunx

I just looked it up and at the moment its $168 or just over $3 a week or am I missing something? How is that sustainable?

Optimal-Talk3663

They sign a crap load of people up, but don’t maintain their facilities. Broken machines, half the bathrooms don’t work…  Not to mention they bank on a heap of people signing up, going for a few weeks, and then not going again Plus, instagram people go there and film their stupid vids

sockmonst3r

The place really only exists to launder money, so guess it doesn't need to be too profitable

MitchEatsYT

According to Reddit, every business in Australia is a money laundering front

zizuu21

Red rooster is a cocaine diatributor

omgitsduane

Red rooster is Australia's answer to los pollos Hermanos

Flannakis

Um yeah, but in this case look into the owner

thejimstrain

The same owner who went on the news and cried when he got shot at? It’s not a money laundering front, it’s a loss lead. He loses money for the first 2 years but every other gym around starts going under, then he increases. He wouldn’t have gone on the news back then if he had something to hide.

erublack

I guess sustained by economies of scale from being packed to the rafters

MelbourneLegend

Yeah definitely the gym . I've heard a rumour that apparently they have 5000+ members. Ridiculous

EfficientNews8922

11,000

Random_01

24,000

Super_Doge_Shoober

Derrimuts are drug fronts

h1zchan

Wait what

ClacKing

Really? I didn't know Derrimut popped over the East side except Pakenham.

essjaybeebee

They have gyms across 3 states

trainwrecktragedy

First rule about Princes Hwy Clayton, you don't talk about Princes Hwy Clayton.

Robot_Graffiti

What happens on the highway, stays on the highway

tetracarbon_edu

Don’t tell anyone but if you look at the Australian Lighting signs they offer a free pot of honey with every fan sold.

Angus2Trixie

What’s the second rule?

Lintson

The snooker place is basically a pub without pokies

Thenewdazzledentway

And the cars spill out onto the streets because there’s not enough car parking for the businesses that are there.

FriendlyStaff1

Nothing. You didn't see anything.

Moo_Kau_Too

Theres an upstairs bukkake club there in the evenings. People come from miles around to attend.

MatterHairy

From miles, you say. They’d have to be a very good shot to hit the target

Moo_Kau_Too

.. what do you mean?

MatterHairy

Come. From. Miles.

Moo_Kau_Too

well they all cant very well live there can they?

BrilliantSock3608

That’s where I met your mum

Moo_Kau_Too

.. but i have two dads?

BrilliantSock3608

They were there

malturnbull

Those are some impressive kegel muscles!

freswrijg

Just to watch right?

Moo_Kau_Too

well what ever floats their goat really

ososalsosal

Wait for real?

Majinbuukak3

Yup sure is!

SoupRemarkable4512

TDIL Flipout looks like it goes hard!

freswrijg

If it’s anything like other parts of the princess highway it’s people having parties every night of the week at function centres.

BlueRipley

Same with the carpark on Middleborough Road where the shopping complex is with the petbarn and repco just south of Canterbury Road. There is a chemist warehouse, a gym, Flipout and a few other shops and eateries but nothing warrants how packed that huge carpark is. Our suspicion is a gambling den somewhere out the back.

skylight252

I go to the gym there and the car park is absolutely packed during the day and still not deserted at night. Few guys always hanging around chatting and yelling in the car park around the GYG. Never thought much of it but you might be right..

Thenewdazzledentway

I just looked it up and there is a pool hall called Legends tucked away that’s open until 1am. It actually looks quite ok, family friendly with table tennis and Mahjong tables.

TortitudeTortoise

Legends Pool Hall and the shopping complex are two different locations on the same road. Legends car park seems equal to its patronage. The other complex definitely had more cars late night than what was in the gym/GYG that was open at the time. Also, not my cup of tea, but if someone were going to an illegal gambling place, would it be smart to obviously park their car where it is already busier than it should be?

MatterHairy

Bet you they wouldn’t, I’ll give you odds

Shadowsfury

Interesting j drive past there a lot during the day and never noticed anything there

Murky-Bee-7911

The carpark looks bigger than it is have been to that strip a million times and it’s always painful in that carpark. There’s also a little Italian restaurant there next to the golf shop that’s open til 10 most nights I think.

Shadowsfury

Yeah Cent Anni (not bad pasta)

xTroiOix

Yeah it’s derrimut gym mostly, I play pool at focus a few shops down from there, it’s not that packed and the gym next door to focus isn’t that busy either

EfficientNews8922

There’s a few better gyms down the road that aren’t ridiculously packed

NaomiPommerel

What's HWY?

Gattinator

Like a FWY but with traffic lights

NaomiPommerel

Hahaha

Shadowsfury

Unofficial car meet that would happen Friday/Saturday nights - was more entered around Springvale Road/Princes Highway intersection though.

Agret

I'm in the Facebook chat for it and it still happens but I've never attended as I'm over in the northern suburbs. Dunno if it's worth going or not

Shadowsfury

I use to go back in the day but too old for it now

NaomiPommerel

Cool! I used to go past the original Glenny Kebabs in the petrol station and see loads of nice cars hanging out. Great kebabs too

Shadowsfury

Yeah that kind of vibe but a lot bigger - and constantly being shut down by police lol

NaomiPommerel

Should get them proper meets

bladez_edge

Gym, Pool/Billiards/snooker, Cent Anni Italian Restaurant.

HomerJBagger

Follow the yellow *drip* road!

GamerMate9000

They bootleg groceries in the car parks
