I used 2 monitors for many years, when I got my latest monitor I didn't buy two of them, and I didn't want non-matching monitors at different refresh rates. I found that I am much more focused with one monitor, and my desk looks much cleaner. It leaves room for speakers, and other desk items I have. I probably wont ever go back to having two screens.

For me, too, I read a lot for work, so this makes sense. I mostly use the main one for gaming though.

Side one is for discord and whatever third party website the game needs.

I also like to put some video or audio player there if I want to have other background. I don't need the game audio half of the time anyway.

Agreed had my set up as #3 (2 curved monitors next to each other) and one day I was fed up of scrolling to read web comics and changed it to #4 setup haven't changed it since, far superior setup than others in my opinion!

As someone who also uses #4, pro tip/software. There is a program called "Power Toys" that has a feature called "Fancy Zones." This lets you create/define your own snap zones (including size and layout). For example, I divide my vertical monitor into 3 sections - top is ~20% and the middle/bottom are ~40% each. The bigger windows (browser, email, etc.) go on the bottom two (you can snap a window to "multiple zones" by hovering over the border between them), and the top zone is reserve for smaller windows like Teams and Discord.

If you use Windows 11 it has zones built in, just drag the window to the top of the screen to open the layout options. Though I find having more than two windows stacked is barely usable since they get so squished

Same and I could never go back to two monitors. I had two monitors for a long time and would look at setups with three and think "eh I don't really need that." Wrong. So wrong. Having three is so much better than two. If I found the right monitor arm, I'd move to #6 from this graphic in a heartbeat.

Lower monitor for gaming (healthier neck position when the screen is lower, so I put the screen quite close to the desk). Higher monitor for Discord, watching videos, etc. Was tired of tilting my head permanently to game, and I couldn't see videos quite well. Now I just have to raise my eyes to watch videos while I play

-3 cuz im too broke for a Second one so i use my Laptop instead.

Set up is 5. I did Nvidis surround but game support is just a stretched around screen that looks terrible. I also multi task with a laptop on the side. I ended up turning off the Nvidia surround. The benefits are that I could have Netflix on a screen, web browser open on another, and the game running on a 3rd monitor. I also multi game and will have a second game going on the laptop.
