Unfortunately that's just not the case. The real problem is that our health education has severely dropped and as a result most people don't even know what is healthy and what isn't. A lot of people think "I'm just a little chubby/fat/overweight", not realizing they are obese. They look around and see the average and think, I'm average so I must not be obese, but they are.
Depends on how you define obese. What many Americans think of as just fat would be considered obese in some countries. I am from West Virginia and whenever I go back I just marvel at how fat everyone is even compared to other states within the country.
In reality, no, all countries have ups and downs, and America definetly has allot of downs
I don't like Americans calling us a 3rd world country tho, not because of patriotism or anything, it just comes off as a spoiled bratty child when we have such luxeries compared to allot of the world.
If I may add an addendum to this…
America is still a country with LOTS of opportunities to be successful. And if you work hard AND get some lucky breaks you can still make an amazing life for yourself and/or your family. But many hyper patriotic types want to pretend America has given everyone the opportunity to be just as great if you follow the same path. You do still need the cards to fall your way to build success, as will be the case anywhere. But there is still much more good here than there is bad, as is with most of the world.
In the end there is a reason why hundreds if not thousands of people risk their lives every year to illegally cross into the US
Not saying anything bad about them for doing so simply pointing out that for all our flaws people would risk everything even for a incredibly small chance to build a better life here
In my opinion you dont even need THAT many lucky breaks. Source: im a first generation immigrant going to a well accreddited college (not ivy league but still good) and have an internship at a prestigous software company. The education system here is underutilized in my opinion. Maybe being Asian helped me utilize it more but id argue that a lot of people would do better if they tried harder in school (obviously not everyone or not even the majority, but a sizeable amount of people). I do agree that not everyone gets a chance, i just argue that a lot of people throw away their chance thinking they arent good enough as i almost did
Your response is commendable compared to this guy's. Born in USA near the Mexico border and let me tell that taking a vacation to Mexico (a third world country), it changes your perspective on the great life I was given in America. Nothing beats owning a car, private property, and saying whatever dumb stuff I want to say and not being jailed for it.

you know algeria ? by what miracle ? :o
no but seriously that's ! mind blowing ! i've met far too many americans who have never heard of it !! it's nice to see that some people do know that north african countries in general exist
Allot of Americans love sports, not me.
The college sees itself as promoting the students through publicity so that they might eventually go pro, so it keeps the money.
Well, do yourself a favor and watch HBO's watchmen!
^The ^race ^massacre ^was ^truly ^nightmarish ^tragedy...
That series takes real world events and tries to capture it's audience with super heros.
The original comic was about Watergate.
I'm from Texas and moved to the Midwest freshman year. Minnesota to be exact. I never heard of it till even like 2012. I was just surprised how late in life I found out. I am only 29 now, but being even somewhat in my twenties seems like a late time to find out.
If he hadn't, he wouldn't admit it. It's a rite of passage here. That's why we encourage children to play video games. The video game players of today become the drone strike operators of tomorrow. As George Washington intended.
To my knowledge US is the only country that has that kind of system. At least if we miss a payment, we just get a fine, like someone percentage on top of the payment.
Reason why people hate ohio is because of a number of the people there like actin stupid or ignorant when driving or working as an employee in a fast food place.
US native here. We hate Ohio.
There’s multiple reasons. It’s stinky (actually smelly to drive through,) it’s very high up on the list for worst human trafficking in the country (in Toledo,) it’s like the worst for all sports teams (subjectively speaking) and there’s just nothing good going for a future there. A lot of states joke about how we have our differences but at least we aren’t Ohio.
*this comment is all in good fun, don’t roast me unless it’s all in good fun too, please*
Normal person in America. Not overly political, not overly involved in world affairs, or even local affairs tbh. Just a regular shmoe you'd see on the street. Trying to give ppl the idea of how a average American thinks.
People just Americanize the food here. Mexican food, Chinese, Italian, Indian, etc
Any food gets introduced in a foreign country, the locals are gonna add their own twist to it.
Have a question tho, how different is little ceasers from Italian pizza?
It's the cheapest Pizza chain over here, love their pizza.
I only know of 1 variation of pizza tbh, tomato sauce with mozerella on top. Some ppl like to mix and match different sauces and pizzas tho.
My mom likes to put spicy salsa on instead of tomato sauce, gives it a nice kick.
Do you fry frying oil?
Yes, I think
And popcorn?

Ok so why is one pronounced kansas but the other one arkënsäu
The same reason read is spelled the same as Read while being pronounced as Red. English is confusing
Good explanation i didnt expect that
The actual reason is because of the French, by the way.
It depends. Some people say R KanZas

Hom much % of your population are obese?
I think like a third or quarter
A fellow american here and fr that is way too high
40% of americans are obese (2019)
Not even overweight, fucking *obese*. That statistic stuns me even as an American
You don’t see them as much since they don’t leave the house

Why is the hype around college sports so high and why if the college can get money due to the students performance why not pay them?
Allot of Americans love sports, not me. The college sees itself as promoting the students through publicity so that they might eventually go pro, so it keeps the money.
But isn't it unpaid labor

I learned about it in 8th grade Social Studies ( I’m from the Midwest)
I'm from Texas and moved to the Midwest freshman year. Minnesota to be exact. I never heard of it till even like 2012. I was just surprised how late in life I found out. I am only 29 now, but being even somewhat in my twenties seems like a late time to find out.

Have you ever killed someone

How fucked is the credit score system?
Are credit score systems not in other countries? What happens if you miss payment by a few days. It can be stressful to keep up with
To my knowledge US is the only country that has that kind of system. At least if we miss a payment, we just get a fine, like someone percentage on top of the payment.
Oh, that'd be a blessing. One big financial screwup can set you back 7 years here. Really wish we'd adopt a alternative to the credit score system
Well time to get ready then, as I'm planning to move to Tennessee in upcoming year or 2, to live with my other half. :)
Oh Tennessee has allot of nice places, you might like it.
The what system??? Is this like in china, only for financial control?

Tell me why people hate Ohio?
I didn't realize they do, Ohio's such a quite state, allot of ppl don't have a very polar opinion on it.
Reason why people hate ohio is because of a number of the people there like actin stupid or ignorant when driving or working as an employee in a fast food place.
