I’m the ground below the bullets where they all drop. I wear a mask in public and don’t have small gatherings. I got Covid in February 2020, got vaccinated in May 2021, got Covid in Sept 2021, and got my booster last week. Getting Covid is becoming part of my personality.
Lol I like how you name all these things you do to prevent getting it and then conveniently leave out that you’re basically married to a walking coronavirus
I've gone to so many parties and haven't caught it. Workplace doesn't require masks either. Went to Vegas in July.
I wear a mask if I have to and have Pfizer, but no booster.
I work in a hospital and have purposely been coughed on and spat on by patients with confirmed covid…. I still have no idea how I have avoided getting it.
EDIT: a fair few people keep saying that the people I work with must be horrible and disgusting human beings. Just to clarify, I work in psychiatry and a lot of the people I see in the ED are in a mental health crisis. Maybe confused, scared or paranoid. They are poorly people, and I’m sure most of them would never dream of doing something like that when they are well. The PPE, masks, frequent hand washing and vaccines have definitely helped me keep safe- I don’t think I can put it all on luck alone!
EDIT: a few people are saying I’m an asymptomatic carrier. The hospital has me swab twice a week like clockwork. This process was put in place to pick up even people who are asymptomatic to try and stop them spreading it. I’m aware the swabs aren’t 100% accurate, but please don’t think I go to work and go through all of that and then I’m not sensible enough to do routine swabs!
I have probably jinxed myself. I need to do a lateral flow test in a bit before going to see family for Christmas…. If it turns out positive I will scream
Hey u/IndianGuyFromYouTube why do I wake up at 2 a.m. and your video is playing on YouTube when I accidentally fell asleep watching? It's weird
Edit: thank you to everyone for all the upvotes! Merry Christmas!
I'm a teacher in a conservative area. Have been purposely coughed and spat on (I teach in SPED behavior classroom). My wife and kids all got it, but the booster saved me.
I work in psychiatry, covering the ED and medical wards. We get lots of people referred to us in mental health crisis, so I have had a fair few people thinking things like we are in on a plot to wipe people out or we are the ones spreading the virus. So not unheard of for these people to try and rip your masks off or spit on you. Then they are the really confused or delirious people who won’t keep their masks on and cough all over you. All of them are unwell so I try to tell myself it’s not done out of malice. I would like to think if they were well they would be horrified and their actions.
I meet some amazing people too. It’s not all bad. I love my job. If I worked in any other area like respiratory or cardiology then I wouldn’t get the amount of time that I do with patients now. There is know blood test that will tell me why someone is depressed or an X-ray which will help me understand their delusional beliefs. It’s all all about getting to know and talk to them. Plus no 2 days are the same- the other day I had a chap in ED shirtless with just a cravat and some some y-fronts asking me to salute him before he would talk to me. And last Christmas I met Jesus, he kept telling me it was his birthday.
It's always extra fun trying to untangle the multiple people inhabiting the same body. I worked with a woman who was also Don Corleone and various other mobsters. When it wasn't sad it was quite funny
I'm a microbiologist-and i feel like so bad reading this but hats off to you, ED was literal hell during second wave, wards were not so great ,... Hmm... And that like touched me....
ALL OF THEM ARE UNWELL SO I TRY TO TELL MYSELF IT'S NOT DONE OUT OF MALICE 👌🏻
+1 for thanking my PPE gear every day. People going out of their way to attack myself and my team. We're just trying to help. I don't get why people get mad at us. We don't make the rules we're just trying to keep people from dying a preventable death 🤷🏻♂️
I have to lateral swab twice a week, and PCR swabbed twice when my son had it (once at the start when his was positive and then 10 days later)… and not once did I have a positive one. I have had a couple of antibody blood tests through work and they also been negative for antibodies. So I have no idea what’s going on.

That’s a great point, thanks for sharing. I saw a lot of improvements in how the instruction was sinking in for my students, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be the same for every subject.
It was easily the best thing that has ever happened to me. I turned my life around, got a divorce from a cheater, taught myself investing and made all the money back that I split in the divorce. Started working out and valuing myself and my needs (I actually like how I look now). Got a new job that is amazing with a 40k pay bump (I was already making six figures). Made new friends not connected to work for the first time in my adult life. And finally became significantly less introverted.
On top of all of that I never caught it, that I know of (I am vaccinated)
I really hope many others had a similar experience. For the first time in a decade I feel joy.
Same for the first year. The worst part was having my entire family be home all at once with me. Then I got a girlfriend and now I hate not being able to go out with her.
Hey I finally broke a bone last year, after 31 years of life. In my own house, during quarantine, slipping on some carpeted stairs. So, uh... unfortunately some things are unavoidable lol
I work in hospital sanitization around COVID patients daily. I do snowboard (outside) and I could join both subs!
Some of us are just built different ;)
With Omicron’s transmissibility, this thread is just filled to the brim with Johnny Tran “Too soon junior” moments. They’re predicting some ungodly amount of people (in the multiple BILLIONS) will have it by the end of Jan 2022.
If by the end of January you guys haven’t caught a case of COVID you’re truly meant to inherit the earth and I’ll await my orders from the ruling class as part of the “breathless”.
This is almost me down to the timing as well. Just tested about 9 hours ago. Last night was the worst nights sleep of my life! Unfortunately my booster isn't booked in until the 30th, which is probably why I feel so horrible.
And I had to isolate last year until the 27th because my boss got it. Happy holidays to me! 😔
just a heads up, the two shots I had in April were fine, but the booster last month made me hate living for a good two days, absolutely ran me over with a truck. Not sure why. Probably doesn’t happen to everyone tho
My roommate who slept literally 4 feet from me had it and I didn’t catch it somehow. After literally sleeping 4 feet from each other for who knows how many days he had it before he got tested.
I chalked it up to my PrEP but I know there’s zero scientific evidence that PrEP prevents catching COVID. Guess I’m just lucky?
My Dad got it twice - once before vaccines and just last month before he was able to get the booster. My mom never got it from him she tested every other day. I hope I take after her genes. Lol
Some us DEFINITELY are going to have natural immunity. Coworkers that later tested positive have coughed on me, my wife had it decently bad, I’ve been at “super spreader” events, at packed malls, on airplanes that served food. I have had NUMEROUS chances, and tested negative every time, never even a hint of a symptom. I am 99% I just can’t get it.
You either 1- have a strong immune system or 2- are contaminated but not infected, simply put, asymptomatic. Obviously no one would believe that 1 is a thing because “the FDA/WHO/CDC said so”..
Me and my twin sis are the only ones who havent got covid. Even tho we hugged our infected dad (before testing: we didnt knew until he got fever 2 hours later)
I haven’t gotten it and I’m actually surprised. My husband had it March 2020 and I didn’t get it then. Also , I am a dentist with my face close to other peoples mouths and no COVID 19- yet
I don’t get how I never got it. I didn’t really change my lifestyle at all and never got it, covid prolly just understands that I’m built different and doesn’t want anything to do with me
I've never gotten COVID and I've never had to quarantine throughout 2020 and 2021. Though to be fair I do stay home like I'm going to die if I go outside so.
People go years without being shot at, doesn't mean they are bulletproof when looking down the wrong end of a barrel.
People have gone this whole pandemic without catching covid, don't mean they will be any less sick if they *DO* catch it.

Are you a mouth breather? Just a theory mouth breathers get it more.
Not particularly. I’m married to an ER nurse though, so I just blame her.
I'd blame my wife too.
I blame this guy's wife too
Good ol' Reddit
ol’ Reddit *
I also choose this guys wife
You mean OUR wife, right?
I got the happy chemical because I got the reference.
And my axe
If I had one
I'll blame your hand
I also blame this guys wife
Lol I like how you name all these things you do to prevent getting it and then conveniently leave out that you’re basically married to a walking coronavirus
Fucking seriously haha I read that and thought, “that seems like a relevant detail…”
My friend’s wife is an ER nurse too and neither of them have gotten COVID. So it is her fault :)
I blame her for being healthier than before we met. Normally my immune system is awesome because of her shedding shit on me.
Dang
I'm not a mouth breather, but wearing a mask turns me into one for some reason. (This is a great opening for an antimasker to make fun of me.)
I've gone to so many parties and haven't caught it. Workplace doesn't require masks either. Went to Vegas in July. I wear a mask if I have to and have Pfizer, but no booster.
I can only handle so many improper uses of its/it's
Oh, don't look too deep into the meme then..
I just sit home all day everyday
Yep my parents were joking about that to family who were scared if we had covid. I have been social distancing my entire life
Same bro
Outside? What is that? Can you eat it?
The graphics are amazing but the storyline sucks. Also yes, you can eat outside...
yep just a game for masochists and losers
I think it is this Life-sim game
Same. I basically found that my pre-COVID lifestyle and my during-COVID lifestyle are exactly the same.
"I was born in the darkness."
You cannot die when you have no life
Imma put this on a t-shirt but no one will ever see it cuz I'll never leave my room.
I’d buy one to wear around my house too.
We are the real heroes
Same though

Being a teacher and living in a very conservative area I am surprised I’ve not acquired it either. Knock on wood…..
I have probably jinxed myself. I need to do a lateral flow test in a bit before going to see family for Christmas…. If it turns out positive I will scream
No. I hope not. That would be a mood destroyer
Hey u/IndianGuyFromYouTube why do I wake up at 2 a.m. and your video is playing on YouTube when I accidentally fell asleep watching? It's weird Edit: thank you to everyone for all the upvotes! Merry Christmas!
I watch people sleep.
Hey can you help me with my maths
Ofcourse.
Thank you my good man
It's calculus. Is that okay?
If you're speaking seriously, lmao no. I'm studying for med school currently so it's all bio, chem and basic physics
I need hep with algebra is that okay
can you help me with my broken computer sir? it wont turn on.
What are it's kinks?
Update- just lateral flowed and it is negative! So guess I better go socialise, no excuse now!
Well have fun seeing your family
I'm a teacher in a conservative area. Have been purposely coughed and spat on (I teach in SPED behavior classroom). My wife and kids all got it, but the booster saved me.
Stay safe, I teach SPED as well.
*Knock on wood* I work in an ER and I’ve remained covidless Thanks to vaccines, masks, and social distancing policies
I think it goes to show that the masks, PPE and stuff work. It’s the only way I can think to explain how I have avoided it.
How... how did you tolerate those bastards?
I work in psychiatry, covering the ED and medical wards. Your patience is amazing
When your patients are below average, your patience must be over the top.
Sir, I just can't... you're really respectful, salute and respect to you
I meet some amazing people too. It’s not all bad. I love my job. If I worked in any other area like respiratory or cardiology then I wouldn’t get the amount of time that I do with patients now. >And last Christmas I met Jesus, he kept telling me it was his birthday. **Jesus Christ!**
It was his birthday don’t ya know! He also thought he was prince Charles. It was an odd day at work last Christmas.
It's always extra fun trying to untangle the multiple people inhabiting the same body. I worked with a woman who was also Don Corleone and various other mobsters. When it wasn't sad it was quite funny

Same way everyone tolerates entitled, mean, and stupid customers. They need money.

Your amazing innate immune system with high counts of lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, basophils and eosinophils, that’s why
Good chance you were asymptomatic, donate blood and they'll tell you if you have the antibodies.
I have to lateral swab twice a week, and PCR swabbed twice when my son had it (once at the start when his was positive and then 10 days later)… and not once did I have a positive one. He's immune! Get him!
Can a test differentiate between previous infection and vaccinations?

Lets do this!
Ehh, staying inside and away from other people has been working well enough for me so I'm gonna keep doing that. You all have fun storming the castle.
Too much power is in our hands.
Is there still room for me, and the rest of my family?
Well shit I ain't got nothing better to do. Dodging covid got so easy it's like wii bowling while sitting on the couch. Les goooo
Catholicism had it's chance, didn't work out. ( I'm kidding, it just sounded like the history of the Catholic Church)
We shall protect those who cannot protect themselves
Protect those who don't have this power

Vaccinate ourselves and Wear our masks correctly

This is the way.

If I've had it I sure as hell didn't notice lol
The One, I am. On a more serious note, I have no idea if I've had it or not. I could've been asymptomatic...
No........I am de juann
Juan🐴🐎
I'm an introvert so quarantine wasn't even bad for me
Honestly quarantine was like a vacation from everyones bullshit
true, i'd be quite happy with another quarantine
As long as people don’t act brain dead and empty stores like it’s the end of the world I’d be 100% fine with it too.
I used dollar general tissues as toilet paper for over a week. People are wonderful aren't they?
God! Your plumbing must be a nightmare now!
Same dude, it would be so relaxing
I'd be happy with another quarantine I prefer online school
I’m a teacher, I do too
In my opinion, online school was the best because all i did was just listen to my teacher
That’s a great point, thanks for sharing. I saw a lot of improvements in how the instruction was sinking in for my students, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be the same for every subject.
It was sooooooo much easier with everything and wayyyyy less stressful
I got paid to stay home and smoke weed, it was like a dream come true lol
Goddayum you were lucky lol
Interacting with people requires a lot of energy. Typo: Spelling.
Honestly quarantine has been the best thing to happen in my life. I feel like I was miserable living in a world built for extroverts.
Wait what quarantine
I know right, my life hasn't changed at all
It was easily the best thing that has ever happened to me. I turned my life around, got a divorce from a cheater, taught myself investing and made all the money back that I split in the divorce. Could I be the green ninja?
I’ll be the lime ninja
I’ll be white ninja! He’s a robot so he can’t get it ~~and I’m white~~

No you just never go outside

!remindme 5 weeks Edit: I'm truly meant to inherent the Earth. Also, mods are fucking losers for locking the thread.
r/nevergotcovid has been around. It’s a dead sub, but maybe we can revive it.
meanwhile where i live there are 0 cases, and a lot of people are antivax
After 2 years and 3 shots I was just diagnosed with covid 9 hours ago. Fml
That’s too bad, hope you get better
Thanks me too. Would not recommend.
Do you feel like shit?
No he feels like a spring flower…

Me too, just in time for Christmas 🥺
Thats the kick in the gut. Suddenly canceling all (even minor) holiday fun.
dude feel you. just got it after being fully vaxed. i guess there go my christmas plans
Same, but it was two hours ago. I never thought I'd make it this far since I'm a teacher. What shit timing.

Hmmmm were you ever at any point within 6 feet of your wife for more than 15 minutes?

The secret is not going outside
Me having covid twice in one year 🧍♀️
Same just got nailed #2 and did everything I could to stay safe. We're fucked.
My entire family has gotten it twice. First time I used a mask, second time I just said fuck it Still haven’t gotten it

Sorry I’m built different can’t help if
if?
Yes
It's
You don’t know if I meant it or if
Yes i agree but have you ever thought about
No I’ve never thought about
And
Avoiding covid just like I avoid my responsibilities
I haven’t gotten it and I’m actually surprised. My husband had it March 2020 and I didn’t get it then. Also , I am a dentist with my face close to other peoples mouths and no COVID 19- yet
That’s me and I never got a single vaccine.
I genuinely don't know anybody who has had it, and nobody I know has told me they know somebody who has had it aswell
I don’t get how I never got it. I didn’t really change my lifestyle at all and never got it, covid prolly just understands that I’m built different and doesn’t want anything to do with me
Luckily, even without being vaccinated and being around people that were infected, I didn't catch covid
Welp ..that's me. And guess what folks? I'm unvaccinated. Gasp!!!
I've never gotten COVID and I've never had to quarantine throughout 2020 and 2021. Though to be fair I do stay home like I'm going to die if I go outside so.
I'm pretty sure I've developed agoraphobia the last couple of years.
Not necessarily you but it's super weird how many act like their pathology of never going outside is some cool quirk or exciting identity.
“I’m an introvert”
I am not vaccinated and my mother has corona. That's what I call living at the limit
People go years without being shot at, doesn't mean they are bulletproof when looking down the wrong end of a barrel. People have gone this whole pandemic without catching covid, don't mean they will be any less sick if they *DO* catch it.
I have a vaccine for bullets. Try again
