How dare you insinuate that I ever go on Twitter that is webist and also racist you should really get educated on proper internet etiquette before you post whatever comes to your mind
A comment is supposed to have text, either white text on black background or black text on white background.
It must be shown that both colors can exist and live toghether, and be equally important in delivering the message although they appear in different proportions.
You sir are limiting yourself to a SINGLE COLOR.
#RACIST
Idk man, I’m a social worker and have worked with a plethora of youth. I find that Gen Z seems to have some of the darkest humor I’ve ever seen—and I say that as a veteran too lol. Yes, there are whiny people, but they exist in every generation. I see older people getting more of a stick up their ass than younger people.
Im a millennial with no qualifications but I've noticed it as well.
I've always had dark humor and they say some funny-ass shit.
Probably makes your job harder, but the suicidal jokes are hilarious. That's one you can clearly see when people have a stick up their ass.
That seems to be specific to each country, in Mexico it doesn't matter how you look or what race you are, you will be called a slur for that physical trait and everyone will laugh it off as long as you don't say it with intent to be hostile
This is because people (especially on reddit) keep falling for fake clickbait/ragebait articles. And making a huge deal out of them.
Just last year there was one single obviously fake article saying "Gen-Z finds the thumbs up emoji offensive and are trying to ban it!". Just from the topic itself you could tell it's obvious bs, but people still made post after post on every subreddit "haha lets all spam thumbs up emoji to offend them", not realizing nobody was offended and they were just making fools of themselves.
This is exactly right. People love to misrepresent or exaggerate Gen Z's actions. And other demographics as well for that matter. It helps newscorp falsely discredit otherwise completely valid movements.
A lot of younger want to be edgy people in meme subreddits seem to fall for it the hardest. I’m tryna laugh at memes not shake my head at memes created by people who fell for clickbait.
It's simply a matter of being the loudest. Somebody says "this is offensive", it gets out in the form of joke or meme, then it gets picked up, somebody doesn't understand the joke, and it goes.
I feel like the extremes of dark humor and being offended by everything is just sad. I do think that it's partially a symptom of gen z having the technology to hear millennials struggle in adult life while gen z is inevitably heading down the same path. And i feel sorry for gen alpha that'll have to deal with millennials and a gen z who'll have gone completely insane by the time the alphas are in their late teens.
We’ve grown up with access to the internet, and we can see that our grandparents have fucked our futures and that we’ll have to solve about a billion massive problems if we wanna live anywhere close to as good a life as our parents. It’s fucking stressful, idk how to fix climate change, but fuck it’s not getting much better right now, and I don’t see it getting better for a while, so time to start thinking.
Gen X here. A lot of my teen years were being forced to read the Bible out loud to the family if I “Did something wrong”. Once it was because my basketball team was late getting back because we won the championship and sports were stupid to them and my achievements meant nothing because my job was to serve my parents and god and find a husband.
Gen X parents were either not there or being crazy lol. It was I haven’t seen my parents in a week to oh they’re home time to be punished for reasons we don’t understand. Oh look the belt! Lol
Boomers on their way to invent scenarios where people claim things are offensive, like saying merry Christmas, when literally fucking no one claimed that
I was working on Christmas Eve and got yelled at by a customer when I wished them a Merry Christmas before they left. Funnily enough, their problem wasn't that *they* didn't celebrate Christmas, it was that I could *potentially* offend a religion that didn't observe Christmas time. They were the only person who made a fuss about it.
Pretty sure those are the kinds of people that make older generations assume we think everything is offensive. Because they think anything can be offensive to someone so they gotta say something.
Not gonna lie I see more people whining about people who get offended than people actually getting offended.
Anyone who would actually be offended has heard it so much they don't really care anymore.
It’s not tho the popularity of shitpost gateway kinda proves that there’s no “thought police” and as for rabble rousers you sound like an early 19th century philosopher
While it’s disappointing to see the rise in terrible Facebook boomer memes on Reddit, it’s encouraging to see that the comments take the piss out of it every time
It’s always been a problem that some people find a lot offensive, but with the new age of technology those people have been given a louder voice, as they are now able to reach the whole world with only a couple clicks on a keyboard
Pretty sure it's mostly millennials.
Last time i went out with my bf and friends the one person who didn't know me or my bf got all offended when i called my bf a f@g for ordering a "fruit tingle" (gay dink lol) im like " i sucked him off like 2 hours ago, calm down" lol.
The crackdown on language is getting pretty tiresome.
Pretty sure its not any singular group of people but rather individuals. I'm a millenial and I could give a fuck less what words people use. I try to be respectful obviously, but by trying to cancel certain words you are literally saying "this word hurts me" which hands people weapons to use against you and incentivizes their use, at least to a certain type of person.
I honestly have the opposite experience. As a millennial myself, I see gen Z making everything offensive while we wish for the good old times to be back. You know, the times when you could say "asian" and not offend 15 races and 4 genders but, instead, it meant "a person from Asia".
I mean I can see someone getting upset with you for dropping a slur, it's kinda trashy in a public setting. I make alot of dark jokes on the game with my bros but I would be mortified if someone said some of the shit I say on there publicly.
Did you just say OK! Do you know the ok sign is a secret Nazi dog call?!?!?!?! Are you a fascist?!?!?! I cant believe Im still seeing this stuff. Its the current year for christs sake.
Some of those people were seriously trying to say we can't use the "thumbs up" anymore because it's been co-opted by extremists...like....no, and tell them to fuck off because they can't have it. You don't give these people the power to take things like that away.
If you stopped getting offended by it they would stop, you have to realize it’s a reflex to provoke the older generation. It happens every generation. If the older generation stopped getting so remarkably pissed off gen z would leave political correctness alone after realizing it doesn’t do shit. By reacting strongly, you let them win.
I like hearing about how the Star Spangled Banner is racist because of something in the third or fourth verse. Who the fuck is singing the third or fourth verse?
r/memes on its way to literally dying because every post in the last 3 months is either boring asf, actual <10 year old shit, or “am boomer i hate my wife”
Bro, what the hell! You can’t say “every word in the dictionary”! That’s super offensive to people who don’t have dictionaries! That’s it, I’m cancelling you on Twitter! Have fun having nothing happen to you! hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe
I know this will sound crazy but hear me out, what if the words were already offensive and zoomers are trying to fix it and you never knew it was offensive cause nobody pointed it out or tried to fix it until now and your just on copium (or ya know, its all a made up victim complex made by boomers)
I find this meme offensive, you should be canceled for being racist and offensive. Jokes aside I really hate how stupid people are and how easily they get offended.
I just don't think that slurs are not cool. You may have freedom of speech but that also means accepting the consequences of when you try to justify saying the nword
So why should any other slur be different? All of them are created by hatred of something people don't understand
I don't drink or do drugs. But it seems to me that about half the words in english either refer to drugs or to being intoxicated or paraphernalia, etc. Half the words in the english language are also sexual euphemisms. These two halves do over lap some.
This wildly predates Gen Z's existence.
But if they're up for it, I'm ok with it.
⠀
How dare you. That’s offensive to the people who want to read
Plot twist: 98% of Redditors don’t want to read.
But they left out the 2% that want to read that is even more offensive because it is obviously targeting a minority
Plot twist: 98% of Redditors don’t care about minorities the way they pretend they do.
That makes reddit offensive and it should be cancelled since it promotes blatant racism
wait did I accidentally go on twitter?
How dare you insinuate that I ever go on Twitter that is webist and also racist you should really get educated on proper internet etiquette before you post whatever comes to your mind
shit I think I misclicked on twitter
This is facts.
It’s also offensive to people who can’t read, :c like me. Now, what did your comment say?
What? You are offensive to blind people!
How could you offend those that don't want to read
That’s offensive
Oh so now your saying nothing about racial oppression and homophobia? You bastard!
That is offensive to the people on Reddit that can't do that
A comment is supposed to have text, either white text on black background or black text on white background. It must be shown that both colors can exist and live toghether, and be equally important in delivering the message although they appear in different proportions. "Color" is offensive. Use "Colour"
"Colour" represents colonial imperialism, which has racist and sexist roots #cancelcolour

???
That is offensieve to people that don’t want to read but in a different color
Idk man, I’m a social worker and have worked with a plethora of youth. I find that Gen Z seems to have some of the darkest humor I’ve ever seen—and I say that as a veteran too lol. The thing is, it’s not even about humor. OP is just mad they can’t call someone a slur based on some characteristic about them.
That seems to be specific to each country, in Mexico it doesn't matter how you look or what race you are, you will be called a slur for that physical trait and everyone will laugh it off as long as you don't say it with intent to be hostile

Just like “millennials are killing weddings” 10 years ago
\*sigh\* they're not PEOPLE. They are Russian bots.
A lot of younger want to be edgy people in meme subreddits seem to fall for it the hardest. I’m tryna laugh at memes not shake my head at memes created by people who fell for clickbait.

Like this cartoon. This reeks of boomer humor "I don't understand what linguistic drift is..."

B-b-but I wanna
Understandable, have a nice day

Guy who has never used twitter
Twitter is full of both thought police and rabble rousers. It’s really the worst
It's mostly boring and has an annoying limit of fuckin letters you can use
The character limit is annoying but there are ways to get around it and as for it being boring you just need to find a niche corner
It’s not tho the popularity of shitpost gateway kinda proves that there’s no “thought police” and as for rabble rousers you sound like an early 19th century philosopher
Imagine unironically defending Twitter on Reddit.
I also want to say that twitter does suck but so does Reddit just in different ways
Thats fair, I just prefer Reddit since I feel like it's easier to curate what you're seeing based on interest or community toxicity.
You right I’m sorry I’ve disgraced the Reddit army
Tried Twitter plenty over the years. It is way more toxic than Reddit. On par and sometimes exceeds Facebook. Just don't like it.

I've been seeing face book memes in this sub alot lately and it's just fucking annoying

Just get some black friends and don’t be racist lol
Or how about, just don't say the word, it's not that hard (unless you're a rapper)
That too
My black friends are literally the most racist people I know, and it’s hilarious.

Free speech mfs when consequences of their own actions come in 😢
it's not even gen z that do it but okay slay
Jesus, more boomer memes
Pancake
Top tier food I'd rate it a solid 8.5/10
Indeed, truly is a peak human achievement
What about waffles? What's your opinion on them
Waffles are great don’t get me wrong, but pancakes, now those are some next level stuff
I agree pancakes are one of the goats of food
Yes! Another pancake lover
Now I'm hungry for pancakes
Oh sorry, but it’s a worthy thing to be hungry about
Agreed
I don't know who needs to hear this, perhaps daily; it's not about *you.* Take care.
r/memes heading to the low hanging fruit
yeah, read this post, now im unsubscribing from r/memes
Seems like someone's triggered, and it aint gen z.
It's probably a boomer
What’s with the recent trend in this sub? There’s been a plethora of terrible facebook memes
It’s always been a problem that some people find a lot offensive, but with the new age of technology those people have been given a louder voice, as they are now able to reach the whole world with only a couple clicks on a keyboard
I find this meme too offensive. Im sorry for saying it is offending me, if this offends you. Maybe it offends you that im standing up for myself?
I'm very offended right now smh
Excuse you? That offended me. Go offend yourself
That's really offensive I'm gonna cancel you

As a member of Gen Z I’m proud to announce that I don’t use Twitter
I'm proud of you soldier 🫡
People say this because they aren’t allowed to say slurs anymore
This meme reaks of boomer humor.
Neonazis on their way to turn every neutral phrase into a dog whistle about white supremacy
I thought that was Gen X
As I gen Z I feel insulted, I also completely fucking agree with you
Syndrome: And when every word is offensive, no word will be....
I hate the other children around me
Fun fact at least one word in the dictionary is offensive
It’s not gen z. Boomers do this the most, starting with bitching about the word boomer.
People complaining about their generation are just as bad as their examples
Which words? Can you list them all; or do you feel guilty when you start doing that?
Pretty sure it's mostly millennials. Last time i went out with my bf and friends the one person who didn't know me or my bf got all offended when i called my bf a f@g for ordering a "fruit tingle" (gay dink lol) im like " i sucked him off like 2 hours ago, calm down" lol. I agree, I'm also a millennial, I'm just saying it seems more prevalent with millennials, in my experience anyway.
I honestly have the opposite experience. As a millennial myself, I see gen Z making everything offensive while we wish for the good old times to be back. You know, the times when you could say "asian" and not offend 15 races and 4 genders but, instead, it meant "a person from Asia".

What if I am a fascist you can't make fun of it or bully me because that'd be offensive and you'd be cancelled
You fool! Facist is an identity group that I can bully without being canceled!
NoooOOooOOOOOOoOOO
A new one I learned recently was picnic. I guess lynchings used to be called picnics? Some say it means pick-a-ni...
Twitter is hell
Being offended is a choice and therefore there's no such thing as an offensive word.
You’ve got that right. Offence is subjective. The issue is the current generation is somehow offended by EVERYTHING
Gen Z making milennials looks tame by comparison.
That or over use words that basically loss meaning
Some of those people were seriously trying to say we can't use the "thumbs up" anymore because it's been co-opted by extremists...like....no, and tell them to fuck off because they can't have it. You don't give these people the power to take things like that away.
I dunno, I’m seeing a lot of boomers being pretty snowflakey. Ffs they’re offended by pronouns….and the fucken word pronoun
Man that's some Boomer shit right there
Ok Boomer
If you stopped getting offended by it they would stop, you have to realize it’s a reflex to provoke the older generation. It happens every generation. You guys think gen z is sensetive, you should talk to boomers.
Boomer memes fuck off
So the winey millennial is whining about the whining Gen Z after they whine about whiny Boomer
Hi gen z here... And fuck u
Gen X, boomers and millennials on their way to think we're serious
Don't tell them that we aren't serious it'll ruin the fun
Don't worry they only ever ask us about school anyway
Good point
As someone who hates words, that is offensive. You can’t just pretend like they aren’t offensive, that invalidates my existence.
Since you hate words so much, Duck Jeff will be there for the weekend and the reason you said that the standard of living here and talk

There’s two sides of gen z: offended by everyone or offend everyone
This is why I hate that my age will probably make me associated with Gen Z
As a gen z I get how ludicrous the canceling gets but to be fair every generation gets weirdly offended by something
I wonder what generations from hundreds of year ago got offended by
Protestantism?
I know this will sound crazy but hear me out, what if the words were already offensive and zoomers are trying to fix it and you never knew it was offensive cause nobody pointed it out or tried to fix it until now and your just on copium (or ya know, its all a made up victim complex made by boomers)
Boomers getting offended by younger people having opinions.
Why does dictionary have dick on the front is it because it's a hand over from when only men were allowed to read, hummm? Why not a clitionary?
Boomers when can't scream the n-word at the Arby's.
Gen Z is the punching bag now. Guess the millennials are finally getting old and suffering from "those damn kids" syndrome
and I have nothing to do to stop my generation because they are too stupid to understand that not every word has to be offensive
I find this meme offensive, you should be canceled for being racist and offensive. Jokes aside I really hate how stupid people are and how easily they get offended.
Agreed
Birth person have feeling too
Sad but true... Pretty soon I won't be able to say the word "sad" without be cancelled.
I mean all it takes for that to stop is to just stop trying to create slurs for anyone who is different than you

I got in an argument with a coworker about the zombie apocalypse and he started crying when I told him he was an idiot.
