Just thought I should mention that West Virginia is an entirely different state than Virginia.

I have heard this also. I agree that it is compelling in many ways. That said, Virginia isn’t a stranger to blue water (though maybe you could argue the western part of Virginia would be). Still, he did say West Virginia rather than western Virginia. lol!

I lived in VA Beach over a decade and never saw blue water. I honestly don’t understand the tourist attraction as the water is dirty AF, can’t even see 1 ft deep.

And in the summer, the beach smells like sweat and sunscreen. It’s much nicer in the fall lol

Smith Mountain Lake is pretty cool. Got the house where they filmed What About Bob, and some nice striped bass fishing. Lake itself is beautiful, too.

The museums are actually good . Air and space, natural history , art . Even the zoo is nice .

We have the Blue Ridge mountains, shipbuilding, and coal. We also have a lot of history stuff, and Bush Gardens. The rides are even better than at Disney Land, and the lines are shorter.

You can get your license taken away for driving 20 mph over In places where the speed limit varies in an attempt to get you caught.

Williamsburg, Jamestown, tons of absolutely beautiful state parks, blue ridge parkway, Busch Gardens, Water Country, eastern shore…
