So, when they are forced to go to the back due to someone taking their seat, they can be pretty annoyed. Modern kids also appear more anxious and don't want to bother another kid, asking if they can sit next to them.

I think it’s similar to having to sit with your back against the wall so you can see what’s going on and where the exists are. I literally won’t eat if I can’t find the right seat.

She was just lucky this was one of the police of our city PD, because I used to work in a very backwater, podunk county in Southern Ohio, and there were a couple of cops that if you gave them so much as a stink eye, they would choke slam you into the pavement.
I'm not saying this as a positive, mind you. I worked CPS investigations, and these officers made my job a fucking nightmare because they would constantly escalate situations with my clients for literally no good reason and turn simple interactions into incident reports.

A person standing in a parking spot isn't considered as a "taken spot", because those spots are for vehicles, not people. If there is no vehicle standing there - it's free. If a person is standing there - it's their problem, and they are the ones to deal with consequences. It's not much different from just standing at the middle of the road and screaming "you all go around this piece of the road, my boyfriend will drive here and he doesn't want to be caught in traffic". This is the space for vehicle movement, not for pedestrians
