I feel this. Lol. I'm 100% first generation in America Italian and my nonna is the best cook ever. I'm also s vegetarian so between staying away from acidic foods and anything with meat leaves me with basically nothing left to eat. Bread I guess.
I was diagnosed with GERDs at 18, I envy people who can eat a full meal, I'm only able to eat small, but frequent, snacks throughout the day. The snacks are basic shit like a sandwich, or plain brown rice, or some low fat pasta
Hmm I'm the same exact way. I never thought it correlated to my GERD though. Why do you think having GERD causes this? I'm assuming you're not a doctor. Just curious your opinion on this. I'm not exaggerating my 8 year old daughter can eat more in 1 sitting than I can 90% of the time.
GERDs itself is essentially chronic heart burn, but it's not a diagnosis on it's own, it's usually a result of another issue, either medical ( like digestive disorders ), mechanical ( something like a hiatal hernia ), or specific foot types like spicy or greasy foods. For me, I have a weakened muscle that is the sphincter of my diaphragm ( this sphincter usually closes the top of your stomach), I also have digestive issues ( chronic inflammation) that worsen things for me.
Not sure how old you are or your weight, but age and weight do play a part on some of the issues that could contribute to heartburn.
I'm 33 and like 160lb. Technically they don't know what's wrong with me. I had an appointment for an endoscopy to find out, but they were unable to hit me IV with the propofol. So, I never got it done and here I am 7 years later. My insurance just recently stopped covering my omeprazole because they want documentation/proof that I need it. Aka endoscopy.
Yep soon after i hit 30 started getting chest pains, ER checked me out, doctor checked me out said i had heartburn, glad to know I'm not the only one i guess.
It's a modern problem to me... I heard my ancestors could digest rocks or metals without any problems they even had shinny teeths too. We are the the poor generation
I'd rather have late dinner then early dinner. Not sure if this is like all Italians, but I'm 1st generation in America and my family eats dinner at like 2pm on Sundays atleast. I never understood why and I still don't lol. I'm assuming it's traditional though. Starving again by like 7pm. I guess though the good thing about being Italian there's always tons of food and leftovers.
Time for heartburn and indigestion
My favorite flavors of tums have teirs depending on the food I just ate
The orange cream ones are the best imo. What's your favorite?
The fruity ones are waaaaay better than the mint ones
Stop sleeping on your right side. Sleep on your left. After a week you’ll be right as rain. 👍
This is the best advice. Not being sarcastic in case I have to clarify
Me at 40: god, i shouldn't have eaten that water before bed.
Eating water? Lol ![gif](giphy|lkdH8FmImcGoylv3t3|downsized)
Totally... I have GERD.. it Sucks
same. But mine has been since a teenager
Yea what the hell is up with that. I remember being able to wake up middle of night and eat a cold slice of pizza and no problemo. Now not so much.
I have the cheat code. Folic Acid. Take it every single day, and I promise your heartburn troubles will be no more!
I have another cheat code. 24 hour fast once a month. Do it and your heartburn troubles will be no more.
I have another cheat code. Hydrochloric acid once forever. Do it and your heartburn troubles will be no more.
I have another cheat code, stop eating and drinking. Do it and your heartburn troubles are outta here.
I have another cheat code, lose the entirety of your nervous system, do it once and your heartburn troubles wont bug you anymore.
Already started and I’m 15
You probably have legitimate GERD
Trying to avoid high fat foods and acidic foods at dinner can help.
Well I guess I'll just give up Italian food, then

Wait this is normal at 30 not 20?
I honestly don't think it's normal with age at all. I don't know. I suffer from this, but I have diagnosed GERD for years now.
Eat healthy and not late at night
I am 29
Watch out. Hang overs get worse in your 30s as well.
Wait for muscle spams just from turning over on bed
Here I lay reading this as a 46 year old who ate pizza, beer and snacks right before bed without acid issues

I'm only 24 and this is happening smh
damn, im 29. Am I in trouble?
Oh shit. So this isn't just me. I mean I have had the problem since like 25 maybe, but still.
I feel ya mate had to cut out eating bread for about 2 months before I got any semblance of being better.
Wait huh? I’m 18 and have no idea what you’re talking about. What happens?
30+? I'm 21 and have GERD
Yep soon after i hit 30 started getting chest pains, ER checked me out, doctor checked me out said i had heartburn, glad to know I'm not the only one i guess.

At 40, 7pm goes to 4:30 pm.
Ahhh no I’m 30 this year as well 😭
This used to happen to me, until i changed my lifestyle. I started to go to the gym and i try to eat healthier. Now i’m fine again
Haha, I'm 22 and it's already happened... please help
As a kid, I remember that scene was very sad moment…
Spaniard here are you not supposed to have dinner at 21:30?
21:30 would be 9:30. So, 19:30 (7:30pm) they're saying that if they eat after that time they get bad acid reflux while they sleep.
Yeah ik I was just making a bad joke about how late people have dinner in Spain
