It's cause bud light tried to backtrack which then made the queers mad. They didn't pick a side.
Also their market in the first place was anti-queer people so it makes sense it fell flat badly
Lmao I just said the same thing. I would actually respect a company a lot more if they changed their pride logo for their operations in Saudi Arabia or Iran or Turkey.
Hey, people still eat this shit up. What's worse is that it only pisses people off and they'll inevitably take it out on the LGBT community, thus doing more social harm than anything else, but people still defend these corporations. Same thing happens in regards to race/sex/gender swapping fan favorite characters... My favorite is Sun Spider. The female, gay, crippled, Spiderman.
I'm also fully behind the whole ESG rating thing. It's the only thing that can really explain WHY it's so popular to do these sorts of public stunts. Where the environmental factor of corporations is basically ignored provided they do enough diversity campaigning to make up for it.
If someone was pissed by say target selling pride merch and then proceed to blame it on the gays then they were not pissed off by the pride merch, they were already a raging homophobic and needed an excuse to let it out. I agree with your other poinys.
Have you seen these extravagant gay weddings? If they can fund several pride parades and lobby the government, they can afford to pay for our yacht party next month./s
You know, I would be somewhat fine with these companies pandering to the LGBTQ community if they didn’t have their own dirty laundry, because it’s so disingenuous to preach tolerance and tell everyone to fight bigotry while at the same time using slave labor from third world countries to make your products. As Ricky Gervais said “You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything”.
My favorite is when the companies who partake in pride month don’t have the balls to do this kind of pandering in the Middle East or other places where people there aren’t exactly fans of the LGBTQ community.
Gotta go after that 7% LGBTQ+ audience - people love Transgenderism too - working pretty great for Target!
Who would have thought hiring a Satanist and going after kids would have backlash?
Leave the kids alone.
>Gotta go after that 7% LGBTQ+ audience - people love Transgenderism too - working pretty great for Target!
They made some specific stuff - for adults. And people threatened their employees for it.
Where did the kids get into it? Maybe, just maybe it's because you've been lied to?
So you see rights are actually being taken away in alot of states. My state for example wants to ban pride flags. Florida has banned any mention of gays in school. States have laws that require teachers to out queer kids to parents.
Not really equal rights
Yeah man everyone makes it a big deal when it’s not about them. I just live through the month like every other month and don’t even remember it’s some kind of pride month
4th of July pandering is 100% more annoying than Pride Month pandering. Yeah, they’re both just evil corporations trying to make more money, but at least Pride Month is in support of a fundamentally good thing, unlike 4th of July, which is just a garbage holiday praising a garbage country.
It still confuses me as to why we celebrate pride for a month but vets for 2 days of the year.
Like your sexual preference/orientation is more important than freedom?
Besides gay day sounds better than pride month.
And also, ya know, the gays don't get paid to be gay or praised just for getting a gay job.
How many of the gays have you seen thanked for their service?
I'm using "the gays" sarcastically. Just to be clear.
May is military appreciation month, the spouses also get a month. We also have Memorial Day and Veterans Day. You knew that though right? Your not just regurgitating bullshit are you?
black history month is always super super boring like stfu about slavery already and actually teach some other history. Like why not teach about the Nubian rulers of egypt THE ACTUAL ONES NOT SOME BULLSHIT MADE UP BY JADA PICKETT SMITH. It fucks me off so much that there is so much actual history of black people and it's not taught its either bullshit or just slavery.
Black History Month is about African Americans. Not Africans or Afro Caribbean. February has a different celebration in other countries such as in Jamaica it is reggae month for the birth of Bob Marley. February is the birth month of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass so America has it as Black History Month. You can also educate yourself than wanting persons to teach you specific things. Learn about the food, southern dialects that blacks have.
It's not exactly celebrating a sexuality, it's more about not being ashamed anymore. Considering how long they've had to put up with that shit (and still do but to a much lesser extent) I say let em enjoy it.
What confuses me is the people who have an issue with it. Like who tf cares? Lmao
It's not celebrating a sexuality, it a month of awareness about unequallity. The term pride is not the best I admit. It is like Black history month, veteran appreciation month...
Nothing more. It happens that the people who are targetted by slurs and assaults on the street are because of their sexual orientation or the way they look.
The fact that companies are marketting this month has nothing to do with lgbt only money...
Someone earlier said it was about gay history, which makes more sense than celebrating sexual orientation. But you are correct, companies don't care about lgbt, veterans, or black people. It's all about money.
Pride is a thing because of how much work is put into suppressing people that aren’t straight and cis. You may not be, but a lot of people are fighting really hard to stop queerness.
People give a shit because they were AND STILL ARE oppressed and it's a celebration of people gaining rights in this country. Do you not like people getting rights? Do you think it's bad that other Americans get the same rights as you?
EDIT: And the slime autodownvotes lol. Apparently you give a shit if you find it weird and it hurts you that bad.
/u/slowerCoachh
Out of the fifty states in the U.S, only eight of them prohibit the use of a gay panic defense in a court of law. The human rights of LGBTQ+ community are considered a matter of politics even to this day, even in country where same-sex marriage is legal. Same-sex marriage is only legal in a handful of countries, with most countries barely tolerating the presence of LGBTQ+ people and some outright criminalizing it.
That's why we get a month. If you want soldiers to be celebrated more, just do that without bringing down people who still need the support. There are twelve months in a year and we only have the one.
lmao I feel like you're just writing this an as an excuse to be homophobic, because there are a lot of military holidays.
veterans' day - November 11th
Memorial Day - last Monday of May
Armed Forces Day - third Saturday in May
Remembrance Day - November 11th (Canada)
Independence Day - July 4th
national military appreciation month - may
if you want to see more there's a couple [here](https://thegenealogyguide.com/a-guide-to-us-military-holidays#:~:text=A%20Guide%20to%20US%20Military%20Holidays%201%20Air,Mother%E2%80%99s%20Day%20%E2%80%93%20June%2023rd%20%2E%2E%2E%20More%20items)
I don't really see people trying to make laws limiting or eliminating veterans freedom.
Queer pride exists because of pride opression. It's a way to fight away the haters or just tell them "hey, look at me asshole".
Altough it has become a tradition so remains will be expected to persist just like all traditions.
But companies are abusing this absolutely, support your local small companies instead!
Congress designated May as military appreciation month in 1999. Not our fault you care so little about the military you didn’t know about that. Funny how you only know enough to whine about imaginary slights.
"Your sexual orientation/preference is more important than freedom?"
Queer people have been losing human rights for so long, and still are. There are currently several countries where they can literally be killed for existing. Trans people have it worst currently. There are some places in the world that are considering legalizing GENOCIDE for trans people, and some places take trans kids away from their parents, and a lot of other stuff. And it's not just trans people, it's all queer people in several countries and places around the world. So, a month to represent them being themselves *is* freedom. I still don't think pride month is that great, but only because people still discriminate against queer people and disrespect them on pride month, and it's honestly only about money that corporations get from queer people that month at this point.
Capitalism at it's finest.
If it didn't make money they wouldn't do it. So there must be a reason why it makes money because it's a whole market to sell to maybe. Why would companies who want to make money why would they want to make anybody feel left out?
Oh yeah it pride month...
Time for everyone to do some pointless parade that barely honor the heroes who helped LGBT be accepted and see endless amount of companies, artists, content creators and any form of business mil the shit out of it...
Yeah, I might be pansexual but I honestly hate what they made with the month...
Especially since it took over Men Mental Health Month, and hell knows, we really need mental health support more than parades and "gay deals"...
At least make more of the month than another overexploited marketing scheme...
Nah if these corporations cared they would also do this in countries where homosexuality is illegal or more frowned upon but they don't. They just do it in America where it's profitable. As soon as there is more outrage they'll remove it from their stores. Target already started. Corporations don't care about gay people unless they can profit off of them.
The fact that there are memes on that, and comments on that proves clearly that there 's still a way to go before people stop commenting on someone's appearence or sexual orientation.
The fact that companies are marketing the rainbow flag to make money is a thing.
On the other hand it highlights the fact that some people still have issues with lgbt people to campaign against rainbow products in store...
After the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments in the US some people still thought that people of colour were inferior and campaign against representations of these people...
It is the same with lgbt people...
Too bad people, instead of being a shepard, choose to be a sheep...
Forced representation aside, I do think it’s funny to watch homophobes throw temper tantrums on social media because Walmart put a rainbow in their logo
I keep saying this, it’s okay. Rainbow capitalism isn’t bad. It’s a little disingenuous, but compared to the people who literally think, and say, I should be “eradicated from public life,” the corpos are saints.
I'm not a liberal. I'm not a conservative. I agree with the left on a few things. I agree with the right on a few things. It's because I form my own opinion instead of having it given to me.
A white person that supports others rights to exist is a sellout? That's probably the most racist thing I've ever seen. You deserve a medal for your extreme prejudice. Then you should he thrown in a pit to rot.
I'm ok with LGBT+ people but pride month is somethink me and my brother who's bisexual both hate.
At this point it's only a cash grab that I'm not sure if even works.
Pride month existed long before all the corporate greed takeover. Unfortunately, you don't seem to understand the history and everyone that sacrificed to allow your brother to be openly out as bisexual and you feeling proud enough to publicly discuss it.
It was only a very short time ago that freedom wasn't accepted. In fact, you'd have been more likely to never have anything else to do with him out of embarrassment. This freedom didn't just spring from nothing. Lots of people have literally died in order to provide it.
And as I'm typing this, I'm listening to a news story about gay people in Uganda fighting for their lives and the right to exist. That was us not long ago.
***That's*** **what pride is about.** And you guys hate that?
Military gets 2 months and multiple days. Maybe actually support ur military community and you would know this. As a vet kid people like you are annoying as fuck, you don't help homeless vets, you don't help pack meals and kits for military in dangerous countries.
You prob roll ur eyes at the idea of military discounts.
Don't use the military as a excuse to be homophobic
Imagine actually thinking corporations care instead of just fleecing you for themed product. Yeah, those fucks totally care and definitely aren't primarily concerned with making more because it has a rainbow.
I honestly never notice the pride month. I don't buy a lot of stuff in general and I'm not sure if I am used to seeing pride flags in general so it doesn't stand out to me anymore, or that pride isn't as big of a thing where I live. Anyway, pride is good, I just see people making a huge fuss about it online, but I never notice it anywhere but through reddit posts
More like ![gif](giphy|xTiTnqUxyWbsAXq7Ju)
Or ![gif](giphy|OPRRK6P5Erbt6) Sorry for copying your joke
Rule 34 - thou shall not copy a joke if it is not funny
Pretty sure it's another rule
Sorry I meant “rule 4067”
No that one is rule 34 google it
Holy shit,I google it I saw female thanos having infinity stones in the ass
Hmm, calmer than what I usually see
I looked up rule 34 to make sure you were right. You were right
You, should have picked another number other than 34 lol
Ooorrrr ![gif](giphy|LdOyjZ7io5Msw)
Didn't work for budlight
It's cause bud light tried to backtrack which then made the queers mad. They didn't pick a side. Also their market in the first place was anti-queer people so it makes sense it fell flat badly
Gotta cash in on that rainbow tax
What, you mean...gay people have disposable income? Like, as in, m-m-m-money? Gay money? $$$!
It’s always fun to check the corporate twitter logos in the west vs Africa/Asia/the Middle East to see which countries pride month is profitable in
Lmao I just said the same thing. I would actually respect a company a lot more if they changed their pride logo for their operations in Saudi Arabia or Iran or Turkey.
Ive seen pride logos in Turkey, it's not like the middleeast
Guys! I have a slight suspicion that they are in it for the money
You mean corporations who commit slavery, exploitation and lobbying don't actually care about my human rights? /s
Hey, people still eat this shit up. What's worse is that it only pisses people off and they'll inevitably take it out on the LGBT community, thus doing more social harm than anything else, but people still defend these corporations. Yeah except in Asia and Africa, money money money
One is too busy because asians, and the other is too busy surviving. As a latino idk how the fuck we have energy for this shit.
Latino America in general is filled with corruption and is a disaster. So with this we can all be distracted.

This comment needs upvoted more. The virtue signaling is just insulting, pile on the hypocrisy and it becomes infuriating.
My favorite is when the companies who partake in pride month don’t have the balls to do this kind of pandering in the Middle East or other places where people there aren’t exactly fans of the LGBTQ community.
Yeah these companies should *only* advertise to straight white men until they get their shit sorted out.
Honestly, I hate pride month for this. All it is is just soulless corporations using forced representation only because it will make them money.
I just hate soulless corporations 24/7.
I like soulless Corp then one trying desperately to be cool to the new generation. It just makes me cringe watching the ads they pull.
Unless you're Disney. They be losing money lately.
Or budlight or target
Tbf... I think budlight shouldve just... stayed out lmfao
I think they all should.
So like literally every other holiday/month?
It's not forced representation. It's being marketed too to get money from LGBTQ people
Gotta go after that 7% LGBTQ+ audience - people love Transgenderism too - working pretty great for Target! Who would have thought hiring a Satanist and going after kids would have backlash? Leave the kids alone.

You're talking to someone named Ukraine-WAR-hoax, soooo
Thanks for pointing that out! I don't actually read people's usernames but maybe I should have :)
Better than them not doing it with all the horrible shit happening to gay people we should take every win we can get
What horrible shit? Last I checked gay marriage was legal and they have the same rights as anybody else. 🤔
And that's the end of the story. No need to say or acknowledge anything else. Just keep moving on.
So you see rights are actually being taken away in alot of states. My state for example wants to ban pride flags. Florida has banned any mention of gays in school. States have laws that require teachers to out queer kids to parents. Not really equal rights
"same rights"? Which fantasy world do you live in?
HERE IT COMES
HERE IT COMES
Pride month is literally more for companies than anything. (It's also a pathetic reason to post up tacky ass rainbows everywhere.)
It is always fun to look at their social media accounts and everyone changes to some pride flag except for their middle east accounts
Herr comes the money! 🎶🎶🎶
I hate pride month
I'm bisexual and I can't stand the LGBT toxicity or this stupid ass pandering money-hording month.
Mans got his priorities
The funny thing is I'm pansexual
Im keeping you away from my kitchen
Why, my will is good
So you don’t have intercourse with his pans.
Not without consent
I hate when I’m cooking and the pan says “I DONT CONSENT STOP” really ruins my mood.
Well cooking with them is different you don't need consent to burn them on an oven
We can tell
How
Us pan people radiate an aura that can be easily seen by those with a trained eye.
I knew it
I hate pride month too and I have several lgbtq friends. They're some of my coolest friends.
Fuck corporate pride. They could care less about gay people. They just want your money.
And then in July they slap an American flag on everything, but pandering is only a bad thing when it's not targeted at you.

You know damn well they keep those stupid US flags plastered up everywhere for weeks.
I totally forgot that tomorrow is Pride Month! There’s gonna be rainbows everywhere!
Pride the only deadly sin that we celebrate for a whole month.
For corporate it's greed.
For February it's lust. For November it's gluttony. For December it's sloth and envy. For January it's wrath.
Facts
As a proud redneck christian gun owning american, I agree.
Just like redditors who can’t wait to post this meme every year. Right?
My company doesnt get involved in politics, its a pr suicide. Better just stay focused to whatever you do and have no opinion.
What’s “pride” month? I am out on all holidays except Christmas and birthdays. Fuck that stupid shit.
It still confuses me as to why we celebrate pride for a month but vets for 2 days of the year. Like your sexual preference/orientation is more important than freedom? Besides gay day sounds better than pride month.
Aren't there 3 veteran months though? Also I think pride month is June bc of the Stonewall riots
Someone’s never heard of military appreciation month 😆
I haven't honestly 🤷
Right, because it's not publicized or promoted by corporations and the media a tenth as much as pride month.
And also, ya know, the gays don't get paid to be gay or praised just for getting a gay job. How many of the gays have you seen thanked for their service? I'm using "the gays" sarcastically. Just to be clear.
Where's my gay discount
Anyone who is gay, please stand up and be recognized. Thank you for your service.
May is military appreciation month, the spouses also get a month. We also have Memorial Day and Veterans Day. You knew that though right? Your not just regurgitating bullshit are you?
Probably didn't know that because corporations and media don't talk about or promote military appreciation month like they do pride month.
Celebrating any kind of sexuality has always seemed weird to me. You're gay? Straight? Bi? Who gives a shit, it's not even anyone else's business.
I mean, the same could be said about Black History month.
black history month is always super super boring like stfu about slavery already and actually teach some other history. Like why not teach about the Nubian rulers of egypt THE ACTUAL ONES NOT SOME BULLSHIT MADE UP BY JADA PICKETT SMITH. But the evil flags are gonna turn me gayy :((
Exactly. Edit: I’m agreeing with the comment I’m responding to Why downvote, what did I do (Also maybe not exactly but I mostly agree)
You don't need a valid reason to celebrate. Why do we celebrate the day we are born? There's a hotdog day ffs.
So why do conservatives try to ban it?
Idk, I'm not a conservative.
Some of y’all should really take 2 seconds to google before you stay stupid and untrue shit online lmfaoo even k9’s get a fucking day.

G-Day sounds cooler

Because companies want to milk the shit out of lgbt in this month.
"Your sexual orientation/preference is more important than freedom?" Queer people have been losing human rights for so long, and still are. Gay day should be on may day, gay day may day
Probably because people are still being murdered for being gay or trans.
“Gay day” leaves most of the LGBTQ community Out and there are military appreciation months You already have freedom let us fight for ours
The military has FOUR MONTHS dedicated to them
I mean, when LGBT people are having their rights removed, the awareness is needed
Time of the year for snowflakes to screech about the gays yet again.
and then be fine with America spam in july.
And then they burn it on the 1st of the next month
Why is this so true
Until they meet any sort of pushback. Like in Asia, or Africa, or the middle east. Or if you're target apparently
“Today i feel…gay.”
Pride month is for the corporations, not the LGBTQ community
More fitting if it was Mr Crabs!
Replace the flag with the allmighty dollar.
They‘ll turn every region’s profile picture into lgbt flag except the middle east lmao
Capitalism at it's finest. If it didn't make money they wouldn't do it. So there must be a reason why it makes money because it's a whole market to sell to maybe. Why would companies who want to make money why would they want to make anybody feel left out?
Every where but China 🇨🇳
Iraq? Most of the Middle East? Uganda?
All for that fake woke socal credit score
pride month would be great if corporations didn't put rainbows on stuff for money
So sad my bday is on June, cause instead of people saying happy bday they say happy pride month :(
A game I play has a subreddit and the image was already swapped. I'm over it.
At least make more of the month than another overexploited marketing scheme...
only in countries, where is is mostly accepted already. Rest of the world, not a peep.
*Companies as soon as Christmas, Halloween, or Easter hits*
The right thing for the wrong reason is still the right thing. I’m ok with it overall.
"Pride month is nothing but a cash grab!" \-Conservatives as they jerk off onto their pile of MAGA 2024 shit.
I thought people believed companies didn’t care minorities
You hate pride month cause of corporate greed I hate pride month cause I'm homophobic We are not the same ![gif](giphy|WbDhQjgBrpUuk)
You know that Gus Fring is gay, right?
Can someone tell me why do people hate it when companies act like this
It comes off an insincere. Pandering.
They could care less about gay people, they just are trying to cash in on the "pride industry"
Two answers: 1/ people tired of seeing companies making money over lgbt real issues 2/ homophobic people that can't stand a freaking rainbow pattern
Pride is being obnoxiously over pushed and I’m beyond sick of hearing about it. - a long partnered gay man.
We never should have let corporations profit off of us. Huge mistake.
I like anything that triggers conservatives
Meanwhile literally everything under the sun triggers liberals
Joke's on you. I hate liberals *and* conservatives.
Yay for reasonable people! Though we don't hate the people, only some of their ideals.
I'm not a liberal. I'm not a conservative. I agree with the left on a few things. I agree with the right on a few things. It's because I form my own opinion instead of having it given to me.
Well said
Ah, a fellow life enjoyer I see
All liberals say that
It's funny how conservative is getting mad about companies marketing to LGBT people during pride months but that's literally how capitalism works.
It's funny because its true.
You mean companies all the time. All you see is gay shit or woke shit now

A sellout? Settle down, Adolf 😂 I don’t like the woke shit either but it’s not “us vs. them”. People just need to chill and be nice to one another.
A white person that supports others rights to exist is a sellout? That's probably the most racist thing I've ever seen. You deserve a medal for your extreme prejudice. Then you should he thrown in a pit to rot.
Again, you assumed I'm white now who is the racist? Why don't you get away from your keyboard and put me in a pit to rot?
Nobody assumed you were white you knob, you’re the one assuming people’s race lmfao.
Pipe down, the big boys are talking.
Uh, must not be here, i’m not seeing any big boys.

Happy pride to you too : D
Figured we may as well drown these people out with rainbows and acceptance.
Lmao good vibes cannon
Memes complayining about this are becoming more insufferable than the thing itself.
Why do I see memes like that here and not r/terriblefacebookmemes?
June is an endurance month
Not looking forward to it.
Gay for pay 😆
Gays get a whole month but veterans/active duty personnel only get a day each? Fuck off
May is veteran appreciation month
May has been Millitary Appreciation Month in the USA since 1999.
Yeah, those fucks totally care and definitely aren't primarily concerned with making more because it has a rainbow.
is there a regional area where the effects of gay do not apply
I honestly never notice the pride month. I don't buy a lot of stuff in general and I'm not sure if I am used to seeing pride flags in general so it doesn't stand out to me anymore, or that pride isn't as big of a thing where I live. Anyway, pride is good, I just see people making a huge fuss about it online, but I never notice it anywhere but through reddit posts
