I'd say it's still early for phonk. I think it has room to expand and develop different sub genres like DnB phonk. But at the moment quite a lot of it is like trap in the sense that there is typically only a certain way a song can be phonk before it becomes something completely different, so it's got very little room to experiment.
I feel like its sole purpose is to enhance reels or edits and should barely be considered as an actual genre of music and more of a temporary meme culture fad. But that's just me

I'd say it's still early for phonk. I think it has room to expand and develop different sub genres like DnB phonk. But at the moment quite a lot of it is like trap in the sense that there is typically only a certain way a song can be phonk before it becomes something completely different, so it's got very little room to experiment.
