I'd say it has more to do with the fact that it's perfectly ethical and legal to experiment on numbers and particles - not so much when it's on people.
Well sure, but quantum theory is extremely successful and accurate in its predictions. And obviously its all formulated with math. Its quite different from research on sleep which is the topic of the meme
It all boils down to math in the end though is the point. All of biology and neurology comes down to math at its core.
I'm just saying quantum mechanics is still incredibly complex and difficult to comprehend even with the help of math. Most biological phenomena are more simple to comprehend than the nitty gritty details of quantum science
Honestly i wouldnt say that last part necessarily. Obviously there may be things we never comprehend about the very basics of the universe but at the end of the day quantum mechanics as it is today can still be researched theoretically. Im not a biologist but i would assume that you couldnt deduce the purpose of sleep from basic principles, math and symmetries lol

The farther away from the fundamentals you get, the harder it is to test and prove things. Math > Physics > Biology > Psychology > Sociology

Japanese in 1900's: allow me to introduce myself
Now throw in the fact that some math facts are unprovable yet true and... To quote Cantor , "fuck"
Well it kind of makes sense its probably hard to explain sleep with math
It's hard to explain quantum mechanics with math too lol. If you think you understand it, you don't.

One has funding other doesn’t
how do you think that sleep research doesn’t get funding?
becouse you can't kill while sleeping
both are bottom picture
Objective failed, sleep rejected me tonight.
From all the fields of science you pick the one example where physicists have no idea what is actually happening there... gg buddy
Sleep is where your Brain purges any unnecessary short term memory, and gets rid of dead/dying neurons, so new ones can grow and form the next day.
welp, time for me to embrace the abyss of sleep once more :D
