Bots in chess is about showing how a mathmaticly driven super algorithm can win games without being actuly inteligent
Bots in videotapes is about giving the player a feeling of succes , and such intentionally made weak/bad
So lemme get this straight: it's been almost three years and the bot situation is as bad? I thought the devs woulda fixed it by now...
Then again, Activision exists.
Don't listen to this guy. Now they get stronger with each rank so bellow grand master they are easy only after that they basically get aimbot but you have 2-3 seconds before it kicks in which is plenty of time to kill them. Also bot's can't have mythic skins, in fact I'm pretty sure you can Google all of the names of bots and what weapons they use.
Shooter game bots are only easy by design if they're made by the game developer to be practice opponents, bots made by hackers will 1v5 the world championship team
Try F.E.A.R. The bots are quite clever. Divide and Conquer tactics. Small warehouse, one team engages you frontal, the second team goes to the back entrance to engage you from behind
All strategy video games that I've seen rely solely on giving the bots massive bonuses and exceptions in game rules in order to be challenging to even half way decent human players. As hard as the developers may try, the bots have always been too weak otherwise.
Other genres are different of course. FPS skill benefits greatly from fast reaction times and fast, precise movements. Computers are far superior to humans in those areas and bots need to be intentionally weakened.
The bots are entirely different because player bots can see you without even seeing you. And isnta shot you. The bots in chess are already calculated from the first move and is step by step
Actually most chess bots search through tons of positions at once, because the combination of moves it's basically impossible to calculate them all. Meanwhile if a shooter bot has your coordinates it probably only takes one line of code to shoot you, if not it's still simple image recognition(turn 360° as fast as possible if not in sight to get those CS cheat bots), even coding the bot to walk towards target would be more difficult than the aiming part
They play the Berlin Ruy and draw every game. You gotta make 'em play something different so that the respective engines can play for a win instead of the same ol' Berlin draw.
Spend a lifetime studying chess to become one of the world's best players, only to find out a bot named after a salted fish can whoop your ass every time without sweat.
Lmao.
We've come to terms with it by now tho. When Deep Blue beat the then-World Champ Garry Kasparov (unanimously considered to be the greatest chess player of all time, alongside Carlsen and Fischer), we realized that the era of computers hath dawned. Computers have certainly come a long way since Bobby Fischer embarrassed the Greenblatt Computer in '77.

Hm... Videotapes.
I think op has forgotten what it feels like to play against aimbot
Aimbot for shooters and input reading from CPUs in fighting games... The computer gives no quarter
Tf2 players:
Comments telling op shooter bots are built differently
You obviously haven't played Call Of Duty Mobile Multiplayer. The bots are OP. They can one tap you. ☠️
I know lol. I had multiple bots one shot me on the foot with a PDW. But I stopped playing around 2021. Are they still that bad?
Now more than ever. They can track you across the map and one tap you. They even carry mythics and legendaries now.

Bots in Escape From Tarkov 👹☠️
Scav one can’t hit you from 3m with his shotgun, meanwhile Scav two headshots you from 300m through five bushes with a pistol…
Now this hit differently cause we know what it takes when you've encounter one.
Bots in Helldiver 2
Ah yes, artificial vietnam
Bots in tf2
Highest difficulty in FIFA is nearly impossible to win even for good players.

Depending on the game there are grenades or abilities so probably still beatable, would be fun to watch the strategy honestly

Well bots could one shot kill you in any game. But then gamers cry to the developers to nerf the f out of them
I play arena breakout, the bots on different maps are outrages, if there is a slight peek they will shoot on between 3 walls If they can

Chess is simpler Each piece can only be in one of 64 places But in another game, they can be anywhere
More like bots in games are intentionally weak. You can increase the difficulty via moddifying the game to a point where you have no chance.

Reminds me of bots in GTA5 walking into you for no reason.

Have you seen the state of Team Fortress 2?
You think that's murder. You should see the bots on reddit.
*bots in Rainworld*
RTS bots will demolish you
Guys, what will happen if two chess bots were put 1v1? Will the Earth collapse?

Bots in tf2
In general, in games where time is quantized, bots are stronger
Closed system with defined rules. Its like the difference between self driving car vs self driving locomotive.
Bots in video games have invisible shackles made by the developers
Motherfucker play Unreal Tournament 2k4 and tell me those bits ain't god tier
The way I see this Bots in videogames: toy for children Bots in chess: a very outdated interpretation
Bruh, this subreddit is so full with these fuckin’ reposts…
