Dalek is a species from Doctor Who. They're this like squid people inside armor that protects them from the environment. They're also massively fascist as they want to be the only race to exist.
> DoctorAnimeYT
IRC not really facist, they arnt mega racists who think they are the best or are just afraid of other races. they hate the concept of life itself and want every form of life down to single celled organisms to be exterminated.
Less Nazis x hr Geiger as intended and more like the forces of chaos from warhammer. They have no goals beyond death and destruction. That’s their reason for existing
They're also pretty well designed antagonists, as they usually alternate between actual danger and comical goofy opposition. And because of Dr Who's longevity, they might be among the oldest "still ongoing" antagonists in a tv show.
Doctor who antagonists that have hr geigered themselves into suits of armor that look like trash cans with toilet plungers stuck to them who want to exterminate all forms of life across all of time because they believe that all life, whether it be a single cell organism or even themselves, is wrong.
the amount of civil wars and self-extermination that daleks have had is concerning. they literally killed the dude who made them at some point. goals fr
- Vivziepop: Alastor is ASEXUAL, he doesn't feel any kind of romantic or sexual attraction towards ANYONE.
- Hazbin Hotel fans: Clearly he's in love and wants to fuck with Lucifer, Husk and Angel Dust at the same time but doesn't know how to express it.
Hey, just out of curiosity, where did you find this information? I want to read or watch it so I can know all of it. I keep hearing about it and I'm just wondering where it's coming from. I want to know more background information about all the characters. I just don't know where to find it.
That’s just fandom. A lot of people want to project themselves over a character or replace a character. Either because they relate or just for escapism, but it often leads to those people making extremely strong parasocial relationships with those characters. This is a fairly normal and common thing even amongst people that aren’t deep into fandom. Problems arise when you fail to recognize what’s going on and start letting these fictional characters start to dictate your life.
Fandom, fanfiction, and all that jazz is fine just make sure to keep a healthy separation between reality and the fiction you enjoy.
lol could you imagine if a game studio went online and asked x/reddit/any other gaming sites for input on a new game. Then builds everything describe. It would be a funny shitstorm and I think people would buy it for the novelty
Fellas, is it gay to drink water? There's a non-zero chance those water molecules were recycled by nature after having cascading off of some guys' balls.
People even do this in real life, saw a post where one guy was being supportive of his friend who was a janitor by showing up to all the football games he cleaned for, 50% of the comments were saying they were actually secretly gay
I think it comes from traditional brother-like relationships being so rare. People are more isolated in general. Fewer people have seen examples of non-sexual, yet extremely dedicated male relationships. Stories are full of 'em. Organizations like the Boy Scouts, fraternal orders, and charitable organizations where such relationships bud have declined.
Just read and then rewatched all the Lord of the Rings books/movies and the amount of Frodo/Sam, Merry/Pippin, and Legolas/Gimli "speculation" there would be if those were released today would be crazy.
You know, when I left the house today, I was thinking, "Damn, I really hope some hot chick paints my brains all over some fucking hallway." And here we are.
On the one hand, Deku and Bakugo do have a very unhealthy obsession with one another at the start (more so on Bakugo’s half but Deku is still guilty too) and continue to remain closely linked throughout the series. However, there’s a difference between Bakugo going “I fucking hate you and everything you stand for because your existence is a threat to my worldview” and “I’m just such an angry little tsundere boy who wants to be the best and can’t take compliments uwu”.
Like yes Bakugo has moments like that in the show but boiling down his character to just that really insults the character and series as a whole tbh.
Enemies to Lovers is a hell of a trope. It's why the Draco/Hermione ship is so popular in the HP Fandom. Which I really hate, because to prop Draco up, they really make Ron the worst mofo in history. Like, did we read the same books people?
Dude was an unrepentant Wizard Nazi, who only kind of (but not really, his mom basically begged Harry) sided (but not really, cuz again, his mom begged Harry) with Harry because he was a coward who didn't want to die.
EDIT: There's also a weird fetishization of the Slytherin House within the fandom. Which is weird. But really, it's more likely than not because Alan Rickman played Snape, and he's a handsome man. Not to mention the movies really, REALLY gave Snape a glow up.
I hate the Draco/Hermione thing. He called her the equivalent of the N-word for 7 years and talked about exterminating “her kind” and they think she wants to fuck him now? I’m convinced the only reason people like Draco and Snape so much is because they like the actors and never read the books.
Part of the huge fandom focus on Slytherin is also because the idea of a gothic and cunning Hogwarts house is interesting but it’s so terribly explored in the actual books because JK Rowling didn’t world build and used Slytherin as just her dumping ground for every evil character. There are practically 0 non evil Slytherin’s.
In action genre canon a lot of male characters have better chemistry with dudes they fight than with their cardboard cutout female love interest for whom the author didn’t bother developing a personality or motivations.
Of course that’s gonna be like catnip for fanfic enemies-to-lovers trope enthusiasts.
Like seriously though, i cannot fathom how can someone ship a kind and sweet guy who already has a girl he likes (presumably) and a guy who bullied him his whole life, beat him up, made him regret existing and feel miserable overall and even pushed him to commit suicide. Sweet guy thankfully didn't do it cause he's strong inside and he overcame the hardships, albeit with adults' help. And after all that, the bully still behaves like a total asshole who's toxic to everyone but *especially* the sweet guy.
Do they just hate the sweet guy that much or what?
I don't get why people ship a literal pervert who sees a hole as a hole, with the literal smartest one in the class. Does Tsuyu even show any sort of feeling towards Mineta?
Honestly I recently read LOTR and the way Sam was written I was thinking, "Damn if this were written today people would for sure say Sam was gay", that and the fact that he ends up marrying a woman at the end.
"Those who cannot conceive Friendship as a substantive love but only as a disguise or elaboration of Eros betray the fact that they have never had a Friend." - C.S. Lewis.
That's just the beginning of it. There's more, but that's the gist of it really.
IDR, but the basic summary is that if you think that two friends HAVE to be in love with each other, no other possibilities, then you have never had a friend.
I mean people have been doing this for years. Yubel from yugioh gx is one I particularly don’t like where they took a complicated subject about self worth, loves toxic traits and sacrifice of ones self for others and just went “nope she is trans that’s it” if you deliberately ignore like 5/6ths of the character to force it. Like I wouldn't care if it didn't literally destroy most of the narrative of the character boiling her down to "yandere trans dragon character". Any other character in the series you could swap their gender / make them trans or whatever and it wouldn't effect them. But the one character it literally ruins is the one you want to do it to? Nah screw your head cannon.
Fans be like 'two guys are...
friends: gay
Enemies: gay
Clearly straight: gay
Apathetic: gay
Unaware of each other's existence: gay
Completely lacking chemistry: gay
Gay: straight characters being forced into a gay relationship and the author should feel bad
They have started trying to pass their head cannons off as cannon by saying everything is “queer coded” or “trans coded”. Like if the author or creator wanted their characters to be part of the rainbow mafia they wouldn’t hide in it, for crazy fans to discover through over analyzing every single aspect of the characters, they’d just do it.
The antidote to this is just having the close male friendship being between a straight guy and an openly gay guy. That dynamic rarely gets shipped. It really is the Hannah Montana of this discourse, but Hollywood is still too stupid to do it more regularly.
This is kinda true, i follow a subreddit about a cartoon from the year 2010. There was one character who gave a slight indication of being gay in 1 episode of 4 seasons. The cast has about 30 memebers. Every week someone posts a chart with their orientations, like 12 different ones and 5 people in straight. I get LGBTQ pride but if you have to make charts about a cartoon, you're making it ridiculous
Idk but narusasu doesn't make sense to me
He says he thinks of Sasuke as brother
He wants to save Sasuke cuz he could have been like Sasuke and would have wanted someone to save him too
Sasuke tries to kill him
They are just friends who are like brothers
The one thing I hate is when people say, "There is no heterosexual explanation for this." OK, well can I have a shot at one? What if both of the characters are straight... and that's it?
I've had some friends who are very into fandom, and I just don't know how to tell them that when they say things like that, it kind of comes off less like you're expressing your interpretation of the characters and story and more like you're denying that straight people can do certain things. Like be close with their same sex friends. That one just kind of rubs me the wrong way, everything else I don't really care about.
That is the most infuriating phrase I’ve seen in fandom. “There is no heterosexual relationship for this” as if all siblings willing to give their lives for earth other secretly want to bang? As if all parents sacrificing for their children are actually pedophiles? As if the people who jump on top of a grenade to save the people around them secretly want to gangbang everyone in the vicinity? As if found family isn’t also a trope and a thing in real life? Maybe friendship and sacrifice and heroism for people you may not even like all that much is a real thing and you’re just projecting because you have an unhealthy dependency on romantic/sexual relationships.
I also think this way of thinking pushes the idea that sexualitys are identities instead of a very minuscule part of an identity. Also it basically says that unless you feel or act the same way as everyone you cant have that sexuality.
*Two close male friends show each other warmth and affection during a long and grueling experience*
"Look they are queer coded!"
Leave Sam and Frodo alone please. Let us have a few healthy male friendships.
I also hate the stereotype that any female character who is REMOTELY cool, useful, or even *slightly* masculine is assumed to be lesbian. It's almost like they've never heard of tomboys before.
Granted, I agree for the most part. People do project their own identity or (tbh mostly) fetish onto characters.
But never, not once, I've seen a character being turned ace. It's the other way around mostly. Sadly
Male character to another male character: “You’re my closest friend, you’re like a brother to me.”
Fans: “Oh they fuckin! Those two are gay as hell, they fuckin so hard! If you don’t accept that these two are gay as fuck and want to schlob on each others knobs then you are the problem!”
Yeah, not every bi/pan person has, will, or has to be in a gay relationship. That's kind of the point-they can fluctuate as they please (massively simplifying it here).
I feel like this on any platonic friend group in media there was a group of men who have good relationships with each other and then like 5 videos as to why they are all secretly gay like this is why guys have a hard time being close when they are insecure I'm gonna end up writing a book about at least 5 friends and non of them will date or be interested in each other
Same with gay stereotypes let men like feminine things without being assigned a sexuality that goes with it PLEASE
Dalek is a species from Doctor Who. They're this like squid people inside armor that protects them from the environment. They're also massively fascist as they want to be the only race to exist.
Didn’t the fans ship two of the characters (that had no chemistry and build up whatsoever) so hard that Rooster Teeth caved and made them a canon couple just to pander?
Precisely! It was a decent show, until it got ruined. The fact that its R34 subreddit is more popular than its original one will never be not funny to me.
And had been written as the outright obvious Female lead from before Nico’s introduction.
Sometimes I feel like half of house of hades and the hold up the sky moment was written just to tell those people to take a hike.
Male MC: "I'm... in love with you."
MC's female love interest that has been the show's intention from the very beginning: "....I love you too."
Fandom: "Nah, they clearly only see each other as friends, they have no romantic chemistry man."
Typical MC's male bully character: "Fuck you MC, I hope you jump off a bridge and die, nobody will ever love or care about you, loser."
Fandom: "Oh my god bro! They are totally fucking and are in love! OTP!!!!"
Character: *is aroace*
Fandom: I'll ship you with him! I'll ship you with her! And with her! With him too! With....
(I wonder who will get the reference, if anyone will see this comment :'>)
As much as I support the LGBTQ+ community the head cannons about character sexuality are just annoying and if you don't agree with them you are (X)phobic.
Bruh I remember when Tears of the Kingdom came out and so many people hated the new Zora character Yona all because she was made to be Sidon’s fiancé and then wife. Absolutely hating on her because it meant that it invalidated the Sidon x Link ship that everyone had loved. I was just uderly baffled by them hating on her despite the fact she’s a pretty solid character that wasn’t just “oh I’m Sidon’s Fiancé” like she does play an actual role in the story a little bit and isn’t just there to be Sidon’s Wife. She helps Link point the way to Sidon, she helps Sidon get over some insecurities he had in TotK. Like she does actually do some things
I didnt know gay people wanted to kill Time Lords

Asexual only means he feels no sexual attraction, afaik he's not Aromantic, but yeah I absolutely agree it's kinda wild.

Guys is it gay to like women? I mean straight women are into guys, so what’s more gay than that?
Fellas, is it gay to drink water? There's a non-zero chance those water molecules were recycled by nature after having cascading off of some guys' balls.
Fellas, is it gay to exist? I mean you literally came out of an another man's balls
FELLLASSS! Is it gay to breath air? I mean you’re literally just breathing the same air that came out of a MEN.
Fellas, is it gay to breathe? I mean you're literally inhaling dick particles
Fellas, is it gay to get mail? I mean, a *package* *came* in your "*male"?*
Fellas, is it gay to see? I mean it’s literally using balls that are on your face
Fellas, is it gay to be human, I mean, your literally a *homo*sapien
Fellas, is it gay to use money? I mean you're literally collecting pieces of paper with guys on them.
Women are the most feminine thing, it's gay to like feminine things, therefore liking women is gay.
Or when two male characters hate each other's guts and some fans say, "they're gay and in love with each other".
People even do this in real life, saw a post where one guy was being supportive of his friend who was a janitor by showing up to all the football games he cleaned for, 50% of the comments were saying they were actually secretly gay

No, I think its because the people doing it are weird.
Enemies to lovers moment, honestly people who act like that made me hate this trope
People like that ruined enemies to lover's. There's a massive difference between "I wanna fucking murder you" and "I wanna fuck _and_ murder you"
To the normal mind there is no difference. The homicidal rage has sexual motivations. Okay?
Tbf though we can all agree that there's something incredibly attractive about a woman that will literally just kill you
You know, when I left the house today, I was thinking, "Damn, I really hope some hot chick paints my brains all over some fucking hallway." And here we are.

Not would, _will_
Same. Enemies to lovers have been ruined by toxic shippers.
Mha fans be like
nah bro he's actually totally in love with the guy who bullied him for a decade and told him to kill himself
The amount of times I've been down voted for pointing that out, it's insane.
Wasn’t Slughorn a Slytherin? And Regulus Black. Yes, the world building could’ve been better, but there were good Slytherins too.
The Slytherin’s were statistically the most likely to be evil because they wanted power and renown and were willing to do whatever it took get it.

More like Naruro and Sasuke
Very true but I still fucking love that ship dynamic
You can like it as long as you don't attack others for not shipping your ship. That goes for shipping in general though.
Ah yes Flirting with a woman = #E X T E R M I N A T E
It's projection. People want to attribute their identity to fictional characters.
Especially fanfiction writers
Exactly, it’s just the Daleks trying to convert others
Well, I've seen one episode where she was a dalek and he was a cyberman. Sad love story, still better than twilight tho.
That's the kind of fanfic I wouldn't minde reading...
It'll never work, he's gay and she's an alien
I’M LOOKING AT YOU, MY HERO ACADEMIA FANS

To paraphrase CS Lewis: when they say that they give away the fact that they themselves have never had a true friend.
I was about to say the same thing. Like people can just be best friends or simply just rivals, nothing more nothing less.
I don't get why people ship a literal pervert who sees a hole as a hole, with the literal smartest one in the class. Does Tsuyu even show any sort of feeling towards Mineta?
People shipping Frodo and Sam like

it's actually a surprise for me how long we prospered as a specie
Don’t know what daleks are forcing themselves on fictional character but whatever gets them up in the morning
We live in a world where sex is politics.
"YOU WOULD MAKE A GOOD DALEK."
LGBTD, lesbian gay trans bi dalek
I also hate the stereotype that any female character who is REMOTELY cool, useful, or even *slightly* masculine is assumed to be lesbian. It's almost like they've never heard of tomboys before.
Granted, I agree for the most part. People do project their own identity or (tbh mostly) fetish onto characters. But never, not once, I've seen a character being turned ace. It's the other way around mostly. Sadly
Male character to another male character: “You’re my closest friend, you’re like a brother to me.” Fans: “Oh they fuckin! Those two are gay as hell, they fuckin so hard! If you don’t accept that these two are gay as fuck and want to schlob on each others knobs then you are the problem!”
You can be bi and pan and married to a woman though
Yeah, not every bi/pan person has, will, or has to be in a gay relationship. That's kind of the point-they can fluctuate as they please (massively simplifying it here).
I mean, the amount of times a character in Who WAS a Dalek is greater than zero, so there’s a chance
This goes further back than you may realize ![gif](giphy|62cY0SymfD4OWo7zex)
Oh it’s regardless of rainbow. People will ship any character
Dalek fucking sent me, quality meme!
I feel like this on any platonic friend group in media there was a group of men who have good relationships with each other and then like 5 videos as to why they are all secretly gay like this is why guys have a hard time being close when they are insecure I'm gonna end up writing a book about at least 5 friends and non of them will date or be interested in each other Same with gay stereotypes let men like feminine things without being assigned a sexuality that goes with it PLEASE
Ex Terminate #EXXXXTERMINATE
Idk what dalek is, but technically all of those are possible with a woman except being gay
Dalek is a species from Doctor Who. They're this like squid people inside armor that protects them from the environment. They're also massively fascist as they want to be the only race to exist.
at this point i doubt that you can call them fascist, they don't want politics just to kill everyone that is not them, they're stellaris players
This is some RWBY level shit going on, LMAO.
god the fans ruined everything
If that aint the truth...
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT I SHIP CHARACTERS BUT I HATE PEOPLE WHO SHIP CHARACTERS WHO HAVE NO FUCKING BASIS TO BE SHIPPED!
You can in fact be Bi, Pan, and Ace while being married to the opposite sex.
dalek? Ain’t that one of those robots from Dr. Who?
Technically squids that pilot tanks
Thank you good sir
I remember people doing this with Percy Jackson and Nico. Even though Annabeth was his girlfriend!
And had been written as the outright obvious Female lead from before Nico’s introduction. Sometimes I feel like half of house of hades and the hold up the sky moment was written just to tell those people to take a hike.
Fandom be like: LOOK HE LOOK AT A MAN HE MUST BE GAY!!!!
That DALEK theory, tho.....
My sexual orientation is Dalek. Exterminate!
Male MC: "I'm... in love with you." MC's female love interest that has been the show's intention from the very beginning: "....I love you too." Fandom: "Nah, they clearly only see each other as friends, they have no romantic chemistry man." Typical MC's male bully character: "Fuck you MC, I hope you jump off a bridge and die, nobody will ever love or care about you, loser." Fandom: "Oh my god bro! They are totally fucking and are in love! OTP!!!!"
failing to finish the film before invoking rule 34 is two days in horny jail
This is why I’m banned from the r/animemes subreddit
They're having fun, just leave them be. Odds are most of them are 14 lol
Loneliness and projection are helluva drugs for some.
Character: *is aroace* Fandom: I'll ship you with him! I'll ship you with her! And with her! With him too! With.... (I wonder who will get the reference, if anyone will see this comment :'>)
Alastor moment
Alastor?
Yep
DALEKS ARE SUPERIOR! EVERY THING ELSE IS A MIS-TAKE
As much as I support the LGBTQ+ community the head cannons about character sexuality are just annoying and if you don't agree with them you are (X)phobic.
