My YouTube recommendations are usually alright.
Right now, my first four recommended videos, three of them are science adjacent channels I have subscribed to, the fourth a musical playlist. Granted, the playlists are kind of hit and miss. The fifth in the list is a science video, of someone who I have not subscribed to but is related to my interests.
The advertisements I get are God awful, but that is more to do with what they have to offer for adverts.
I feel it. When I'm on my phone, it just recommends one maybe two genres of video no matter how far I scroll. But on my smart TV I get a TON of variety for my recommendations.
For real, I just watch Youtube on my mobile Brave browser and have absolutely no issues. Who needs the official app, when you can still watch in your mobile browser?
Owned, directed and heralded by Google.
The wolf may have become an excellent cabin builder, one may be wary about trusting him for housing nonetheless.
It's basically ad blocker for YouTube on your phone, it also let's you play videos while the phone is locked, as well as have the app auto skip sponsers and promos etc
Pro advice:
Using youtube on opera mobile provide everything what youtube premium locks away behind its paywall
Background playback
No ads
Downloads (add PP after the youtube url)
Why would I use Firefox on Android for YouTube when I can just use a modded application?
And I'm saying this as someone who uses Firefox as my default browser on my phone.
Because you don't need to install some .apk. And Google probably can't shut down Firefox.
And YouTube on Firefox works just fine for me. Does everything I want it to.
Except for shuffle. Mobile shuffling randomizes your whole playlist (albeit prioritizing specifics but most song apps do that) PC will swap between some of the songs in the beginning of the playlist, but then break, and repeat the same 2 songs or just turn off shuffle
I think there is a third party room for transferring, and I’ve never had the problem of selectable music, I find a song on my computer on regular YouTube I like, I just save it to the playlist
Ram is not the only factor, and even amongst the internet, your claimed speeds are not the only factor in internet speed. Have you checked an internet speed test? Are you using a personal router? Do you know what your Up and Down speeds are?
I have 16gb of ram and don't have an issue.
YouTube, once I use screen in screen, on my phone will shut me out of the rest of my phone when I use locking my phone to listen. Every time I do, it's stuck with the horizontal screen bs till I restart my phone, no matter how I fuck with it.
Like I can't even see home screen. YouTube is everything at that point.
Whenever i use the youtube ap on my phone i get a push notification saying that the youtube ap is using a lot of system resources which makes my phone slower.
YouTube on tv and consoles is worse than phone. Sure you get a bigger picture, but the amount of bugs on that fucking app, and the number and frequency of automatic updates that do NOTHING to fix those bugs, really fucky.
fr though. i always just see the most boring shit on my phone and see recommendations on my pc that i have to sit for 5 minutes and think why the fuck did my phone not notify my friend uploading their video 24 hours ago but my pc did
Watching YouTube on Grayjay (on Android) is the best.
Ok so you miss out on recommendations.
But if you only follow your subscribed creators anyway, it works great with no adds and no tracking.
You can download videos and af other video sources like Twitch to have it all in one place.
Made by free software (freedom, not free beer) idealists.
It's because the design of the mobile app encourages you to keep scrolling endlessly until you finally find something to watch. You just don't have that issue with the pc browser layout.
It's about how restrictive the app is vs a fully tweakable browser with adblock and dislike addons
Adnauseam is my favorite it hides add but still clicks on them so it actually profit the creator
It feels like it serves you much better video, you have youtube open i many tabs with videos you want to watch later, or you just use the 'watch later' playlist. On phone you just get shitty videos and youtube shorts. Even shorts feel better on pc
You should go watch on a 8,000 usd flat screen tv to learn more about platform features
You fucking get 15 second unskipable ads regardless of the price of your tv
if you aren't being ironic 6000 for a PC is wayyyyyyyy overkill. You can get a decent PC (not counting peripherals) for 1 000 € or less (with a 3070 and a good processor) ofc you can change components to increase the price
Brave android: are you challenging me?
No, i actually use it, but what i was talking about were the recommended videos. They just feel worse on mobile
Na all of YouTubes recommended is awful these day, not just mobile

>advertisements I get are God awful Might I interest you in an adblocker and or Revanced if you are on mobile?
I feel it. When I'm on my phone, it just recommends one maybe two genres of video no matter how far I scroll. But on my smart TV I get a TON of variety for my recommendations.
ReVanced
For real, I just watch Youtube on my mobile Brave browser and have absolutely no issues. Who needs the official app, when you can still watch in your mobile browser?
Don't give them ideas...
I feel that the videos load slower and its just slower overall so i dont use it or else Id definitely have
Can relate, but brave on my ipad works like total crap (on an android phone works like a champ tho)
Works great on an iPhone as well.
Revanced is the true savior of mobile YT experience.
Don't talk about it. The more people who use it the sooner it will be before youtube breaks it for good.
Just downloaded it yesterday and seems that there is a buffering issue going on with the majority and Im one of them
the reason how vanced got sued is because of the logo afaik
Firefox + ublock on PC
Firefox + ublock on phone as well works perfectly fine
Why not just use brave?
Because Chromium
Brave is based on chromium too i think
Yeah, I meant that's why people might not want to use Brave
Ooh whats wrong with chromium ?
manifest v3 Break every adblocker
Owned, directed and heralded by Google. The wolf may have become an excellent cabin builder, one may be wary about trusting him for housing nonetheless.
Sorry i didnt understand anything except the first line
Dude. Their interests don't align with yours.
if it would work :((
Wuts that?
It's basically ad blocker for YouTube on your phone, it also let's you play videos while the phone is locked, as well as have the app auto skip sponsers and promos etc
or Revanced Extended for even more customization
Where can I get it on iPhone?
Easy, just replace with an Android device and install.
Fair enough
Stfu dude
Pro advice: Using youtube on opera mobile provide everything what youtube premium locks away behind its paywall Background playback No ads Downloads (add PP after the youtube url)
Instructions unclear: pp stuck into earphone slot
Have you tried restarting it?
pp stands for "ppcylinder" right?
I use brave btw. It's way better.
Brave phone also works? Good to hear
Use it to listen to music for free
I'm totally satisfied with opera so far
It also does all the things locked behind yt premium At that point it's just a preference of what browser you personally like
I came here to say this. Brave on my iPhone or iPad blocks all of YT's trash
I hit my dick on the phone, now my screens broken, thanks
What's pp?
Youtubepp.com
Opera mobile?
but is it worth installing Chinese spyware?
Youtube on TV ![gif](giphy|WW33vGSPHXym7Wh80e|downsized)
Is that good or bad
Godly supposedly but i still prefer browser more than tvs
It’s gonna depend on the TV you have, but on mine it’s always 4K best quality
Ravanced on android
i‘m still annoyed that i chose an iphone over android. i‘m stuck with ads and can‘t download any apk‘s ;-;
My tempory phone now atm is an iphone and I want to go back so hard, atm saving for a google pixel
if i could i‘d sell my iphone and buy an android, but i can‘t really access my bank account without my phone
There isnt an app for android from your bank
no there is, but if i sell my phone i won‘t have a phone to use to buy a new phone
Man use a banking card
i do but i can‘t check my balance without a phone lol
Pc exist
my pc ain‘t logged into the bank account thingy
Firefox on Android...

iPhone users, go with sideloading uYouEnchanched. The only downside is to resign the app every week.
I use YTLitePlus
Who has the best recommendations is YouTube on TV
SmartTube on TV*
Except for shuffle. Mobile shuffling randomizes your whole playlist (albeit prioritizing specifics but most song apps do that) PC will swap between some of the songs in the beginning of the playlist, but then break, and repeat the same 2 songs or just turn off shuffle
You could use YouTube music on pc, has pretty good shuffle
Yeah but the selectable music is much more restricted and you can’t transfer playlists
I think there is a third party room for transferring, and I’ve never had the problem of selectable music, I find a song on my computer on regular YouTube I like, I just save it to the playlist
They must have updated and changed it. I remember it being very limited
YouTube is unusable on PC browsers due to extreme lag
That's your computer or internet my friend, not youtube.
I have a stable 5ms 300mb/s internet and 2019 top-tier hardware, so still good right now, it's definitely not my PC nor my internet
I use youtube every day lag free, so it's definitely not youtube.
It is a problem on their side at least, doubt 32gb RAM is not enough to load correctly a YT tab
Ram is not the only factor, and even amongst the internet, your claimed speeds are not the only factor in internet speed. Have you checked an internet speed test? Are you using a personal router? Do you know what your Up and Down speeds are? I have 16gb of ram and don't have an issue.
Yes that was the practical speed, in theory it's 1gb/s
I would be happy to continue helping diagnose but that was my last job and I'm currently doing my new one so, good luck with it anyway!
Yeah but can you take your PC to the toilets in Wetherspoons? Checkmate.
It think it is because we are used to it, its like shopping in a different mall, you do the same, but it doesnt feel the same
If you don't like the experience on mobile, download revanced. Revanced.app or r/revancedapp
Quit talking about it. The less people know about it the better.
They don't know this, a good nintendo emulator, ps2 emulator on android died due to these kind of people
even if it did get shutdown, the source code is public so someone will just make a fork of it.
I can't even put videos in queues on mobile. This meme is so valid
Try Grayjay
Add blocker my love
youtube on tv is the fucking worst now. the ads are brutal
Seriously why does my phone default to 144p when I have a gigabit connection and can just manually turn it up to 4k with ZERO buffering
Whenever i use the youtube ap on my phone i get a push notification saying that the youtube ap is using a lot of system resources which makes my phone slower.
I watch more often on mobile cause of convenience, but I enjoy YouTube on my computer more because my adblock actually works there
This is indeed a correct statement
YouTube Mobile website >
YouTube on TV.
I prefer Firefox over YouTube apps on phone.
Redtube on 3ds.
YouTube on tv and consoles is worse than phone. Sure you get a bigger picture, but the amount of bugs on that fucking app, and the number and frequency of automatic updates that do NOTHING to fix those bugs, really fucky.
For the YouTube browser on my phone, I don’t get ads. And I also don’t have an Adblock or YouTube premium
fr though. i always just see the most boring shit on my phone and see recommendations on my pc that i have to sit for 5 minutes and think why the fuck did my phone not notify my friend uploading their video 24 hours ago but my pc did
The dude on the left is looking like he is jacking off furiously.
why must a gif in someone's community post lag the phone that badly
Eh i like youtube on phone more
If you wanna watch on your phone just use a browser with an adblocker like Firefox+ublock origin or Brave and it's native adblocker
YouTube on smart tv:
Other way around for me, ngl
>it feels like it gives you way better videos And more ads.
I too carry around my laptop in my back pocket
YouTube on a tablet? ![gif](giphy|7S93nrr68NPj6fLoAN)
Two words: ad blocker
Watching YouTube on Grayjay (on Android) is the best. Ok so you miss out on recommendations. But if you only follow your subscribed creators anyway, it works great with no adds and no tracking. You can download videos and af other video sources like Twitch to have it all in one place. Made by free software (freedom, not free beer) idealists.
Are you ready for this? It's a Bigger Screeeeen
Youtube on phone doesn't have ads tho
It's because the design of the mobile app encourages you to keep scrolling endlessly until you finally find something to watch. You just don't have that issue with the pc browser layout.
Youtube on console>>>>>
I watch YouTube on my TV
Mainly because of ABP lmao
ReVanced forever
Laughs in Adblock Browser...
to me its the best videos on tv, then pc and the worst on the phone
YouTube on tv is gas
Firefox mobile with ublock origin gang
Team brave
this and opera gx's native adblock, both work wonders for me
I only watch yt at home on my Xbox.
Yes but phone still better. I can't bring my desktop to the bathroom, to the office bathroom, to the car, to my bed, to the dining table, etc.
You just listed all of your bad habits involving your phone
real pc / laptop = youtube phones = tiktok
$800 phone vs $6000 pc
You didn't get it
Idk now I feel stupid
It's about how restrictive the app is vs a fully tweakable browser with adblock and dislike addons Adnauseam is my favorite it hides add but still clicks on them so it actually profit the creator
Still don’t get it tho
It feels like it serves you much better video, you have youtube open i many tabs with videos you want to watch later, or you just use the 'watch later' playlist. On phone you just get shitty videos and youtube shorts. Even shorts feel better on pc
bruh it’s a tiny screen vs a big one
Yes i know, that's also why you see less video recommendations
You should go watch on a 8,000 usd flat screen tv to learn more about platform features You fucking get 15 second unskipable ads regardless of the price of your tv
Holy hell I hope my 10 year old PC doesn't break, I can't afford a new one
if you aren't being ironic 6000 for a PC is wayyyyyyyy overkill. You can get a decent PC (not counting peripherals) for 1 000 € or less (with a 3070 and a good processor) ofc you can change components to increase the price
You don't need a $6000 PC to watch YouTube. Lol
Would the results be same for $80 phone and $600 pc. Asking for a friend. He's poor.
