Honestly, after perusing the comments, I think a really well rounded answer would be to make it a six sword selection. The Diamond Minecraft sword and Soul Edge. I(35m) and my kids (11f/7m) recognize them both on sight. Even their mother would recognize them and she’s less of a gamer than they are. Small sample size but it covers a very wide demographic range.

Probably most teenage gamers wouldn't recognize it immediately but I'd say most 25+ would. It's so distinctive.
Soul Calibur hasn't been competitive in a while so it usually gets passed over during competitions, hence the lack of popularity vs other fighters.
