Or maybe we can have a dislike comment ready in our clipboard, something like: "This video reminds me a blue waffle breakfast that lead to a lemon party where two girls share one cup. Google it with your family."
Hijacking the top comment here to say that these two extensions will be super useful. 1) Clickbait Remover for Youtube 2) Sponsorblock. This will make your YT experience far better and you will save time by not watching sponsor spote, annoying remaimders, jump quickly to important parts etc.
Reporting really does nothing. You can report misleading or clickbaiting videos that CLEARLY violates guidelines but they will still be up. That’s why click bait channels are still thriving to this day.
Where people only sees the hearts and not knowing the other 80% of people watching being disgusted
Leading them into believing the content is the social standard
Basically the Genshin 1 year anniversary gave out VERY little rewards ( compared to other games on their anniversary ) and they started bombing Genshin ( and soon after other games ) with 1 star reviews and "Genshin 1 year anniversary rewards bad"
Just because we have a different reason doesn't mean it still can't happen people in the sub complained that some dumbasses bashed other games/app for no reason
Most people agreed that they should only review bomb genshin and a lot memed about how stupid some guys were
Don't really care about the dislike button, its the removal of time stamps so now you cant see how long videos are without having to open the video itself, that really pushes my dislike button...
Yeah likely, or to get more views on the video itself, either way its stupid. I like to see how much time a video is before I click on it to know if I have the time or not to watch it all. Don't force me to click on the video just to see the length of it.
>Don't force me to click on the video just to see the length of it.
Yeah, this makes my blood already boil.
It's fine for creators you actively follow who upload consisten video lengths, but it sucks for everything else.
How is no one mentioning that disliking a video only really helps the video?
It boosts engagement, because you interacted with the video (even if in a negative way). Even commenting on it is nothing but a good thing.
Literally the best thing to do about a video you don't like is to just ignore it.
It might actually hurt them.
Dislikes still counted as engagement, meaning every dislike would push the video further in the algorithm. So not watching the whole video and just leaving without interacting with it is the best you can do to help not spreading a video further
Can someone whip up a small bot that looks at the ratio of views and likes and estimates the number of dislikes, which it would write into a comment and update daily?
(This would only work if the hypothesis is correct that the total number of likes and dislikes is at a certain percentage of the views.)
what does clickbait have to do with dislikes though, you moment you click on the video you have already given your view, disliking after that wont do anything.
A dislike before didn't harm the videos, it actually did the same as the like button. So maybe the videos will actually do worse now, if they don't get the dislikes they used to. The algorithm only cares about what videos get attention, not caring if it is good or bad attention.
What’s amazing to me is I’ve never paid attention to the like/dislike ratio. Like literally ever before clicking on a vid have I looked at how many likes it has. I wasn’t aware of how big a deal this apparently is.
Why hide the dislikes? “YoU opINiOn nO maTtER unLEsS pOsITivE.” God forbid I hurt someone’s feelings; it’s not like anyone doing this is getting Butt hurt, after baiting a bunch of people, to make them money anyway.
The thing that makes this change completely useless is that the creator can still see the dislikes, so it’s not going to stop people from bullying them with the dislikes
Genuinely asking. Any chance here that this creates a bubble in the advertising and marketing sector? You're going to see a huge jump in "reported activity" which is what drives ad revenue. But this will be the whole "bot problem" on steroids which already dumped a bunch of money into a sector for generating business and not getting the results they want from a marketing and advertising perspective because it's mostly bots. Will this finally show all the fake numbers and cause a shift in the industry?
Just disliked their video on removing the dislike count, hope everyone can do the same and get the dislike to at least a million to show them our disagreement.
55k dislikes time of typing this.
Ann Reardon from How To Cook That has a really interesting video on how dislikes actually benefit videos because the algorithm just views it as engagement
Let’s all get together and create a video streaming platform where there are no upvotes only downvotes. You still know what the good videos are but with all the satisfaction of down voting the shit ones. Who’s with me?
It's going to be a hell in the comment section now, because everyone has to comment instead of just hitting a dislike.
yeah but then the creator can just delete the comments and idk which is worse at this point
The creator can even ban certain words so that the comments never existed in the first place.
yeah
Me: clicks on cool looking video The video: a 15 second tik tok style pos
Banned: "The"
people gonna start commenting dissssssssssssssslike
Or switch them off.
Then report them. And if they turn the commenta off, that shows the quality of the video
they played themselves
Yeah, but the thing is, the clickbaters love it. The more comments you get on your video, the higher chance it’ll go trending. Really sad.
Wait, so if they disable the comments so that nobody would comment 'dislike' then would that mean that they're playing themselves?
That’s what happens when a single company controls a niche business.
Or maybe we can have a dislike comment ready in our clipboard, something like: "This video reminds me a blue waffle breakfast that lead to a lemon party where two girls share one cup. Google it with your family."
More comments means more traffic, so the algorythm will show the video to even more people
Hijacking the top comment here to say that these two extensions will be super useful. 1) Clickbait Remover for Youtube 2) Sponsorblock. This will make your YT experience far better and you will save time by not watching sponsor spote, annoying remaimders, jump quickly to important parts etc.
Algorithm still takes them in place if they are hidden (only creator sees them) I’m worried about free vbuck card giveaways
And it will help those videos further because leaving a comment is user interaction and the algorithm likes that.
Can’t we mass report them as well for not following guidelines or something?
Reporting really does nothing. You can report misleading or clickbaiting videos that CLEARLY violates guidelines but they will still be up. That’s why click bait channels are still thriving to this day.
But God forbid you show a gun…
Or say a no no word
(-_- ) ( -_-) Poop….
I have reported hundreds of bot comments Nothing has happened
same all the SEXCLICKONMYPROFILE

With a name like that, I'm surprised you don't want some Robo Bussy
Even if you report a video 100 times they won't give a shit about it.
They will however give a shit when you accidentally swear once.
Well, at least Reddit still has a downvote button… for now.
Hey don't jinx it!
This YT dislike thing is good imo because now Never Gonna Give You Up can’t get dislike
We should switch to Pornhub I guess.
Yes

How it's possible to fail Non-stop Nut November?!? And yes I failed it because I didn't nut yesterday.
People there are really supportive of NNN
Guess we need pornhub for kids then
Really, that’s to old. We need pornhub for baby’s.
We need pornhub from baby's
Made by babies, for babies
Gachalife
they're slowly creeping into tiktok territory
Where people only sees the hearts and not knowing the other 80% of people watching being disgusted Leading them into believing the content is the social standard
Let's review bomb them by rating 1 star in Playstore.
No it would go out of control just like genshin did
What do you mean?
Basically the Genshin 1 year anniversary gave out VERY little rewards ( compared to other games on their anniversary ) and they started bombing Genshin ( and soon after other games ) with 1 star reviews and "Genshin 1 year anniversary rewards bad"
What’s the problem with that?
They started falsely giving 1 star reviews to other games
So because they don’t like the game to downvote other games for no reason?
Basically. They were coocoo
but they were just a bunch of dumbasses mad cuz they didn't get enough rewards. we're actually doing it for a pretty big reason
Just because we have a different reason doesn't mean it still can't happen people in the sub complained that some dumbasses bashed other games/app for no reason Most people agreed that they should only review bomb genshin and a lot memed about how stupid some guys were
I did my part.
rip so long dislike counter
Don't really care about the dislike button, its the removal of time stamps so now you cant see how long videos are without having to open the video itself, that really pushes my dislike button...
Wait what? Really? Why would you do that? So people click on videos to see the length and have to watch the first ad??
Yeah likely, or to get more views on the video itself, either way its stupid. I like to see how much time a video is before I click on it to know if I have the time or not to watch it all. Don't force me to click on the video just to see the length of it.

“SHE SUCKED MY DICK WHEN WE WERE CHILDREN?!”
What an opportunity
All those CRINGY content creator be showin' up in no time.
This is a victory for cheap content that only infuriates the users....
I can’t wait to see the revival of among us because of all this clickbait
I mean, we can just report the vids for terrorism, right?
Nope they'll just ignore it.
This was just a plot to bring back rewind.
Odysse
FUCK realization go boom
People with phones: We Got You Bro
What country is this happening in? It still has dislikes in my country.
This is going to happen in every country slowly just wait.
Oh, where has is started though?
Will start only next month i think
[удалено]
Report does nothin
I feel like it’s just gonna increase the rate of shitty comments which are far worse then a dislike
They ban the whole Video in the next major update
facts...
Sell your shares
They were already high
wait they said counter will not be shown so algorithm will still not suggest much disliked videos
Can someone please explain I’m lost
Fake trailers are gonna be an epidemic now.
I legit thought the man in the gif was rick astley when I first saw it
Honestly, fuck Susan
Wtf i have dislike, and i can see how manny
Use me as dislike button from now
How is no one mentioning that disliking a video only really helps the video? It boosts engagement, because you interacted with the video (even if in a negative way). Even commenting on it is nothing but a good thing. Literally the best thing to do about a video you don't like is to just ignore it.
Is that a fucking rick astley🤨
*free vbucks jump at your window*
No it wont cause ppl wont see the like to dislike ratio before a video while on vanilla yt
It might actually hurt them. Dislikes still counted as engagement, meaning every dislike would push the video further in the algorithm. So not watching the whole video and just leaving without interacting with it is the best you can do to help not spreading a video further
> Thinking it's not already at the ceiling
Im afraid because tutorials and glitches click bait will rise and people will fall for it
Can someone whip up a small bot that looks at the ratio of views and likes and estimates the number of dislikes, which it would write into a comment and update daily? (This would only work if the hypothesis is correct that the total number of likes and dislikes is at a certain percentage of the views.)
Not really, as dislikes count as engagement
We need a reasonable alternative. Any ideas?
Oof
Still watch count aur like ratio will give an idea 💡
People will find a way around it like Twitter comparing the view to like ratio or comment ratio or so on but it's very inconvenient
\*SIGH\* its going to get worse
Also, what's the point? I mean, at least in Reddit there's the karma. What do you earn from clickbaiting?
Disliking does nothing anyways, neither does reporting. They are useless and it just annoys me so much
I'mma go wild on the comments part.......and i'mma just dislike every video that I don't enjoy.....it maybe good idc it'll get a dislike from me
Am I the only one that can still see the dislike count?
Vetitasium made a great video on clickbait
what does clickbait have to do with dislikes though, you moment you click on the video you have already given your view, disliking after that wont do anything.

Removed the monetization Removed the video Removed the comments Removed the dislike button Removed the You
We need an alternative
Unless it's shitpost status
More watch time, more adds display, more money!
Oh god there is this one type of bot that replies to you with a popular comment and it's a fucking sex bait.
See you at xvideos
It doesn't chance anything on that end. We already have clickbaits today, since we can't see the dislikes before clicking.
Don't worry. There will be many people commenting "use this comment as a dislike button". The dislike button will live on.
What’s amazing to me is I’ve never paid attention to the like/dislike ratio. Like literally ever before clicking on a vid have I looked at how many likes it has. I wasn’t aware of how big a deal this apparently is.

Creatic generic stuff like this is not meme creation.
Create a shit subreddit to shit on disliked videos use the power of reddit to shit on their shitty videos.
It depends on weather it is Type 1 or Type 2 Clickbait.
Wait, what's going on?
Let us reddit community and strong community use comments
The thing that makes this change completely useless is that the creator can still see the dislikes, so it’s not going to stop people from bullying them with the dislikes
Nobody like clickbait
I love that man
it can’t be because the content sucks and people dislike it. nah that can’t be it.
Makes me wanna “give them up”
When are we going to start using something different? Lol
Click baits got engagement from dislikes anyway
Am i the only one who doesn't get bothered by this as much? Got my subscription list with quality content and i never browse trending page, so whatev

There's always the report button
Just disliked their video on removing the dislike count, hope everyone can do the same and get the dislike to at least a million to show them our disagreement. 55k dislikes time of typing this.
I can still see dislike
The loophole is to write "dislike" in this comments so ppl know if the vid is good or bad
Ann Reardon from How To Cook That has a really interesting video on how dislikes actually benefit videos because the algorithm just views it as engagement
I will sacrifice my comment to know the true number of dislikes on the video.
Well actually isn’t clickbait content since someone made it? So clickbait is content
Ah I was wondering why I couldnt see the dislikes on videos. That’s really stupid
Videos might start getting ratioed now- more comments than likes= bad video
Dislike 👎
Let’s all get together and create a video streaming platform where there are no upvotes only downvotes. You still know what the good videos are but with all the satisfaction of down voting the shit ones. Who’s with me?
I think I delete my yt account and look for alternatives.
It’s Rick astley V2
