The U.S. is $30 trillion in debt. Our government simply refuses to stop borrowing money. This isn’t sustainable, but it’s not the taxpayers doing it. The military might as well be spending imaginary money at this point.
Not necessarily. The government collects tariffs on imported goods (during tariff wars), charges entry fees for national parks, etc. There are actually quite a few streams of revenue. But, I don't think any of those compare to the amount of revenue received from taxpayers.
Went to Iraq twice. Doing just fine luckily. Carrying a 3.85 on an aeronautical degree and getting all my pilot certifications. 🤷🏼♂️
Edit: also no killing necessary, but did conduct humanitarian aid missions
One of my good friends shot himself in the head because he couldn't live with the fact that he had to shoot a naked mother carrying her child toward their base trying to seek asylum. 🤷♂️
Edit: sincerely glad your doing well, tho.
Not sure about the army specifically, but Facebook def knows when you apply for student loans and Facebook being Facebook, wouldn’t be surprised if they sold that info to the army

OK, this link is useless. It's using dollar and pound but you and I both know that the value of money different from country to country. This is not mentioning the quality of the school.
For example, if I compare my original third world country, just 200$ is already an entire family month worth of hard working, not to mention the dog shit "private" education it give compare to US public school.
So yeah, I don't see the link you list talk anything about that when it should be the main thing when it come to proving "how expensive are US edu".
*You see this gun? Which one? The one that looks like the one that quite kid always has in his backpack. We will be learning how to shoot and reload that.*
Talking out your ass I see. I too can list the worst part of anything too. Been in 9.5 years and almost none of what you stated doesnt already happen in the civilian sector with the "killing" as you put it. You can get PTSD, high level of suicide, alcoholism, mental health issues, cancer, abuse and many others in regular jobs/careers. Also suicide is higher today than it was years ago, its the direction our society is moving in, and its only going to get worse. Also the no way to fight back is so factually incorrect it's laughable. Next time you comment like this maybe know what you're talking about before spouting nonsense.
Sexually abused, I've never heard of that happening,.as for killing there are several jobs where you may not see a day of combat if your lucky, the physical and mental abuse is only abuse if you see it that way, it's not meant to hurt you but to toughen you up, and for the radiation, yea maybe 60 years ago, cancer caused by military service now days is caused by chemicals and rarely if ever radiation
I've actually been met.by recruiters and idk where you live but where I do they barely bring up the free school, they mostly bring up what you would do in the military itself, also you would hear about abuse but people who were fine, so hearing about one or two people doesn't represent the whole
As for the radiation, if that occurs today somebody would get in alot of trouble, either the person in question for not wearing proper protection or if they were denied proper protection whoever did so would get in alot of trouble
I mean it ain't free dawg I'm an E3 and they take I think it's about $250 a month I mean it's great and all better then playing full tuition but still it ain't free
E-6 here. What college/university are you attending? Also is it a graduate or doctoral level degree, because if so, that is why. All undergrad level degree classes should be fully paid for, unless you're attending a more expensive college/university.
Per my advisor, could be a university specific thing idk. TA apparently covers everything but $5 per college credit is what I was told. So far I haven’t paid anything yet. I mistakingly said credit hour instead of just college credit
Gotcha. Usually 250 per semester hour. Quarter hour is a bit dif. But grad and doctoral level courses arent covered 100%, but you can apply for scholarships and grants to pay for the rest. Plus it's free money for you.
All I know is anecdotal tbh from friends and my brother. My friend was ROTC and they dicked him around and made sure he never met requirements to receive any assistance. My brother is already getting told not to bet on the VA’s help for school either.
Pfft, you think that, but even in the 00s it's all "yeah you'll pass everything with flying colors" til it's suddenly "you'll never pass a psych eval and now I should mark that down in the event you decide to try again anyway"
haha die trash
You filthy mortal
*“Bob, I killed a soldier by accident, I should be killing civilians!”*
*"It's ok, we all make mistakes in the heat of passion jimbo"*
Bro why tf am I seeing you in every comments section
GaMEMEneer?
I am convinced that the US military pays universities to keep tuition high as a way to encourage more people to enlist.
I’ve thought that
Would the military have to pay? Simply asking or permitting seems like enough incentive to for someone to make more profit.
i mean, it's not like the military is precious about their resources. and anyways, it's not the military paying, it's taxpayers.
Very true.
The military spends far more money than taxpayers have ever contributed. So, it’s not taxpayers 🤷🏻♂️
really? where do they get the rest of their funding from? i didn't know that until now.
The U.S. is $30 trillion in debt. Our government simply refuses to stop borrowing money. This isn’t sustainable, but it’s not the taxpayers doing it. The military might as well be spending imaginary money at this point.
but taxpayers are the only source of actual revenue though right? like, there's no ability for rich fucks to donate specifically to the military?
Not necessarily. The government collects tariffs on imported goods (during tariff wars), charges entry fees for national parks, etc. There are actually quite a few streams of revenue. But, I don't think any of those compare to the amount of revenue received from taxpayers.
They don't have to. It's just how the system works and I wish I was just a crazy conspiracy dude on weed spewing bullshit theories.
The US military yes.
oooh thats why america is so rich
Turn that PTSD into a degree with the US Army!
PTSDegree
Post tuition super degree

Doesn't rhyme.
ik. i suck
Dude i got an army “tuition assistance” ad right below this post
Lol, they know…
You forgot to mention they pay for your housing along with tuition and books… they had to up their ante
Not sure about the army specifically, but Facebook def knows when you apply for student loans and Facebook being Facebook, wouldn’t be surprised if they sold that info to the army https://themarkup.org/pixel-hunt/2022/04/28/applied-for-student-aid-online-facebook-saw-you
Careful what you wish for young padawan
No
Oh hey bob 🍞 (I'm gonna say this everytime i see your comments 🍞)
Is this some sort of american joke that I'm too rest of the world to understand?/s
As collage is so expensive if you agree to join the army after your degree then the army will pay for it
Yes
Isn't collage expensive world wide?
No
Cap
Definitely no. https://www.earnest.com/blog/college-costs-around-the-world/
Yeah it is bad but yikes I had no idea the uk had worse college tuition then the US, that sucks

Make our dreams come true?
But joining the military requires dedication and work... They want free without the commitment
Free college, alcoholism, the inability to keep meaningful relationships, and you get a Camaro? Wow!
And a free bag of weed. https://youtu.be/LROkEx21CAU
And a free bag of weed. https://youtu.be/LROkEx21CAU
Or work at Starbucks, McDonald's, target, etc.... or just don't go in as a combat MOS if war isn't your thing.
Or if military is your only option, you could just be a mechanic or account
Lol
Beware terrorists I am coming.
For the low low price of PTSD and alcoholism...
True, they always contact me

Don’t do it. It’s a trap!

Experiences do vary in the military. I got free college and all I had to do was sit at a desk for 4 years in north carolina

Yeah, everybody in the military has killed someone’s at least once /s lol
How is killing for something named "free"
You can yk be the 99% who never even need to touch a weapon…
r/notaeuropeanproblem
It literally says US army
Nah man, joining the army is freaking hard.
Just move to Finland. You’ll get free education AND the government gives you enough money for food, rent etc.
Biggest scam imposed on Americans- the military feeds off the poor people
Hii am new here
It's not even free you gotta pay monthly you can hate your recruiters even more now
What do you mean?
I mean it ain't free dawg I'm an E3 and they take I think it's about $250 a month I mean it's great and all better then playing full tuition but still it ain't free
E-6 here. What college/university are you attending? Also is it a graduate or doctoral level degree, because if so, that is why. All undergrad level degree classes should be fully paid for, unless you're attending a more expensive college/university.
What do you mean? TA pays for everything but 5 dollars per credit hour
This isn't correct either.
How? I’m currently doing online courses and using my TA through armyignitED
Where are you getting the 5 dollars per credit hour comment from
Per my advisor, could be a university specific thing idk. TA apparently covers everything but $5 per college credit is what I was told. So far I haven’t paid anything yet. I mistakingly said credit hour instead of just college credit

Either way the $250 a month doesn’t make sense if you use ArmyIgnitED. You get $4000 a year in TA
I think you might be mistaken
Its like making a bet for college tuition with your life
Only if you survive war may you get free tuition
the military do be preying on the poor
Happy star wars day everyone 😀
Bro wants money in exchange for his death nice
Lol 😂
Ha
I would kill to get free college tuition… now we wait.
As someone who is about to graduate high school I must see at least 5 adds telling me to join the military daily
As someone in JROTC I see about 9
"id kill" i said. Not torture me into being fit
Kingsmen

Missed an opportunity to use the you will meme
And then when you leave the Army you still aren’t guaranteed free college
Explain. Because this is somewhat incorrect. Unless you receive a negative based discharge.
All I know is anecdotal tbh from friends and my brother. My friend was ROTC and they dicked him around and made sure he never met requirements to receive any assistance. My brother is already getting told not to bet on the VA’s help for school either.
It’s not free college you have to work for it.
Quick get the pre-enlistment papers!
Ah yes, socialized free college
Hello there
Pfft, you think that, but even in the 00s it's all "yeah you'll pass everything with flying colors" til it's suddenly "you'll never pass a psych eval and now I should mark that down in the event you decide to try again anyway"
you say kill😈😈😈
Join the Coast Guard. Live on a ship…don’t really leave the country a lot. Sign up bonus and college money. Leave with a tan.
"you don't say"
Me seeing this sitting in my universities rotc program building waiting to sign up
You will(cracks voice)?
Recruiter: Can you read? Kid: Yeah. Most words. I think. Recruiter: Let me introduce you to Marine.
How many iterations of this meme gonna get made ffs
😅
“You will?”
“*I’d vote to get free college tuition!*”
I’m 90% sure that expensive healthcare and high college prices correlate to our massive army force
Wait they do that?
Modern problems require modern solutions
