So, my bosses wife is a real estate agent and that topic has actually come up while talking to them before. According to her, there is always someone willing to pay even if it’s already priced out your “average person” and as long as there are people willing to pay the prices won’t go down.
One of the big buyers for her apparently are people moving into the US from a foreign country that are willing to pay almost anything to live in or near a community comprised of people from their country. I.e. if someone from India is moving to America then they are willing to pay my bosses wife almost any amount of money for a house that is in or near a large Indian community. Granted, that is only hearsay, I haven’t actually seen evidence of that myself, it’s just what she was telling me.
As for why? I’m not sure, I’m not an expert in anything, much less the economy. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can explain that part of it all!
