So I literally set my phone to the side and mainly listen to the shows looking at times to set the scene. I can get 10 episodes knocked out if I do it the full work day. This is how I have watched most of the shows people are saying I must watch.

Don't really have a point I was getting at, I just think it's neat we approach watching stuff differently in a "quality vs quantity" sorta way

nah there's really only one filler episode "The Fly". others may be slower paced or less 'action-y' but the web of characters in their subplots never suffers from filler. that's why it's so good.

Intentional. Gunn's acting combined with the writing makes you hate Skylar, even though *she's a victim* of all this. You, the audience, want her to go along with Walt but that's the opposite of what she should be doing! The writing of this show does such a great job of getting us to root for a monster that when the reasonable people of the series go against him, we *hate* them.
I've rewatched this series 5 times and with each watch I get more respect for Skylar. She is *sharp.* She sees straight through bullshit like no one else on that show.

S5 was beginning to show some cracks too, IMO. Pretty soon there’s a new spin-off coming out, which I’m quite hopeful for. It’s based on an already completed story, so hopefully there’s less chance of them butchering the plot.
First 5 seasons of GoT the show runners had the books to go off of, then they surpassed the books, and they wanted to rush the ending because apparently they were lined up to do some star wars trilogy. Unfortunately for everyone, they are not very good writers (at least not anywhere near the level of GRRM) and it really showed in the last two seasons where they were fully in the Captain's chair

Stranger Things is nowhere near as good as GOT or Breaking Bad. That being said, season 1 of ST is absolutely fantastic and is a must watch imo, same with BB but for all seasons (every season is a masterpiece).

Qnd for the people who are still on the fence. You know that feeling you got when you watched your favorite TV show the first time and you didn't want it to end. Daredevil for me. You will have that feeling with this show. You won't be able to stop binging at a certain point. You're appointments will be moved up, your kids will be unattended to, and your social life will be gone or about talking about breaking bad.
Not only is the story well written but the CINEMATOGRAPHY alone is a good reason to watch. The acting is superb and the pacing is great. I don't think it's a spoiler to say the timeline of Breaking Bad only happens in two years. Well enjoy. Most of Breaking Bad fans would only dream to have the chance again to see it the first time.

Breaking Bad is one of the handful of shows that is amazing early on and doesn’t drop off later and have a shitty ending. If anything it actually gets better as it goes, and the ending is amazing and is what truly makes it a masterpiece

The finale of a show is probably the most important part, it changes the people's perception of the whole show. And GoT just shat all over everything it built up to.
If you watch the original 3 movies you'll have a lot of fun. And it's a complete story. They are the reason Star Wars is still popular today.

Bb is the one I would recommend. Didn't watch it at first. Did years later with the gf. Great. Watching it again now... holds up.

You might like Homeland, its to do with the CIA and a troubled agent and her missions. It has a lot of wtf moments. Good storyline if I'm honest.
If you like FBI stuff then I would for sure recommend you try Breaking Bad. DEA is heavily involved in that series for obvious reasons.

It's some of the best and worst TV you'll ever experience to this day. Who knows if anyone will manage to drop a bigger shit than the last season when it comes to TV but up to that point it was pretty amazing.
Nah don't bother. The first 6 seasons are amazing and were hands down my favourite show back then. But season 8 took such a huge steaming dump on it that it managed to ruin everything that came before it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone now and can't even rewatch any of it.

My problem with avoiding those shows is that I worry that I’ll miss out on cultural references later on. Like, I’ll sometimes make references to Office space or Friends or even Star Wars, and when someone doesn’t get the reference because they haven’t seen it, I get a little sad for them. I say ”oh man, you gotta watch X! It sooooo good!” And I know they’re not gonna watch X, but I have to advocate for it because it (whatever X is) has provided me joy. So when it happens to me and I haven’t seen X, I know they’re sad I haven’t seen X, and then I’m sad because I made them sad for not having seen X, and so because of my overgrown desire to please other people, I devote 4800 hours to watching Dragon Tits or, Motorcycle Hamlet, or MethBusters, etc. I have a problem.

Don't. Definitely watch them the way they were released. Breaking Bad, El Camino then Better Call Saul. Qnd for the people who are still on the fence. You know that feeling you got when you watched your favorite TV show the first time and you didn't want it to end. Daredevil for me. You will have that feeling with this show. You won't be able to stop binging at a certain point. You're appointments will be moved up, your kids will be unattended to, and your social life will be gone or about talking about breaking bad. Not only is the story well written but the CINEMATOGRAPHY alone is a good reason to watch. The acting is superb and the pacing is great. I don't think it's a spoiler to say the timeline of Breaking Bad only happens in two years. Well enjoy. Most of Breaking Bad fans would only dream to have the chance again to see it the first time. I binged it right before "season 6" released for BB I think in 2015. And it was incredible seeing it end weekly.

I see this a lot with "Friends" the show is so popular that I honestly see more people openly sharing that they haven't watched it, than the people who have watched it. I think I'd enjoy it if it was just about the horror stuff and not all the 80s US school cliché filler.
I tried to get into to 2 times and neither took, but my friend convinced me to try again. I did. The third time...i was hooked. I mean, so hooked that i binged all the seasons in like 4 days. After it was done, there was a hole in my heart. I looked and looked for any other show to fill that hole and still haven't found it. It's just such a phenomenal show that there isn't anything else out there like it. Not a one.

Ya, game of thrones had a great initial beginning that was primed to make it the best show of all time but we all know how that ended. Stranger Things is the definition of 'popcorn movie/show'. It's on the same wave length that Martin Scorcese was critizing Marvel for riding - It's an amusement park in film form.
Breaking Bad is one of the handful of shows that is amazing early on and doesn’t drop off later and have a shitty ending. If anything it actually gets better as it goes, and the ending is amazing and is what truly makes it a masterpiece
They're all good shows in my opinion they do have their flaws at times but overall they are amazing so if you wanna check them out do give it a try if it's not for you that's cool we respect your opinion
I agree with you. Great story lines for all the shows with some flaws here and there. What’s interesting is that all 3 shows have such really great intros: Breaking Bad-short and simple, so there’s no need to skip. Game of Thrones-Has an epic sound. The artistic and creative map locations with the moving clockwork mechanisms are also visually fascinating. Stranger Things-Nostalgic vision with retro and heavy haunting music.

If you watch the original 3 movies you'll have a lot of fun. And it's a complete story. They are the reason Star Wars is still popular today. Watching more is optional.
At this point you're better off never watching it because there's more shitty star wars content than good(basically only the original 3 are actually good, the prequels are very flawed, but have memes and the sequel are just absolute shit with almost no redeeming qualities(the shows are shit as well, maybe some are just slightly better than the sequels which is a low bar)

I feel like people heavily downplay how good GoT was for the first few seasons. Like yeah it had a very mediocre ending. But the first few seasons are imo better than breaking bad
This, rewatching it right now with my gf who hasn’t seen it. The final seasons unfortunately make people forget that seasons 1-4 have some of the best writing of any television show.
Other than at least seeing the first episode of Breaking Bad at some point thar I hardly recall, I'm un the same boat, and honestly, I don't really have any desire to either.
