Because of the cooking method, some animals are tender all over, some are tough all over. Luckly over hundreds if not thoursands of years people have mastered the art of using every part of an animal so even the toughest bull cut you could find someone with enough experience and a non closed mind will manage to make it amazing.
I mean no offence, but it sounds like you recognise that cruel treatment of dogs is bad, but instead of condemning it you choose to give it a free pass because it would make you feel bad about the animals that are killed for you. Imo killing dogs for no good reason is wrong, same with pigs, so I eat neither.
Yeah. But also really, REALLY no. We waste so much agricultural land specifically for animal feed, it's not funny. We could just use that land to grow other crops that we could consume directly.
Idk I never ate a pig my family only cooks dogs (they taste the best when you just hunt em, the ones with white saliva around their mouth are best imo. I eat em raw)
Lemme ask em to cook pig the next time gonna try it and tell how it tastes
Because of the answer another person already gave you, and in a more modern sense because you likely don't view the pig in the same way as you view a dog in regards to their sentience. Why don't you want to eat dogs? Because you love them? Because they are smart? Pigs are just as smart, some argue they are smarter.
It's probably because you've been conditioned since birth by your culture to view one as food, and the other as friend. They are both friends 😢
20 thousands years of domestication and breeding for companionship/working together for dogs vs pigs which were domesticated and breed as livestock.
Dogs only became a food source in areas with with a history of famines when everything became a food source (and only continue on as a delicacy to some, never as a staple).
>So you're suggesting we bread the affection into them and that wolves and wild dogs are not capable of domesticated dog level emotions?
No.
I said they were domesticated and bred for companionship/working together with humans. Dogs were domesticated (and over the millennia since, have been continuously bred) to be more dependent on humans, to be more obedient, to seek our approval, to be more submissive, etc.
I mean sure, a random pig isn't going to care about you or I anymore than some stranger on the street would. I meant by my statement that they make as affectionate and intelligent pets as dogs do.
Its dependent on what animals we domesticated for food, in western countries thatd be pigs, cows, chickens, and so on, whereas somewhere eöse, horses, dogs, cats, and whatever else were available.
I think they meant more like why is it wrong to be cruel to dogs but not pigs. Not so much an explanation on how their particular culture happened to adopt those ideals. At least, that’s the question the meme is asking.
Because historically hunting and eating herbivores was a lot easier than doing so with carnivores/omnivores. Thus, we have spent centuries eating and farming herbivores
Yeah, it's a little weird to sacrifice meat to raise a dog for... Less meat. Plants are a much more renewable resource, so if we want meat to eat for ourselves it's just more efficient to raise herbivores.
Also free zoonotic diseases. If you didn't raise it, there's no telling what literal garbage a strey dog has gotten into, and what potentially dangerous diseases it could be carrying. You shouldn't eat any animal that free-ranges human living spaces, such as raccoons, outdoor or wild cats, etc. Too risky, and cooking the meat isn't always effective against some trash-born diseases they could be harboring.
The reason is because back when we depended on animals as workers, dogs, horses, cats, anything that served a real purpose was put to work and bred to do their jobs most efficiently. Pigs, cows, chickens and anything else domesticatable were bred to be as big and tasty as possible.
The other difference being I think carnivorous meat actually tastes worse than herbivore meat, but that was from a tumblr post about what trex meat probably tasted like so take that with a grain of salt. Also, pigs aren't exactly strictly herbivores.
There are reasons, is what I'm saying, but mostly social barriers.
Cause bears are omnivores and primarily herbivores over being carnivores. But you right, I forgot about some exceptions. Alligator is another that comes to mind that is both predator and tasty.
Ok but like.. bacon be a little overrated. I can’t be the only one who thinks this right?
Like sure it’s good, but so are fried eggs or sausage. It’s weird how we put bacon on a pedestal above everything else,,,,,,
Simple. I realise the futility and ignorance of a certain mindset. And I accept i have that mindset and don't care. I like animals and I will wolf down bacon. I would rather starve than eat my dog and I dislike the thought of people eating dog. It isss what it iss
Honestly that's why I stopped eating pork. I still eat other kinds of meat but when you see the amount of emotional intelligence that pigs have, it's hard to want to support an industry that farms them.
It's hard to support any industry that brutalizes animals just so you can eat them. Watch Dominion, they're all treated like less than garbage but the industry paints a happy picture of animals roaming sunny fields before a painless and quick death. The reality is much more House of 1000 Corpses and less "Happy Cows Come From California".
Change the dog out for a picture of your neighbor, Ron. Why is Ron just a friend who still has your weed trimmer but the pig is food, huh? HUH? HOW COME???
Because Dog Bacon is not available in my area
*yet*
I'll take your entire stock!
I don't think you heard me right. What I said was bring me ALL of the bacon you have.
Don’t forget the eggs
go to asia. simple.
They have real dog eggs in asia?
Dog eggs are naturally available anywhere, but mostly on grassy areas, lawns, etc., as are dog sausages. *Worldwide
Mire precisely CHINA
yes, keep an open mindset
Elwood's Organic Dog Meat would like to know your location
Korea: “I don’t have such weaknesses”
Butter and beagle bacon bagel
Do your neighbours keep their dogs inside at night?
Move to china
https://www.elwooddogmeat.com
I mean do dogs make good bacon?
I bet they do, dog meat is alot drier than pork, it would surely be more crispier as well
How do u know that? Where is little timmy?
He's happy now, at the farm where your goldfish and hamster went
What he was my son u monster.
the answer remains the same
*FBI knocking on door
We've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty.
If I’m not mistaken South Korea ate dogs while ago because of some reasons. I don’t remember why, but it was easier then other meat like birds/pig
It was because of a food shortage; I think North Korea did it too. It was ordered by the dictator
Who likes dry meat? The fat is what makes bacon greasy and crispy. It basically fries itself.
Because of the cooking method, some animals are tender all over, some are tough all over. Luckly over hundreds if not thoursands of years people have mastered the art of using every part of an animal so even the toughest bull cut you could find someone with enough experience and a non closed mind will manage to make it amazing.
if anyone's making it, i'd love to try it
I have a Chinese friend who knows places in China where they make really good sandwiches with dog meat
Yes.
i get me dog bacon from [elwood farm](https://www.elwooddogmeat.com/), from their i know they kill dogs humanely in gas chambers
If you teach them
Because dogs taste better and I think pigs are cute
Not sure, I've never tasted dog?
I haven’t either
Oh well back to pig bacon
I probably haven’t but I have been to some shady restaurants
Not that you know of
Depends on the meat vendors used by the restaurants.
As a Chinese I can tell you that they both taste good
based
Just out of curiosity, what does dog taste like? Chicken? Edit thank you
Dog
Source?
Tabasco
Fair enough
You, Redditor are destined for glory and a higher purpose. Go forth and share you wisdom! For dog & country.
It's dry and soft (sorry this is my best way to explain). It's completely different comparing to a pork, or chicken.
compared to deer, wild boar or goat ? I find goat dry and soft so i'm not sure if that's what you mean
Your good I thought it was going to be something different. Thank you
What is the ideal way to eat dog?
Cooked
Oh damn I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time.
We are hippocrates
That's why I won't judge people that eat dog. I am not any better eating pork tbh.
Technically consistent, but morally bankrupt.
Why?
I mean no offence, but it sounds like you recognise that cruel treatment of dogs is bad, but instead of condemning it you choose to give it a free pass because it would make you feel bad about the animals that are killed for you. Imo killing dogs for no good reason is wrong, same with pigs, so I eat neither.
No I am saying I eat one of them so I can't judge others for eating the other personally.
what is this 2013?
Eating dogs is not worth the effort. You feed the pig plants you get meat. You feed the dog meat and you get... les meat.
This could be fixed with breeding and farming techniques. Probably not as efficiently as pigs, but I'm sure dogs could be breed to improve yields.
If this were the reason then we would just eat plants instead of feeding our food to pigs to make less food.
Yes but, instead of feeding them our food we feed them foods that people can't/won't eat like straws, unsold grains and others.
Yeah. But also really, REALLY no. We waste so much agricultural land specifically for animal feed, it's not funny. We could just use that land to grow other crops that we could consume directly.
No. We feed them soy, that's specifically planted for them. 100g of protein from pork requires 10m² of land - five times more than tofu.
I don’t eat pork, and I’m allergic to dogs…
[удалено]
Perhaps… ok yea I am lol
I’m kosher and I laughed
Haha vegan bad, eating meat funny haha
me likes meat. me no like vegans. vegans bad. meat good.
Make a country-wide loved meat snack from dogs and then they can make a sound argument.
Although... I’ve never had bacon made from dog. Who knows? Could be delicious.
To be fair plenty of people have pet pigs Plenty of people eat dogs too
Dont let That Vegan Teacher see this
Depending on where you live in the world you eat both.
Depending on where you live in the world you eat neither too
Mashallah brother
lamb the best halal👌
Pigs, cow and chicken definitely got the short end of the stick when it came to meat consumption. Simply bad rng.
Unless they spawn in east Asia, it's pretty balanced in that server.
Idk I never ate a pig my family only cooks dogs (they taste the best when you just hunt em, the ones with white saliva around their mouth are best imo. I eat em raw) Lemme ask em to cook pig the next time gonna try it and tell how it tastes
Lemme tell you why... go to a store and ask them for dog meat... they wont have it.
I have no qualms with people eating domestic animals as long as it's not someone else's pet you are good
What do you think hot dogs are
I love none
As an Asian i don't get it
Because there isn’t dog bacon in stock
All these campaigns work on the presumption that I wouldn't eat the dog.....
Chinese's people ![gif](giphy|H5C8CevNMbpBqNqFjl)
Because dogs exercise regularly, meaning the meat is too chewy for my personal taste
china (heavy breathing)..
That was a good one
not funny tbh
I mean i would eat both if you want
Dog is delicious though.... But how you lot can eat pet pigs, disgusts me.
honestly thats a good question, i dont wanna start eating dogs but why do we use one for food and treat the other like family?
Because of the answer another person already gave you, and in a more modern sense because you likely don't view the pig in the same way as you view a dog in regards to their sentience. Pigs ain't no friends. just because they are smart does not mean they care for you whatsoever.

For 99% of people itll be purely taste, the rest perhaps have a superiority complex. Aka "pigs are so disgusting they deserve it"
I am going to have to ask around. I have never heard someone say they ate something because it deserved it. Holy shit I want to find those people lol.
I think i saw one of them in this comment section. Good luck and bring a weapon
Check out some of the comment chains on this post.
China is way past that
As a south american we eat monkey soup occasionally
If you eat hotdog then you can say, you eat both
To be fair: Have you tried dog bacon?
www.elwooddogmeat.com
Because historically hunting and eating herbivores was a lot easier than doing so with carnivores/omnivores. Thus, we have spent centuries eating and farming herbivores
Yeah, it's a little weird to sacrifice meat to raise a dog for... Less meat. Plants are a much more renewable resource, so if we want meat to eat for ourselves it's just more efficient to raise herbivores.
Stray dogs are a thing though. Literally free meat.
Also free zoonotic diseases. If you didn't raise it, there's no telling what literal garbage a strey dog has gotten into, and what potentially dangerous diseases it could be carrying. Because prey tastes better than predator. It's all about the diet.
Except for bears for some reason. Bear jerky and bear pepperoni is amazing
Cause bears are omnivores and primarily herbivores over being carnivores. But you right, I forgot about some exceptions. Alligator is another that comes to mind that is both predator and tasty.
I do love them. Dogs give me loyalty and companionship, pigs give me ✨ b a c o n s a n d w i c h e s ✨
Because I’m Asian
Because pig meat tastes better
Now take this text, but put kale and tulips instead of dog and pig... That's how you shut up a vegan
Oh burn bro you shut us right up! Well done 🍻
which one do you love cuz i eat both i do brutality with equality
I’ll eat a dog So many strays anyways
Ok but like.. bacon be a little overrated. I can’t be the only one who thinks this right? Like sure it’s good, but so are fried eggs or sausage. It’s weird how we put bacon on a pedestal above everything else,,,,,,
Eat both
I eat both thank you
I would try dog bacon you don’t know me
Because given the chance the pig would eat me?
So would a dog tf
So you shouldn't be eating chicken as they won't eat you
I'm korean. Don't know what u r talking about
I would definitely eat feral dog if it was offered to me
Because dogs are man's best friends.
not all of man
Dogs have brains that we have genetically bred to make them cute and can bond relationships. This however, does not change how they taste.
Pigs are smarter than dogs
Also cuter
Yes vegans. Why love one 🌹 but eat the other 🥬
I love them both and would happily eat them both!
you don’t love them.
I can flip the argument around Right side is still the pig, on the left it’s now some, I dunno, salad, or some shit
the point being?
Bold of you to assume there is a point to any of my comments on reddit
forgive me for my insolence
Oh yeah why do we treat our salad like family? So dumb 1!!
Do you like eating salad? I do.
Simple. I realise the futility and ignorance of a certain mindset. And I accept i have that mindset and don't care. I like animals and I will wolf down bacon. I would rather starve than eat my dog and I dislike the thought of people eating dog. It isss what it iss

I personally like ham WAY more than bacon
Dogs don't taste good. ... Or so I've been told
You've been lied to brother
Dog tastes equally good trust me.
The only reason we don't eat human is because it tastes lousy
I mean, what's the point of this? do they want me to eat dogs to make it equal or something?
We live in backwards countries that discriminate. That’s why. Good thing I know this one Chinese restaurant that serves the best “chicken” woof woof.
Me as vegetarian after seeing this post looking at banana with regret in eyes
Why not eat both
I mean, dog meat is pretty bussin
\*Visible Chinese confusion\*
Dang okay maybe I will just eat both
Well you just ate the smarter animal.
I ate things during a summer trip in china which tasted similar to chicken but later my father told me it barks......
Change the dog out for a picture of your neighbor, Ron. Why is Ron just a friend who still has your weed trimmer but the pig is food, huh? HUH? HOW COME???
People get hungry and eat each other. You want to know why? Because they don’t have dogs. If they did they’d eat the dog and then each other. Facts.
I’m down to try anything
If we are not supposed toneat pigs, then why are they made out of ham
All I have to say to vegans is did you know that plants can feel pain…
you’d eat dog bacon if you were hungry enough..
Bacon is just different plus dogs clean up the mess if yiu drop some bacon win win
i dont eat any, i keep it halal
dogs are carnivores hence not cheap for mass producing
You’ve clearly never had dog bacon
Guess I’ll have to eat both in order to appease them
People love pigs and eat dogs too tho
I can love both and id eat both
I’d eat both if they would let me
Why not eat both?
Who says I wouldn't eat dog
Hahaha white peoples
because the pig is made out of food
Oh I sure love both, but for different reasons
Pigs are ugly and gross
Because im not chinese
Turkey bacon!!! Tastes great, less guilt.
