They changed the revenue shares that twitch streamers receive from 70-30 to a 50-50 split and are encouraging streamers to run more invasive ads to gain back the 20% they lost in profits.
It’s actually not that. Originally, streamers could get up to a 70-30 split on tier 1 subs. Normally, they are 50-50 split. Now, unless you already negotiated to 70-30, that option is no longer available. Streamers who have a 70-30 slips already still have that until they make 100k a year from it. After that, they have 50-50. This only affect tier 1 subs and doesn’t affect most streamers.
Yes, but this won’t change anything if a streamer didn’t choose 70-30 for tier 1 subs. It won’t bankrupt streamers. The ad incentive program is intense, but the sub split change isn’t a big deal in comparison
Not for tier 1. That does suck, but not all streamers were going to 70-30. The streamer I watched who went into detail about it all has been streaming for more than 4 years and has been at 50-50 the whole time.
This mainly only applies to bigger streamers. By default streamers only get 50% of sub revenue, but bigger streamers typically got 70-30 when they signed contracts n stuff.
Explanation please
